Opinions de Maison Pickle New York
Great experience, waitress was lovely and helpful. Reservation definitely helps with a place like this because it’s WORTH IT! It would be some tight spaces on seating so the tables are a bit small for the amount of food they give plus the drinks and water on the table as well but the crew is attentive on picking up dishes. Overall, definitely recommend it.
Came here for an anniversary today and although it was busy, the service was excellent! Jacqueline took great care of us. The food came out quickly and was pretty good with huge portion sizes that will definitely last me and my partner at least another day. Their 24 layer chocolate cake was also excellent, not too sweet, and we were able to take the leftovers to go. The cake was on the house for our occasion and even came with a cute sparkler. It was a little loud, but the warm service and great food made up for it!
Showed up for their Restaurant Week menu, a perfect way to try out a restaurant! Last week, 2 of us dined, the watermelon salad was sooo good! Refreshing with basil and a hint of lemon. Best thing we had! The deviled eggs were good (Jacob’s pickles version is better). The French dip was just ok. The tuna salad was very good. The Oreo icebox cake was amazing! And more than enough for 2! Key lime pie was nice and tart. On second visit, I had the watermelon salad, the chicken, bacon and (French) toast (fabulous, 3 thick slices of toast) and the same Oreo icebox cake. Aug 2024
After seeing loads of great reviews online about Maison pickle I had very high expectations. The service was really good. The waiters was constantly coming over to top up our drinks and make sure everything was okay. Food came out speedily and all together. The portion size was very good and every one was left full up. Especially the 24 layer chocolate cake which we shared between 4 people. For the price point I would say it’s definitely good value for money. Unfortunately my experience was slightly hindered as there was an extremely loud group behind us but I cannot fault the resturant for that. Overall I would say it completely lived up to expectations and I would recommend to anyone looking to attend.
My friends and I took the trip from CT. We were not disappointed. It exceeded our expectations. We had a table full of food and EVERYTHING was good. Scott was our server. He was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu, which helped us alot. He's also very friendly. He's definitely a people person. The wait time, was long, but it is well worth it.
First experience here and my boyfriend and I loved this place. I came on a Saturday morning and there were lots of people waiting for tables but i had a reservation and the hostess led us right to a table which was nice. Our waitress Sara was lovely, super nice and friendly. I had to mention her because she was so great! The food was pretty good nice sized portions for the price. The hibiscus Bellini was supper good! The decor and the vibes were also very nice, will definitely be back to try more food!
The food was HEAVENLY!. The cinnanut bread is basically a cinnamon bun, but instead of the bun you have fresh fluffy bread which is even better. The hot honey chicken and toast was saucy and chicken was fried to perfection. The delux dip really stole the show, it is filled with so much flavor. The razzle cocktail was recommended by our server and it was sweet and refreshing. Service is quick, portions are huge and worth it. Will be back to try their layer cake!
This has officially become the best brunch I’ve ever had in NYC! Food here is insanely delicious! The service was exceptional and the atmosphere was so relaxing and welcoming. I need to go back soon to give a try to everything I did not try today. If you are looking for a great brunch this is your spot. Family and friendly place.
We had a large party and they were able to accommodate us. We were seated out front close to the door. It was very chilly at first but once the food and drinks started coming you didn't even really notice it. We will definitely go back again! The food and drinks were amazing!
On a quick girls’ trip from Miami to New York, we had one mission before catching a Broadway show: find a solid brunch spot that wouldn’t feel like yet another tourist trap. A local swore by Maison Pickle on the Upper West Side, so I trusted the tip, hopped on Resy, and locked in a table. We rolled in straight from the airport (shoutout to NYC’s public transit for the unintentional city tour), and even though we were running on travel fumes, we were seated right away. The staff was friendly, fast, and ready for our big brunch expectations. We weren’t super hungry, so we kept it light: a couple of drinks and one dish to share. I ordered The Razzle, a gin-based cocktail with raspberry and lemon. It sounded fun, but it was a little too tart for my taste—one of those drinks that starts cute but overstays its welcome. Then came the real star: the Croque Madame with fried chicken. When we ordered it, we thought we’d get a fried chicken side situation. Nope. The fried chicken was in the sandwich. Surprise! And what a happy accident that was. Crispy chicken? Check. Toasted bread? Check. Perfectly runny egg on top? You bet. Every bite was savory, crunchy, and indulgent in the best way. We definitely weren’t prepared for how good it was, but we rallied like champs. And let me just say: everything coming out of that kitchen looked ridiculous—in the best way. French toast towers, massive sandwiches, comfort food galore. If we’d shown up with a real appetite we would’ve gone to town. Final take: Maison Pickle is now firmly on my NYC rotation. Great service, bold flavors, and a far cry from the overpriced, underwhelming spots that somehow stay packed in Midtown. If you're looking for brunch that delivers without the tourist tax, this is your place.
