Opinions de Spice Symphony New York
Absolutely amazing meal! Was recommended to us by a friend, and we recommend it to you. A quick walk from our Broadway show, the meal was a perfect night cap. The mango margaritas were the perfect combo of sweet and spice; the cauliflower appetizer was bold and perfectly crunchy; the aloo gobi was wonderfully catered to our spice level and still full of flavor; the flaan was to die for. Resturant manager Rakesh Arban did an awesome job taking care of us. The atmosphere included colorful decor, mellow ambiance, and easy to talk to one another despite a somewhat full resturant. There are stairs down to the entrance door. There are two single stall restrooms. The price was very reasonable given it's location and portion sizes.
Absolutely amazing cuisine! Best Indian food I’ve ever had. The butter chicken was out of this world. We also had the mango lassi and it was very tasty. Highly recommend their naan too, soft and cooked to perfection.
We felt so welcomed as soon as we got there got seated. It was my husband and I 10 year anniversary. Everything was absolutely amazing even the complimentary food items they gave us. Thank you for such great service and amazing food as well. Clean and friendly. Staff was working together as a team I love that.
Amazing service! Food was 10/10, perfect spice level as well. Try the Kokum drink made by Sampada - fire!!! Even hooked us up with coconut flan. We’re coming back tomorrow. Just 2 apps filled us up.
I had been missing Indian food for a while, and this dinner completely exceeded my expectations. The menu felt beautifully traditional, but with a subtle NYC twist that made everything even more special. Every preparation was absolutely delicious — rich in flavor, perfectly spiced, and incredibly satisfying. Rakesh Arban kindly helped us choose the dishes. I gave him a few hints about what we like, and he curated a dinner that was truly to die for. Every plate that came to the table was a hit. Highly recommend an unforgettable experience!
The food was amazing! The naan was so delicious, as was the paneer Pasadna. The inside of the restaurant has an amazing ambience and is nicely decorated. The staff were attentive and kind. And we were serviced quickly. If you are wanting a place to eat before a Broadway show or just craving Indian food, this is an amazing option!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely exceptional experience at Spice Symphony Times Square! From the very moment we arrived, we were taken care of by the wonderful manager Rakesh Arban, and I honestly can’t praise him enough. I’m going to go as far as saying he spoilt us. His attentiveness, warmth and professionalism made this one of the best restaurant experiences we’ve ever had and all with zero pressure, which is so rare. The atmosphere was mysterious, cool and incredibly welcoming, with the perfect lighting for a date night. We were seated by the window, watching the snow fall outside in beautiful NYC, which made the evening feel truly special. The food was outstanding — full of flavour, beautifully presented, and with very generous portions. We even got to take away what we couldn’t finish (always a win!). Every detail felt thoughtful, relaxed and genuinely caring. If you’re in Times Square and want incredible food paired with world-class service, Spice Symphony — and especially Rakesh — is an absolute must. We will remember this evening for a long time. Thank you so much!!!! 🤍
Spice Symphony delivers an elevated Indian dining experience that lives up to the hype. From the moment you walk in, the warm, modern ambiance paired with attentive service sets the stage for a memorable meal. The dishes are beautifully balanced and thoughtfully executed — the tandoori appetizers are smoky and tender, and the curries are rich without being heavy. Standouts included the lamb rogan josh, deeply spiced and melt-in-your-mouth, and the butter chicken, which struck the perfect balance of creamy and savory without overpowering sweetness. The biryani was fragrant and layered with flavor, and the fresh, hot naan was perfect for savoring every last bite of sauce. What really impressed me was the consistency across the menu — from the bold, nuanced spices to the presentation — and the staff’s willingness to guide you through the menu with genuine care. Whether you’re here for a special occasion or a night out with friends, Spice Symphony delivers classic Indian favorites with modern finesse. Highly recommend — this is one of the best Indian dining experiences in the city!
Such a great experience here. Rakesh was a phenomenal manager, making sure we were happy with our orders. The food was flavorful, fresh, and clearly made with care. The mushroom, paneer, bombay style bhelpuri was a standout all perfectly balanced, crispy, and packed with bold flavors without being overwhelming. The Schezwan noodles were equally impressive: well-cooked, spicy in the right way, and super satisfying. Everything tasted authentic and thoughtfully prepared. Definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to and recommending to others.
This is a great Indian restaurant with the best tasting Indo Chinese food. The soups, appetizers and noodles were all delicious and authentic. North Indian food was above average in taste but was prepared fresh and served hot so was worth it. They had great selection of scotch and red wines. You can never go wrong with stags leap and was served perfectly by server.
