Opinions de Jasmine's New York
My server was very polite and well mannered. The food was amazing i give it 9 outta 10. My drink was 10 outta 10 which was the Brooklyn Boy. My server was also our bartender so deff 10 outta 10. The surf and turf was so good i ordered a side of mac N cheese and curry shrimp with white rice. My man also ordered a surf and turf (ate some of my mac N cheese and loved it so he ordered another side lol i really loved the steak i ordered well done and it was covered in sauce that was so good. I ordered a shot of wray & nephew and that made the night. I love that this place reminded me of home the authentic music and art work and vibes. Great service i booked reservations just in case but was well worth it. Thank you so much for making our Valentines Day Date night special :)
My family and I went to this place for some Caribbean food and loved it. Service is very good and food too. We had the coconut salmon, the curry chicken and curry shrimp.
The stewed chicken was delicious I loved the sauce and chicken was tender. The passionfruit margarita was great as well. Loved the vibes and played great afrobeats music.
I had an incredible time at Jasmine’s Caribbean Cuisine The food is absolutely top-tier—the oxtail was delicious and fall-off-the-bone tender, and the chicken pasta was flavorful and perfectly cooked. The vibes were 10/10 thanks to the amazing DJ who kept the energy high all night. Even though it was busy, the service was fast and the bartender made some excellent drinks. Definitely a new favorite spot in the area.
Recently had some friends visit from out of town and on a whim we decided to give this place a try. I will definitely be eating here again. The spot was very cute. The employees acknowledged us as soon as we entered and were super friendly, you can tell the staffed loved working here. Service with a smile is best described. Our host was amazing in helping us make our selections. The food was delish and so flavorful. Can’t wait to return.
Satisfied doesn’t even begin to cover it 👌🏾✨ I’d been hearing the hype about this place and had to see for myself while I was in town. I had the honor of meeting the owner (Chef Basil Jones, super cool convo 🙌🏾), devoured some Rasta Pasta with Oxtail 😍, and soaked in the vibes. Great food, great drinks, great people—10/10 recommend!”
Jasmine’s Caribbean cuisine is my favorite spot to taste the unique and robust flavors of the Caribbean. I’ve tried oxtail for the first time and it was so tasty. I particularly liked the curry chicken and their coconut rice! The hospitality is unmatched and the vibe is energetic. This is an absolute must visit for an amazing time!
More licentious mastication... WoW, great food in absolutely chill vibes. I had the ox tail, plantains, codfish fritters, and the rum punch. Would absolutely come here for date night, or group outings looking for an authentic Jamaican dinning experience. The staff is exquisite... Nashay, and Shanelle made all the customers feel like family! Jasmine's is an absolute must in NYC.
We visited after watching a show on Broadway. It was around 5pm. We did not have a reservation and they shared all the tables were full. We were offered a seat at the bar. It was cozy, and the bartender and servers were kind. They provided good recommendations and followed up with us throughout our time there. We ordered the coconut shrimp to shared and the oxtail dish. We got the bread pudding as recommended. Everything was delish!
I got the chance to try this restaurant for lunch! When I arrived I parked on the street nearby. I walked into the cutest restaurant! We sat and were served by Sal and he was great! We had: Rum Punch Codfish Fritters Peppa Shrimp Mac and cheese and callaloo Oxtail Stewed Chicken Carrot cake Velvet Cake The food was delicious and I loved the stewed chicken the most! The pepper Shrimp was spicy! All in all, it was a good time!
I love love this restaurant! During our stay in Manhattan for the July 4th weekend, we decided to visit Jasmine’s Caribbean Cuisine and let me tell you, it was lit! From the moment I walked it, it felt right. It’s a small, low key and very neat place. Great vibe, food was delicious and the live DJ was lit! My kids love the place. We will definitely visit again when we come back to NY!
Jasmine’s Caribbean is a laid back casual spot located right off Broadway. Perfect if you want some bites before or after a show, or if you just want to catch a vibe with some good eats. Jerk Chicken Wings - One thing about me, I love spice, so when the waitress said are you sure, I said bring it on. It definitely had that kick I was looking for. Devoured I was looking for. Peppa Shrimp - Just like the wings, nice and spicy. I was more than happy with these and their house made Pepper sauce. Lobster Tail - I knew I wanted to Surf and just look at that thing. Absolutely massive, well cooked, and so tasty. This did not disappoint. Jazzy Pasta - The pasta had some really nice ratios and I enjoyed a lot. But let me tell you now, when I added some of the Oxtails to this, it took this dish to another level. I HIGHLY recommend that you try it as well! Oxtail - Slow-cooked, and savory, fall off the bone…this is exactly what their menu said, and they didn’t tell a lie. I would eat this everyday if I could. I wanted to try it with rice, but I only have one stomach. That said, the combination with the pasta with amazing. Bread Pudding - This was the dessert I was looking. The soft, warm bread pudding was lathered with syrup and the vanilla ice cream was a perfect compliment. I thoroughly enjoyed Jasmine’s. Some people think that it’s impossible to find good Caribbean food outside of Harlem, but I suggest they give this spot a shot. There is a lot more I want to try in this menu, so I’ll see about that next time. Happy Eating!
