Opinions de Nino's Ristorante New York
We took a friend to eat at Nino’s on 52nd off 1st for dinner. Book a table for 7 and it was already full. Very lively crowd and a piano singer in the bar. When you enter, the reception is right there. The large bar is on the left. Then straight into the main dining room. We ordered all dishes to share. First was arugula salad which was nice and fresh. We also ordered the daily special salad. Then we ordered Cavatelli. Finally we ordered grilled salmon and chicken parmigiana. All dishes were cooked very perfectly and nicely spiced. We brought our own wine and you should note that they charge $45 for corkage, a lot more than other restaurants in this area. Nino stopped by our table twice to make sure everything was good. Our waiter was excellent. Overall a great dining experience so we will definitely go again.
Nino’s new location is absolutely fantastic. From the moment we walked in, the space felt warm, elegant, and genuinely inviting. It’s the kind of room you immediately want to settle into. The service was attentive without hovering, professional yet friendly, and perfectly paced throughout the evening. The food was absolutely impeccable. I started with the fried mozzarella with anchovy sauce, light, and beautifully balanced, and followed with the Dover Sole, which was flawlessly prepared. My husband had the buffalo mozzarella and the homemade fettuccine with lobster, clams, and scallops in a tangy red sauce that was vibrant and packed with flavor. Our friend’s lentil soup and chicken were equally excellent. For dessert, the tartufo and bananas flambé were superb. It was the perfect ending. Add in a thoughtful cocktail menu and a strong wine list, and the entire experience exceeded expectations from start to finish. Nino’s has absolutely nailed it in its new home. We’ll be back!
I hosted about 30 people in the private room in the back for my 30th birthday. When I met with Nino to talk about my birthday, I gave him a pretty high level idea of what I wanted and it exceeded my expectations. We did a buffet style dinner and food was incredible. We had several beautiful traditional antipasto plates, Caprese salad, mesclun salad, classic penne alla vodka, the grilled salmon with vegetables, and a chicken dish. The servers were so attentive, we had wine and cocktails flowing all night. It was the perfect 30th birthday and I highly recommend having a private party here.
Nino's Restaurant is hands down the best place to eat in Manhattan. We celebrated Valentine's Day here, and from the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was absolutely incredible: warm, lively, and perfect for a special occasion. The food was nothing short of spectacular. For starters, the Caesar Salad and Rigatoni alla Vodka were perfectly prepared and bursting with flavor. The entrées: Branzino and Lamb Shank were cooked to perfection, rich, and unforgettable. And the desserts? Pure perfection. The cheesecake and Tiramisu were the ideal ending to an amazing meal. The service truly set this experience apart. Dennis is without a doubt, the best server in Manhattan. Attentive, friendly, and professional, he made sure every moment of our visit was absolutely perfect, making us feel like true VIPs. He goes above and beyond to ensure your time at Nino's is memorable and worth every second. If you’re looking for phenomenal food, an unbeatable atmosphere, and top-tier service, Nino's Restaurant is the place to be. Highly recommend!
Nino’s Restaurant delivered an outstanding dining experience from start to finish. Our group of six was seated in a private room, which was perfect for an intimate and relaxed evening. Service was exceptional — we were consistently well attended, with a dedicated waiter in the room the entire time who made sure we had everything we needed. The food was truly amazing. We started with an antipasto platter, shrimp along with the baked clams and fried calamari — everything was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. The house salads were crisp and well balanced, and the homemade lobster pasta was a standout — rich, delicious, and clearly made with care. The steaks were cooked exactly to order, and a few dishes were even prepared tableside, adding an extra touch of authenticity and a memorable element to the meal. Overall, Nino’s combines excellent service, incredible food, and a warm atmosphere. Highly recommended for a special night out or group dinner.
Celebrated my best friend’s birthday at Nino’s and it was such a great experience from start to finish. The ambiance, food, and service were all amazing. Everything we ate was delicious—especially the penne alla vodka and the salmon. Definitely recommend!
We had a wonderful dining experience at this Italian restaurant. We were seated in the back room, which was absolutely beautiful, cozy, and very well designed — it made the evening feel extra special. The food was exceptional, full of flavor, and clearly prepared with great care and high-quality ingredients.Special thanks to our waiter Dennis, who did an excellent job.His service truly elevated the entire experience. Absolutely amazing experience at Nino's! This newly opened Italian restaurant is stunning — beautifully designed, with a warm and elegant atmosphere. The food was outstanding, full of authentic Italian flavors, fresh ingredients, and perfectly prepared dishes. We visited as a group of 7 people, and everything was handled flawlessly. What truly made the night unforgettable was our waiter, Dennis. His service was exceptional — professional, attentive, friendly, and always with a genuine smile. Dennis took great care of our entire group, gave excellent recommendations, and made sure everyone felt comfortable and satisfied. Amazing food, beautiful restaurant, and top-tier service thanks to Dennis. Highly recommended — we will definitely be back to Nino!
