Opinions de KungFu Kitchen New York
I had the best dining experience here tonight. Seafood hotpot and fish dumplings were out of this world. Everything tasted so fresh, healthy and well prepared. The soup broth was particularly outstanding. Highly highly recommend this place. Also ordered a hot oolong tea with honey which was quite flavorful. I’ll definitely be back here.
Even though we came late Andrew could not sit in,,, I do not regret leaving but ordering to go . The food was extremely delicious. The soup, pancakes, chicken dim sum were unbelievably delicious.
Kung Fu Kitchen is my favorite place to go for soup dumplings, I have been three times now and they are always delicious! Everything I have ordered here has been fantastic. Can also recommend the pan fried pork buns and their Lychee boba drink. And the desserts are all great as well.
Really great experience. I'd go back for the hand cut noodles, the vibes and the service. Great for parties of 4 or more and singles can sit at the counter. We ordered: Hand cut stir fried chicken noodles. The hand cut noodles had the perfect smoked wok essence. The portion is large enough to feed two small eaters and a great price. Highly recommend these noodles. Reminds me of the hand pulled noodle place on Doyers Street in Chinatown, except this place has a much more elevated vibe for dining in and cleaner restroom. Pork ramen: The broth is a 12-hour cooked beef bone broth that is very mildly seasoned. The ramen isn't traditional japanese style ramen, but Shanghai style. The noodles were thick, flat and soft versus al dente. The fillings: pork and vegetables were very generously added to the ramen. Dimsum: Taro puffs. Side by side with the menu photo, they did not look like or have the same impression as the menu photo: purple, puffy and perfectly wrapped. These took the longest to arrive to our table. Greasy. Probably because the oil to deep fry them was not heated enough. The puff? A flaky butter pastry wrapped around a taro flavored mochi filling and sprinkled with sesame seeds. It looked like the red bean puff on the menu. Despite this, my non-discerning husband loved it very much. I liked it too, except for the discrepancies and the price of $2 a piece. Vibe: The decor and theme was standard Asian influence. The back wall constantly played a promotional video about the chef making his hand cut and hand pulled noodles. Background music was asian language songs.
Amazing packaging for a low price to go order .sometimes customers don’t account how much the restaurant spends for high quality bags and utensils/containers but I recognize this restaurant trying to give high quality merchandise and service.I ordered the chicken soup dumplings 🥟 ,taste very well cooked and define .i was still a little hungry after eating this but keep in mind my height is 6’9 (bigger than average) so it takes a lot more to be full.but for y’all you will be full from this dish alone .
What a (not so) hidden gem! The food was absolutely delicious. The stir fried noodles were just the right amount of chewy. The fried dough and the pan fried pork buns were some of the best I've ever had. The service was good and the staff was friendly. And best of all, the price was just right, not expensive for what was a high quality meal, even by NYC standards. I recommend !!
Amazing! From the outside the restaurant gets a little bit lost between all the others, but is is really worth the visit! We had few types of dumpling we have never seen before.
My best friend & I had a wonderful experience here! The service was amazing. They were all so kind. The food was also great. I definitely recommend their ramen, the spicy tofu, and scallion pancakes. I also loved the bubble tea matcha latte! 15% tip is included in the bill which makes things so much easier. I highly recommend this place
Delicious and hearty dumpling soup. I went there based on recommendation from a friend and ordered the famous dumpling soup.it didnt disappoint me. The pork based broth tasted good and the vegetable shrimp dumpling were oh so delicious and filling. My mom ordered the vegetable dumplings which were also delicious.
I wasn’t sure what to expect when my boyfriend stopped here to eat but I’m very happy he did. The atmosphere was comfortable, the music was enjoyable, and the documentary they showed while you ate was informative and a pleasure to watch. But most importantly the service and food was so good. The food had was definitely comfort food that was needed on a rainy day. I’m so happy we came.
Came for a late lunch. Didn’t have to wait. They were pretty full. Food came out very fast. They have a small boba menu. Boba was good and chewy. Green onion pancake and sticky rice dumplings were good. The soup dumplings had so much soup inside! Very good. The roast duck soup with hand cut noodles was also tasty. I would come back to try some other things.
Definitely check this place out. Good environment, decent service, and amazing food. We ordered the pork soup dumplings, scallion pancakes with sliced beef, duck buns, and the hand cut stir-fried noodles with beef and chili (not pictured). We can’t pick a favorite - it’s all delicious!