Can I just say their service is AMAZING?! 🤩 The ambiance is perfect, I really enjoyed their fried chicken & french toast. 🍞 The chicken was not dry AT ALL, and the outer coat had the right level of crunchiness. 🍗 Personally, I wouldn't get their sandwich again, and would opt for something a bit lighter. Would still come back to try other dishes ❤️🙌 Gratuity is included but their service is so good you'll want to give more :)
Came here for a date night and had a delicious dinner. We started with the beet salad which was amazing. The beets were so yummy and I liked the crunchy texture from the nuts. Our table also got the patty melt which was tasty if a little messy and the steak frites. All of it was really good The vibe of the restaurant is lively and energetic. It’s a bit dark so if you can’t read the menu, use your phone as a flashlight 😂
We visited as a party of two without a reservation and were seated immediately. From the moment we walked in, the staff greeted us warmly with eye contact and smiles. Even during busy moments, they continued to smile and acknowledge us whenever our eyes met, which made us feel very welcome and comfortable.
We loved this restaurant. The ambiance with the holiday lights and cozy seating was perfect. The staff was friendly and attentive. The food was delicious. You must try the garlic parmesan pull apart bread...so scrumptious! The ribeye was perfect and the grilled shrimp Caesar salad was amazing.
This was so good! The food, the vibes, everything! We ordered a French dip and mussels and both were exceptional. Our servers were very attentive and despite it being super hot outside, the restaurant provided relief. The entrance is narrow and there are lots of stairs, so accessibility might be an issue if you have mobility restrictions. Their wine list was great and they have bar seating if you’re not able to get a table. It gets busy during the weekend, so get a reservation if you can. Highly recommend!
Loved this spot for brunch! Went on a packed Saturday morning — definitely make a reservation. The Gruyère fondue fries, mac & cheese, and garlic pull-apart bread were all amazing (and huge portions!). Ordered bloody mary & El Segundo wallet for drinks. But the 24-layer chocolate cake? Absolutely unreal. Best chocolate cake ever.
Ok so finding out this is Jacob’s pickle sister restaurant I had high hopes. This place was impressive it’s not a steak house but there steak frites was pretty good the Reuben was next level tho that’s definitely the star here. The steak bacon was also really impressive. The service was really good had a little hiccup up with the check. But it made sense and I didn’t mind glad she saw it and told us before we left would have hated for her to have to pay that difference. But over all good spot if your local definitely check it out. Worth going back too. Desert looked amazing taste was good. And the vibe was awesome. Definitely enjoyed myself
Pros: 1. The onion soup is very delicious, probably the best in my life. 2. Steak tartare is nice. 3. We tried 2 different types of pull chala and both of them is really good, but you don’t really feel honey in “honey and butter” flavor. I recommend to take “cheese and herbs” instead. 4. Tip: try to put your tartar on chala – thank me later. Cons: 1. The place is a bit crowded and loud 2. Steak tartare has very bitter greens on top, and the croutons are too hard, if you have fragile teeth or veneers - avoid these crisps.
This restaurant is the most authentic american and New Yorker place we have been during last 7 days. Massive plates, local people, good service and good dirty food. If you are not american, order one plate for two people! They are massive! We split the French Dip deluxe and was big enough for two. Also, we ordered in house bread, reslly good one. I loved the experience and we had a great time. We did not book in advance but you should if you are a group.
We had a great lunch here. We started by sharing the tomato soup that was really hot and perfect for a chilly uptown day. Then the world famous french dip sandwhiches followed and they didn't disappoint. So glad we shared since they are huge. Everything about them is perfect. The meat is delicious and not an ounce of fat and the onion rings fabulous and even the bread and au juice were perfect. And of course the world famous pickle is not to be missed. We added fries which are the definition of the perfect frie. Very thin and not greasy and great catchup along side. Our friend had the challah french toast which was about as heavy and big as a bowling beauty and was a thing of beauty. Piled high with whipped cream and fruit you have to experience it to believe it. The staff are all friendly and helpful and the atmosphere lively and retro.
This is the best French Dip sandwich I've ever had. I've been here twice now but will always make the trip out because it is SO good. The vibe is great, the service is great but the Deluxe French Dip is next level. They will also recommend the pull apart bread and there is a reason. It. Is. Scrumptious. Cocktails are also delightful. I have yet to try the chocolate cake but one day, it will be mine. Can't recommend enough!
I will become a regular! Food is made well, portions are HUGE, price is fair & affordable, spacious, good service. 18% gratuity built in. James our server was awesome too :) We got steak & eggs which came with fries, medium rare was yum - good crust with red inside! Pull apart bread is fire, we got honey butter. The weekend special tiramisu french toast was ginormous, not overly sweet, really good. Service was fast, attentive, and friendly. Make a reservation because it gets busy fast!!
