We ordered take out from here and the quality was great! I do suggest ordering more than normal cause their portion sizes are a bit small, but it’s okay for the quality.

Got myself a BG ramen and mango mochi for desert. The service was very warm and welcoming, and the food was top notch! Loved everything about this place, definitely a great spot to have a delicious meal!

I would give this place 100 stars if I could. Truly such a hidden gem on the UWS. I am a vegetarian and they have such a good selection of vegetarian specialty rolls, not just the plain AAC or sweet potato tempura (which they also do have). The miso soup is amazing and the service here is always so great.

Mizu ended a long stretch of Manhattan Valley not having any decent Japanese food. Gone are the days of having to hoof it to Yasaka. The staff is pleasant and attentive, the sushi is delicious, the ramen is fantastic, and the hibachi options hit the spot. Super glad they came to the neighborhood. Me and the wife have added them into our regular rotation.

I reccomend Mizu's for a solo meal or a large group gathering. The whole menu is so good. The staff was so kind, and the steak hibachi was the best hibachi I have had. It was tender and the vegetables and sauce were fantastic as well. I also ordered a sushi roll. The salmon was tender and all of the other ingredients were fresh. Overall the price for everything was very reasonable. Will be going back whenever I have a chance.

I almost never write reviews but I just had to recognize the incredible food here. The sushi is so fresh! I can tell that this restaurant really cares about the quality of their ingredients. I would definitely recommend coming and I will 100% be returning! 😀

Very solid sushi, nice casual restaurant, and good staff. What I loveeee here though is the bento box lunch special. It’s a great quantity for like $15- sometimes I share it with two people. Their rock shrimp tempura is soooo good.

This new restaurant offers both excellent sushi and delicious hibachi. The salmon hibachi included a substantial piece of salmon and plentiful vegetables, all perfectly cooked. The specialty rolls were outstanding. We particularly liked the Golden Salmon Roll topped with mango and the Peace Roll. This is by far the best Japanese restaurant in the neighborhood. The staff are lovely, and the prices are very reasonable!

I'm so glad I found this sushi place! It is hands down the best for affordable, fresh, and delicious sushi. The crispy rice appetizer is amazing and so are all the specialty rolls especially the Mizu roll. Quick delivery too!

I’m so glad I discovered Mizu!! I’ve been here over 50 times, and the quality and level of service is consistently top notch every single time. Everyone who works here is so lovely, helpful, and sweet, and the food is so yummy and also very good-value. I’ve introduced it to many of my friends who all love it as much as I do, and this has become our regular spot. Truly a neighborhood gem that I can’t recommend enough!!!

As an Asian, I will tell you that this is one of the most value-for-money Japanese restaurants I have been to in NYC so far. Loved it.

I love ramen, sushi, AND hibachi, so I was excited to try this place. I order ramen even when it's 90+ degrees out. My boyfriend and I ordered the tonkatsu ramen, Akamaru modern ramen, edamame, and a Philadelphia roll. Everything was delicious, the ingredients tasted really fresh and high quality, and the prices are all reasonable. I'm looking forward to trying some of their lunch deals! With both Naruto Ramen and Kyu-ramen nearby, Mizu has competition. But only Mizu has both great ramen AND sushi and hibachi. I'll definitely be back for more!

Found this new restaurant in my neighborhood. I had Arkamaru modern ramen twice and highly recommended. The broth was amazing. Today I decided to try lunch special tonkatsu pork bento,it was good for the price. My favorite dish is Arkamaru modern ramen.

The food is absolutely delicious, and maybe the most flavourful sushi I’ve had recently! The have the best and very well thought out options for vegetarian sushi as well. Green Peace roll is a must try. The hibachi sides are a great option ! And the whole experience is made a thousand times better due to the amazing Maggie who served us both times we came here!

Food very good. Service, great. Ambience good. I came here with a couple cousins who were visiting NYC. We were trying to go to the hotspot Vietnamese restaurant next door but they were closed due to July 4th weekend. Very fortunately and lucky for us the food here turned out to be amazing. We got a chef selection of different sushi and sashimi and also a spicy tuna roll and unni. Each piece of sushi (fish and rice) was the perfect temperature. Very clean taste and butter soft fish. I had to go back a few days later (today) and you can really taste the cold splashing waves, or the deep ocean in the fish depending on what fish you're eating. It's that good. Even the soy sauce is amazing, salty, containing multiple nuanced flavors. The miso soup was also solidly umami (that bold but dissapearing flavor on the tongue). I got the Chirashi where fish cuts were Chef selection and even the rice was amazing. It looked sprinkled sparingly with a brown powder and small fried garlic pieces. That totally elevated the rice adding like 4 or 5 different flavors. When you opt to have a fish cut with the rice it's almost too much flavor. Must-go-spot. Sushi? Come here.

While it doesn't have any special atmosphere, the food and service are very good, I will return.

I moved to the city, and I was so torn because every sushi place I would eat at did not live up to what I’m used to. On one night I came into this place desperate for a good roll, and boy did I get it. It was delicious, I only purchased one roll cause I wasn’t that hungry, but the next day I begged my boyfriend to bring me back. That’s how good the sushi is here. 100% recommend.