We came in for a late lunch and had a wonderful experience. The staff was very attentive and the food was absolutely delicious! We had the Peking duck buns, pork soup dumplings and stir fried beef and chili peppers followed by taro puffs for dessert. Everything came quickly and was so tasty!
This place is an amazing Chinese restaurant! 🇨🇳 Kung Fu Kitchen has an unbelievable selection of authentic delicious 🤤 dishes 🍽️! Definitely try the Hand Cut Noodles Soup 🍜 with Chicken 🐔 and the Popcorn Chicken 🍗! Ambience 🎶 is fantastic and they actually project 📽️ a video on the wall that shows how they make their hand-pull noodles and hand-cut noodles! They also have a number of Michelin star ⭐ dishes! Prices 🏷️ are affordable, service is super quick, and staff 👨🍳 is super nice! I wish I knew about this place earlier!
Modern Chinese dumpling restaurant. The place is comfortable for a casual meal. Food was great, and served fast. A good range of staples, including xiao long bao, hot and cold noodles, etc. Service was alright - a bit rushed and dropping the food anywhere, but was attentive and fast.
Food was amazing and the atmosphere was great. I've never had soup dumplings before and the pork soup dumplings were fantastic! I also tried the pan fried peking duck buns which was also amazing! The only negative was the speed of service, but definitely not enough to take away from the overall experience. I would definitely recommend and come back again!
Great place overall. We orderd soup damplings and duck in open buns that were amazing. Its a bit pricy but it is very close to time square so i guess thats why. Don't order the rice ball though - I felt like it will be nice to experience with a new dessert (big mistake.. huge), one bite and lost all my appetite.
Super yummy hand pulled noodles. I opted for the spicy soup and it was a fantastic, filling and flavorful late lunch. I also added the beef roll, which is a crispy pancake wrapped around slices beef with hoisin sauce and spring onions. Both were delicious and the price was pretty good considering the touristy location.
Highly recommend this place. And it was finally an awesome place for REAL soup and dumplings among all those street food and wannabe restaurants. They really do care about the food and how it's served. This had the real taste of Asia.
By far the most amazing Chinese restaurant in the Times Square area, if not, in most of New York City for handmade fresh noodles. The soup dumplings are also made fresh and the menu is jammed packed with delicious surprises. Come hungry, eat plenty, you will not regret the visit.
This place is amazing! I got recommended by a friend of mine and it was right near the hotel I was staying at! The soup dumplings were amazing and the Fatty Beef Hot Oil Ramen was amazing and well needed in this cold weather. Yes there is a 15% service charge for dine-in but totally worth it! I would highly recommend this place and I'll be back when I'm back in town!
I was not expecting the food to be as good as it was, there are so many options in NY that i just walked in tired of walking all day. It was a quiet atmosphere nice a cozy, just what i needed. I ordered the chicken stir fry and it was delicious. My husband ordered the beef scallion pancakes and ohhh my it was the perfect combination to my meal.
I first discovered Kung Fu Kitchen in 2019, and I’m thrilled to see it’s still going strong. This place serves some of the best Chinese food I’ve ever had. Their dumplings, ramen, and baos are standout favorites, each dish bursting with authentic flavors and high-quality ingredients. I’ll definitely continue to visit as long as it remains open, as it’s become a go-to spot for delicious Chinese cuisine.
Relatively small menu. I've been here a couple of times and always order the same items. Duck + Hand pulled noodles wide and beef scallion pancakes. Can't speak for any other item, but, really happy with this dish. Broth is very smooth and tasty and noodles have a great mouth feel.
You can spend more on a meal but you can't get better food. The Kung Fu Kitchen experience is not to be missed. It was the best meal I ever had in NYC. Can't say enough good things about the dumplings and the hand pulled noodles. These is a place where a man who eats like a man can get his fill of delicious goodness. No big plate, small food malarkey. Loved it. Highly recommended.
Great spot for hot ramen and soups in winters. For appetizers got duck buns and chicken soup dumplings. Both were great. The duck bun was sweet and juicy. For mains got the chicken hot pot and the chicken ramen with hand cut noodles and pork and beef broth .The broth was great, very soothing and flavorful. Chicken was a bit bland and just boiled but the overall bowl enhanced the taste. Also got the mango slush, that was great. The quantity is great to share among 2-3 people. Prices are very decent too.
Great: Delicious, generous portions, good quality. Been there for weekend dinner and had a wonderful time there. Price wise ok, food was absolutely worth the visit. Update: Been there 3 times and always steady quality of products and dishes. Dishes will not arrive at same time. Had won ton soup, shrimp dumplings (taste like butter popcorn), buns with mushrooms (too dry for my taste), spicy cold beef, cucumber salat (was nice but light in taste).
