Opinions de Polash Indian New York
Loved the food, It was the best!!!! The service was really nice. It was an amazing & delicious experience in nyc :)
The food was so good and he even gave us free drinks 💓. Please come here and support local businesses.
I highly recommend this place. The menu was diverse and had many amazing choices and the food was tasty and affordable. The waiter we had was incredibly nice. I strongly recommend the Chicken Tikka Masala because we enjoyed it very much. The place was small but we enjoyed it and the only thing that I would recommend the staff to do is add some music. A small speaker would make the meal even greater :) Truly a hidden gem!
I can't speak to the atmosphere, as I always order via delivery service. But their food is consistently excellent. If you enjoy great Indian food, I urge you to give Polash a try!
Just L🫘V E — their basmati rice mixed with veggies! Amazing flavors including the vegan samosas ! What a treat, honestly, simpky too too good for words !
Ordered their chicken tikka masala and cheese naan for delivery. The tikka masala was super hearty, as opposed to other Indian restaurants, where it can often be thin/runny. Also, they give you a small container of delicious pea soup as a bonus. Definitely a bang for your buck, I’ll be ordering from them again.
I have been eating Polash since they first opened 15+ years ago on 119 & 3rd and their food is just as good now as it was back then! Highly recommend the samosas, tikka, tandoori, shrimp madras (ask for it spicy) & cheese poori but we have had so many dishes over the years and everything is always delicious so try it all
I remember maybe 10 years ago when they had their restaurant location on third Avenue, I came here with my mom and grandma and sat inside to eat their lunch buffet. Now that they’re on first Avenue, they’re more of a takeout location but the ingredients are just as I remembered them and now they’re even closer to my home! This is what I describe as comfort food for the SOUL! This place always puts a smile on my face with the delicious tastes, fresh ingredients and price. My favorites by far are the chicken tikka masala, the fried rice, and the samosas, both veggie and chicken. The only thing I wish they had was pani puri but it’s amazing nonetheless. I wish I had photos to show you but I DEVOURED my order so I have nothing to show for it! Hahahahha! Don’t walk, RUN to Polash for amazing Indian cuisine.
Food was delicious, came hot and in 15 minutes! Fastest delivery ever, I was shocked. I was a little disappointed that the Chana Masala had yogurt. When I called about the order, I was told "Chana Masala ALWAYS has yogurt." Although I've never had a dairy chana masala dish at any other Indian restaurant, and I've been to many. Nonetheless, the Mulligatany soup was flavorful and comforting. The restaurant threw in a complimentary dal which was also outstanding. Fiancé said the Chana masala was great regardless, it looks like this restaurant will be a popular choice for us from now on.
Apparently moved to this new location after 18 years a few blocks up. Have to say I was impressed with both the food and the service I received. The staff was extremely friendly and went out of their way to make you feel comfortable . I ordered chickpeas with spinach and garlic nan. Both very good and on par with other good Indian food in the city. Comes with a small container of rice and a soup. The soup was outstanding. A yellow lentil or pea soup hard to tell but spiced very well with the appropriate amount of seasoning. Only two tables on site but Pro Tip: There is a park with a bathroom and tables at the school on 118th between 1st and 2nd ( Not Open Sundays ). I ate there in the bright sunlight. Very nice lunch. Price was fair for what you get. Recommended.
Awesome Indian food that's a bit hard to find in this area. Place is a bit small (relocated) so only has two tables. The daal, chicken tikka appetizer, and lamb vindaloo were all superb. Prices extremely generous. Would come again. Very nice people!
Absolute best place for Indian food in East Harlem/UES, and it's Halal! I've tried almost every Indian restaurant within a 20 block radius of my apartment and this is by far the best! I order from here regularly and the quality is so good that I recently had them cater my wedding buffet dinner. Mohammed helped us plan the menu, showed us the different size trays available, provided pricing on multiple options and delivered the food himself, on time! Everyone at the party raved about how juicy, tender and delicious the lamb and chicken were as well as the rice, vegetables and Naan. All our guests left with the restaurant's contact info. We will DEFINITELY be back to cater our future parties here. THANK YOU for an amazing experience!
We visited this place for a light meal and ordered Dal Tadka with rice for our entrée; the dal was decent. For appetizers, we had chicken tikka, which came with lettuce, tomato, and lemon. It was edible, though there was a noticeable amount of food coloring. We also tried the fish tandoor (salmon), which was essentially fried salmon with some fried onions. Again, there was a lot of coloring, but it was edible, especially with the dal and rice. The service was excellent, and the prices were reasonable. The restaurant has limited seating, with just two tables and a total of eight chairs. Overall, it was a good spot for a quick, light, and affordable bite.
Pretty good. I've had worse indian food at better rated places for a lot more money. It's weird that they give dal with the order of an entree, but I don't mind. It was solid. The garlic nan was really good. Garlicky and a lot of coriander. Not too buttery, which could be a good thing or a bad thing depending on what you're looking for. Chicken tikka masala was thick, not too tomatoey (which is good), and tasted nice. Could've used the tiniest pinch more salt. I got it medium, but it was pretty mild in terms of spiciness. The chicken breast was cooked perfectly, which is pretty rare in many restaurants around the city. Solid portion size. Good prices. Good service. Edit: The lunch combos don't seem worth it to me. They give a small portion of the chosen entree, plus 2 pieces of naan, a bunch of rice, and a salad with a small amount of chickpea saag. I got the tandoori chicken lunch combo and, with one tandoori chicken leg, naan, rice, and salad, I was eating a lot of plain rice and plain naan. Doesn't make much sense. Tandoori chicken had a good flavor but was a bit underseasoned. If you want it, I'd suggest just ordering the entree and not the lunch combo.
2013 Review: I came here for a quiet dinner with my boyfriend and was not disappointed. The interior is big and spacious, and there's a full bar. The waitstaff are very friendly and attentive, I swear my water glass never had a chance to be empty! The food is flavorful, delicious, and filling; if you order an appetizer and an entree, you will leave here totally stuffed! I especially liked that when I asked for my dish to be on the spicy side, it was actually SPICY! Definitely my go-to place for Indian in the area. 2023 Update: 10 years later, and we still dine-in and order out from here regularly. Food is consistently delicious!
The chutneys and daal and mango lassi were watery, but everything was flavorful, and the samosas were good. We ordered the (spicy) vindaloo and chicken saag and mutter paneer. I requested no straw but they still gave me a plastic straw, at least they didn't give us any plastic utensils.
