Opinions de Justino's Pizza New York
Have tried a few local places since frequenting this area over the past year . Pizza is something we all love when we can't make up our minds . It satisfies the need to warm your insides and satiate both the need to see and smell something delicious before devouring. Justino's wins hands down in this neighborhood for a tasty pie. It's not just the crisp crusts or tasty tomato topping , but the other treats on the menu. Everybody thinks they can make Italian ....few actually perfect it! Keep it up Justino's you have a fan.
Brought the whole family, and everyone loved it! The kids’ menu had great options, and the staff was so welcoming. Definitely a great family dining choice!
One of my favorite pizza places in NYC. Strangely their cheese slice is actually below average but their speciality slices are tremendous. Just get a grandma instead and be happy. Particularly great are the chicken Parm and the bruschetta slices.
Staff was very helpful & accommodating. My slice of pizza was so good I would have ordered another one if I didn't have to get back to work.
I often go and eat delicious pizza 🍕
Tasty sauce, perfect crust. Stick with a plain slice. Usually pretty quick service, though it can get pretty busy around lunch. Can't beat the price! Highly recommended for a slice of classic nyc style pizza.
The biggest slices I've ever seen and the sauce is to die for. My favorite is the Margarita the fusion of flavors mend well together. Don't play yourself and order two, once slice is enough; lol. Enjoy
I was there when the lady who wrote the one star review was getting her pizza. The only thing I can say, is that I am glad I didn't listen to her. Justino's is a "hole in the wall," but it some of the best pizza I've ever had (I grew up in NYC). If you're on the West Side near Central Park or staying in a hotel near there, get the pizza. You won't be sorry. But do pay attention to the possibility that they don't take credit cards.
Wow! Justino's has definitely got the best pizza in town. Every few months I go to my doctor's office on W59th street, and for lunch I must have Justino's pizza. Their slices are larger than other pizzerias, but they are still reasonably priced. My 2 cheese slices and a bottle of water cost me just over $7. Also, try their heroes. They're very filling, so take half home for dinner! Enjoy! 🍕
Ordered through Uber eats. For Pizza I like to pay extra to be the first delivery. I made a note to make the pizza extra hot. And it sure was hot by the time it got to me. And its the best pizza I had so far in this area.
I go almost every week. Their pizzas taste better than most other places. The slices are also bigger than most other places. The quality is so much better that I pass several other restaurants including other pizza places that aren't bad themselves to get these slices. They are quite an unassuming business but they deserve more fame for the quality given
If you want great pizza, JUSTINO'S is the place to go! Super fresh and delicious. And they have many different ingredients to choose from. Also one of the few pizzarias to have thee most delisious rice balls in town! I go here multiple times a week and i havent had anything on the Menu that wasnt finger licking good. The salads are super delisious, and they pair well with any Entree. Now when it comes to desserts, My oh my they are just a Treat. The Tiramisu and the Cheesecake will have you coming back for more. The staff are super friendly and will always greet you with a smile. Also if you look in the back you will always see someone making and flipping the pizza dough fresh to order. Conveniently located in Hellz Kitchen and just blocks away from Columbus Circle. Whether your on your lunch break locally or having a work party and looking for great pizza pies to order.... JUSTINO'S is the way to go!
Really great community spot, I've gotten the cheese slices more than a few times, but today I sprung for a meatball Parm, and it was just as satisfying. It's a great deal and great people that's what New York's all about.
Best slice of pizza in a 10 mile radius! If you like real cheese and lots of meats , this is the place. Besides the pizza tasting great, I really appreciate that when you bite or tear a piece off, the toppings and cheese don't slide or fall off. The cheese stretches off with every bite. Best pizza!
We are visiting from out of town, and last night there was a major power outage in the upper west side of Manhattan. Many were impacted and there was a lot of panic in the area. None more panicked than my hungry 8 year old. While other restaurants in the area were dead in the water, the kind people at Justino’s used the lights from their phones to invite us in, and we were able to get a few slices for a late dinner. For a slice place, the pizza was excellent. My favorite was the chicken parm, but my daughter had the plain cheese and loved it. I think it says a lot about the fiber of a business to see them calm and collected during an otherwise chaotic time, such as an unprecedented in 42 years power outage. In summary- great owners and people, great pizza. Highly recommend ignoring negative reviews (that honestly had scared us off if not for the power outage), and checking it out for yourself.
