It's my first time coming at Jue Lan Resturant. It's a wonderful place to relax with friends, family or couples. My favorite dish was the dumplings 😋. Also the tacos and oxtail I believe. Was very delicious I give it a 10+. The staff was very friendly. Always check on you now and then. I really recommend anyone to come to this place for a night out.
Overall, great service from Jipson and the team! It wasn't that busy this afternoon, but they still checked us every time they had the opportunity! I love how they treated me and I love how they were treating the tables around us! One of my favorite restaurants for dinner for that reason. No restaurant service compares to JIPSON OR The Jue Lan Team!
Vibe was nice, the staff was amazing. The DJ played all the best hits, my group was sitting in the front by the door. It was cold but the weather has been horrible with all of the low temperatures. I didn't order food but my group seem to enjoy the food that thwy had. Was there for a birthday gathering.
Jue Lan Club Manhattan One of my absolute go to spots in the city! From the moment you walk in, Jue Lan Club gives that upscale, intimate vibe dim lighting, elegant decor, and the kind of energy that makes any night feel special. The food here is always on point flavorful, beautifully plated, and served in perfect portions. I ordered the steak and the salmon, both cooked to perfection, juicy and tender. The fried lobster bites were a standout crispy, golden, and full of flavor. The crab and oysters were incredibly fresh too. Their cocktails? Chef’s kiss. Each sip was smooth and balanced the perfect way to start or end your meal. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the service matches the vibe refined but never pretentious. Definitely a Manhattan favorite of mine. Whether it’s date night, dinner with friends, or just treating yourself Jue Lan Club never disappoints. 🥂✨
I recently visited Jue Lan Club in NYC, and the experience was nothing short of incredible. The food was absolutely amazing—I’ve never had Asian cuisine this flavorful and perfectly executed. Every dish, from the appetizers to the desserts, was exceptional. One standout was the chicken satay (if I’m recalling the name correctly). It was phenomenal and left a lasting impression. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience, and I’m already looking forward to my next visit!
First time at Jue Lan Club for my friend’s 30th birthday and I had such a great time! My boyfriend and I sat at the bar as we were waiting for the party to walk in and we started with the lychee martinis. I think it’s one of their most popular drinks and I can see why! It’s slightly frozen with a lychee on top, so good! Once the party arrived, we made our way upstairs to the private room. I loved the ambiance there’s your own personal bar, tv’s and you can hook your phone up to Bluetooth. At the bar, my friend selected a few signature drinks so we had espresso martinis and a drink called purple rain all night. Both drinks were solid. The food was family style so we got to try a couple apps and entrees. The rock shrimp tempura was delicious, my favorite app! Since I don’t eat meat I didn’t get to try everything but what I did try would make me visit again. I took some vegetable fried rice with the shrimp, the perfect combo. At the end, we had some birthday cake and danced the night away. Would definitely recommend this spot for a private dinner party, to dine in or sit at the bar!
5 stars because the food was delicious. Drinks were tasty but not strong. Service was great and we had a large group so was pretty impressed by that that as well. The restaurant is dark and trendy. Vibey with a great music selection if you prefer hip hop & r&b. We sat inside, but they have a really cute Casamigos decorated patio.
Jue Lan is a vibe. I visited while in New York last week. We ordered the Short Rib Bao Buns for starters and let me tell you..... FIRE! The entrees were good. The filet was tender. I would definitely recommend sharing seeing as the portions were very big. I would recommend this restaurant and would return.
Came on Thursday night for restaurant week. They had a really great selection for appetizers. Entrees and dessert. Our server was absolutely wonderful. I do not remember his name, but he was very kind. And sweet and funny, the food was really good. We each had one of the appetizers, which was edamame dumplings, spring rolls, chicken satay (which was okay), the crispy wontons and the rock tempura shrimp and those was really good. For entree, we had the shrimp lo mein, salmon and the steak bites. Everything was really great, seasoned to perfection and dessert was also good.
This place is a whole vibe. Super trendy and chic; dope ambiance, fire music, and dim lighting. The food was amazing as well. Fresh/ high quality ingredients and I was even more impressed that we had a super large party but all of the food came out at the same time and was hot and fresh. The deviled eggs were delectable, the filling was so light and velvety. I also had the shrimp lo mein which I loved how they weren't stingy with the shrimp and they were very nice sized as well. The pork fried rice had nice sizes of shredded pork, almost felt like ribs, in it. The filet mignon was very tender and the chicken wings were fried perfectly, extremely crisp and seasoned. The service was also on point and friendly all across the board. I'd def recommend this spot and can't wait to return.
We were seated right at the time of our reservation-no additional wait. Service was great. The food was overpriced. Ambiance and decor was beautiful, but not sure that I’d return as the food quality and taste isn’t worth the price. The waiter was very patient. You come here to party with friends, and socialize. If you want great food, go someplace else.
