Opinions de Pastrami Queen New York
Pastrami by the pound! I set up an entire meal at home for family with what I can bring home from Pastrami Queen. There are no pretenders here and its worth finding this little spot to get the real deal. I leave a tip in the jar for the fellows that make all of this good food, and I have always had only the very best Pastrami from them. Recommended
This place was recommended to me by a friend...and it was great! Had the hot pastrami and onion rings. Both were great!
The pastrami was fantastic- best I’ve tried. Slightly underwhelmed with the amount and size of takeaway sandwich for $30+ but the quality is indisputable. We also got a chicken/rice/matzoh ball soup - incredible. Re the size: Was very excited but felt short changed when I opened up the sandwich. Perhaps the inclusion of a side of something to bulk it out would help.
This was a legit little sandwich shop!! My wife said it is some of the best pastrami she's ever had. I had the roast beef sandwich, and it was really freaking good. They load up the sandwiches with a good amount of meat! The onion rings, latkes, and coleslaw were all very solid sides as well. It's a tiny shop, so you have to squeeze in there but it's all a part of the experience. Definitely recommend stopping by here if you're in the mood for a good sandwich!
Loved this pastrami. My top pastrami place along with Katz. We had the pastrami sandwich with noodle soup. Soup was okay but sandwich was phenomenal. I like that they don't add sauce and you do it yourself to suit your taste. We had to wait a little for the table but worth it. Service is fast as well and efficient. They have a decent restroom. Prices are normal as per nyc standard. Would recommend ✨
Pastrami Queen was great! The sandwiches were truly excellent — especially the roast beef, tongue, and brisket. The beef broth served as a dipping sauce was rich and flavorful. The coleslaw was fresh and perfectly balanced, and the local soda was just the right touch. The place was clean (even the restroom!), we found a table right away, got served quickly, and finished our meal without any delays. The check for three was a bit over $100 — definitely worth it for the quality and experience.
I really wanted to try a typical pastrami sandwich, and I think I chose a great place. It's very small and modest, but it has a unique and authentic atmosphere. The staff was very attentive and friendly. I ordered the traditional sandwich with fries, and there were two of us. It was very tasty.
Pastrami Queen is absolutely amazing! Everyone who works there is so friendly, you feel welcome the moment you walk in. The pastrami sandwich is truly a hit: juicy, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. If you’re in New York and craving a real deli experience, this place is a must-visit!
Known for their insanely tender pastrami and rich, flavorful matzo ball soup, Pastrami Queen is a staple for deli lovers. While the space is quite small and fills up fast, the food is undeniably worth the squeeze. Their sandwiches are generously packed, and the broth in their matzo ball soup is pure comfort
We decided to visit this famous spot known for its hot pastrami sandwich after seeing all the great reviews, and it turned out to be an excellent choice! The sandwich was absolutely scrumptious, full of flavor and perfectly seasoned. To make the experience even more special, we happened to run into Adam Sandler—he’s just as friendly and down-to-earth as you’d expect! The place itself is small and modest, very simple in decor, but don’t let that fool you. It’s all about the food here, and that pastrami sandwich is highly recommended!
Pastrami is a serious debate in NYC. Pastrami Queen is one on the best kosher deli in town offering all the classic items form Jewish Eastern Europe food. Concerning the pastrami it’s amazing and be sure to ask for lean or fatty cuts. Also the home cut fries are insane. Nothing fancy here, the service is great. Be ready for a time travel in the 50’s.
Our go to place for pastrami in NYC. Consistently good, never disappointing. service is fast and good just like the food. Cosy with only a few seats, it is worth the wait if it is busy.
Very small place with maybe 5 2 seater tables. Mainly for a quick grab and go kinda place. Classic pastrami sandwich on rye bread, tried a hot dog with a side of coleslaw and garlic fries. \n\nSand…

We went into this place on a whim since we’re big fans of pastrami sandwiches, but I think we would’ve been better off getting deli items and preparing them the way we wanted at home instead. The famous 8-9oz pastrami sandwich wasn’t bad, but for $25 (1/2lb of the same meat was $24 on its own), it was really just the meat on bread with a pickle, and left a bit to be desired for us - though we’ve had about a dozen pastrami sandwiches all over the country, so we may just have certain preferences. We also got the macaroni salad (delicious) and a spinach knish (HUGE and the flavor was good, but it wasn’t properly heated all the way through so we decided to just bring it home). The person who took our order was wonderful and very kind, though the sitting area to eat in was, as other reviewers said, quite small. He was very quick to make sure tables were clean and folks were seated though! All in all, I think I would’ve treated this like a deli instead of a lunch spot and just gotten all the items to go (and just the meat instead of the sandwich) so I could prepare them to my preferences at home. Worth a stop if you’re craving good pastrami and other deli specialities though!

