Opinions de Forever Coffee New York
Nice atmosphere The baristas are really nice! Great coffee flavor and fair prices! I love the cappuccinos; The only bad thing is that people stay too long on their laptop on the tables and there aren't that many chairs, or space for us customers who only go there to enjoy the coffee can't stay longer, there was a few times that I left.because there was no tables available overall great coffee shop!
Had a yummy plain gluten free bagel with cream cheese here. Very happy to see this option.
I come here a lot, the coffee (both drip and espresso-based drinks) are always reliably good and their breakfast sandwiches are great (be aware that this is not a fast food place. Sandwiches are made to order, expect to wait 10-15 mins for your food if it’s moderately busy). Big enough space that you can generally get a seat or a table to yourself if you’re lucky. No WiFi or laptops allowed, although I see people on laptops sometimes anyway. They also usually play good music!
As a tourist who’s not from the this area, I would highly recommend this place! The yogurt parfait was huge, filling and healthy (greek yogurt, honey, granola and blueberries) tuna salad on sourdough was really tasty too. The place is cute and chill, felt welcoming and the staff is really kind. Thank you guys for my amazing breakfast.
I really enjoyed this location. The food was delicious. Everyone loved what they got. The coffee was great too. I got a cold brew and had it black. It had a lot of great flavor. There is plenty of seating and the staff was friendly. It is a great spot to pop in every now and again.
This is my regular coffee spot. I love the staff, the food, and the overall vibes of the shop. The veggie breakfast sandwich is my go to order with black cold brew. Their cold brew stands on its own with great flavor. No need to cover it up with milk and sugar. There are other delicious options like the chai and lattes. Also, the menu variety is great. The veggie breakfast burrito and veggie breakfast sandwich are my favorite items. Be sure to try Mel’s cookies !
Came here with my picky sister to eat breakfast! And we were very pleased! The burrito was so delicious and so cheesy as you can see from our picture! They also did not skimp on the avocado 🥑. We also had the ricotta pancakes which came with fresh blueberries and they were so moist and delicious as well. The coffee was also good! I read a lot of reviews and people really seems to be upset at how long it takes to get the food, which I guess it’s not up to the nyc speed standards, but good food takes time! It’s the perfect spot for a slow morning when you can sit enjoy your coffee and people watch.
So so good! The coffee was incredible and we really loved their breakfast choices. This place is small and cute. They offer one main table and a few smaller seats so great ready to sit at a table with other people as they sip cortados and read their newspapers. I needed this experience. It was a great ‘grounding’ moment to stay off my phone and enjoy the environment.
I’ve been to Forever Coffee Bar a few times -delicious teas, kind staff, good vibes all around. Tried their vegan breakfast bagel (with vegan chickpea and tofu cream cheese!!) -SO DELICIOUS! Can’t wait to try again Went back recently! Very kind barista. Clean, friendly spot. Has outdoor seating now!
I was extremely happy with this place. The staff was very welcoming and extremely positive which created a chill and light vibe. I had the oaxacan spiced mocha and the vegan pumpkin bread. The mocha was smooth, very flavourful, and had the perfect amount of spice. The pumpkin bread was very moist and delicious. In addition to pastries, this place offers and extended food menu that has a decent selection of plant based options for vegans/vegetarians. The price point was very reasonable. I Would definitely recommend giving this place a try.
Forever coffee has a super cozy environment and friendly employees! I met a friend here for a quick bite, I had a bacon egg and cheese bagel and a cold brew. The bacon egg and cheese was tasty and filling. Bacon was a bit chewy. Im not much of a coffee lover but I wanted to taste the cold brew with caramel and it was pretty good! I found the price of the bagel to be very expensive but my belly was full and satisfied. My friend got an avocado toast with some hash browns and she enjoyed her meal!
The first time I tried this place, it was excellent! I've been back a couple times since and it's hit or miss. The bacon egg & cheese on brioche is delicious, if it's cooked right. If not, it's kind of 'meh'. I also wasn't necessarily fond of the brownie I tried or the gluten free options. Limited seating, but it's a cute space.
Cozy little coffee shop with a communal table and two smaller ones around it. Service could use improvement; initially confused by cashier’s location and felt ignored by the barista until I figured it out. Loved the delicious lemonade and avocado toast, but the 20-minute wait was a drawback. The container provided for the toast made it a bit tricky to eat with a fork and knife. With more focus on hospitality, this spot could easily transform into an amazing coffee shop experience.
