Opinions de Little Gio's Pizza New York
12/09/2025 A review of 99¢ Pizza around the corner on Houston, that this is the best of the cheap pizza offerings in the area, so I had to test that out. Specifically, they said the sauce was actually good and there was enough of it on the slice. I can confirm that the sauce is indeed good, if a simple and a bit raw tasting. There was not very much of it, but it was more than at 99¢. Bigger slice too, with pretty solid cheese. I’m starting to see the spectrum of pizza quality in this city, so we’ll see how I feel after visiting some other places.
Got a quick bite for pizza from here and it wasn't bad! Good service and clean spot. Has a small variety of pizza's with both a thin crust or a square slice.
The slices were delicious and even though this place is a hole in the wall the pizza was so good. It was priced like a normal nyc slice so not too expensive. But it was so good. We just wanted a quick bite before going out and this was perfect. Would recommend for something fast and on the go.
One of my fav "$1" pizza slice places in NYC
The best pizza, delicious and crispy. The margarita is awesome
cute unassuming spot where the owner lines the walls with photos of celebrities that have visited. the marg slice is really different than other shops and yet so flavorful. 10/10 would recommend. my go to slice shop in this area!
Great NY pizza. Perfect spot to grab a quick slice!

Great NY pizza. Perfect spot to grab a quick slice!
What a great guy. First time coming here had to defend him at 2am against a drunk, he offered to comp my meal but i insisted on paying anyway, so kind, pizza is good, price is consistent and worthy of repeat business. He works hard. And does a great job. Will come back again and again. Support Little Gio’s pizza
Best pizza ever! Best night spot also!
I stopped by here and snagged some really good pizza. Fast and pleasant service. That really hit the spot. I'm looking forward to stopping by here again.
Visited Christmastime 2022, still thinking about this pizza Sept 2023. Fast service, very straightforward. Great flavor, crust, all of the things. Whenever I'm back in NYC, I will make a point to revisit Little Gio's.
The pizza was tasty. This place was a life after some late night drinking. Sorry no vegan pizza but over this is a cool place. I really like all the pictures on the wall. The employees are awesome and pretty cool. They here know their customers. This is a great spot for pizza on the go after late night bar hopping.
I don’t know why the pizza here is some of the best in the city, it just is! I really like the regular slices. The crust is really nice, the dough is dense and I love the sauce. Really nice staff. I can get up to 3 slices at a time if the pie is coming hot out of the oven.
I'm a chef in the East Village, and have lived in NYC for over 30 years...that a lot of pizza! The reason why I keep going back to little Gio's is the pizza crust is thin, crunchy and has a bit of a sourdough hint, the sauce has a perfect balance of acidity and garlic, and the cheese is fresh! Well done!!!👍
Oh man this is the real deal. Thin crust, hint of oregano, true NY style slice pizza, heated and re-crisped in the oven before serving it to you. We ate our slices before thinking to take pictures, but honestly they weren't much to look at. However, the taste and texture brought me back to the 70s

First time trying NYC pizza and Gios cheese pizza late night satisfied my soul

I have been trying different slices of pizza around the Lower East Side in hopes of finding a slice that is good and under $4 per slice. Not even great, just good. It has proved much harder than you might think. Even if a slice blows me away, it's like north of $5 and that just goes against the whole ethos of pizza by the slice, at least to me. A great slice of pizza has almost become a special occasion only for me, which is criminal. As I walked into Little Gio's, the first thing I noticed was a $3 slice, $3.50 with a topping. The 2nd thing I noticed was a picture of the owner(?) with a So Far Gone era Drake in the establishment. Respect. The respect was immediately chin checked when they said it was a $5 minimum on a card after I ordered 1 slice of cheese, but much to Gio's chagrin, I had cash on me.......They forsure preferred that ahaha I just wanted to work "chagrin" into this review. I was lowkey pissed at the $5 card minimum, but this slice of pizza was actually EXACTLY what I was looking for. A thin crispy crust on the bottom but not burnt, with hangtime when you pick it up, and a great cheese to sauce ratio. My new goto spot for a quick, cheap slice. It would be interesting to do a full analysis of the pizza by the slice market pricing over the past 10 years. I'm sure someones done it though. I feel like everything has been done at this point..... I have seen multiple other reviews across Google and Yelp say that they have seen a tip added on their credit card statement that they did not give.... All I'm saying is I could see it....... Small pizza shop on 1st avenue. the good: - the crust which is quite important was done well. - the pepperoni slice was tasty and ample cheese and pepperoni. - seemed fresh. the bad: - nothing major, but I felt it could have used slightly more sauce. - again, nothing major: but the person who helped us seemed not happy, not that he was rude or anything, but he just didn't seem friendly, but nothing major.
I had a nice slice at Little Gio's on a rainy night in the LES. The Margherita was on point, service was good, and the process was quick.

The margherita slice had a lot of seasoning (especially thyme) which I loved, but there was not a lot of sauce and it ended up tasting like a saltine. Two dudes also got into a fist fight while I was there

So incredibly mid. Go anywhere else
Saw the guy go from putting pepperonis on the pizza to touching money and go straight back to touching the dough and pizza. I would avoid if you don’t want to get sick

Saw them spraying Clorox to clean the shelves while there was pizza just inches away. 😷