This was the second time dining at Spice Symphony Times Square. This time was better than the first due to the fact that there were 4 of us and we ordered more dishes. Everything was quite delicious and I would order each dish again. The lamb rogan josh, channa masala, butter chicken, cauliflower, and naan breads were all excellent. We didn't have a reservation and waited for 30 minutes to be seated but well worth the wait. Everyone enjoyed the attentive service and bustling atmosphere. Each of my guests loved the meal.
Visited Spice Symphony in Times Square and had a really good experience. The ambience is nice and relaxed, and we did not have to wait long to be seated, which is a big plus in this area. The food was genuinely good. We ordered the triple Schezwan rice and paneer chilli, both of which were very well made and full of flavour. The naans were soft and fresh. The biggest surprise was the dal. It tasted exactly like proper homemade dal, simple and comforting, and easily one of the best dishes we had. One honest mention, I would not recommend the paneer tikka masala unless you like tangy gravies. It was slightly on the sour side for my taste, though someone who enjoys tangy flavours might like it. What really stood out was the hospitality. The manager, Rakesh Arban, was extremely warm and made sure we were comfortable throughout the meal. His way of handling guests really adds to the overall experience. Overall, good food, good ambience, and excellent service. Definitely a place worth trying if you are around Times Square.
I visited this restaurant with my parents, and it was their first time in New York City, USA. From the moment we arrived, the experience was excellent. Even though the restaurant was very busy, the manager arranged a table for us promptly. He greeted us politely, explained the menu patiently, and recommended dishes that were absolutely worth trying. My parents truly had a wonderful and memorable experience, and we were very happy with the hospitality. I usually do not write reviews; however, an incident during our visit compelled me to share my experience. A group of ten people entered the restaurant and initially requested seating for ten. Later, they asked for three separate tables placed together and questioned the server about the automatic gratuity policy, seemingly in an attempt to avoid the gratuity charge. They then approached the manager and demanded that the gratuity be voided. The manager handled the situation in a calm and highly professional manner, explaining the restaurant’s policy and clarifying that the gratuity is system-generated and cannot be removed manually. Unfortunately, the group continued to argue and did not respect the manager’s explanation, despite his polite and patient approach. As an Indian myself , I found this behavior extremely shameful . Every state and every restaurant has its own rules and policies, whether in India or elsewhere, and it is important to respect them. Guests should listen to management, understand restaurant policies, and treat service staff with courtesy and respect, especially when they are making a genuine effort to explain the rules.
Excellent food and service! Rakesh and his team are incredibly warm and attentive hosts, you feel at home eating here. Everything from the wine to the extremely tender and well-prepared goat curry (rare!) and tandoori chicken kebab were delicious. And finishing with the caramel custard was true treat. I could not recommend this more highly and this will be a regular place for great food for me. Try it, you will be well looked after! Thank you for an incredible experience, Rakesh.
I had an amazing experience at spice Symphony. Mr. Rakesh who is the restaurant manager served me. He was amazing!!! He offered me a customized drink based on my preferences. I would definitely come here again, and I recommend everyone to try their indo Chinese food, it is so authentic!
I had such a great experience here—the food was flavorful, comforting, and really hit the spot. The tandoori chicken was perfectly cooked, with that nice smoky char on the outside and tender meat inside, made even better with the fresh green chutney on top. The biryani was another highlight: aromatic, well-spiced, and packed with flavor, especially when paired with the cooling raita. I also tried the Triple Schezwan noodles, which had a nice kick and a good mix of veggies—different from the biryani but equally satisfying. To finish things off, the rasmalai for dessert was creamy, rich, and topped with crunchy nuts, making for a perfect sweet ending to the meal. Portions were generous, the presentation was inviting, and every dish had its own unique flavor profile that worked together beautifully. Overall, it felt like a really well-rounded dining experience that I’d happily go back for.
I have been too many Indian restaurants but the food here was definitely a step above. What is out there. Service was attentive, but not overbearing. Everything was on point. Would recommend without hesitation. Rakesh Arban did an outstanding job. Restaurant was fairly full when we walked in but he made things happen getting us a table quickly. I was torn between two items on the menu and he made it a point to go back to the kitchen and had something special made. It was right on point.
This restaurant is well decorated and maintained. The staff is really nice and the food is amazing. It’s always a good idea to book a table. We ordered Dal makhani and panner starters and everything was really good. The daal makhani could be a bit spicy rather than sweet tomato taste. Then, also I will recommend it.
Made reservations earlier the same day which allowed us to get in front of the line at the door and sit at a table when we arrived. Super nice, friendly staff from the moment we arrived until we left. Food was delicious and our kids had a great first experience having Indian food, it's hard to satisfy teenagers sometimes but they were enjoying the flavors from appetizers to main dishes as did my husband and I. With all New York has to offer, we were happy to find this restaurant close to our hotel which turned out to be such a delight. If you're in Times Square or Theatre District, walk on over and give them a try too, you'll be glad you did.