Consistently one my favorite pizzas.
Slices are generously sized for $2.50. Sauce is very important to me and it's always been good in their oven baked authentic New York style pizza. Has a small area to stand and eat. No tables or chairs, so it's best to grab it and go. They take Cash and Card.
Clean and well organized 🍕 pizza place with inside seating that is comfortable, staff is friendly, CASHIER though can be a little bit more friendlier ☹,Pizza that I ordered was well made and not salty it was cooked very well ,will purchase from again 👍 I recommend this place to others
This “little hole in the wall” pizza shop is awesome. The slices were oversized, the crust was crunchy, & the price was cheap. Highly recommend stopping in for a slice.
Fresh and tasty pizza with a wide variety of flavors.
Got 2 slices of cheese pizza (which got me a free fountain pepsi) and garlic knots. Food came fast and fresh, and it delicious and the portions were huge. All for a super reasonable price. Service was great as well. Definitely recommend if you want New York pizza!
Came here at 7pm before class, just one slice filled me up. There is a variety of pizza and I love their sausage & pepperoni! It’s so calm and quiet and just an amazing environment! Definitely recommend!
Some solid neighborhood za, love me a margherita with some salt sprinkled on top
Open late! Very great customer service. Got 2 slices for me and my and a large fry. He said the pepperoni bacon was good but greasy. The white slice I had was so garlicky that I actually felt sick and couldn't take more than a couple of bites. I ended up tossing it. *They gave me a free fountain soda for this review.*
I love this place! So grateful to have learned about Justino’s after being discharged from hospital across the street! Everything is delish! The garlic knot with chicken & mozzarella is next level yummmm! The pizza is NYC PERFECTION The staff is sweet & kind. The place is clean. The music is great. Love at first slice!!!
I am from Virginia but born in New York. Came to NY for a couple days and of course require the basics - pizza and bagels. Googled some close places to the hotel and Justinos Came up. Fast, friendly, delicious. Myself, my friend and even my picky daughter demolished it. Definitely recommend!
Great little pizza joint in the neighborhood. They had a lot of variety for pizzas and the slices are in big portions. Crust is thin and crispy. Staff was super friendly and there wasn’t too long of a wait. The only wait time was when they heat up your pizza slice in the oven. They also have real Hawaiian with ham slices. Will come again!
Food is way to good. Ive been to many places like this but out of all, the pizza and wings here are best. The food looked amazing and did not disappoint. The buffalo wings were spicy and i am sensitive to spice so i felt like it was on fire, well cooked and overall was great. The pizza slices were gigantic and came with lots of cheese and pepperoni. While i loved the food the setup really confused me. There is a line to order that is also used to pay and another to wait so people would often ask me if i was ordering or waiting and where to go. Overall amazing food and will come back.
These guys are absolutely amazing. The pasta sauce is fantastic. It's all about the sauce anybody can boil noodles. Have you eaten in this place and the owner has come out to personally check and see if our entrees were good and obviously takes pride in his food. There's some old Italian Guys in the back cooking the food.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Justino’s never disappoints! I got two slices of pepperoni and sausage pizza and, as usual, the sauce was simply amazing! Those huge slices hit the spot. What really stole the show though was the appetizer sampler. Me, my daughter, and her dad absolutely tore it up! It came with calamari, mozzarella sticks, and buffalo wings, plus this special sauce for the calamari. I don’t know what’s in it, but it was soooo good. The calamari was perfectly crunchy and not overcooked, the wings were seasoned just right, and the mozzarella sticks were decent (my daughter enjoyed those more than I did). Overall, the food was divine, the flavors blended so well, and everything tasted fresh. Definitely one of my go-to spots in Manhattan.