Nino’s Restaurant is absolutely amazing! The meatballs, chicken parmigiana, orecchiette, and Parmesan chicken were fresh, flavorful. Every dish we tried was outstanding, but what truly made the experience unforgettable, was the exceptional customer service. Nino himself is warm, welcoming, and genuinely passionate about making sure every guest has an amazing experience. His personal touch turns a great meal into an invaluable dining experience. If you’re looking for top-tier Italian cuisine paired with hospitality that makes you feel like family, Nino’s is the place to go. Highly recommend!
Ninos was amazing! 10/10 meal and an even better staff! The Italian food was made to perfection between their fresh daily specials, to their classic pasta dishes & second course, we couldn’t get enough. The ambiance and everyone working in the restaurant made you feel right at home. We can’t wait to go to see Nino & the whole crew!!
Delicious Italian meal as anticipated in a comfortable setting with friendly staff made for a nice night out at Nino’s new location. Be sure to try the homemade ravioli! Looking forward to returning!
Warm welcome at the door which is even better on a cold January night. Great table with my wife for a spontaneous date night. Started with the meatballs and caesar which are done the old school way. Split the carbonara and lamb shank because we can’t eat as much as we used to! Perfect night, can’t wait to go back.
Overall just an incredible time at Nino's. They truly make you feel like family from the moment you arrive. The staff is incredibly kind, the food is outrageously tasty and the environment is the reason I dine out. I can't wait to continue eating here and trying new tasty dishes each time. 5 stars that could be more if it was an option.
Forget everything you thought you knew about dining. Nino's isn't just a restaurant; it's a gastronomic adventure! And the food? Pure magic. You've got to try the dry-aged steak Fiorentina – it's a feast fit for a king! And the Cacio e Pepe is so simple, yet profoundly delicious – a real "game, set, match" experience. Trust me, tell Nino your buddy Bert sent you!
Ninos Restaurant offers a tastefully elegant atmosphere perfect for an intimate evening or a night out with friends or family. From the start we were greeted by the wonderful staff and we were delighted all throughout 5 by the service. we shared a delicious multi course meal. some highlights include the home made pastas & meatballs, grilled red snapper, rack of lamb, a cesar salad that can feed an army, and cannolis so good you're guaranteed to ask to take extra home. Looking forward to returning to try the famous bolognese sauce also that everyone raves about!
Nino’s never misses. I was a regular at the original location and the new spot keeps the same quality and vibe. The baked clams are a must… I order them every time, usually with a martini, and both always on point. Consistently great Italian food and service. Highly recommend.
I had been to Nino's old location a handful times back when it was on the Upper East Side and always had a great meal/time. So when I heard he had closed down and moved to a new spot I was curious to try it out and see if it would be as good. Well, it was. My wife and I went for dinner this past weekend and the moment we walked in we felt like we were back at the old location being greeted by Nino with a warm smile like old friends. From there, things only got better. The food and drinks were spot on and even though the staff was still getting up to speed, they were attentive and knowledgeable the entire night. We left there saying we would absolutely go again and were thrilled to see Nino was able to find a great location, and the place hasn't missed a beat compared to the old spot. Try it out - you won't be disappointed.
Nino’s is everything you want in a classic Italian restaurant. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a warm, welcoming atmosphere and attentive service. The food is consistently delicious, with generous portions and clearly fresh, high-quality ingredients. From perfectly cooked pasta and flavorful sauces to well-prepared entrees and standout appetizers, every dish feels thoughtfully made. The staff is friendly and professional without being overbearing, and the overall vibe is cozy, comfortable, and perfect for both family dinners and special nights out. It’s the kind of place you’re happy to return to again and again. Highly recommend Nino’s to anyone looking for great Italian food and a genuinely enjoyable dining experience!
Went to this restaurant last night and it was amazing. The staff is so attentive. The food is delicious. The atmosphere is romantic but very casual. I believe I heard a little live piano music for a little while in the background. Definitely would come back time and time again.
Absolutely beautiful Italian restaurant - the famous Nino’s from the UES is now in Sutton place and couldn’t be a better addition to the neighborhood! The food, service and ambiance were 10/10. Cozy, elegant, warm and inviting - the perfect combination! We loved our dinner and can’t wait to come back very soon. Exceptional and highly recommend.