Thin is place located right in front of port authority. The price is very reasonable consider to its Time Square. We ordered soup dumplings, spicy mapo tofu, and scallion pancake with beef and spicy beef hot pot. Everything we ordered was tasty and flavorful! Only wish if they make things more spicier 😏
📍Kungfu Kitchen @New York, NY 🖤好食 (quality):😋😋😋😋😋 🤍環境 (environment): ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🤎服務 (service): 💗💗💗💗💗 Have you tried New York’s best steamed buns and hand-pulled noodles in NYC? 👀Kungfu Kitchen offer authentic steamed buns and hand pulled noodles and a variety of other dishes like dim sum and dessert from different regions of China! 😀All buns were freshly made everyday, it’s definitely worth to try if you are in the city! 🙃They also offer bubble tea!! This time, I got… 🤍Steamed buns 🤍 Oh my their steamed buns were so yummy! It reminded me of the ones I had at Ding Tai Fung! 👀The soup was the key, there were a lot of soup and it was steaming hot when it was served! 😎The skin was on the thicker side and I personally like thicker skin because I can pick it up without spilling the soup inside the bun. I really love the buns! 🥰There were 6 of them per order for 9.95$ USD! ☺️ 🍜Chicken Hand pulled noodles 🍜 I wanted something light so I got chicken! The hand pulled noodles were so chewy I loved it! 🙃The soup base was also perfect as it was not so savoury and goes so well with the noodles! It was a pretty big bowl of noodles, I was not able to finish it at the end! 😚 The seatings were very comfortable and they have a lot of seats! Also, their service was great as they were responsive and kind! Thank you for the yummy food, I totally loved the buns!🤍✨
My wife & I ordered their Ramen Soups! It was fantastic 😊. I love Soup Ramen’s & here was theirs authentic! We ordered their Hand made noodles (1 dollar extra cost). The soup is perfectly made & noodles are plenty served. Highly recommend this restaurant! Wifi is kinda slow but it didn’t spoil the mood!
I had literally 15 minutes to order dumplings and eat too be able to check out for a bus. They made my smoothie within minutes. Dumplings here is always top tier. The owner wonderful. Thank you for hospitality.
It was my first time here and I loved it. If you’re looking for great noodles, this is definitely the place to go. It’s easy to get to, conveniently located near the 42nd Street Bus Terminal. There’s plenty of seating, making it perfect for coming with friends or on a date. They also offer boba tea, both frozen and non-frozen. The service was great, and I’ll definitely be coming back.
Tried the kung fu kitchen after a trip to the Statue of Liberty literally like a 15 minute walk ,but it’s definitely worth it. The food was amazing. The service was great and the place is nice and clean. Will definitely come back. Make sure you try the Xiao Long Bao which are the famous ones.
Absolutely amazing dinner! We ordered delivery to our hotel. Wow! Everything was beautiful packaged, almost like artwork! The food was hot and fresh. It came in a lined bag to stay hot even though there was a storm outside. The ramen was packaged separately from the soup so my bowl didn't get soggy. I can't wait for the summer when we take the kids back down to NYC--they will LOVE this food! Definitely going to have to go in person, though!!
Came into the restaurant while it was raining heavily in the evening so we didn’t expect to get seated straight away but the staff was so eager to find a spot for us to sit and warm up. The food was ready quick and staff was eager to help us with everything. The Ramen was delicious and made with a slight adjustment I asked for. Everything was perfect and surprisingly cheap for the quality of food! Highly recommend the Ramen and Dumplings here!
Amazing service and incredible food! I highly recommend this place to anyone. The hand-pulled noodles were absolutely delicious, and the soup dumplings were to die for. The wonton soup was exquisite — packed with rich, flavorful broth. Everything was just amazing. Our server was also wonderful — attentive, friendly, and I couldn’t help but be a little jealous of his flawless skin
I was wary at first because the name made me think "Times Square tourist trap" but the food is consistently really good, it's a nice place, and they have handled large and small groups very well. I especially like the soup dumplings and the bok choy, and the ramen and scallion pancakes are great too. I've been eating here pretty regularly for several years and it has held up over time, too.
My son and I loved this place!!! What a gem! Great food and the service was exceptional. Great location as well! The portions will definitely make you feel full. The staff were super polite, friendly and the service was very quick!! Would go again and again anytime I’m back in NYC!