Ate recently at the Moynihan food hall site. Had a hot pastrami sandwich and it had been awhile since I had a pastrami sandwich but was pleasantly surprised at how good it was.
Went to the West Side site with a colleague. Got the Monday night pastrami sandwich special and kasha varnisches. Everything was delicious and service was very fast.

I had a very disappointing experience at this place. We went there to try their pastrami, but the meat itself was nothing special and honestly not worth the hype or the price. To be fair, some of the other staff members were kind and smiling, and they behaved professionally. Unfortunately, one specific employee at the counter completely ruined the experience. When it came time to pay, we were not given any choice regarding the tip. The employee physically covered the touchscreen with his hands and prevented us from selecting a different tip percentage — or even choosing whether to leave a tip at all. We were effectively forced to select the pre-set tip shown on the screen. Tipping should always be optional and based on the quality of service, not something imposed on customers. This behavior felt extremely unprofessional and made us very uncomfortable. Despite the friendliness of some of the staff, between the mediocre food and this unacceptable behavior at checkout, I would not recommend this place and will not be coming back.
Kind of pretty good? The meat is sliced thinner than katz and the sandwich is much smaller (for almost same price). Soup came out very fast because they did not heat it up (or season it at all). Sandwiches were also not really warm. Price of the meal was kind of crazy. I am a local and stopped by because it is supposedly a classic. I’m gonna stick to my go-to on Houston street. Service is slow and people waiting for tables stare at you and get in your space. If you need to try this place just get it to go.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining about the $50.00 per pound pastrami, that’s always delicious, BUT the packets of prepared mustard just cheapens the entire experience. Here’s some free advice: fill plastic soufflé cups w/lids with the same brown, spicy mustard you serve at the tables. Isn’t that what you used to do? I’m sure it will be greatly appreciated by others as well.
Lets get right to it: $30 for the sandwich wasn’t worth it. Sandwich wasn’t horrible, a bit dry and had basic flavor but still edible (for $2 a bite of course) I just feel there shouldn’t be reviews or ravings of “known for huge sandwiches”. A huge sandwich should have me full or saving half for later. Im still hungry and Im definitely not a big back. I can appreciate great food for the price but this didn’t add up for me and I work all over the city to queens and brooklyn. Try it and form your own opinion of course but don’t go in with high expectations. I didn’t even have enough dressing to finish the other half of my sandwich. Ps dont let the photo fool you, sandwich is barely 2 lbs Id say

I really don’t understand why people enjoy this place. I ordered the pastrami sandwich and the bread was extremely dry while the pastrami itself was cold. The chopped liver was acceptable, but again it was served with dry bread. The service felt as if they were doing me a favor, which is never a good feeling. I will not spend my time or money here again. There are many other places that offer a much better experience.
Just because a place has been around for a long time doesn’t necessarily make it good. This feels like one of those spots that people enjoy simply because they pile on a lot of meat. If you’re someone who values quantity over quality, you might like it. But overall, the food and experience didn’t live up to the reputation for me.
Taste Alright. Cut thinner than KATZ. Sample Portion was cut the Size of Two Strips of Bacon. Two actual half piece of bacon slices.. Rrr. The Sandwich Size was no different than the Deli Boars Head Sandwich TRUFULLY. $33 "" FORGETABOUTIT"" The Staff Was The Problem.. I'll leave it there and I actually wanted to go down NEW YEARS EVE to KATZ the driver suggested Pastrami Queen, he Now Owes Me A Trip To KATZ.. CHANGE THE STAFF... Sandwich tasted Proper.. I been going to Katz and old CARNEGIE DELI for over 40yrs... Yall gotta it just change the STAFF... ONE LOVE...

Very very small portions for sandwiches for the price. Also, the mashed potatoes have an element of fake powder in it. NOT quality. Very disappointing and expensive. Never coming back.

I ordered a pastrami sandwich, a brisket sandwich, and French fries. Everything arrived super cold and chewy. The brisket wasn’t even brisket — it tasted like boiled beef on a hero roll. Nothing was flavorful, and the overall quality was really disappointing. I genuinely hate writing bad reviews, and I always try to avoid it, but this was too much. It felt disrespectful to serve food like this
I was passing by this shop and thought a hot pastrami sandwich sounded good! I looked at the menu and thought that $15 for their JR sandwich was pretty high, but if it was good, well worth the price! It wasn’t good. As pictured, the meat barely covered the bread on a SMALL sandwich! The pastrami was also “crumbly” and dry! It was ready so fast after I ordered it that I was still paying for it when the sandwich maker brought it to me! This probably meant that the meat was pre-sliced! Which would explain the dryness. By going to a shop named Pastrami Queen, I thought that I’d be getting a great sandwich! I guess I was thinking that I was getting a Katz quality sandwich! So very disappointed! Well, the young lady at the register and the guy that made my sandwich were very polite and friendly. At least I don’t regret leaving a tip for them!