Forever used to be THE best breakfast and coffee spot in the neighborhood but they seem to have lost their love of what they do in recent years. I get it, the people of this neighborhood can grind anyone down, but they've dropped their friendly and helpful facade entirely. I was a huge Stan of theirs (and their Falafel spin-off) for many years. Since then, they've been phoning it in and their care for their own business has dwindled so heavily to the point to where I rarely patron them anymore because it feels like a gamble. I haven't seen any improvements made to their overall front-of-house aesthetic in many years, and it sorely needs a lift, because it feels kinda depressing. Their order counter is pinched in a back corner and the entire workflow of everything just feels strange because nobody seems to know how to navigate it--you have to squeeze back there just to see what paltry pastries they may (or may not) have. The design choices are just strange and likely contributes to their recurring issues. They still legit still have some of the best bagel sandwiches and coffee in the neighborhood, with a few caveats: First off, expect that any sandwich you order is never going to made with the bread you order it on. They'll call you and ask you to change it because they're constantly out of stock on so many things, even if it's at 10am on a weekday and all you want is an everything bagel. Second, expect that if you customize your sandwich order, the chances that something is certainly going to be left out is pretty high--the attention to detail is just not there. I can't tell you the amount of times I've paid for chipotle mayo only to have it be left off entirely. Same with missing avocado/veggies. Forever owes me at least $30 in mayo I never received, I swear. Sometimes the staff in front can be friendly, other times you'll be shrugged off and ignored entirely. The kitchen works ungodly slow. I guess they're just living up to their namesake. All that said, they make the best Oaxaca Spiced Mocha in the city. I'll die on that hill. But it's only available in the winter months. They buy their bagels from Davidovich, which knows how to make a pretty mean baked good. They load their sandwiches up with cheese and toppings most of the time, and never skimp. I think they just need a little spark to lift them back out of the funk they're in and I hope the community can give it to them, because if they ceased to exist like their falafel counterpart, I'd be pretty bummed about it. They've got to start caring a bit more again for people to see how great they truly are.
I recently visited Forever Coffee, lured by their promise of yummy eats, but my experience was far from memorable. The bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich—a New York City staple—was served on sourdough without any other bread options, which was disappointing. The service left much to be desired, and while the tea was just okay, the $15 price tag for one sandwich and a cold tea felt steep for the portion and quality. Overall, not great. Their coffee is all priced under $6 which seems very reasonable. I’m not a coffee drinker so couldn’t share the quality of the coffee but a small line grew for coffee after collecting my sandwich as I observed from the tiny table inside. Insider- Happy to join Team Unas. 💅
I don't know what my favorite part about this place is... Either, the insistence on customers paying with the exact amount because they "can't give change" OR the dog in this photo that is behind the counter and is one of the employees dogs. (Before you say, "The dog is not in the kitchen!" Feel free to look up NYC law and notice that it says that companion dogs should not be in kitchens or food storage areas- nevermind indoor at all.) Anyway, the food is interesting and I like it overall. The ricotta pancakes are great and I normally don't eat ricotta. The art and posters are for local businesses and artists which I think is awesome. жалко!
The coffee was good, but if I am getting a black coffee it really shouldn’t take more than one minute when there is no one else ordering. I walked in and although there were a couple of people sitting, no one was ordering and nothing was being made. I ordered and stood there since it was just a black coffee and no one was in line. They obviously weren’t getting it right away so I stepped into the bathroom to wash my hands and give them a minute…maybe I missed a rush and they are wiping down from the last batch of orders. I came out and went over to stand where the sugar and milk are and the two girls were just chatting. About a minute later they looked over wondering why I was there and what I wanted.
Honestly, I just come to this place because Buunni closed down the street but everytime I'm there I see bugs, they are always missing stuff like simple syrup, no napkins, they don't clean up spills and also these guys never have change! The people that work there don't really cater to the community, this cafe is for a more niche population if you know what I mean. The workers look like they are miserable serving you coffee and food, I don't want people like that handling my order. They want to pretend they are for the community by having these poetry books written by "people from the community"; coffee is just okay, don't waste your time or money here. They do not know the value of having locals. Very far off from what this neighborhood is actually about. Also PS: they do not allow laptops.
The food and coffee were great, but the service and wait times could definitely use improvement. When we went to the front desk to order, we were told to use the kiosks—even though staff were actively taking orders from other customers at the front. It ended up taking 15 minutes for my bagels and sandwiches to come out, and then another 10 minutes just to get an iced latte. My friend had to wait a total of 30 minutes for their order. Meanwhile, others who ordered at the front desk received their food much faster. The staff didn’t seem particularly apologetic or communicative about the delay, which was disappointing. Would love to come back for the food, but hope the ordering system and customer service improve.