The best Pan fried pork buns ever ( finished them too quickly didn’t have time taking photos)! I’m Chinese and my family are British we all enjoyed everything we ordered here particularly the pan fried buns! Boys loved the bubble tea and Brown sugar milk! I actually came to the restaurant 2 years ago and enjoyed the food, so this time I took my family here and they kept wanting to go back - went 3 times in one week!
The food was so delicious! Our group happened to come across this hidden gem after exploring Times Square. Our server was very friendly and accommodating (even let me charge my phone while we dined). The place was not too busy, and our food came out fast. The noodles tasted fresh and very flavorful. Highly recommend!
Had an incredible meal at this Chinese spot—an absolute gem! The dumplings were perfectly juicy and bursting with flavor, easily some of the best I’ve had. The starters were delicious across the board, each one packed with bold, authentic tastes. The hand-cut noodles and ramen were amazing —rich, comforting, and perfectly cooked with just the right amount of chew. Every dish felt crafted with care and tradition. Highly recommend if you’re craving real, delicious Chinese food that hits all the right notes!
This was the best Chinese food restaurant experience I have ever had. I got the pork soup dumplings and the shredded beef and peppers dish. Both were excellent. The shredded beef with peppers was wonderfully spicy but not overpowering. The service was good, quit and courteous. The food came within 10 minutes of ordering, with the pork soup buns coming a few minutes later. It was cool but also somehow strange to have 80s rock and roll playing in the soundtrack while eating the most amazing Chinese dishes. Come expecting excellent food but not a traditional Chinese ambience. It was not a negative, it was just a bit surprising
A hidden 💎 Michelin star restaurant. Sadly, I did not get to try their famous pork soup dumplings. I really wanted to try the hand cut noodles. I had the fatty Angus beef w/ chili oil. My husband had the house noodles. (Sorry, I can't remember the exact names, but something similar to this) The Schichuan crispy pork made an awesome pairing with my noodle soup (since I am considering this a side dish). The food was exquisite!! A perfect balance of savory and fatty flavors. A must try place for the cold season.

Very unique Asian noodle and soup dumpling place near the 8th Avenue Port Authority. The day I visited this place, they only accepted cash due to their credit card machine malfunction. I like their soup dumpling, very authentic. But it’s on the pricy side ($8.99 an order) compares to the 456 Shanghainese cuisine in the Chinatown and the Nan Xiang Soup dumpling in the Flushing, Queens. Their beef noodle soup was also different than regular roasted beef noodle soup. The flavor and the taste of soup was like broth. I liked it. Overall it’s ok and I’ll recommend this restaurant to anyone doesn’t want to travel to Flushing or downtown Chinatown.
I used to love this restaurant, but unfortunately, the quality has decreased recently. The prices are higher, and there are only three very thin and small pieces of meat in the roast pork noodles. The fabulous popcorn chicken, which was one of their best dishes, has disappeared. Even the drink prices are higher, although they used to be cheaper, even with the delicious milk cap. My partner suggested saving the trip to this restaurant, as it's not worth the price now. I'll consider coming back if the quality improves and they bring back their signature popcorn chicken.
This is by far the best place to eat with the best Asian style food serving hand-pulled noodles in Manhatten. Not so pretty on the outside, but you can often watch the noodle master doing his thing right in the front window. The negatives: they do sell beer, but at $6.50 for a can of Bud. They do not sell any wine, none. Their servers are not what anyone could call friendly, too bad because the servers really drag the atmosphere down. Ok, forget that and go eat here, the food is worth it.
Cool place that I had wanted to check out while in the city. Food was really good. I was by myself and went for lunch, so I may have ordered more than a normal human, but I didn’t want to miss out. The ramen was good, the duck could have been a little crispier. The soup buns and dumplings were also tasty. The dumplings themselves were quite juicy in their own. The food is quick and fresh, though I feel the prices are a bit high... maybe it’s just NYC.
Kung Fu Kitchen had some hits and misses. Tried the scallion pancake with beef, hand pulled noodle beef soup, hand cut noodle beef stir fry, soup dumplings, and the wonton soup. The beef scallion pancake was recommended by our server upon asking. It was my FAVORITE thing I ate. 💕 The beef in the soup was extremely tender. I found the broth to be on the lighter side, but very flavourful. The hand cut noodles reminded me of thai drunken noodles, though a tad softer. The flavour profile on the stir fry sauce was mild, but good. The soup dumplings were very tasty, but I learned some hard lessons. 😆 Eat too soon and you'll burn yourself on the broth inside. Eat too late and you'll have trouble with the dumplings sticking to the parchment paper and tearing open. Not the restaurant's fault - that's my own inexperience with them. The wonton soup was a big miss. The broth was REALLY, really bland like other reviewers mention. The wontons weren't bad to me, but the other ppl I was with tried one each & gave them a thumbs down. The oddest part for us was the service. We ordered around 8:10 or so, and the restaurant closes at 9pm. As we were finishing our food, staff were just idling nearby, making us feel extremely awkward. Also, seemed like they were really reluctant to give us any water. They kept filling cups to the halfway mark. It wasn't bad or anything, but it was just strange! 🤷♀️ All-in-all, the food was mostly good, but given the weird service, I wouldn't rush back anytime soon.