Justino's Pizza is hands down one of the best local NYC pizza places I have ever had the pleasure of dining at. Whether you're a local or just visiting the city, this is the spot to get your pizza fix! The moment you step inside, you're greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The staff is friendly, attentive, and always eager to help. The place is bustling with energy, which adds to the overall experience. Now, let's talk about the pizza itself. Justino's truly delivers on all fronts. The crust is perfection—thin, crispy, and expertly charred. It's evident that they use high-quality ingredients in their dough, resulting in a flavorful and chewy base. The sauce is tangy and well-balanced, complementing the toppings beautifully. Speaking of toppings, Justino's offers a wide variety to satisfy all taste buds. Whether you're a traditionalist who loves a classic Margherita or someone who craves unique flavor combinations, they have you covered. From the classic pepperoni to the adventurous prosciutto and arugula, there's something for everyone. The cheese used at Justino's is simply divine. Stretchy, melty, and generously applied, it forms a perfect harmony with the other ingredients. It's clear that they use quality cheese that's fresh and full of flavor. Aside from pizza, Justino's offers an array of mouthwatering sides and appetizers. From garlic knots to crispy mozzarella sticks, each bite is a delight. And let's not forget about their refreshing salads, which are a great accompaniment to the main attraction. The prices at Justino's are reasonable, especially considering the quality and quantity you receive. It's the perfect place to grab a quick slice on the go or to have a sit-down meal with friends and family. One thing to note is that Justino's can get busy during peak hours, so it's wise to plan accordingly or make a reservation if you prefer a more relaxed dining experience. Now let me dive into some specific pizzas that have left me craving for more. Their classic Margherita pizza is a work of art. The combination of fresh basil, tomatoes, and mozzarella cheese is simply divine. Each bite bursts with flavor, and the simplicity of this pizza allows the quality of the ingredients to shine through. If you're a meat lover, I highly recommend trying their Meat Lovers Pizza. It's a carnivore's dream come true, loaded with a generous amount of pepperoni, sausage, bacon, and ham. The flavors meld together perfectly, and the meat is cooked to perfection, adding a delightful smokiness to each bite. For those with a more adventurous palate, their BBQ Chicken Pizza is a must-try. The tangy barbecue sauce, tender grilled chicken, red onions, and cilantro create a unique flavor profile that is both satisfying and crave-worthy. It's a delightful twist on a classic favorite. If you're in the mood for something a bit lighter, their Veggie Supreme Pizza is a fantastic choice. Packed with a colorful array of fresh vegetables, including bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, and olives, it's a refreshing and guilt-free option. The combination of flavors and textures is truly satisfying, and you won't even miss the meat.
I looked for a NY pizza place close to where I am staying and Justino’s did not disappoint! The variety of choices is amazing, the speed of service, friendly staff AND fresh pizza make this place awesome. Prices were very inexpensive and competitive. The restaurant has a good amount of seating and it is kept very clean. I will definitely come again. I highly recommend this place.
Usually order from here—pizza is fine. Typically they are quick in making pizza. Today we ordered delivery, delivered in timely fashion; however, they gave us the wrong pizza topping ($5 per topping) :( But then they offered to fix the problem. Cool!
Justino's is great. The only downside is that there is no seating (it is basically just a counter and an oven). The slices are huge and delicious. During lunch the workers move very fast so you have to be paying attention incase you are waiting outside of the doorstep and your order is ready. Overall delicious
This is a hole in the wall, but boy do they have some great pizza. There's a huge variety, so check it all out. I love the spincah alfredo and grandma slice. The prices are a little high, but the slices are worth it. Still a bargain if you can get full on two slices. Definitely worth checking out!
Update: they expanded! Moved next door to a beautiful sit-down space. Quality hasn’t changed. This very tiny store-front has barely enough room for three to stand comfortably. Be prepared to shuffle around or stand outside. The employees are always courteous but there's little time for banter in this no-frills carry-out only joint. The slices are generously portioned. Have your money ready to go since they move quickly. You pay once you've received your order not beforehand. Prices can be a bit steep if you love to go wild with toppings but otherwise relatively comparable to other pizza joints. They are heavy on the cheese, Brooklyn-style thin foldable eats that drip. Sauce is flavorful, crust has crisp and overall it stands out in the neighborhood. They offer a full menu of Italian, but pizza is their loyal fanbase go-to. Pizza by the slice is served on a paper plate then bagged so best to enjoy it quickly.