Elegant and chic, Jue Lan Club is a must-visit dining destination located in the heart of New York City. From the stunning decor to the delicious food and drinks, everything about this restaurant exudes sophistication and luxury. The restaurant's interior is simply breathtaking, with high ceilings, dim lighting, and plush furnishings creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The bar area is particularly impressive, with a beautiful marble countertop and a vast selection of premium liquors and cocktails. But what really sets Jue Lan Club apart is the food. The menu features a wide range of Chinese-inspired dishes, each one beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. Standout dishes include the crispy Peking duck, the succulent short ribs, and the mouth-watering shrimp dumplings. The sushi is also not to be missed, with fresh, melt-in-your-mouth fish and creative flavor combinations that will leave you wanting more. In addition to the delicious food, Jue Lan Club also offers a fantastic selection of drinks, including specialty cocktails and a well-curated wine list. The bartenders are knowledgeable and skilled, and they are always happy to make recommendations based on your preferences. But perhaps the best thing about Jue Lan Club is the impeccable service. The staff is friendly, attentive, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure that your dining experience is unforgettable. From the moment you walk in the door to the moment you leave, you'll feel pampered and well taken care of. Overall, Jue Lan Club is a must-visit for anyone who loves great food, great drinks, and great service. With its elegant decor, mouth-watering menu, and top-notch service, it's the perfect place to celebrate a special occasion or simply indulge in some of the best Chinese-inspired cuisine that New York City has to offer.
This place is definitely a vibe! I’ve been here on a Sunday evening and they have hip hop music playing and a good energy all round. The meals and service are top notch. It is definitely on the pricier side for Chinese food, but you pay for the experience and the quality and quantity. I do believe you get much larger portions here than other restaurants, which makes it worth the price. My favorites are the crispy rock shrimp tempura and the pan fried pork and chive dumplings! You really can’t go wrong with anything on this menu. It is all so good! I highly recommend visiting this place for good vibes and good food!
So yesterday is my 35th birthday and I wanted to come here and celebrate now there was another person there at the bar who was celebrating their birthday. I just felt that the service could’ve gave me a little more attention as well. The restaurant was practically empty but majority of them were Servicing the other woman at the bar more than me and my partner, but the food was OK atmosphere was beautiful. That’s all I really have to say about it.
This was the first stop for NYC restaurant week “24”. (Jan 2024) Reservations were made for three on Open Table, and when we arrived we were seated right away. As per previous reviews JLC is dimly lit, going for the trendy chic vibe. The restaurant week offer was 3 courses for $45. We went with three different appetizers and shared. Crispy Rock Shrimp Tempura, Vegetable Spring Rolls and Crispy Chicken Wontons. The top two were the chicken wontons and rock shrimp. For an entrée I chose the slow cooked glazed salmon and so did a friend. I was not impressed and truthful neither was my friend. The salmon was slightly overcooked rendering it a tad dry and I was not pleased with the glaze. Another dining companion order the Pow Pow Beef and was in-love, too bad I don't eat beef. For desserts we tried the Chocolate Lava Cake and Everyday's Your Birthday Cake, the ladder was also dry. The cocktails we tried were the Dusse Sidecar & Lychee Martini both were very tasty @ $20 a glass. Overall give them a try if you haven't already, the apps were a hit. Keep in mind it is Asian cuisine on the higher end in retrospect to what one may expect. Just A Note: Restaurant Week is a great way to "taste test" if you're not sure.
Yesterday, I went out to celebrate my best friend’s dinner and was extremely disappointed with the service. I clearly informed the waitress that I wanted my food cooked well done. When my meal arrived, it was visibly undercooked. I politely asked the staff if my order could be corrected since it was not prepared as requested. Instead of addressing the issue professionally, the waitress abruptly snatched my plate and stated that the restaurant does not accommodate situations like this. Her response was rude, dismissive, and completely inappropriate. This interaction made the rest of the evening uncomfortable and overshadowed what was meant to be a celebratory occasion. Customer service is just as important as food quality, and unfortunately, this experience fell far below acceptable standards. I am very disappointed with how the situation was handled and would not recommend this restaurant based on the lack of professionalism and respect shown by the staff.
I've been to this restaurant a bunch of times and have always had an amazing time. Unfortunately this time I went for my birthday dinner I was left disappointed. It started when I called a few days in advance asking to reserve one of the booths for my party and I . The server was rude and said they are unable to reserve booths. (Which is untrue because we've reserved booths in previous years) Upon arrival, the same rude host was at the host stand and was not warm or welcoming in her greeting. Maybe she was having a bad week. I had flowers and small macaroons for my guests that I wanted to set them on the table before everyone arrived. I asked the host if I can place them on the table and she rudely said no, because the table was full with menus. (After we were seated I saw the menus were stacked on top of each other and the flowers could have been placed easily on top of the menus. There was also plenty of room for the small party favors) After dinner I went to the bar and wanted to order my guests and I a shot before we headed out. I leaned over the bar on the side where the bartender places his drinks and he moved my arms over because I seemed to be in his way. He shouldn't have touched me in the first place and could have said excuse me. I ended up leaving not ordering anything and it was an overall negative experience. I'm not Sure if they're under new management but this new staff is not hospitable, lack manners, poorly trained and rude.