This place is a fantastic restaurant! 🍴 Maison 🏠 Pickle 🥒 offers a wonderful selection of delicious 🤤 dishes 🍽️ - definitely get the Caesar salad 🥗 with fried chicken 🐔, Hot 🔥 Honey 🍯 Chicken 🐓 Sandwich 🥪, and Fries 🍟 with Gruyere Cheese 🧀 and Bacon. 🥓 Their claim to fame is the French 🇫🇷 Dip Sandwiches and there crown 👑 jewel 💎 is actually the Pull Apart Bread 🍞 with Garlic 🧄 and Herbs 🌿!- definitely worth trying! The staff 👨🍳 is super friendly, welcoming, and professional (thanks Brianna!), the place is beautifully decorated 🛋️, has lots of indoor seating 🪑 and some outdoor seating, the ambiance 🎶 is great, and the service is quick. ⏲️ I wish I came here more often!
Many of my friends recommend this place so I decided to check it out and made a reservation for my friends birthday. We ordered a bottle of champagne, french toast, steak and eggs and the pull apart bread. Everything was delicious, definitely on the pricier side but overall great service and food. I wish they had offered something for my friend’s birthday since we had a $300 check at the end but nothing. It’s not expected but it’s always a nice gesture when places offer a free drink or dessert. Steak was cooked as I ordered and was so filling and delicious. Definitely a favorite. Excited to come back.
This place is known for their french dips...so this is a must for a first-time visit. While most french dip sandwiches are certainly tasty, be prepared to be blown away by theirs! They are enormous and so delicious! For me, being that there are so many restaurants in NYC, service often is lacking. Many restaurants here make you feel like you should be grateful to dine with them...not here though. The staff is very welcoming and always smiling. They could not have been nicer! And if you like booze, they have some primo liquor. Their bloody mary is on point and will make a great addition to any boozey brunch. I brought my 5-year old son here, and usually restaurants aren't a fan of children no matter how well-behaved. I can assure you, though, that this is a family-friendly, group-friendly restaurant so don't fret. It can get pretty busy but that just proves how great of an establishment it is and I got the impression that there are many regular local Upper West Siders that frequent this place. Can't wait to return to try their many other dishes - just looking around I saw some awesome entrees. One person next to us had their chicken and waffles and it looked like it could feed three! Will be back, and yes, their staple pickles served with every meal I presume were a welcomed complement to our meal :)
Just ate here for the first time with my brother and everything was phenomenal! Carly was our server and she was very attentive + accommodating. I wasn’t a fan of the french dip sandwich and she was very understanding and allowed for us to order something else. The chicken and waffles were amazing aswell as the steak frites! Definitely would come back for the great food + service
I came to Maison Pickle for their $45 Restaurant Week dinner and had such a great experience. Everything I ordered was delicious and satisfying from start to finish. The watermelon salad was super refreshing, loved the mix of red and yellow watermelon with cherry tomatoes, feta, and a tangy lime vinaigrette. The crab artichoke and spinach dip was so creamy and flavorful, and the toasted bread it came with was the perfect pairing. For the entrées, I had both the steak frites and the chicken & eggplant parm. The ribeye steak was cooked just right and full of flavor, and the fries were super crispy. The parm was rich, cheesy, and comforting, definitely something I’d order again. Desserts were such a highlight too. The Oreo icebox pie was nostalgic and creamy, and the 24-layer chocolate cake was just iconic, decadent but not overly sweet. Overall, the food was amazing, the portions were generous, and the service and ambiance made the experience even better. I’m already looking forward to coming back!
I had a great experience at Maison Pickle! The food was delicious—comforting, flavorful, and generously portioned. The service was equally impressive. Our server was warm, attentive, and genuinely thoughtful. One small gesture that stood out: it was raining when we were leaving, and without us asking, they gave us extra bags for our leftovers just in case the rain tore through the original one. That level of care really makes a difference. Definitely looking forward to coming back!
We ate here for my friend’s birthday dinner and had a marvelous time! Drinks were excellent and well made, and the food was divine! Highlights of the night were the French onion pull apart appetizer, the mussels, and the steak frites. Shoutout as well for having a gluten free menu! Our server Dean was an absolute delight and took wonderful care of us making it a very special birthday (capping the night with a complimentary 12 layer chocolate cake with a sparkler on top). I wish we had taken photos of the food but we were all too excited to dig in, and there were no leftovers. We will definitely be returning!
We came for the 24 layer cake and weren't disappointed! The restaurant is very busy, even at 3:30 PM, but I guess that's NYC ♥️ Service was swift, the hostess was super friendly, and we got what we came for, which was this insane chocolate cake. Overall a very good experience, would definitely recommend.
I’ve come here multiple times and can confidently say the food does not disappoint. Easily one of my favorite restaurants in the area, plus the portion sizes are huge! I can typically turn one entrée into 2-3 total meals, especially if I share a starter first. Sleeper hit: the d’olived eggs.