Came here yesterday 12-30-22. Table of 10 for lunch. This restaurant was prepared and had the table set and ready to go! The food itself was quite tasty and everyone enjoyed it. We ordered a variety of items and our table just shared (except the soups 🙃) Our only issue was a female server who seemed to be helping our main server. Every time she was asked to do something she rolled her eyes. And when our main server asked her to put a duplicate items down to the other side of the table she literally just put it a foot away from the other one (and you guess it, rolled her eyes again) Because the food was tasty and everything else was great it still deserves a 4 star. If I based it off one girl and a bad attitude a 2. Thankfully the food was good. I also really liked they had a nice hand washing station.
Great spot to grab some tasty dumplings! We wandered in here while walking around the street, and we were pleasantly surprised at how good it was. Their dumplings were awesome. They had some sort of broth inside that kind of just explodes with flavor. The sticky buns we're pretty good, but the desert bean paste buns were awesome. The staff wasn't the friendliest, but the food made up for it.
This was close to our hotel so we thought we would give it a go. It’s a no for us. Service was slow and not overly friendly. Restaurant shows its age and could use a good refresh. Front window is broken with a sign saying don’t touch. The appetizers were good, pan friend dumplings and scallion pancakes. The main dishes were very bland. Noodles were super chewy. There are better choices not far away.

We picked the location based on the ratings for some good ramen and dumplings. It wasn’t very busy and we received our food in a timely manner. The food wasn’t amazing but for my first time trying soup dumplings it wasn’t terrible. I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here. Only if I was in the area I would consider trying them again.
The second edition of the Kung Fu Dumplings. First few blocks away toward uptown. The place is bigger and larger mural on walls. Long scratch hall with tables and only one bathroom for the employees and customers. The service is terrible, the food is good. Good, solid, but you wont say wow. Not really worth to stop by.
Decent cheap food but everything is pretty doughy. I think they may need to help their waiters to keep their uniforms looking cleaner and learn how to have friendlier service. I personally didn't get bad service, but I saw one waiter chastising a customer for changing their selection after their order went in.
This place is really nice and very close to Times Square. The ambience is relaxed and servers are fast and polite. I ordered a few things so that's why I spent more, but it's not pricey at all. The soup wasn't of my taste, I have tried better to be honest, but the dumplings OMG!! Soooo flavorful and perfectly done. Also the tea! I know it's just tea, but the flavor was AMAZING!. I will come back to try more stuff, I really liked and it's a good option for comfort food for this chilly season. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
A short walk from Time Square. The menu is not that extensive but they have all the stuff most people would like. I ordered the knife shaving beef noodle and 1/3 of the dish was just sprouts. Lots and lots of sprouts. We also ordered some beef wrap (pancake was too dry). All in all the food was ok but the beef itself was excellent. Maybe I’ll try something else next time.
The food was fresh, but the flavors just seemed the same for both dishes. service was quick as we were on our way to see a show. Restaurant overall looked clean and the bonus was that the sink was …
Service was just ok, borderline awkward. That’s fine the dumplings were good! But they didn’t want to give us extra chili oil sauce when requested, telling us “it’s really hot” and then ignoring our request. I know I’m a white girl, but I like it hot. So that was weird. And the ramen we ordered was just ok. But my spicy beef had a sour taste to it, I’m just hoping it wasn’t bad, and I will update it I get sick! We had to ask for the chili sauce again to add flavor, but it really could have used something else to add to it. Just ok in general. Not expensive. But I wouldn’t really want to return.

Disappointed visit to this once-stellar 5-Michelin-star gem. We’ve dined here before and always left dazzled, but tonight felt like a slide downhill. Ordered our favorite appetizer—served hot on prior visits—only to receive it cold. The waiter whisked it away, then insisted it’s “meant to be served chilled” and refused a fresh (warm) replacement. A small misstep in a place of this caliber stings; standards seem to be slipping.