Title: JUE LAN RUINED MY DAUGHTER’S BIRTHDAY — DO NOT GO We started with the original Mr. Chow over 20 years ago and have been visiting the spin-offs for the past 10 — Phillipe Chow, Red Sticks, Sei Less (I know my history, and I know theirs). We’ve been to Jue Lan a few times-my daughter gets take from there about 3 times a month, and we’ve had good experiences — until my daughter’s birthday, which they completely destroyed. Our party of 15 came to celebrate her special day, and it was an absolute nightmare. We paid premium prices for what is marketed as a high-end dining experience, and what we got was cold, sloppy, disrespectful, and utterly humiliating service. My daughter’s birthday was ruined. The restaurant was nearly empty, yet they seated us like we were a burden. Our server was checked out, lazy, and completely uninterested, clearly just waiting to go home. They are used to 20-somethings taking photos for Instagram — we are professional adults, CEOs and VPs at top companies — and they treated us like we didn’t matter. They played with us. I can see exactly how they mistreat the social media youth who don’t know about quality, value, or upscale treatment. The food was a joke: Chilean Seabass with a thick, slimy sauce and pineapples thrown in — two orders untouched. Lobster tacos tasting weird and unpalatable. Most dishes served lukewarm or worse. Chicken satay sauce cold, because apparently “warm” is too much to ask. We specifically asked for plain ice cream for my daughter — it came with three toppings they didn’t care we didn’t want. After the meal, our table was left piled with dirty dishes. We sang happy birthday — no one offered to cut the cake. When we asked for the table cleared, it was ignored. After I paid in full, I spoke to the manager. And this man… looked at me like “so what, I got paid”. Not a word of apology. Not a shred of professionalism. Just a smug, disgusting stare that screamed, “Your satisfaction means nothing.” As someone in the hospitality industry, I know late-night staff can be tired — but this is not just tired, this is incompetence, arrogance, and total disrespect. My daughter’s birthday was destroyed. We spent top dollar. The only way to salvage the night was going to McDonald’s afterward.(what's crazy is they didnt see how much food was uneaten) Jue Lan doesn’t care about birthdays, families, or paying customers. They care about looking trendy on Instagram while serving a toxic experience. Do yourself a favor: go to Mr. Chow or Sei Less. Do not, under any circumstances, waste your money, your time, or your special occasion at Jue Lan. EVER. Wannabe social media grab!! plenty of other picture worthy, trendy spots
I truly wanted to like them because the location is very pretty, the happy hour is fun and the people who work there are nice but there was a bug in my food which I unfortunately didn’t notice until after I ate the edamame dumplings and I was unable to eat anything after that because it just ruined my appetite, the worst part? It was my birthday dinner so that was ruined. Up until that point, we had some really good drinks at the bar while we waited for our party to get to the table. It’s just a bummer that a place this “cool” would miss something like that. It wasn’t even a little big either. Pic attached. If you choose to dine here, make sure you look at your food before you start eating and proceed with caution.
This was my favorite resturant at one point I’ve been here over 10 times and throughout the years and I would t be surprised if they’re going out of business soon! From the food to ambiance. Nothing special anymore. Even portions have been cut in half. They went from having lines out the door to pretty much empty for a reason. And they’ll always seat you in their basic rooms to make it look as if they’re full but they’re not . I’ll still go because I work near by and the food is decent but I wouldn’t bother dressing up anymore. A basic outfit on a regular day would do (not a birthday spot anymore) just over priced ghetto but decent Asian food if I’m being honest I wouldn’t go out of my way to go here! Very disappointing to be honest.
My boyfriend and I “celebrated”my birthday here last night. The service was monstrously horrible. To say it was slow would be being generous. I think the waiters there hate their jobs; some are pleasant and others aren’t. Some items on the menu aren’t even there and what they offer instead is very poorly executed. I ordered the filet mignon but instead got the “cubed” filet mignon with broccoli. It was ok, I feel like they cooked each item separately and added them all together on the plate because everything had a different temperature when I tasted it. The jerk tacos was very COLD; like it came out of the fridge. Lastly, no one even acknowledged that a Birthday was being celebrated at the table; we waiting over 30 mins for the chocolate lava cake and not even a “happy birthday” was written on the cake. This will be our last time at Jue lan club, it’s not what it used to be. There’s better restaurants like sei Les and Philippe Chow.