Came for dinner and had an absolutely fantastic time! The garlic and parm pull apart bread was insane - shocked how delicious yet airy they were. Tabitha took care of us and was extremely attentive and made our night! She let us know we could split our French onion soup and helped with recos on what to get — like the Oreo ice box cake which was not too sweet.
What a great brunch place! The food was great, fresh and tasty! The French toast was sinful! The place was packed at 1:30 on a Saturday (so it was a bit noisey) but died down a bit around 3:30pm. The wait wasn't long and The food came out quick. I had an feta and spinach omelette and my friend had the patty melt and next to me someone had French toast which looked like it had the works on it! Portions were large! Service was fantastic! I'll be back.
I have to come here twice whenever I’m in New York, it’s just that good. You can’t go wrong with their classic French dip: tender meat, the jus is subtle but well salted and bread is fresh — make sure to let it soak in the Gravey for the best experience. Pro tip: get extra horseradish and a glass of red wine to accompany the sandwich. But their Hot Honey Chicken and toast is perfect. Right amount of heat, great amount of sweet, pillowy bread and crispy chicken.
So we came here hunting for chocolate layer cake but they were out. Probably for the best as we had stuffed our faces with the amazing garlic and parmesan pull apart bread and some deviled eggs. We got French dip sandwiches and the French gruyere frites with bacon. The food was really top notch!
The food is to die for! We got two french dips, the classic macaroni and cheese, and the chocolate cake. The chocolate cake was amazing and it was great leftovers for the next day! The mac and cheese makes a good appetizer to split. The french dips are huge and very filling! Despite the business, service was quick, the person waiting the table was on top of it, and the food came out very hot. The best restaurant in NYC in my opinion!!
We were in town attending the Ryder Cup and was recommended Maison Pickle by someone. We were able to grab a reservation easily for that same night. Once we got there the place was so cute. We ended up sitting in a small upstairs balcony area over looking the main restaurant. Our waitress was great, food was great and vibes were even better! They had a great music playlist going Sunday night and we sang about every song. 3 of us had the steak frites and another had a French dip. All delicious and the garlic pull apart bread was a great starter! Finished our meal off with the 24 layer chocolate cake! Can’t recommend this restaurant enough and we were so happy to find it ourselves! We will definitely be back on our next trip to NYC.
Sunday was my 3rd time coming to this restaurant and the food is always good and the overall customer service is normally good. I recommend the pull apart bread (I’ve tried the honey butter one only) and the D’olived eggs. I’ve tried one of their french dip sandwiches and their patty melt as well, and they’re both good but I don’t feel it always tastes consistently good every time I go.
We chose probably the worst day to leave the house but we were determined. The weather was so cold I can feel the frost from the inside but their heaters were working over time. The service was great, our server was so sweet and took her time to make sure we had the right order. They even allowed us to change tables since the original spot had so much movement around it. The ambiance was very nice. The decor was also very nice a bit of industrial but the booths were a nice added touch. Atmosphere did not get 5 stars only because the sound stays in the room and it was a lot. Outside of that they the coffee drinks and the steak and eggs, now that’s Brunch!
Brunch here was absolutely insanely good. The portion sizes are massive so I highly recommend sharing things among a few people. The bread was melt in your mouth. The french toast was like having dessert. Side of potatoes were crispy and great. We sat at the bar and had a great experience. The waiter/bartender was super nice and accommodating.
Me and my bf went here 2 times, and gotta say this is affordable and they were generous with the portion size. I love love their bread butter pan. We always ordered their French dip. First time, we went we went overboard with it. We thought it was small portion but the portion were huge! At the end, we have a lot of left over. Second time, we went with my brothers and we ordered the same thing again everything taste great. The server were nice and attentive. During the summer it can be hot especially down stairs would suggest like ac? Fan weren’t enough for us. Everything came out to be below $100!!
This isn’t my first time at Maison Pickle and it won’t be my last. The food is consistently good. I tried their winter special, the Coq au vin (a classic French stew of chicken braised with wine, garlic and mushrooms). It was the perfect comfort dish for a cold wintry evening. My date had the Chicken Caesar Salad. The portions here are generous. The highlight dish in my opinion is still their Fried Chicken Bacon ‘N’ Toast served w maple butter + syrup. Good ambiance and service too. Arrived here around 6:30pm on a Thursday night and we were seated fairly quickly (10-mins wait max). I recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys (elevated) American comfort food!
Faith behind the bar was a magician with the drinks!! All of the bread is made fresh and the perfect crunch and softness. Calamari are classic and real calamari!!! The manager Aaron made sure our experience was amazing and had a great vibe! Nothing disappointed on the menu from the Patty Melt to the Crab cake, all were amazing. Did I say 24 layer cake? whoa!! Great time, stop in for a date night or a bite with friends.
