Fantastic cozy gem of a restaurant tucked in the shadow of Wall Street! First time trying Kazakh and Tajik food, and our dishes were absolutely delicious and filling! Beef was juicy and tender and pastry crisp, and the offal dish was prepared well. Especially loved the decorations and ambiance. Would definitely return again!

I really enjoyed visiting this Kazakh restaurant. I tried the lagman and the buns with meat, cheese, and spinach. Everything was incredibly tasty and freshly prepared. The dishes impressed me with their rich flavors. The atmosphere in the restaurant is very cozy and welcoming. I would also like to highlight the attentive and friendly staff. I will definitely come back and recommend this place to my friends.

Had dinner here on a Friday night. Love the atmosphere and decorations. Service was excellent and extremely friendly. Having been to Kazakhstan, it gives the feeling of being back in Central Asia. We had the umka, baursak, and the innocent kiss tea to start. Everything was delicious 🤤 After that, we had the borscht and beef plov, so tender and flavorful! Definitely recommend!

Farida Restaurant is an absolute gem! The food was outstanding, and the hospitality truly made the experience unforgettable. Max, our host, and Abu, our server and co-host, were incredibly warm, friendly, and welcoming. From the moment we arrived, they made us feel completely at home. Their recommendations were spot-on, and their attention and kindness made the evening extra special. We ordered the Tender Veal Liver with Mushrooms, the Mediterranean Breeze, and the ground lamb kebab—everything was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. You can truly taste the quality and care in every dish. To top off an already amazing feast, Max and the restaurant generously treated us to the Chak Chak dessert on the house—and wow, it was absolutely delicious! Such a wonderful and thoughtful surprise. Do yourself a favor and try this amazing dessert—it’s so, so good! What really sets this place apart is the exceptional customer service. Max and Abu went above and beyond to take care of us, and their genuine hospitality is the reason this has become one of my favorite restaurants in New York. Such a cute spot—my first time trying Central Asian food and I loved everything. The food was comforting and full of flavor, and the service made it even better. Asil was amazing—he really listened and gave the perfect recommendations for vegetarian food. Cherry on the cake: they had a holiday special where if you roll a 6 twice, your meal is free… and guess what, I did 🥹✨ Truly made my day. Great food, great service, and such happy vibes. Best introduction to Kazakisti cusine one could ask for! Glad we stumbled in this gem in FiDi, featuring cozy elaborate interior and sweet and efficient service. We tried kharcho Grorgian soup, polv, baursa and umka pies and they were all statement dishes! Soup so good reordered again. Would visit again!

We celebrated a birthday at the restaurant, and everything was perfect! The borscht, shashlik, and salads — the whole kitchen — were incredibly delicious, just like homemade. The atmosphere was very cozy, warm, and welcoming. Special thanks to the waiters — the guys did a great job, came up with an original musical surprise, and congratulated us in a very heartfelt way. We’ll definitely be coming back more than once!

Amazing Uzbek Cuisine and Welcoming Ambience I recently dined at Farida and absolutely loved the experience. I ordered the Uzbek Pulao, lamb chops, and kebabs, and every dish was bursting with flavor. The Uzbek Pulao was beautifully delicious — the rice was aromatic, the carrots sweet and tender, and the fat from the meat soaked perfectly into the rice. The portion of meat could be a bit more generous, but the taste made up for it completely. The lamb chops were exceptional — juicy, succulent, and perfectly cooked. You get four pieces, and the salad underneath, soaked in the flavorful meat juices, was unexpectedly delicious. The kebabs were also excellent — tender, juicy, and full of flavor, not dry at all. For dessert, I tried the Mom’s Cake, and it was a wonderful surprise — soft, multilayered, and perfectly complemented by the honey drizzle on top. The ambience is warm and inviting, with beautiful lights and tasteful interior design. The staff were kind, attentive, and made the experience even better. Overall, Farida is a gem in Lower Manhattan — a must-try if you love authentic Central Asian flavors and great hospitality!

this place is super cute! I loved all the little embroidery on the chairs and how welcoming and warm they make it. They have a large bar in the front with smaller seating and they have a room at the back for larger tables as well as private events if you want to throw them We tried the Manti and we love the pumpkin ones as well as the spinach. I would definitely come back for the kebabs. They were amazing. I also really love the herring in a fur coat. The one dish would pass on would be the dessert which was sort of fried noodles with ice cream. but I think everything else was outstanding. The service was really good as well. They have a very sweet young girl who explains all the dishes to you and answer your questions and helps you to decide what you would like especially if the food is not familiar to you. I would definitely recommend this place and would come back.