We had a wonderful dinner at Nino's. We had the seafood salad (this is the only thing I was not impressed much with, little plant for my taste) and meatballs (absolutely wonderful) for appetizers. Branzino and pasta with shrimp for entrees, and both were very tasty. And tiramisu and chocolate mouse cake for dessert. The service was superb. As soon as we entered we were greeted and offered a choice of seats and from that point we got very attentive service. We loved the place and hope to return.
Nino's restaurant on 1st Ave in New York City is a true gem that has stood the test of time for over 30 years. Walking into this establishment, you can feel the old school New York vibes that have attracted countless celebrities over the years (with a pretty cool mural on the wall showcasing all of them through the years). If you're looking for a must-go restaurant in the city, Nino's should definitely be at the top of your list. I had an incredible dining experience at Nino's. I started with a delicious Caesar salad with fresh dressing made at the table with anchovies, followed by a mouthwatering baked clams appetizer. For my main course, I had the perfect rack of lamb, cooked to perfection. And to top it all off, I enjoyed a table-side made banana flambé for dessert. The owner of Nino's was incredibly welcoming and made me feel right at home. The drink selection was top-notch, with a rare find of Pappy Van Winkle bourbon that is hard to come by elsewhere. The overall ambiance of the restaurant was cozy and inviting, making it the perfect place to enjoy a meal with friends or loved ones. If you only have time to eat at one place in the city, make sure Nino's is at the top of your list, this is NEW YORK. You won't be disappointed by the delicious food, warm hospitality, and rich history that this restaurant has to offer.
We found this fantastic place thanks to the restaurant week! The ambiance is fine dining, the service is friendly, and the food is simply amazing. I recall visiting this restaurant about 30 years ago in a different location. The only downside is that they have different pricing for cash and credit cards, which is a common practice among older establishments that cater mainly to the elderly. I hope this place gains popularity among younger generations to ensure its survival for another 39 years!
Came here for Restaurant week lunch time and overall went ok. Initially the server did not give us the Restaurant week menu that they had online so we were just going to order from their regular menu and then a few minutes he comes back and says "my boss is feeling generous today so here's the Restaurant week menu". However he gave us the dinner menu which was $45 per person as opposed to $30 per person for lunch. It was essentially the same exact menu. I didn't mind the higher price but would just be nice to stick to what they advertise online. It's misleading for the customers. The place was nice, quiet, good music. It was a Thursday lunch time so not a lot of people were there. It was a hot sunny day in NYC and they had the AC off when we came in. Another group of people came in and they turned the AC on for 10mins and then turned it back off. I get that there weren't a lot of people in the restaurant at that time but it was extremely suffocating in there and our party of 3 were all sweating. The food was great! Our party ordered appetizers, entree and dessert. For appetizer we got imported buffalo mozzarella and tuna tartare which were both really fresh and yummy. We also got the marinated seafood salad which we thought was a little bland in flavor. For entree our favorite was the braised lamb shank-- the service was big and the meat itself was so tender, it fell right off the bone. Our other entrees were parmasan crusted chicken and grilled salmon which were both pretty tasty but nothing special. For dessert we got tiramisu, cheesecake and chocolate mousse. The food was definitely satisfactory but not something I would go back for. I didn't think anything was exceptional.
That was one of the weirdest dining experiences I’ve ever had. We went in and the owner took us to a back room that no one was in as if he was hiding us from the other customers. This very much ruined the atmosphere which for the price is a large part of the reason why you go out to eat. The food was fine, but I think they heard us talking about how we were alone in basically a garage with tables because at the end they gave us a fruit platter in an attempt to sway our feelings toward the establishment. It failed although the fruit was actually the best part of the whole meal. If you come just get fruit, and if you want quality Italian food go across the street.
I don’t know who paid off the other four recent reviews but this was one of the worst meals I’ve had in New York in recent memory. In their defense the restaurant recently reopened in Sutton Place and the staff is clearly new and inexperienced (which is odd considering the restaurant existed before in the UES) and the restaurant was completely booked. The staff took 30-40 min to take orders/give drinks and bread baskets to every table in our vicinity. They were overwhelmed and clearly didn’t have proper training to scan for plates that needed clearing. The table next to us placed their glasses and bread basket on the side table for servers because no one took them and they had no room on the table. The food was poor to mediocre and felt more like airplane food than fine dining. The gnocchi were leaden and the sauce felt like it came from a can. The veal scallopini had zero prosciutto on it despite it being described as a saltimbocca on the menu. The chicken breast was overcooked. The mussels had no flavor and also came with what seemed like a canned sauce. When we expressed our concerns over the subpar meal to the waiter, there was no reaction or apology. I would recommend if you’d like to see for yourself to try a weeknight and give them a better chance, but honestly your money is best spent elsewhere.
