It was my first time here and I'm not a New Yorker, I'm just a tourist and they are very welcoming whether you are Thai or foreign, I guess they are friendly to everyone. The staff are lovely and friendly. The food doesn't take long time The restaurant is small but cozy. I noticed that they are always busy, so you can't guess when they are not busy. It's good to eat in or to take out. The food is delicious. What I like most about this restaurant is the staff or the owner. They are really lovely.

ME Chicken Rice in the West Village is a hidden gem if you’re craving Thai-style chicken rice. I ordered the steamed chicken rice and it was tender, juicy, and paired perfectly with the fragrant ginger rice and flavorful sauces. The broth on the side was light but comforting, and the portion size was just right. The place itself is small and casual, more of a quick-stop or takeout spot, but the food really stands out for its authenticity and taste. Prices are fair for the neighborhood, and service was friendly and efficient. Definitely worth trying if you’re in the area and want something satisfying and different from the usual.

What a pleasant lunch, for less than $15, you get this meal. The rice wasn't ordinary white rice, but prepared with very delicious slightly sweet flavor, and the soup was also very healing, it seems to calm your nerves because of the richnessness of the radish. All in all, a great experience! Not to mention the wait time was less than a few minutes, and the food was fresh

Used to eat hainanese chicken all the time when i lived in bangkok, this is as good if not better than what I've had there. Such a gem. I love the roasted chicken here. Black pepper lover HEAVENNNNN. perfect rice taste and texture also. The soup is PERFECTLY seasoned and light and perfect wow.

My favorite place for quick lunch near nyu & washington square park. Highly recommend the roasted chicken and the fried chicken! For fried chicken, better to eat while it’s still crunchy. Food came out early, and the price is really good considering the location.

This place is AMAZING. So far have tried the steamed and roast chicken. The rice is aromatic and broth/ sauces are flavorful and fragrant with notes of ginger/ tamarind. Will be trying the fried chicken next!

This place is a hidden gem! I ordered the No. 2 Fried Chicken Rice, and it completely blew me away. I’ve traveled to Thailand, but I’ve never experienced ginger fried rice like this—it was so unique and flavorful that I couldn’t stop taking bites back to back. I received my order no more than 2 minutes after ordering, which was incredibly impressive. I’m already planning my next visit just to try the same plate again, and I’m seriously considering bringing some home after work! The boneless fried chicken was absolutely perfect—juicy and packed with outstanding flavors that really stood out. To top it all off, the chef personally thanked me for my service and even gave me a bottle of water on the house. It’s the little things that make a big difference. I will definitely be back—this spot is worth every visit!

I love their Hainanese chicken rice (combo No. 1, that is) SO MUCH. Hands down more delicious than the ones I’ve had in Hainan. The sauces are fantastic my mixed and a rather core part of the taste. The Thai lady behind the counter is always very friendly. Service is fast. Limited seating but can always get a spot if you wait a few min. Every dish is flavorful. Soups that come with the meals are great too - memorably tasty broth that can probably help with sickness with its warmth and nutrition.

Delicious! VERY generous portions and great price. The ginger sauce was nice and spicy. Three small tables and a street facing counter. People were in and out pretty quick. This is a very homey tasting dish! One caveat- do not recommend the matcha tea. The daikon soup was our favorite!!!

2nd visit: 02/2023 We missed this little shop so we dropped by today. This time, we went here in the afternoon. The shop was filled with many customers. They have high chairs next to the large glass window to look over the 3rd ave. The food was absolutely delicious. We will definitely went back here soon. —————————— 1st visit: 01/2023 We dropped by this restaurant close to the time they close. We bought Roasted Chicken over rice and a side of roasted chicken. The food was amazing. The chicken was very tender and tasty. The rice was very authentic and flavorful. We think they cooked the rice with chicken broth, which made the rice so yummy. The star of the dish was the ginger sauce. Totally recommend. The portion was large. The set will come with Daikon soup. It is the Asian culture to have a simple soup with a heavy meal. The staff made our food really quick and was very friendly. The restaurant space is pretty small but very cozy and bright. The minus point was that they don’t have rest room. That was the reason we decided to have the food to go rather than sit in.

Visit this shop as if your life depended on it! This is the first piece of advice I will be giving others travelling to New York. Rotating between the roasted chicken with rice and the daikon (mooli) soup is the most incredible comfort food experience you will ever have for $13. If you're feeling saucy, their spicy flavour wings are both juicy and crispy, and it's coating reminds you of 'nice n spicy' flavoured nik naks. The servers are also super polite and friendly. The shop is only small, but there were stools available both times I visited.

A hole in the wall, self-service chicken rice joint. I actually liked the texture of the rice and the chicken. Filling portion, not too big or too small. It also comes with a clear soup on the side. They work fast, so it’s perfect if you’re in need of a quick grub. But the sauces were a tad too sweet and that’s a deal breaker for me. Typically you get the tamarind sauce for roasted chicken. Here it’s the chili pepper-vinegar that usually accompanies braised pork. I’m not saying it’s not authentic. I don’t have a problem with being creative and twisting recipes to fit the local audience. I just thought I’d be useful for others to know what to expect.