Everything was delicious and fresh, the service was excellent! The waiters were attentive and polite! We were there in the evening, and the violinist played beautiful melodies. We loved everything! I recommend it! This is now our favorite restaurant ❤️ thank you for a wonderful evening!

We had dinner at Farida and really enjoyed it. The food was flavorful and well-prepared — we tried the lagman and plov, and both were delicious. For something unique, we also ordered “herring under a fur coat,” which is a very traditional dish and worth trying if you’ve never had it before. The compote was nice too. My friends were happy with everything, and the atmosphere made the evening even better. There was live music, which added a special touch. Overall, it’s a great place to enjoy tasty food and a warm, lively atmosphere. Highly recommend.

We had fantastic dinner. Dishes were delicious and authentic. We were a party of Uzbek, Russian and Ukrainian folks, so we know what to expect. We ordered plov, yazik (tongue), bishbarmak, kale salad, beef uzbek salad, kebabs, lagman, and everything was fresh and yummy. Our waiter Natalya did a great job. We also took advantage of Aperol spritz special. They have live music as well.

We tried a variety of dishes as it was our first time trying this cuisine and while all the dishes were flavorful and enjoyable, none of them really stood out to me. I’m not criticizing the food, just noting that it’s different than what I’m used to as far as the spices go. I would go back to try more dishes, although the price factor is a bit discouraging as the portions are way too small for their prices. The meat stew with the rice in the middle only had 5 pieces of meat in it and the stir-fried noodles had more vegetables than noodles itself. The decor and the ambiance was nice and we enjoyed the live music performance.

Nice space, different type of good decor. A bit on expensive end as compared to the portion size. Got the chicken kebab and Atlantic salmon grilled skewer. Chicken was fresh, nicely marinated and grilled. Salmon was well cooked but bland with no extra taste. Given the taste it is quite expensive at $32. Each grilled skewer contains 5 averages sized pieces. Also got the chicken puffs which were nice. Wish they could give better sauces with it. The almond orange zest crepe cake was very simple and refreshing. The staff is very accommodating if we want to celebrate a small cake cutting function. Overall a nice spot.

I was excited to see Kazakh food available in the US and was eager to try this restaurant. The atmosphere and service were great. Our waiter was very friendly and the decorations were beautiful. There is a lot of care into creating a central Asian community in the restaurant which I enjoyed! I think the restaurant though has too many options from different central Asian countries. While listed as a Kazakh restaurant, the food is from all over Central Asia (with other regions as well), which I thought made the food only okay. I was hoping the food would be better. Definitely worth a visit still and I would get the plov if I went again.

The food quality was good and tasty, but unfortunately the service was horrible. They didn’t respect customers’ time at all, my food was served about 30 minutes before my wife’s, and to make it worse, the appetizer arrived after the main course, which makes no sense. On the positive side, I really liked the Kurt, which is essentially the same as Kashk we have in Iranian cuisine, and it actually went very well with beer. The Kyrgyz Ganfan, a traditional Kazakhstani dish, was also tasty, but the portion was very small, there were fewer than five small pieces of beef in the stew, which felt disappointing for the price. Overall, good flavors, but the service issues and portion size seriously hurt the experience.

Umka puff pies were seem like they were reheated in a microwave. Meat in uzbeki pulav was dry and the sweet notes of the rice were missing. The rice was dry and not greasy enough. Kaza kebab were dry as well. Menu was pricey, ambience was below average, restroom was unclean, servers were either too busy or did not care. Not sure why i would think about going back.

They are testing our patience!!! We got in here after a long day of work to have some good food and relaxing time. Entered the restaurant at 7.15pm, ordered couple of drinks and had to wait for 40 min to get them served. It's already 9pm, and we are still sitting in the corner waiting for the main course to be served that we ordered and hour ago. What can I say.. Food is good but visit only if you have a monk level patience, else there are plenty of restaurants on wall street, give them a chance.
