Opinions de KO Burger New York
This spot was not far from my hotel and I'm so glad I went by. Unassuming storefront with a few tables out front. It may not look like much but this place is an absolute gem. The burger exceptional. Great bun, perfect balance of onions, pickles, mustard but honestly the burger by itself would be great. To top it off, it's not particularly expensive for NYC. Highly recommend this spot and I look forward to going back again!
The overall vibe is low-key and comfortable. It doesn’t try too hard to impress, but everything feels taken care of. The atmosphere stays consistent, and that kind of stability makes the place easy to trust.
Ordered seamless and it was AMAZING. Convinced me that burgers do not need lettuce or tomato to feel complete. Fries were crinkle and still warm (delivery was .75 away)
It was about 9:45 pm and we were driving back to Brooklyn about to get on Manhattan bridge talking about how we were craving burgers when we spotted KO Burger and it was open. I immediately turned the car around and pulled up. We ordered 2 double KO burgers (we don’t like pickled or mustard so didn’t get that on it) and an order of fries. Normally to me smash burgers are just alright but craving and so when I tell you these were some of the best burgers we ever had I mean it!!! Crinkle fries can really suck, can be super mushy and flavorless. Not here. They were served in a brown paper bag so we already knew these are gonna be good. They were crispy and salted to perfection. We dogged everything in the car (this is take out only spot) then drove home in absolute food bliss. 10/10 highly recommend!
The “I’d Hit That” burger at K.O. Burger is an absolute must-try. The flavors are perfectly balanced—savory, rich, and super satisfying. The chopped onions with that light truffle aroma add the perfect touch, and the seasoning and sauce tie everything together beautifully. One bite and I was hooked. What makes it even better is how unique this place is for a burger shop—their flavor combinations and style really stand out. Easily one of the best burgers I’ve had in a long time.
These burgers for sure K.O. a ton of the smash burger competition out there. They have some of the best, most well thought out versions that I've ever had. The knockout burger is literally how I would put together a smash burger—perfectly charred patty, melted cheese, onions, pickles, delicious pickled jalapenos, and the classic condiment combo with their slappin KO sauce. Fire. I'd hit that is another burger you should definitely hit up. It hits different with the truffle mayo, white cheese, and fried shallots, giving it an elevated and uniquely delicious flavor profile. I seriously doubt you could go wrong with any of the burgers here. They got the art of the smash burger on lock. The onion rings were also just perfect—crispy breading with a good amount of onion on the inside that stays inside with each bite. Literally, I'm salivating while writing this review and recalling these memories. The service is also super kind and they take their time crafting these for you, like they really put their all into it. I definitely have to come back and try the other burgers next time I'm in NY. God bless this smash burger champ. Amen.
I stopped by and I got a double patty melt. It was amazing. I liked it so much, I went back the next day and bought two of them, (double patty melts) and brought them out to my mom and dad's house. My dad said, "That was the best patty melt he has ever had." I would have to agree. They both loved their lunch that day.
First time here. Got 1 of each. Best burgers I’ve had in a long time. I’m a big fan of the CEO at Burgerfi but these blow everything else out of the water. A Whopper with cheese is just shy of $10 now so the fact that these are cheaper and way better speaks volumes. Someone else commented that the fries were just okay, but I found them to be super flavorful. They can put the loaded toppings on the side if you want to take an order to go so they don’t get mushy. *Updated Review - I’ve been here 5 times now. It’s the only reason I even go to Manhattan nowadays. The I’D Hit That burger is my favorite because of the Black Truffle Mayo. For fans of the show The Penguin, KO Burger is in the background! Hotel Mimosa was used as the Triad headquarters for the show. The scene in episode 3 when Victor drives the Penguin to meet Sofia is where you can see KO. *Second update - I didn’t take a picture of the new menu but there’s 5 burgers now instead of 3. I tried the Meaty Boy and KO burger twice before but I’ve settled on The I’d Hit That as my favorite and it’s not even close. In addition to the white American cheese, black truffle mayo, onions and pickles, they also put fried shallots now. That’s a serious level up! It tasted so good I was standing there in disbelief. The prices have remained unchanged since March 2024 when I first went. $2.50 for a can soda is ridiculous though. Pro tip: go right across the street and pay $1, unless of course you enjoy paying more.
