Opinions de Glaze Teriyaki New York
Absolutely loved teriyaki salmon! You can add different sauces for free in the pick-up zone, which is a plus. Long wait time during lunch, so wouldn’t recommend coming from 12 pm till 2 pm
The food is great, the team on site is great, and the restaurant sends out incentivized review links that offer to put me into a raffle for a $100 gift card, which is an example of stunning corporate greed! I believe that it’s also in direct violation of Google policy, as is the review gating that only led me to this page if I gave a five star review on their text messages first! This is still a five star review because I don’t want to fault the team at the restaurant for their excellent work, but you have absolutely lost me as a customer for this dishonest policy! If anybody in corporate marketing is reading this, smooches!
Glaze is an exceptional restaurant that deserves greater recognition. It has become a consistent and valued part of our dining experience at home. The staff are welcoming and maintain a clean and organized kitchen area. The restaurant’s interior features a modern minimalist design, characterized by clean lines, neutral tones, and an open floor plan. They offer delicious, straightforward meals prepared fresh, with an emphasis on presentation. My children particularly enjoy the teriyaki chicken and steak. Overall, the offerings are not only flavorful but also aesthetically appealing.
Delicious and consistent! There’s so much flavor in their sauces, the quality of the meat is top notch, and everything always tastes fresh. Super fast delivery. The restaurant is really busy during lunch as to be expected, but whether eating in or getting delivery, it’s always fast. Spicy teriyaki sauce is *chef’s kiss.
Been here a few times, generally when seeing a client up on Lexington and 50th street. This place is always mobbed and I can concur. It’s the place to be. The portions are terrific. I could eat two of these, but I know I shouldn’t. Recently, I tried the steak and boy was that good. The chicken and salmon are up there too.
First time having lunch here with our interns and what a great surprise. The menu offerings is just right with the use of fresh ingredients and on point flavors. The staff was super friendly, can you order ahead for pick up or seat and dine in. The portions are generous as well. Overall if you want to treat yourself, this is a spot to check out
The grass fed beef steak with brown rice and salad with spicy teriyaki sauce tasted great but $16 for a bowl is definitely not cheap. This is fast food teriyaki and not an authentic Japanese food experience so minus one star. The self-service kiosk was easy to use for ordering. The food was ready in just a few minutes. Overall, the place is well-lit and looks clean but just a bit of stain on the table. Wiping more frequent would be great.
I came here for a quick bite after work on a Monday night. The restaurant was pretty empty, but the kitchen was busy to fulfill all the online + takeout orders. I ordered the chicken thigh teriyaki bowl. It was prepared very quickly—was ready in about 5 minutes after ordering. It was pretty good, but not amazing. Good portions though! The restaurant’s interior is fairly minimal, but the seating cushions were not very clean, so I didn’t feel great about dining in. Either way, not a bad spot for a quick meal!
Not too shabby for a lunch spot. I ordered the chicken thigh teriyaki bowl with white rice, and it was pretty decent. I thought the chicken would have a bit more flavor but it did the job, especially for a quick bite during a break from the office. One thing is for sure though: the service here was efficient and quick!
A quick takeout place with relatively healthy food. Decent portion and price. Sauces were fine. The chicken was good but a bit over cooked. My friend got the tofu which turned out completely tasteless. There are many other better food options in midtown I’d pick before coming back, but it’s fine for what it is.
Please make an option on the delivery apps to leave the sauce on the side for all dishes. Please. I beg you. Your teriyaki is so sweet i don’t want diabetes.
If coming on a weekday lunch, make sure you have at least half an hour free, and that’s just to order and wait to receive your meal. If you try to order pickup ahead on uber eats and arrive 20 minutes later at the quoted time, just add that extra time to the total because for some reason you end up waiting all the same time once you’re in store anyway while everyone else’s orders are prepared. If you have 30 minutes or less time for lunch, this “fast casual” counter service restaurant isn’t an option that can accommodate you, whether you order ahead or not. As others mention, it’s incredibly crowded and loud during peak lunch (which you can’t really blame the business for), so you can show the friendly pickup order view in uber eats that shows your name and order number in large text. But for some reason your name becomes garbled into some entirely unrelated random sounds when the staff starts asking each other regarding your order and the staff you showed your order screen to comes back to the counter looking for “Don”. Seems like there’s at least one other review mentioning the same experience of spending longer than they would’ve ordering in person when ordering pickup 20 minutes ahead.
Maybe I came here on an off day, but their crowd control during lunch made no sense. I placed an order for pickup and arrived at the estimated time (20 mins after placing the order), only to then wait another 20 minutes while they fulfilled all the in-person orders. By the time I finally got my food, they were handing out meals that were over 60 numbers ahead of mine. Meanwhile, there were consistently 20-30 people milled around a small area, also waiting for their orders. Either the online ordering system needs to account better for estimated timing, or the restaurant needs to figure out a better system. Food was ok, but not worth waiting for.
I think at some point, when Asian food was being introduced to the US, it was negotiated that it would have to be either fried, sweet, or both. This was almost a bland but healthy option, if it wasn't for a sugar sauce with a bit of chili that is poured all over the meat. They could at least warn you to what the experience will be... they did ask about the sauce, but apparently that was just in regards to the salad, and nevertheless they hand it to you separately, in a small plastic cup. The one that's bad for you is poured all over your choice of meat, which compared to the amount of rice, is very small. As I was eating, I noticed part of the staff having lunch as well. That's ok, but what annoyed me is that they where watching stuff on their cel phones with the speaker on high volume. What's up with that??
I have a wheat allergy. They put regular soy sauce(not gluten free) on my order, and didn’t tell me until I asked while picking it up. I ordered it digitally in the store, and I put that i had an allergy, but the woman told me that she used regular soy sauce because I apparently put something in the order incorrectly.(I didn’t) So basically, I marked that I had an allergy and selected gluten free soy sauce on the order, and the woman said she used the regular one anyways. They argued with me about it but they eventually remade it. Overall, I learned that you have to ask people if they followed the special dietary request or else they might not! The food was good and I took a solid photo of it too.
DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE! If you order for delivery from here they will never pick up the phone or give you a status update! Awful customer service and poorly run! Food arrived and was COLD also