First off, the food was very much something I’d have as a last meal, like if I could pick where I’d want to go for my last last this place is definitely in my top 5. I left satisfied and stuffed. Second, our waitress was named Karen, and she was the nicest lady I’ve ever met there, so polite and recommended us certain things that were just amazing, it was great service all around. And last, the atmosphere was great, they had great 90’s music playing, some really throwback hit songs that made us wanna sing along, but we were also chatting away, it was just lovely.
We’ve been here before, and each time it’s great. It’s classic American comfort food - big portions, friendly staff, comfortable seating and tables. The French dips are their specialty, and they’re great - messy, yes, but satiating and impossible not to enjoy yourself while eating. The patty melt was great also - huge, almost impossible to eat, but the meat was great and it was nice with jus. We weren’t overly impressed with the deviled eggs or French onion soup as they were just a touch plain, but the restaurant week deal was excellent value and there really was nothing we didn’t enjoy!
American comfort food at it's best! Amazing setup, easy reservations, excellent and quick service is what our experience was all about. Sasha, our server was friendly and was quick to take our order. We started off with drip coffees which were warm, Grilled Asparagus ($14) which was tasty and well cooked, Crab Cake Sandwich ($24), Mac and Cheese ($21), and Texas Toast Egg and Cheese Sandwich ($18). Food overall was pretty good, and tasty! Service was quick, food arrived within 15-mins of ordering. Noise levels were on the average end and it was easy to have conversations. This will be one of our go-to options for brunch!
Amazing Food and Outstanding Service – Highly Recommended We visited as a party of two without a reservation and were seated immediately. From the moment we walked in, the staff greeted us warmly with eye contact and smiles. Even during busy moments, they continued to smile and acknowledge us whenever our eyes met, which made us feel very welcome and comfortable. We ordered the steak & eggs and the chicken toast, and the food arrived quickly while we were chatting. The sweet and savory combination of the chicken toast was absolutely delicious, and the steak and eggs were cooked perfectly. It was a truly satisfying and enjoyable meal. We paid in cash and weren’t able to leave a large tip, but the staff never made us feel uncomfortable or awkward about it. Every employee was incredibly kind and attentive, and we genuinely felt well taken care of. Even though we arrived without a reservation, the place filled up very quickly, which clearly showed how popular this restaurant is. An excellent restaurant in every way—food, service, and atmosphere. Highly recommended!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
We came here to eat and OMG… everything was so good. The bread alone had me ready to come back soft, warm, buttery, literally perfect. I’m still thinking about it. The portions here are HUGE in the best way. We didn’t get to try the cake, but when I tell you the slices were humongous… like the size of a whole birthday cake 😭😂 Just watching it go to another table had us in shock. Next time I’m 100% getting one. The food overall was amazing. The chicken, the mac and cheese, the breakfast dishes everything was cooked perfectly, seasoned well, and super flavorful. You can tell they actually take their time with the food. The plates come out looking like something you see on TikTok. The vibe inside is really nice too warm lighting, cute setup, and the service was great. Our food came out quick and hot. I honestly recommend this place to everybody. If you love good food and big portions, this is the spot. I’m definitely coming back to try more stuff on the menu because everything looked too good.

Great setting, delicious food (though if you’re European share everything with someone else) and fabulous service (special shout out to Heather!) and of course the chocolate cake was great.

Updated review July 2024: “Everything here is so good!!! I love this place. I will definitely be back. Everything I've had so far is delicious.” A little hot inside, and pretty loud, but no other issues with this spot. Comfortable seating. Outdoor seating available too. Fried chicken Caesar salad was good, buffalo chicken mac & cheese was insanely good, so much flavor, French toast with fried chicken also yummy. The razzle drink and smoky fire cocktail are also good. Make a reservation as it gets busy, and come hungry as the portions are huge. Didn’t have room for dessert but I’d love to try their dessert one day.
I had high expectations for this restaurant and unfortunately, they fell a little short. The good: huge portion sizes (lots of leftovers!), easy to get a reservation, food comes out quickly, and friendly staff. Absolutely get the pull-apart bread—it’s so fluffy and one of the best items on the menu. This is a fun restaurant that’s great for groups as plates are so huge and the space is casual. The bad: Food was good, not great. I was expecting it to be a large improvement on Jacob’s Pickles based on reviews and instead felt like it was only incrementally better. The classic macaroni and cheese could’ve used more flavor. The 24-layer chocolate cake was decent but could’ve been better—it felt more like a novelty than anything. My biggest issue with this restaurant is service and timing. Even though every staff member I spoke with was really polite and seemed nice, it took a really long time for them to return to take my order after being seated and immediately placing an appetizer order. The appetizer came out before they came around to ask about drinks. After they did, all of my entree came out before my drink did, which arrived at the end of my meal. Don’t get me wrong—the novelty of Maison Pickle makes it a really enjoyable spot on the UWS and I’d definitely go back, it’s just not a knockout for me.
