Opinions de Jooy Tea Shoppe New York
Really love the drinks here. The fruit teas are super refreshing and the matcha drinks are great too. Staff works really hard to keep everything moving even when it’s busy. Definitely recommend!
the mango sticky rice was sooo good omg. The sticky rice was the perfect add of texture and was so fun to eat, it wasn't too sweet either and was extremely refreshing. Definitely recommend if you're in the area, can't wait to try the guava grape slushee next time!!🩷
Recently visited this spot for the first time as a big bubble tea fan, I had to try the bubble tea here. The shop is small but has seating available while you wait for your order. I got the Mango Pomelo with jelly, and my friend got the Thai tea. We also ordered a Mango Pomelo without boba and sticky rice for our coworkers. I loved my drink—it was so filling, it could be a whole meal! Everyone was satisfied with their orders, and we'll definitely be going back. The prices are average for bubble tea in the city, though every add-on comes with an additional cost.
Wow! There were SO many options on this menu it was hard to pick just one thing. I went for their specialty dragonfruit lychee drink because it sounded light and refreshing and it was exactly that. It was frozen which I didn’t expect but absolutely didn’t mind for the summer. The crystal boba was a bit hard but was fine, and there were pieces of fresh lychee at the bottom too which was delish!
Bubble bubble! Bubble tea! Quick on the go bubble tea! Location: it is located along 14th Street, the location easy to find. The interior is nice and clean, few seatings inside. Service: I just ordered on the kiosk. Food: I ordered HOJICHA LATTE with BOBA. I love hojicha and I felt like their hojicha is very authentic but I should have put 100% sugar instead of 75% because I felt like it needs more sweetness. The boba was chewy and soft! Price rating: 7 out of 10. I mean it is a regular bubble tea price. Paid around 8 bucks for the hojicha. Well all recommended! Will try other flavors next time!
Jooy Tea Shoppe always has a selection of fun and seasonal teas, as well as their staple favorites. The mochi sesame tea was delicious and it tasted similar to a cookies and cream flavor. Also, at Jooy Tea, you’re able to customize your tea using the kiosk in store. What a fun way to personalize your drink! I highly recommend giving them a try!
Strawberry matcha has consistently good quality. Strawberry syrup is real and on the better end of what I’ve had. Strawberry to matcha ratio is even, if matcha is not a bit weaker. Layers are relatively easy to mix. (70% sugar)
I have a few bones to pick with Jooy, but it definitely deserves 5 stars. This was my second time at Jooy and I ordered the persimmon milk (with soy milk and cheese foam) and the mochi n’ taro (with soy milk, cheese foam and extra taro). Persimmon Milk: I really liked the cheese foam in the persimmon milk, and trying persimmons in a drink was refreshing. The only thing I didn’t quite like was how icy the drink was — it gave me brain freeze. I would really love a cold persimmon-based drink without ice. Mochi N’ Taro: The cheese foam in this drink was somehow different. It was saltier, and I can’t decide which one I liked more. The taro was underwhelming, and definitely wasn’t as good as Debutea or Mogë Tee’s. The first time I went to Jooy (over a year ago), I hated their tea base options. I would’ve loved a black tea option without bergamot. So this time around I tried jasmine in my second drink. It was better, but still jarring. For a drink where the stars are the toppings, I would really want a tea base that would stay in the background. Some more drinks — Cheezo Bobo: I ordered this for the very simple reason that it is the only cold drink with the “no ice” option that already comes with the cheese foam, and on DoorDash I’m allowed to add another portion of it. I got taro puree, purple rice and mochi as toppings as well and, to my surprise, they came in a separate cup. Loved the thoughtfulness! The toppings I thoroughly enjoyed, except for the rather generic boba. I still don’t like jasmine as a tea base though. Cheezo Seasame: I love the name and the drink. I got it with sago and an extra portion of cheese foam. I’m obsessed with their cheese foam and the rich black sesame pairs well with it. I opted for soy milk instead of whole, but I did it out of habit, and wasn’t sure if it made any difference to the overall flavor. I would come back for this.
I've tried four different drinks from Jooy (at this and the 9th ave location). I really enjoyed the Strawberry Tornado drink and Grapefruit Smash. They are some of the best versions of their respective categories (strawberry slush with cheese foam, grapefruit slush) that I've had. I've also tried the lychee dragonfruit, which was good but not as good as the above. I tried a bit of the mango sticky rice, which was quite thick and hard to drink. Overall Jooy does fruit drinks excellently, and is always a great choice for boba!