I absolutely loved the food, the selection, and the service. It's a cute, clean and super cozy atmosphere. As a fellow restauranteur I can appreciate another business that replies to their reviews and makes the effort in keeping there establishment Grade A, you can taste the freshness in their ingredients and their attention to detail in presentation is superb. My partner and I enjoyed the crispy rice which not too many places have and not to mention their spicy tuna, seared salmon, shrimp and veggie mix tempura rolls. All Delicious and perfectly paired with a Smooth Dry Sake. We cannot wait to visit again and be serviced by Magi and the first server who were all kind and patient while we made our dinner choices as first timers. See you soon Magi!

I am so happy Mizu opened on the Upper Westside. It is a true gem! The staff is friendly, the sushi is fresh, the hibachi is delicious and the service is great! I have brought my friends here and they love it! I will be back many more times.

This place is absolutely insane, although the neighborhood it is in is not the most luxe the food most definitely is. The fish is so fresh and affordable. (For reference that big platter is only 30$ and comes with soup)

I got the sushi lunch special with california, spicy white tuna avocado, and spicy salmon for a considerably good price of $16.88 including tax. Out of all sushi spots I've been to, this place has the most portions in their sushi. I only ate three pieces and I already feel full.😅This was a great place to get some food before my class! Also, the woman in the front was very nice. :)

The food and service was amazing. Hands down the best sushi spot in the area, there is no competition. The gyoza was flavorful, crispy and yet soft. I will definitely come here more often. The only problem was the lack of air conditioning inside the place. But after a while it became cool outside so it cooled down the temperature inside the place as well. 5/5 sushi and 5/5 gyoza do not pass this spot up.

I ordered the Spicy Blue Crab California Roll, Spicy white tuna roll, jalapeño yellowtail roll, Futomaki Roll, and salmon skin avocado. All were great, with the spicy Blue Crab California being my favorite!

coming from socal, this is a great place for japanese food! the fish quality for the sushi is very good, especially for its very reasonable price point as well. my family also really enjoyed their noodle dishes! we were very well attended by the wait staff and they were super sweet for giving us extra dessert on the house when we waited a bit longer for one of the dishes. will be coming back in the future for sure :)

A small gem in upper Manhattan, this is gold. The food is freshly prepared. The service is incredible. My food was cooked at the right temperature. Tasty Japanese food. I ordered delivery last night and I am blown away! I got sushi and the fish was very fresh and flavorful. They even sell a la cart sushi with garnish like you would get at omakase. The chu toro and seared toro and tuna nigiri were wonderful. Even the spider roll and tuna avocado roll were good with a lot of meat. This place is going to be my new go to.

Mizu Sushi & Hibachi is a must try here in Manhattan. The food here is fantastic and each sushi is prepared fresh to order. I especially enjoyed the tuna avocado roll- one of the best roll combinations I tried. Other dishes I would recommend is the tonkatsu ramen, crab cake, and uni sushi. The service here is also incredible, the owner greeted us warmly.

Today, we came to MiZu, a popular restaurant near Columbia University! My friend also highly recommended it and told me to go early for dinner. Otherwise, it would be packed, and there would be no place to sit! We went at 17:00. No one was in the dining hall, but everyone in the kitchen was busy making takeout orders! The environment here is comfortable and elegant! The waiter recommended food to us enthusiastically and patiently! Their food is like a five-star Michelin restaurant, with exquisite, fresh, and melt-in-your-mouth sashimi. The price is low, and the quantity is large! Oh my God, this is the most delicious sushi I have ever eaten!

I came to New York from Florida for a trip. My friend strongly recommended the MIZU restaurant at 940 Amsterdam Ave in Manhattan, which has A comfortable dining environment. The staff were very enthusiastic to introduce the delicious food! Their ingredients are very fresh, the sashimi melts in your mouth, and the price is very reasonable! I will come to MIZU again when I come to New York. I even took takeout back to the hotel to enjoy my food!

Fantastic delicious sushi place! I’ve been looking for a nice neighborhood casual-ish sushi place that doesn’t break the bank and this place is amazing! I’ve never sat in so no comment on the interior, but it looks roomy and spacious every time I come in. Staff are super nice and friendly and my pick ups are fast and no fuss. Always on time and never need to wait! But the FOOD ! It’s so good and the fish portions are so generous!!! I can feel the magnanimity in my mouth every time I take a bite and the flavor is so good…. I’m making myself hungry again writing this review

Just finished a really good meal for a neighborhood sushi place. The fish tasted fresh and the temperature was correct. I ordered two types of special fish: sweet shrimp and chu-toro. Both were very good. Also had the Spicy Girl roll. That comes with the shrimp heads that were cooked and delicious. Certainly a good choice for sushi in the neighborhood and I will be back!

We ordered the seaweed salad and it was literally a tablespoon of seaweed salad on top of a bed of spinach and lettuce which was really odd. Definitely wouldn’t order that again.. the pork gyoza were fine but they were very skimpy with the filling. The rolls were good quality, just, again, pretty small. I wouldn’t come here if you think you’re getting a deal. The prices are reasonable but that’s clearly because their serving sizes are small. The servers were lovely though! We took pictures to upload for our review but that option doesn’t seem to be available for this restaurant on Google which is also weird..

Came here for my sister's birthday, $20 taxi ride coming here. "Minzu Sushi & HIBACHI", they say. No hibachi tables. Waitress apologized, saying the only 'hibachi' was the chef cooking on a grill in the back. Hibachi means grill AND performance. No performance offered. Ended up leaving before the reservation started and we went to an actual hibachi place.

Can’t comment about the food because it never arrived. People who were sat at tables next to us received their orders within the half hour that we waited for our simple uncomplicated sushi for 2. Shocking service and consideration of first time diners. Never again.