I’d rate the food an 8.5 The bread was amazing Mac and cheese was great! Steak was well seasoned. BUT the food did not wow me. Now service - Sarah was great and the hostess as well. The kindness of everyone was so good even down to the busboys. Great service, good food and good vibes
If you stick to their signature dishes - French Dip, chicken and waffles, etc., you'll do well and enjoy. Don't go for the fancy menu fillers here. My dining companion ordered steak cooked medium-well, well, it was way dry and burnt. Thankfully, the waitstaff agreed that it was overcooked and got another - though we question their quality control. The place is much bigger than it looks from the street...
Went on a Friday night, after a recommendation by our daughter. Reservations recommended. We were seated quickly. We had pull-apart bread (very good), mac-n-cheese (good), chopped salad (not that good), and spicy chicken-n-toast [french toast with spicy maple syrup] (unique, good). Good service. Quick service. Figure $30-$50 per person. Glad we went.
Came here during restaurant week, it was very fun getting to try so many different things. Serving sizes are massive! Our steaks were ordered medium rare but they were more medium well when they arrived. But they were very busy so I didn’t complain. The Oreo icebox pie was phenomenal, highly recommend it over the 24 layer chocolate cake. The chocolate cake was aesthetically pleasing but the icebox pie had a much better taste.
The food was immaculate — just look at it! 😍 My friend got the classic French dip and ate everything on her plate. I got fried chicken, bacon, and toast (without the bacon — I don’t eat swine), and they were great with accommodations. The fresnch toast was dripping syrup, if you dont like that asks for it on the side.If you’re vegetarian, I’m sure you can find good platters without meat, and if you’re pescatarian… you’ll be in heaven. Portions are huge — I had to take food home! 😋 What I didn’t like was the seating. It felt like we were eating outside, and I don’t enjoy eating in the cold. I asked to be moved, but even the new area was still chilly. They definitely need to fix the heaters because that can really ruin the experience.
I went to Mason Pickle on the Upper West Side with a friend, and we thought we’d try a little bit of everything—which, in hindsight, may have been a mistake! Their portion sizes are insane. Honestly, just one mac & cheese could’ve easily fed two people. We ended up ordering the pull-apart bread, egg & cheese sandwich, mac & cheese, and French toast… and could barely get through a few bites of each. Everything was rich, buttery, and very delicious. Not exactly light, but definitely satisfying. The only thing I wouldn’t recommend is the egg & cheese sandwich. It was way too greasy for my taste. Just a heads-up: if you’re hoping for a quiet brunch and easy conversation, it gets really loud. But if you’re in it for the food, you’ll leave happy.
Cool place with good food. I got the Berries-n-Cream French Toast. The pictures don't do it justice! The bread was about 1.5 inches thick!! Far too much food, but it was fun to eat. My husband went with the Deluxe French Dip with fries and enjoyed it. The salty fries I stole from him were very tasty with my sweet meal. We ate at 11:15am on a Mon and nearly had the place to ourselves.
Came here twice and agreed that this place is consistently a great place for a group luncheon. The portions are generous and super reasonably priced. Took a star off because I think they could make the food even tastier than it already is today. Will come again.
I came here for brunch and was impressed by both the food and service. The chicken and French toast were absolutely delicious, with the perfect balance of crispy and sweet, however it was a large plate and messy to eat. The mac and cheese was rich, cheesy, and full of flavor. The pull apart bread was fresh and sooo good! My friends also enjoyed their meals but agreed to large to finish. Portions are massive, so come hungry or be ready to take leftovers home. The service was attentive, with staff making sure we had everything we needed. The restaurant stays busy, so I highly recommend booking a reservation in advance.
Was able to get last minute bar seating and this was definitely worth the stop! The garlic bread was really good and the French dip didn’t disappoint! We should have split one French dip though since it was so much food we felt bad wasting part of it that we couldn’t finish! Didn’t really get to see further inside but glad we got to check this place off our list!

Came here for restaurant week with some coworkers and honestly it fell flat of my expectations. The drinks were fine and the appetizers were good but the main meal was not it. I got the sirloin beef which was like a sandwhich with a side of french onion soup to dip it in. I honestly wasnt a fan of it and my coworkers didnt care for their meals either. Got the 24 layer cake and aside from being pretty it lacked flavor… overall I just didn’t care for this restaurant. Only thing I absolutely loved was the watermelon salad. I will dream about that salad forever…
Wait staff were patient, happy and attentive but the FOH lady told us bluntly that we'd have to start ordering appetisers and drinks as soon as we sat down whilst we waited for our guest (there was no queue and no shortage of tables). Atmosphere and decor was sleek and elegant but unfortunately did not make up for average food and the attitude of the FOH staff.