Aesthetically pleasing. Very simple, cute and clean. You can order ahead on the app, order at the kiosk or with a staff. I got the golden passion fruit which came with 2 different jellies. So good!
Jooy Tea sells bubble tea, slushies, matcha, and fruit based drinks. I love how expensive the menu is, because it makes it a treasure hunt to find just the right drink to fit your mood. They make drinks quickly and usually you can sit and enjoy for the 15 minutes before the next round of people come through. Great choice by Union Square and NYU.
Huge variety and fun options. I didn't get the boba so my review is faulty but I did get the avocado smoothie thing. They don't charge extra for plant based milk, and you can choose the percentage of sugar you'd like which is really great. Could definitely use more decaf options!
They have got such good selection of fruit tea and bubble tea, giving me a hard time to decide which ones to go for. Picked two of their signature drinks and we weren’t disappointed at all. Highly recommended!
Their fruit drinks and smoothies are always in good quality. 💜Taro smoothie (milk) was super thick, I would recommend!
Love the convenience here. Quick orders. The storage boxes are in the main area, which makes the store look messy. But it seems like a clean store. It gets quite busy at times.
Wide variety of bubble teas and toppings. You can order from a kiosk . The pomelo mango was just delicious with lots of fresh fruit. We all ordered different items and they were all solid.
Nice tea shop near Union Square serving up bubble tea and classic tea. There's a mobile ordering kiosk inside but you can also just order at the counter. I had a hot classic jasmine tea with honey which was pretty good - there's only one size and it costs $5.50. There aren't any seats inside so I just took it to Union Square to enjoy while people watching.

Expensive for a place without a bathroom or nice seating, but drinks are delicious. If you don’t care about price, then taste wise is a 5/5 stars. Unique drinks and overwhelming large menu. We got the coconut boom and hojicha latte and both were delicious, I really loved the hojicha latte as it had a very rich flavor similar to melted hojicha ice cream, and it’s not nearly as common of an offering as matcha latte is.
I generally had a good experience with this place, and found most of their foods pretty fresh. This time however, after some walking, I brought my friend over to try it out and thought it would have been alright. The two ladies working there weren’t really friendly for some reason this time (I never seemed to notice this briskness before in the past). We eventually received our drinks and after putting the straw in, I noticed that the cap wasn’t attached very well, and some of the drink was overflowing. “That’s weird, what is happening today?” I thought. My friend didn’t like the drink as much as I would have liked, and I was a little down. After going to my friends place, we found what seemed to be little pieces of plastic in the food. Overall it was not a good experience whatsoever. The workers were seemingly rude and the plastic was unacceptable. A photo is attached of what we found at home after we drained it.

Got a jasmine milk tea, which is very watery with minimal tea flavor. Did 70% sugar as well and it felt like barely sweet taste.
decided to take a chance on an unfamiliar place to treat myself after a long week. i understand that there's a queue, but why did 50% sugar taste like straight up milk? ~$9 after tip is wild edit - not sure how to contact anyone but these are the details: Ticket #:6129 Order Time:03/06/2026 05:39 PM Estimated Pickup Time: 03/06/2026 05:39 PM Order ID #: W2ZW4R no worries, i won't be coming back
This was my second time visiting and first time was delish -I ordered the same drink- but this time there was a partial peach seed in the peach pulp of the drink. Also, the peach pulp in the bottom of my drink tasted really old and gross which was really disappointing. I was already in my train ride so that I wasn’t able to go back to complain about the taste and the seed, I ended up drinking just the top of the drink which was still good and threw away bottom half of the drink with the gross tasting pulp :( this drink was a seasonal drink - cheeso peach and I’ll never have this drink ever again.

Their customer service has a lot to he desired why would they care if I want no sugar in my drink? I'm ok with the taste, clearly! 😡 How can you claim to make your drinks with fresh fruit and not able to make it sugar free??