It's our go to in the neighborhood. Reasonable prices and quality is good. Passionate sushi chef- owner. We love the spicy girl special roll and make a point of trying the king salmon, it's heavenly! Service isn't great but they try hard. If we order take out we pick up cause our apt is hard to find. We usually leave very happy.
My coworker got a slice and let me taste it. Her cheese less slice was delicious. I can only imagine how it is with cheese and meat. I’ll revisit this review the next time I try it with meat and cheese.
A little bit confusing if you haven't been here before. Had a few slices, one was great and the other was a bad choice. I expected the chicken and tomato slice to have some flavour but it was literally diced tomato and cooked chicken. The ham and pineapple was good and apparently the other slices had by the others were quite good. Atmosphere was authentic and so were the people behind the counter.
My go to when stopping by is the Margherita slice, Sicilians are pretty good as well. However despite having tons of variety when it comes to toppings, the other slices like the various chicken, vodka, and meats slices/toppings are ridiculously priced considering the quality of said slices, even given the area! The regular cheese slice is a little underwhelming as well, and most of the multi topping slices seem overly sauced on top of being overly priced in my opinion. I stick to the Margheritas or sicilians👌🏼
I was walking around and I was hungry for pizza. Google recommend Justino… The service is fast and the pizza is very tasty. They don't have Coca Cola but Pepsi. They don't provide napkins or glasses... the service is quite precarious and the place leaves something to be desired but I repeat: the pizza is delicious and the prices are very cheap.
This is one of my favorite specialty pizza places in the area. We recently ordered delivery. They stacked all the slices on top of each other making quite the mess, they didn’t even use a plastic table to keep the top of the box off the pizza (see picture). Extremely disappointing order! We also ordered Mozzarella Sticks for the first and last time as they seem to use frozen ones that are completely lacking. The salad was delicious and fresh! Lost the fifth star for the way they load their pizza box. It’s a stupid way to load it and they always do this. I don’t understand; this is the only pizza place that uses this method...I think we all can guess why, and it’s not that they are innovators!
Justino’s is open late which is a huge plus. There is much better pizza in the area, but the staff are accommodating and it’s a great option if you are really hungry and it’s late at night.
Great salads and pizza. Nice staff many options They don’t charge the customer when we use a bank card versus cash. Updating my review: Delivery incorrect twice now. Food def not as good as first time we went. They need the owner or a manager to answer the phone. Person answering i think was cook As well. Too much for one person to do. I won’t order again but my husband still likes their salads
They have huge selection of pies, so I got a selection. most of which are pretty good, taste and quality wise. The staff before the cashier station we're so lazy and they had to be prompted to offer service. The cashier was friendly and helpful. The regular pies are really good but the slice of Sicilian was pretty bad.
Usually I order in but went to pick up food. Nobody knew what I was talking about when I ordered a mozzarella and tomato salad. Woman at the counter told me they don't have it even though it was on the menu above her head. They finally realized that they do serve it but wasn't happy to have to fight over what's clearly on their menu. Learn your menu if you work there!
Pizza was eh ok, service wasn’t the most memorable either
Pizza was ok. Not like it used to be when I lived just above the small shop that barely fit more than 4 people standing room only. They must have changed the dough. The crust tasted very plain. No flavor. The restaurant was kind of dirty too. The only saving grace was that the bathroom was spot less. Total 18 dollars for three slices, some with topping and a fountain soda. On the pricey side.
I recently tried Justino Pizza and was impressed with the quality of their pizza—it was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The crust had a great texture, and the toppings were well-balanced. However, I was a bit disappointed with the fries, which were undercooked and lacked the crispiness I was expecting. Also, the service at the counter could have been better—the cashier came across as a bit rude, which took away from the overall experience. Overall, the pizza alone makes it worth a visit, but there’s definitely room for improvement in both sides and customer service.
So they say even bad pizza is good. This place proved that wrong. Just nothing good about it for me. Cheese tasted fake. Grandmas was way over cooked and the pepperoni was a gross slice.