We were expecting so much. Thought maybe with a French word in the name portions might be more euro and less Texas. Steak ordered mid-rare came out uneven but mostly medium well. We did not even order bread which is like an enormous loaf with some very large topping. Seemed like butter. So enormous super size me portions. I got suckered in by the name patty melt. And the server highly recommended it. Except that it wasn't a patty melt and the description on the menu was not a description of what you get. E.g. two patties. And my bad it does say buttermilk bread. I object to other than rye bread. There is a Reuben on the menu so maybe they could make the patty melt to order... grilled rye caramelized onions patty with melted Swiss cheese. This is just a great classic I was disappointed in the monsterous size and mediocre interpretation. This is a place to go if you like making 3 meals out of one. And my daughter did have a small fly on her plate... So we actually did not take her leftovers home
I visited recently and thought the food was good, but not great — solid comfort food, just nothing that really stood out. The biggest downside was the service at the end of the meal. It took a very long time for us to get our bill, which was frustrating since we had a movie to catch. Overall, not a bad experience, but the slow service definitely took away from it. (portions are also massive)
Maison pickle failed to meet the hype for my party. We tried a few things, the best being their sandwiches (the patty melt specifically) and pull apart bread. Their mac and cheese was also very cheesy but left much to be desired. The steak was over cooked, and the cake was dry/stale. The drinks were great and very strong. As for atmosphere, the biggest problem is the tables are much too close to each other and the spaces can be cramped. The moody lighting and decor was great otherwise. Our server was also prompt and kind.
We had mixed feelings after dinner here. On one hand, the prices are very low compared to the average restaurants on the UWS. On the other hand, the service felt like “just tell me what you want.” We received our drinks about 10 minutes after ordering, and my steak was only slightly warm. I expected it to come straight off the grill.
Maison Pickle 2315 Broadway New York, NY 10024 Deluxe French Dip with au jus 24-layer chocolate cake 24-layer funfetti cake The appearance for both the main course and the entree looks fantastic. Good luck trying to hold onto that sandwich without it falling apart on you; make sure you have utensils available. The cake is all right , but the size is not necessary…especially since it will plunge into your wallet even further. My brother and I each ordered the same entree and dessert and the tab was $50 each! Good luck trying to dine here without breaking a sweat because there is no AC or Central Air. Restrooms barely have lighting so have fun doing your business with compromised visibility. All in all, it was an ok experience but the food definitely looks better than it actually tastes. #maisonpickle #upperwestside #frenchdip #24layercake #24layerchocolatecake #24layerfunfetticake
Amazing service, pretty good atmosphere is too cold freezing in there my foot was cold the whole time. THE food omg do not get the chicken and toast it was yummy but so big and sweet, it would be impossible for dessert to taste good after you have that. The eggs were fantastic so were the Cesser salad!
Agh I really wanted to like this place but I just didn’t… don’t get me wrong the vibe is so so cute but the food was subpar at best. As a negative start, we got the crispy calamari which tasted like it was 3 hrs old and the Caesar salad which was basic at best. I’m begging you, do not get the calamari, it was truly disappointing. Our saving grace however was the crab, spinach, and artichoke dip which was tasty but not special and the French onion soup… now that was actually delicious, making it the only appetizer I would get again (if I were to go back which I probably won’t). For our mains, we were all pleased…except for one of us. The eggplant and chicken parm was watery and flavorless but the braised short rib, filet mignon, and French onion steak melt were actually pretty tasty… so maybe this should be called Maison red meat? Have to give a special shout out to the mashed potatoes that came with the short ribs, those were so soft and creamy (especially with the beef au jus). I was forced to get dessert with the restaurant week menu so you’re welcome for this rare review. The key lime pie was fine, it tasted like every other key lime pie I’ve had and the Oreo icebox was nothing special, just a big ol’ Oreo in cake form. To drink, I’d recommend the mulled wine (but note, it was on the sweeter side… like me and this review!
Excellent customer service. The Mac n cheese was the best. The Hawaiian rolls were good, the steak n eggs were so so, I had the chocolate cake. It was good, it's not sweet sweet. It's huge. Took me 3 days to eat the cake. The tables are kinda small and uneven/wobbly, they had food gnats flying around our food, it was kinda irritating. I know they can't control that. But overall I would go there again and try other food plus more mac n cheese.

We arrived on Sunday for brunch The place was packed, our waitress was not so professional and they added 18% default gratuity. The food is not worth the wait honestly.
We had a 1245 reservation and weren't seated until 110 so we stood there in the very crowded counter area getting bumped by bags and strollers while children were screaming and it was giving subway. It was so loud when we were seated that you have to shout to the person sitting across from you, so loud that you can't even hear the server. The honey butter bread was delicious not too sweet which I appreciated I didn't love the the passion fruit bellini I didn't know the hot honey chicken came with a sauce on it but it was good, I don't like mixing sweet and salty but if you don't mind you'll be fine. The steak was seasoned well and the macaroni and cheese was good. The fries were salty but good. The coffee was bitter. The service is excellent our server James was a super star and the food came out hot and quickly.
