My fiance who is Kurdish took me here and I loved the food .Food was delicious this bread was just so hot and fresh..we will go back soon. Waitress was great too.
Please visit!! We had the chicken and lamb shish kebabs, both full of flavor and perfectly spiced, with portions that were much larger than expected. The fries were well-seasoned and tasty, though I’d recommend trying more of their traditional dishes over the American-style sides. The Russian soda had a minty taste that wasn’t quite for me, but it was interesting to try. What truly stood out was the service—our waitress, whose name I didn’t catch, was incredibly kind, social, and attentive. She made the whole experience even better, and I sincerely pray Allah blesses her with good health and wealth.
The food at this tiny joint might be some of the best kebab I have had in the city. This place exactly what New York’s vibrant food scene is about, grabbing a bite before or after your Broadway show is the perfect was to complete a night out in the city experience. It may not be the fanciest of places but if you want a party in your mouth and for your stomach to thank you for the delicious food, definitely checkout this spot!
Food was good, but the service was on another level. Huge shoutout to Lara. Super friendly, attentive and made the whole experience better. Would definitely come back!
Great service and food. Second time in here and they already recognized me. I’d upload a photo of the food but I’m too busy inhaling it when it hits the table 🤤
My Mom, Dad and nephew went there today for lunch. They were extremely pleased with everything! My Mom noted that the restaurant was very clean and the food was absolutely delicious. I'm in Austin, TX and they called me asking for help finding an Indian restaurant nearby 45th St., which is where their hotel is at. But, I know their taste and know that they really love cubed lamb kabob so I broadened my search to include Türkiye cuisine. I found Istanbul Kebab House near to their location and hoped for the best. Thankfully, they were more than pleased and are going back for seconds in two days this coming Saturday! Thank you for treating my family like your family and I only wish that I too could have been there. 12/18/25 12/20/25 UPDATE: My family visited a 2nd time and once again told me that the food is amazing and the service was outstanding. They will be returning next year or sooner if possible! They mentioned to me that your dessert is so delicious! Thank you again.
As a first time visit, I was impressed by how flavorful the food is. Their rice pudding wasn't overly sweet, rice grains were tender while not being soggy. The chicken shawarma and lamb shawarma combo plate was delicious! I recommend putting the yogurt sauce on it for more flavor and freshness.
Finally got a diner kebab with pickled cabbage and chile sauce, like I used to get in the UK. Absolutely delicious and our server was a delight. I walked about 20 blocks, checking out 4 total kebab places to find what I wanted and found it here. My friend and I reenacted the post credit scene from Avengers. Loved it.
I went here in a hurry to avoid the rain and fill my hungry stomach. I was drenched in the rain at the time, so I thought I might be worried about the inside of the store getting wet, but they treated me very kindly. I was so happy that the owner was so kind. It was my first time experiencing this kind of feeling abroad, and I was grateful.
I personally recommend this to anyone and everyone of my acquaintances. Besides the amazing food, the service was fantastic, our server, Nara if I recall, really set the the standard, kudos to her and upper management, I’ve had food in every corner of the world and personally work in the service industry and what really sets it apart is the quality of service, like the pairing of the perfect wine with a good risotto, her service matched how much we enjoyed, and if anything elevated the experience we had. Thank you!
After searching for good halal food for the past two days, I finally found this gem! We ordered chicken shawarma, lamb shawarma, and a mixed platter — every dish was full of flavor and absolutely delicious. The meat was juicy and well-seasoned, and the portion sizes were great for the price. The restaurant is clean, staff are friendly, and the service was quick. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and definitely value for money. Highly recommended if you’re craving authentic Turkish or Mediterranean halal food!
This was my first time trying Turkish cuisine. My friend loves Istanbul Kebab House and I can see why. Immediately the employees greeted us warmly and sat us in a cozy spot. Laura was particularly a stand out, provided recommendations and made sure we got the best deal. The food was flavorful and filling. The stand out was the pistachio baklava, lamb and chicken doner and the tea. I felt welcomed and respected as a customer which is just as important as great food. I will be back!
Server was very friendly. I was feeling adventurous, so I tried a Turkish delicacy. Kelle Paća. Broth tasted like Wisconsin Booya. Meat tasted like the parts of a sheep most big city Americans have never tried. I would return to the restaurant, but maybe try a more popular dish with non-Turkish folks.
Had a fantastic chicken gyro on fresh Turkish bread, and a shepherd salad with feta. Both were absolutely incredible. The prices were, well, NYC. The atmosphere is awkward and tight, but well worth it for the really great meal. The service was fast and friendly. I will definitely be back.
Edit: Visited this place 9 months later and still keeping 5 stars!!! It’s a small place but hospitality is 10/10, their two sauces are just🔥 and food was still very good! The prices increased a bit and portion seemed a little smaller but still best Turkish food in the city!!! Best Turkish food in the city and very humble staff. If you need anything they are there to help and food tastes juicy, full of flavor. Although the place is small, it’s just a really great experience at a reasonable price. 100% recommended!!!