Visiting New York Feb 2025. This restaurant should be listed on the NYC visitors guide. Beautiful and vibrant atmosphere. Wonderful staff. Our waitress was absolutely phenomenal!!! The food was delicious. My steak was perfectly cooked. The oxtails melted in my mouth and the jerk chicken was off the chain.
Came here for dinner on my birthday, I was not disappointed. The food was delicious and filling. Good portions! The Mac and cheese was your grandmother Mac and cheese that’s how flavorful it was. I had the curry chicken, it could have had a bit more curry but no complaints! I will definitely be back! Our waitress was patient and very attentive! The space is small, so I did feel a little cramped when people were seated beside me. But I had a good time, and it was good vibes only. Great food and music on my birthday? What more can I ask for!
I had the happy hour rum punch, wow! with cod fish fritters, pepper shrimp and calamari. Jasmine has a cozy vibe with very attentive staff..
Jerk had a good kick of spice to it without the sauce! The sweet plantains were a good side dish.
My friend and I celebrated our December birthdays there. First thing first, Austin who answered several of my calls prior to our reservation was super patient and kind. This was my first time there. It's a lot smaller than I thought buy cozy and inviting. I'm annoyed with myself because I didn't get the servers name. She was the best. So sweet, friendly and accommodating... a real gem. She took pics of us and was wonderful. The prices were very reasonable. We ordered the coconut shrimp and fried calamari as appetizers which were very fresh and delicious. We both had the Island Gyal cocktail which was not as strong as I would have liked but very nicely presented and taste very good. Out entrees were the curry shrimp with rice and peas and oxtail with rice and peas. The presentation again was on point and portion was good. I did expect the flavor to be a bit richer in the oxtail but was falling off the bone tender and I did like it. We both had a slice of red velvet cake at the end of our meal which was sooo good! I had a very nice time and enjoyed it very much. I do look forward to dining there again. Thank you to the amazing server who again was awesome!
It was like going uptown only to find a neighborhood restaurant. Small and cozy. The service was wonderful. Staff friendly and courteous. The food came right away. Even before the drinks, which by the way, did not disappoint. Cool glasses of iced water were replenished without asking. The atmosphere (close seating) was warm and inviting. The music was soft and had me bobbing my head to the melodies. But the expense, be prepared. Look at the menu before you go. Although tasty, wow! Definitely Manhattan prices. We ordered the Oxtail w/Jasmine Rice, broccoli and carrots. A side order of plantains. Stewed Chicken w/rice and veggies. Two drinks, tax and gratuity $130. Although, I enjoyed the experience, mostly because of the company. I probably will not return.
Ordered the oxtail meal for 38.00 small pieces of meat the usual. The meat had a nice spice to it. The cabbage was good and the coconut rice and peas stuck together clumps here and there . The food did come out piping hot which was great. I tried the crab cake very salty thank god I had water nearby. I tried the rum punch and the sorrel. Very nice refreshing drinks. On the way out be careful because you can possibly hit someone with the door 🚪. If they are standing behind it. Or you could possibly get hit yourself. Looks like an apartment door. Music was great and the decor was also nice. Happy eating.
Came here with a friend for dinner on a Friday evening. Service was great, attentive. Drinks: Was told the rum punch was good but pretty strong. My Sorrel was good, the cinnamon flavor really came out.Appetizers: Codfish fritters were over cooked. Main: (special) Jerk Salmon with spinach rice and broccoli- salmon was overcooked and the jerk sauce had no heat. Rice was wet and inedible, broccoli was good. Escovitch fish was okay but definitely lacking some seasoning. Side of callaloo was salty and left a lot to be desired.
Jasmine’s ambiance was super cute and inviting! However, I was a bit disappointed with the food—it didn’t quite live up to the hype from the reviews. The service was fine, and the curry chicken was actually really good. My dish was vegan, but the menu only listed it as “vegetables.” I believe it should clearly label what vegetables are included. Unfortunately, my meal came with a lot of corn, which I’m allergic to, and I ended up feeling sick later. I didn’t send my food back because I generally avoid doing that restaurants can sometimes take offense but it did affect my experience. On a positive note, the music and overall vibe were great! Jasmine’s has so much potential to be a superb restaurant, but I’d love to see more thoughtful and well-prepared vegan options. Also, the calamari came out in small bits and pieces instead of whole rings, which was surprising.