Sorry Maison Pickle but your French Dip was pretty poor. Tough, chewy, stringy and bad tasting. I suppose I am spoiled after eating French Dip at Houston's / Hillstone. Their French Dip is the gold standard and Maison Pickle just doesn't cut the mustard... There was however mustard on the plate which was never mentioned. I should have know it wasn't going to be good when I asked if the meat could be sliced extra thin, I was told it is already sliced... So it's sliced and sitting around for who know how long... The 24 layer cake tasted stale. I so wanted to love my meal.
We had dinner there last night for restaurant week. About half of us were happy with our food. I thought the caeser salad was an amazing portion and definitely did not skimp out on the deviled eggs. For dinner, One of the girls had the steak frites and said it was delicious. However,to be honest two of us had the mussels and we agreed they were very rubbery and tasted frozen, we did not complain as the restaurant was slammed and waitress was having a tough night and ate it anyway. The restaurant was extremely backed up. The waitress was very kind and did the best she could. Dessert was the true wild ride. Seemed like they were having supply issues all night were running out of wine only recieved one out of the two bottles we ordered, and they completely out of oreo dessert. The manager told us she can only supply two of us with red velvet cake split in half to go which i thought was odd given we all had the same issue and felt the accomodation should apply to all of us. They did have creme brulee as a replacement option but obviously could not take it to go and we were all full. The manager wasnt overtly rude but thought she could have been more accommodating especially since red velvet cake although larger probably cents on the dollar plus she is splitting it in half. Overall i would not recommend to a friend due to quality and and wont be back.

Very disappointing and concerning experience. My party of three was seated downstairs near a yellow hazard sign where a ceiling leak was already known, and sheetrock that had fallen from the ceiling was still on the floor. Several nearby tables had been removed, making it clear this was an ongoing issue, yet we were still seated there. The restaurant was extremely cold (it was ~7° outside with negative wind chills). Fans were running, and there was a constant noise similar to AC. When we asked to be moved, we were told the upstairs was closed, despite seeing other parties seated upstairs, and that the heat was “on but working overtime.” Within minutes of our food arriving, water began pouring from the ceiling like a shower, soaking our table, food, drinks, and belongings. I slipped on the water and nearly fell. This was not just an inconvenience — we were seated beneath a visibly compromised ceiling, where the potential for a more serious incident was obvious. There was no immediate staff response. Eventually, a manager apologized and offered to reseat us or remake the food, but we were already wet, cold, and shaken, so we left. As we were exiting, we were given one $100 gift card. While appreciated, it didn’t align with what occurred. Our table had ordered a $50 brunch bubble carafe, an appetizer, and three entrées totaling well over $130 before tax and tip, and this affected three people, making a single shared gift card impractical. The manager also emphasized that this wasn’t the server’s fault, which we agreed with — but management was aware we had asked to be moved, and this situation could have been avoided. Overall, seating guests near an actively leaking, visibly damaged ceiling reflects a serious lapse in judgment around safety and guest care. I’ve dined here before and expected much better
Overhyped food & god awful service - This is how I would summarize my experience at Maison Pickle. Our server, Carly, was the absolute worst. After greeting us and pouring some water she was never to be seen again. It wasn’t until 20 minutes later we had to finally flag down a server who was on his way out for the night to take our full drink&food order because we couldn’t get Carly’s attention. Once our food arrived we were extremely unimpressed… everything other than the pull apart bread tasted average & honestly comparable to the Cheesecake Factory. We were hoping to end the night on a high with their famous layered chocolate cake, but once the busser cleared our food, Carly dropped the check and walked away…. No additional drink order, didn’t ask if we wanted dessert, nothing. It then took us another 10 minutes to flag her down and tell her we wanted the cake & by then she said “the kitchen said we could only take it to go” as by this time they were closing up. Honestly the most laughable experience with non impressive food. Don’t waste your limited time in NYC by coming here. PS we got the cake to-go, and it also sucked. My group all took one bite and then threw it away.

Maison Pickle: NYC's Brunch Gem (and That Elusive Cake)
Alright, let's talk about Maison Pickle. Nestled here in New York, it’s become one of those spots you just have to hit up when you’re craving a proper morning meal, or frankly, an all-day breakfast experience that goes beyond your average diner. If you've been wondering where to spend a leisurely weekend morning, or even just kickstart a weekday with something special, this place often comes up. Maison Pickle: Beyond Breakfast, a French Dip Dream
Hey New Yorkers! Let's chat about a spot that's become a bit of a local staple for classic comfort food with a twist: Maison Pickle. You might glance at the menu and see "breakfast," but trust me, this place truly shines across the board, especially when you're craving something hearty and satisfying that stretches beyond just the morning.I’ve heard plenty of rave reviews about their lunch, and for good reason. Imagine stepping in on a crisp New York day, feeling that familiar chill biting at