My husband and I are from CA and was in New York for just a few days. We looked around for restaurants and food this awesome India restaurant. The food was amazing, customer service was amazing will definitely come back if we are ever in the area again. A most try if you live India food. Omkar was awesome his customer service was awesome.
That was an outstanding experience! We really enjoyed our dinner in this stylish restaurant, with nice atmosphere. Thanks for the lovely music, it's not that we do not like Indian music but I find it too cliché to offer traditional music in any world cuisine restaurant. We were warmly welcomed by a friendly and well trained staff, and the manager Rakesh was very nice and with his recommendations and special attentions. We have tried many Indian restaurants as it is our favorite cuisine, and it was exceptional! We love eggplants and the dish was just divine. The breads were also very good. The samosas were just as perfect. Everything had just perfect seasonings, spices and was hot enough. In terms of value for the price we paid, that was very good. It even exceeded our expectations. The delicate desserts, the kheer full of flavors and the exquisite flan, were the cherry on the cake:, so delicious and and generous. Thank you all team, we shall visit you next time we come to Times Square. Do not hesitate or spend time searching for a place for Indian food, Spice Symphony is the best.
This place is absolutely incredible! From the moment I walked in, I was welcomed with such warmth and kindness. The staff here are some of the friendliest people I've ever encountered—always happy, cheerful, and genuinely eager to make your experience enjoyable. They greet everyone with a big smile, which instantly makes you feel comfortable and appreciated. The food is absolutely outstanding. Everything tastes incredibly fresh, well-prepared, and presented with such care. Although I’m not Indian myself, I’ve always loved Indian cuisine and have visited many Indian restaurants over the years. I can honestly say this is some of the best Indian food I’ve ever had—flavorful, authentic, and made with so much love. To top it all off, Arkesh, the owner (or manager) is such a wonderful person. He took the time to chat with me and even brought over a dessert to try. It was absolutely delicious and a perfect way to end the meal. This place truly stands out—not just for the food, but for the heart and hospitality behind it. I can’t wait to come back!
Reservations are probably required for busy times but we were able to walk in at about 530pm on a weekday and half the restaurant was empty Took us a while to get seated because the manager was busy on the phone which was annoying. We ordered their Triple Szechwan and at first it came out cold and extremely spicy. So we requested that they remake it and owner made sure it came out correctly spiced and hot second time around. The flavors were really good (albeit lacking salt sometimes) so we’ll be back to try their other North Indian dishes as well.
A nice and convenient location walking from the Times Square. The food was delicious and very close to authentic Indian flavors. We tried the Indian Chinese on the menu - Manchow Soup, Chilli Chicken, Vegetarian Manchurian, Hakka Noodles, and Fried Rice. We also tried one of the Shrimp Appetizers and it was great. I definitely recommend the Manchow soup and the chilli chicken.
I’m from 🇬🇧 so have experienced excellent curries for many many years. If people who eat at this restaurant having the only curry they’ve ever tasted, they will believe it’s the best they’ve ever tasted. We did not feel like this at all. It was terrible. We had chicken korma and chicken tikka masala. Both were spicy, presentation was terrible as they were dark brown (tikka masala is supposed to be red) and dark yellow (Korma is supposed to be yellow) and they tasted like Chinese chippy curry. My daughter (30) and my grandchildren love a korma BUT, they just couldn’t eat it. I love a Tikka Masala but again, I just couldn’t eat it. The only reason I’m giving the food a one star is because the Peshwari Naan was delicious. The restaurant is lovely and was absolutely packed which was a great sign but again, this I feel is because customers have only ever experienced curries from here and not experienced a ‘proper curry’. Service was good. We were very very disappointed, couldn’t eat it but paid for our meal. We can’t recommend because we feel it’s just terrible food. They do Chinese food too which answers my comment of why the curry tasted just like a Chinese chippy curry.
This was hands down the worst Indian food I’ve eaten in my entire life. As someone who grew up eating Indian food, I can confidently say this does not represent authentic or good Indian cuisine in any way. The food tasted stale, poorly made, and extremely overpriced for the quality. The paneer dish had literally three pieces of paneer, and even those were rubbery and very difficult to chew. I ended up eating only the gravy just to fill my stomach because we were already hungry and had already paid — otherwise, I wouldn’t have touched it. For the prices they charge, the quality is shockingly low. I genuinely don’t understand how this restaurant has such high ratings. If this is being presented as Indian food, it’s misleading and disappointing. Would not recommend at all.