I was given the wrong change here and paid way too much for a single slice of pizza. On top of that there was a huge crowd for whatever reason so I couldn’t shove my way back to get the actual change I was owed. Don’t charge me 4 and change for a single slice that’s ridiculous. Granted it is the city? But Iv seen a lot better.
I’ve ordered justino’s through seamless many times and often get their garlic rolls, a cheese pie, and fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. The food started off great and justino’s became one of our regulars, but over time the quality of the pizza and the pasta / sauce declined. We just recently ordered from them again to check on the quality of their food and the pizza was very good but the garlic knots were basically just dry bread with a lot of garlic pieces stuck to the outside and the Alfredo sauce has only gotten worse. Their mozzarella sticks and marinara were good which makes me think a red sauce dish would have been a better choice.
Pizza crust was pretty dry and burnt. We asked for a refill of soda, but they don't do free refills. We also asked to fill a water bottle and they refused that too... and the bathroom was nasty as well. There's better pizza than this all over the city.
Should’ve listened to previous reviews. “Yani” the cashier was very rude. She had the nastiest attitude and the face to match. She was also rude to other customers. It’s unfortunate because the food I ordered was delicious. The eggplant parmigiana was so good!! I’d go back if they changed cashier. Other than that I won’t be back.
This has to be home of the pizza and hell for a salad. The pizza don’t get me wrong was delicious but the salad no, I had the Cesar salad and it came with lettuce and croutons, I got no cheese even though it was supposed to come with cheese and the sauce tasted like pure mayonnaise, I don’t know what kind of joke this is because on top of it all there is this slimey thing on my salad, I literally just threw up, and my head hurts. I AM NEVER BUYING AGAIN.
Food here is good, but the counter person Janet gave me tons of attitude when I asked for a wrap that wasn't on their wrap menu but right next to the wrap menu is a "create your own" menu that had everything I asked for. It just seemed like a little much and ruined the experience for me.
Completely incompetent. We ordered online from a hotel 2 minutes away. it said 30 to 50 minutes. When we called 1 hour later, they said it would be right there. 30 minutes after that, we called again and they said it would be right there. After two hours we called to cancel and the woman said "it just went out the door" When I called to ask for the manager they put me on hold for 5 minutes. The manager said "we had one delivery too many and it's raining". Finally agreed to give our money back (not sure if I believe them though). Slow and they lie to customers about pizza being ready. don't use them. I can see below that a year ago someone at this same hotel got cold pizza and the staff were just a rude. I guess the owner says he'll fix things, but doesn't really.
The delivery was wrong. They re delivered it and when the delivery guy came he wanted to trade me for the old one which I just hadn’t expect- he said what’s wrong with you man go get the wrong pizza. I was kind of just in shock and was ready to go get the wrong one and he walked out the door upset at me. Super weird and strange interaction, horrible pizza. Cheese and toppings had slid everywhere in the box when it arrived. Frankly, I would have gone back up and given him the trash pizza back if he waited another 5 min for me to do it, and would have written this same review no matter what.
Horrible pizza & service! I'm staying at a nearby hotel & the guy taking my delivery order was INCREDIBLY RUDE, demanded cash- when I said I only have a credit card he rudely said "BYE" and "go find an ATM"! So after traveling 12 hours today to get to the city I had to go find an ATM to give them cash. Then the pizza got here and it was cold, soggy and not what I ordered!! The worst pizza I've ever had in New York and I'm here several times a month. Don't waste your money here! (Oh...AND it was overpriced!)
Rude! I have been twice. I see why no women work there. The only reason they get business is because like me rookie are tourists and desperate for a quick food option. Never again. If you want great pizza and good service in That area go to Farella!
Used to be my go to pizza shop on the upper west side but now I won’t be buying food from here again. Ordered a couple slices and one of them had a piece of hair on it. When I took the pizza back to the guy, he laughed at me and said it’s my hair because he didn’t have any, as of facial hair means nothing and he was the only person there. I wasn’t even asking for a refund, just for a fresh slice and they wouldn’t do it. They laughed at me as if I’m supposed to be embarrassed over their lack of customer service. I’ve learned that when they’re busy, don’t go, look elsewhere because they truly don’t care about their customers, only the money.