The taste factor is amazing! The team delivered exceptional customer service and the meals were outstanding. K.O. Burger's position is ideal, though its welcoming staff truly stands out. They present dishes typical of their style. This spot is genuinely impressive and I can't wait to go back!
Literal hole in the wall (no indoor seating, just 2 standing tables outside) but the food is damn good so if you're getting take out it's great. I got the meaty boy double and cheese fries to go and the burger was still hot (not just warm, but hot like it was fresh off the grill) and juicy when I finally got home an hour later so that's pretty efficient packaging. The cheese fries cooled down but what can you do. The burger was juicy, well seasoned, and flavorful. Very greasy but I don't know how much of that is from the burger and how much is from the bacon (I'd assume mostly from the later but I'd had to go again and get a different burger to confirm). Fries are crinkle cut which aren't my favorite but they were still well cooked, closer to the crispy end of the spectrum without being hard. The cheese fries comes with cheese sauce (typical nacho cheese type sauce), fried shallots, grilled onions, and chipotle mayo. Messy but tasty. Prices are pretty fair, competitive for the area. Service was very fast too, my order took less than 10 minutes on a Saturday evening. Might be my new favorite smash burger place on the lower east side. I'd definitely go back and try their other menu items some other time. A double is good for me but I'm a huge fat ass so a single might be enough for most regular people
This is my first time coming here and they have a nice list of burgers to eat. I got the double patty knockout burger to try out since that’s like the first burger on the menu. I also got cross-cut fries, which are crinkle fries so they’re crunchy and crispy! For $9 a double patty burger is truly incredible and affordable compared to a lot of burger joints you see in NYC. Going to try out their other signature burgers next time. They have just 2 tall yellow tables to stand and eat your burger.
Good burger place if in China town. I’d try the other fries and burger I come next time. Came during Memorial Day. Just finished seeing the intrepid. Kinda tastes like shake shack if you wanna have an idea how it tastes. It was pretty good. Fries are better. Crunchier and a little more flavor. Greasy but in a good way. It’s a guilty pleasure.
Smash burger spots have been opening up so fast and furiously in recent months, it’s hard to keep up. But I finally made it to K.O. and I have to say it’s a serious contender. Good sized with good quality ingredients, my burger was full of beefy flavor and your could really taste the bacon. I love that they serve crinkle cut fries too - super crispy! I look forward to returning and trying their truffle mayo burger and limited edition hatch chile burger. Just make sure it’s a nice day when you go - they don’t have indoor seating.
I was really very pleasantly surprised at how good my KO burger was. I got the double knockout burger. Warning... This burger is huge! You can tell how good a burger is by how sloppy it is. This burger was a mess, a good mess. It was really tasty. We ordered both the KI cheese fries and regular fries... Both were really good. I'll be back.
Amazing little burger shop! It’s so unassuming! The staff were nice and prompt. The food didn’t take long at all. It came out piping hot and fresh. It is just the store front, but there are standing tables in which you can eat outside. The burger was juicy and delicious. The fries were crispy and salty. It was everything you want in a smash burger and it’s not too expensive! Awesome place! You have to try it!
Finally made a stop to check out KO Burger. Glad I did. I ordered a Thrilla in Manila double and a Ring Side w/jalapeño ranch dressing (under $20 in total) at the little window. Dude gave me a ticket. 12 minutes later I grabbed my loot & I Citibiked myself to eat it hot at home. True to the plan, I plated my double smash burger on a potato roll with American cheese, jalapeños, green chili yuzu mayo & a side of onion rings. I loved the burger. Good flavor and surprisingly moist. Far better than Shake Shack and a better price point ($11!) The onion rings featured REAL onions and a crispy bite. However, they were not sufficiently seasoned. Disappointing but the jalapeño ranch was a nice patch and paired well with the rings. I’ll definitely return.