Stopped in early in a Saturday and got seated immediately. The Turkish bread and hummus were amazing and the lamb was fabulous. The server was extremely helpful and kind as well. Great experience.
The food was really good and nice for a lunch or late dinner. Very casual ambiance. Excellent service. Chicken kebab was excellent.

Kebab was good. Decoration can be improved. Also tried the rice pudding which tastes below average. Need to improve their desert items. Parking around the area is difficult. Probably good idea to park few blocks far from the resturent. Also Main Street parking is bit pricy too. Service is okay but still there are room for improvements.
Lovely little Turkish doner place open late in midtown! And it's halal! Ordered the... ✅ Lamb & chicken mixed doner sandwich on Turkish bread (not on the menu but recommended by our server! Very well stuffed and super filling, goes great with the white & red sauces!) ✅ Lamb Adana sandwich on Turkish bread (a lot less filled than the doner sandwich as you see in the photos, might like to see more stuffing in this next time) ✅ Babaghanoush (very creamy & came with piping hot bread ❤️🔥) ✅ Uludag orange soda (refreshing & recommended by our server) Highlights: 1️⃣ The bread here is amazing - fluffy, warm, and perfect for a cold night in the city! Classicly Turkish. 2️⃣ The staff are so kind, accommodating, and hospitable. The server made great suggestions and was able to charge my friend's cell phone in a pinch! 3️⃣ While it's a small space, it was easy to accommodate a party of two even though almost all tables were full. The atmosphere was also inviting with cute Turkish/Asian decor (plus there's a TV if you're into that). Overall, solid place with fair prices! Would come back!
It’s a small, narrow restaurant with limited tables but good service and excellent Turkish food. We came here for dinner just before the rush and we’re seated and served promptly. For 4 people, we ordered the small mixed appetizers which consists of four of the cold appetizers. We also ordered the Istanbul Special Mixed Grill Kebabs and Special Mixed Grill Chicken dishes to share. It was a lot of food and we had some left over. Everything is halal and tasted wonderful.

I’ve been eating here since more than a decade ago whenever I came to the area. I’ve moved away for a while and was excited to come back again. The hummus is excellent. The grilled lamb was too dry. Maybe overcooked for food safety reasons? The recommended chopped meat kebab was not bad. Shawarma was not as good as I remembered it. Another surprise was the bill. I could feel the inflation attacking my wallet. It used to be a very affordable place, now if you just order without looking at the price of each item like I used to do, you may end up getting a sticker shock. Pay attention to the check too. They’ve added in a 10% service charge so do adjust your additional tip and not paying more than you expected. If you don’t do the math, and just add 15% to the final bill number, you will pay more than your plan to. I hate the US restaurant tipping and taxing convention. They should do it like the rest of the world. List the final, after-tax, and service charge prices on the menu. The tourists will have a much better experience patronizing American restaurants.

Worst Doner I've ever had. Not tasty at all. It shouldn't be table next to the restroom. Serving with paper plate is not a turkish style hospitality.

A single soup cannot cost nearly $12 — that’s unreasonable. If you order online, two soups come to $12.95 on Uber Eats. I strongly recommend that management reconsider this pricing. If you want to do business properly, this kind of unnecessary overpricing needs to stop.