Ordered a small Hawaiian pizza. Took them 2 hours to get it to me, once it arrived the pizza was burnt. Called again about it and they said they’d be sending in another pizza in 20 minutes but it’s been an hour now and the pizza isn’t there. Called multiple times to check on it and they wouldn’t pick up the calls from my phone so I had to use a different number. When I finally got through to the manager he hanged up on me twice without even confirming how long it would take for my pizza to arrive let alone on whether they’d still charge me. Mistakes do happen and it’s understandable but how they handled this was just plain unacceptable. It’s now 3 hours since I first called to order the pizza and I’m hangry!
This place is really busy because of the college students however, the workers do not know how to accommodate clients! Called in for and order to save me hassle and time and cashier stated “the guys on the back don’t like to take pick up orders less than 10 Dollars” basically have to go in and wait for what I wanted ! Measly garlic bread for my pasta ! ridiculous rule !
Gave me the wrong box, then accused me of having picked up the pizza as if I was trying to scam them after I came back when I found out. Eventually got the slices, but what an obnoxious experience.
Server was extremely rude , served others before me , burnt my pizza and was very rude when I requested a better slice. Will not come ever again.
Food is not good for the price. Chicken roll still tasted cold. Not coming back.
The pizza is okay. A bit greasy and thin. The cashier dropped coins on my pizza and refused to serve me a new slice. As a paying repeat customer I’m not coming back.
Gimme a barf bag. Take a look my meatball parm with side of pasta. ... UGH. For starters , I ordered a meatball parm..it comes on a roll guys! And is that 2 pound bocci ball supposed to be a meatball? It was a flavorless chunk of burnt chopmeat . And no I didn't chew the pasta and spit it back out in my dish...but I'd swear somebody did. Put the pot up boys and boil some fresh pasta. Only positive note. . The pizza pie ain't half bad.
Justino's has the best beef patties ever lately they are burnt dry and disgusting I called to tell them my issue they put me on hold and never came back to the phone I've been a loyal customer for over 10 years There's not a place to leave a picture I wish there were so you can see the poor quality of food I received and I pad full price
The cashier was rude for no reason , he stayed on his phone the whole time acting as if we were a bother to him. Then he made disrespectful comments about people that work in the hospital. Never going there again.
Honestly they do not even deserve 1 star. I asked cashier upon arrival if they have mozarella slices, she says yes. I say great because I am hungry I would like to order to slices. Why after I'm waiting for some time and inquire for my food she says I ordered 2 orders of mozarella sticks. I mentioned she heard wrong because I don't eat mozarella sticks and even after all the back n forth they didn't have the courtesy to provide me with the slices I paid for. One of the very worst customer service settings I have experienced in a neighborhood pizze shop. Disappointed as I paid $19. Hope they enjoyed the 2 orders of Mozzarella Sticks!
Justino’s Pizza used to be an amazing neighborhood spot with warm, welcoming staff and reliably good service. I continued supporting the business over the years because they provide something genuinely valuable to the community by accepting EBT—an uncommon and incredibly helpful option for many local residents. Unfortunately, the experience has changed. The service has steadily declined, and interactions with Janet, the cashier, have become a consistent issue. Her rudeness, dismissive tone, and visible lack of interest in assisting customers create unnecessary communication barriers and make each visit more stressful than it should ever be when you’re simply trying to order food. Supporting a business that does good for the community felt worthwhile, but not at the cost of being treated poorly. At this point, the premium price point combined with the deteriorating customer service—especially at the register—has made it clear that my patronage is better directed elsewhere. Those who are comfortable tolerating bad service may still find value here, but the price is too steep for me.
The slice was the only good part of the meal! The Calzone was pre cooked and reheated and still cold when served! If u want Pizza they got you, its amazing. Thats whats so crazy tho how can u have such a great pie and everything else is 🤢! Just sell pizza leave the rest to the real Italians! also the young lady at the counter could use a few classes in customer service!
