Visited this restaurant for dinner this past weekend. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted, seated and our drink orders taken. We were provided with a panoply of specials as well as the regular menu selections. The food was extremely fresh and the service kind and highly attentive. I will absolutely be back and highly recommend this restaurant for superb Italian fare.

We live in Queens, and were looking for a place to make reservations before our Broadway show on a Friday night. We made reservations, and were seated immediately upon our arrival. Service was fast but experience was slow (which is a good thing!). Let me explain; staff was extremely attentive, and our food and drinks came out in a very timely manner. But the experience was slow; again, in a good way! As in they don’t shove menus in front of you as soon as you sit. First, they served a wonderful starter bread with oil and a zucchini starter (which we hadn’t ordered). They took our wine order; and served us our wine. They let us snack on the break a bit; and THEN gave us our menus. Which is extremely refreshing change of pace especially for NYC. We got dessert and coffee and were still out within 1.5 hours with plenty of time for us to get to our show. Additionally, the ambiance was very pleasant and tables spread out (for NYC) so it didn’t feel like you were on top of anyone and it wasn’t overly crowded. Would definitely come back!

This place is THE BEST Italian restaurant in NYC! The food is unbelievably perfect in taste, presentation and quality. Service is spot on and the wine selection is impressive. I have been a frequent visitor of Scalinatella and IL Mulino and without question IL Gradino is the best of all of them!

This place is amazing! me and my fiancé came here for a date out and were amazed by the restaurant atmosphere and the excellent service we got from the workers. My fiancé and I love pasta and this place has to be top 5 in pasta plates we have ever had. My fiancé had the Spaghetti al Pomodoro and I had the Ravioli IL Gradino and these plates were made perfectly. if i could give this Restaurant more than 5 stars i would! We will definitely be returning.

The food and service were fantastic! We had the meatballs, the chicken parm, and the mushroom ravioli. Every dish was delicious, and the staff took good care of us.

Truly one of the best places and hidden gems to go eat in New York City and this is coming from someone who’s lived in the city for 40 years and has gone to the best restaurants in the city. Everything is amazing at this establishment from the service and the waiters to the owner to the most spectacular food you could ever imagine and, they will make anything and everything you want if it’s not on the menu. I recently had the pleasure of dining at Il Gradino, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience that went above and beyond our expectations, especially as we were dining with our 1-year-old baby. From the moment we walked in, the staff at Il Gradino made us feel warmly welcomed. They were incredibly attentive and accommodating, which made our visit stress-free and enjoyable. The restaurant itself exudes a charming ambiance, with a cozy, elegant decor that sets a relaxing tone. What truly stood out was their sensitivity to our 1 year old. The staff were not only understanding but proactive in making sure we had everything we needed. They offered us a high chair immediately and even provided some toys to keep our little one entertained. They also adjusted the seating arrangement to ensure we had ample space for the baby and our stroller. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and made excellent recommendations, including some kid-friendly options that were perfect for our baby. The level of service was impeccable, with the staff checking in just enough to ensure everything was to our liking without being intrusive. Overall, Il Gradino is a gem of an Italian restaurant that combines outstanding food with exceptional service. Their consideration for families with young children sets them apart, making it an ideal choice for a family meal. We can't wait to return!

I am definitely going to be a frequent diner here now. Great food, great service! The food is phenomenal. Food was fresh tasty and colorful. Service is super awesome! The staff is super nice and accommodating, and the food came out quick. The workers were very knowledgeable and kind. I haven't even tried the tasty looking food yet! This place is pretty stellar! I think that all of the other reviews summed up how awesome this place is :) Sort of hate to rave, don't want the cover blown!

After visiting this incredible place twice in the past week, I can definitely say that nothing beats their hospitality. It truly embodies the essence of Italian warmth and charm. From the moment you step in, you're welcomed like family. The selection of wine takes you on a journey through Italian wineries, and each sip is a delight. As for the food, it's simply outstanding. Each dish is executed to perfection, leaving you almost licking the plate after every bite. I must commend the staff for creating such a rare combination of perfection in the New York restaurant scene. Thank you, guys, for providing such a memorable dining experience. I can't wait to return and indulge in your exceptional hospitality once again.

Absolutely fantastic Italian food! Our bartender, Steven, is one of the best in the city and absolutely nails the Italian classics! The homemade pasta is to die for and you can tell every members of the staff is genuinely dedicated to good service—we will be back!

Food wasn’t great. Staff seemed to disappear mid meal. Said something they got a bit rude. Wouldn’t waist my money so many other great restaurants around the area
