Opinions de Roxy Diner New York
Stopped by for a late lunch while visiting NYC. The Matzo Ball soup was delicious. The highlight for food was was definitely the cheesecake. Our waitress, Danielle, was the best! Very friendly.
Great gem in New York! Cozy and well maintained with a plentifully unique atmosphere. Our server Jessica was great and went above and beyond for our experience. Would dine again.
I was dying of hunger and I’m a carnivore and I had a fantastic pretty decent size hanger steak and three eggs and it was killer. Plus my server, from Bangladesh, Monto maybe was his name, was incredibly kind very helpful put up with all my changes and was just a great guy to talk to as well! Couldn’t have been happier so cheers to Roxy!
I was here in December of 2024 with my adult son. We came twice to Roxy’s deli and the food was absolutely wonderful. This December in 2025 I brought my wife to Roxy’s. We had a pastrami sandwich. Absolutely outstanding.
Food is great! We’ve been here everyday during our trip to NYC. Breakfast and lunch are amazing! Go try this place out and you will definitely be back! :)
Loved this place, it was busy but everyone got served in a good amount, servers are quick and nice! 🥰 Pastries are delicious 😋and food presentation are so cute. I would recommend this place to anyone✨
great service. Buffalo chicken Mac 10:10. Amazing music and big portions. I love this place with all my heart and will definitely be apart of my weekly routine.
My sister and I were welcomed and seated immediately. The server was super nice and omg the pastrami/corned beef sandwich was amazing! Fantastic
We stopped in for a traditional NYC deli sandwich. The pastrami open face was loaded and delicious! And the roast turkey club was equally delicious. The wait staff were friendly and very attentive. Loved all the caricature drawings of all the famous actors. This deli is a must visit restaurant while in NYC!
Roxy Deli is a great place to go to eat. Their portions are great, large sandwiches the pastrami and corn beef are delicious, cheese cake is amazing, service is very good. I definitely will come back. Great vibe with great artwork.
I had such a great experience here, fast & friendly service! Clean, diner style food. Our waiter Monto was so kind, he even took pictures for me! Thanks again!
We had an amazing lunch of Salomon with lemon sauce, mashed potatoes, and green beans - DELICIOUS! My daughter thoroughly enjoyed the wings with buffalo sauce. Monty the floor manager was attentive, kind, and fun. We will come back!
My dad had “the best sandwich ever”. The Pastrami and Corn Beef was unreal. Monto was a great server and helped us have a great experience. Would definitely suggest coming here for some food and a beer if your roaming the city.
Had the pastrami & eggs and the corn beef & eggs for bfast. Amazingly delicious is an understatement. Did not disappoint at all and Thai our server was awesome! Amazing service and food!!
I'm eating a cheese toastie every day in New York and with respect to all the other cheese toasties I have loved, my heart belongs to this one. Softest bread, double cheese melt, grilled with lashings of butter. Loved the quirky art walls, and the cheerful staff. Anyone saying this is pricey doesn't eat out much, it's perfectly priced for size, qty, Manhattan location and service.
Great deli for a large family! The service was excellent—friendly, patient, and efficient even with a big group. And the BLT… absolutely to die for. Fresh, perfectly made, and worth coming back for alone. Highly recommend!
What a great experience for my whole family! Cozy atmosphere, excellent and friendly service, and amazing food! The food came out fast and was delicious. Large portion sizes. Multiple staff members came up to check on us and make sure we were enjoying our experience. Would def come again!
I came here consistently for two years, skipped a year and came back. I have been in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade for three years now, and this is the perfect place to come to on Thanksgiving when everything is busy. This deli has a great atmosphere and the servers here are very kind. 10/10 recommend if you want to have delicious food and want to stay away from fast or greasy food in New York. Visit if you get the chance!
The food was delicious and the portions were huge. It was legitimately the biggest Reuben sandwich I have ever seen and the best tasting. The floor manager was very friendly and the food was delivered promptly. Will definitely visit again.
Had the Ruben and cheese cake. It was by far the best. The customer service was amazimg. MONTO the store manager was amazing! He checked on us continuously. He was very wel coming with a bright smile. If your looking for good food and good drinks this is the place to goo
Visiting from Texas and spending Christmas in NYC! I would 100% recommend this family friendly diner on 7th street! Delicious hot food, fast service, beautiful decor, and the best NY style customer service anyone could ask for. We appreciate you making our experience special!
We stopped into the Roxy Diner before the Rockettes show and it was a great choice. We ordered a turkey Reuben and a pastrami Reuben, along with onion rings and a side dish of pickles and coleslaw. Everything came out fast, hot, and really tasty. The only small note is that the Reubens could have used a bit more sauerkraut and extra Thousand Island dressing—but when we asked, they brought the extra sauce over right away, no problem at all. Overall, a really solid, satisfying meal and a perfect spot to eat before a show at Radio City. We’d happily come back again.
Went there around 4pm. The place were empty, the waiter was an older nice man with a voice like morgan freeman. His service was good and even he lend us his cell phone, because we need to make some calls. Ordered the pastrami sandwich and turkey sandwich, they were nice. Their coffee is just standard.
We’re visiting NY from Austin for Christmas and had such a great experience thanks to our waitress, Danielle. She was friendly, attentive, and made us feel really welcome the whole time. She checked in on us, gave helpful recommendations, and everything felt easy and relaxed. Honestly, her service made our visit even better. Thank you,
This was our second time eating here during our 4 day trip to NYC. The food is absolutely delicious. Our waitress the first time was amazing. Very attentive and it was very fast service. This second time, it was very very slow. Although the food was good, the service was slow. Overall, I would still recommend this place!
The pastrami sandwich at this place always hits the right spot. Stopped in one day for dinner after visiting Central Park for the first time. I had a pastrami sandwich that I couldn't finish but was worth the stop. I had a Long Island that knocked my socks off. I had no problem sleeping that night.
Really good meals. Large portions. Best cheesecake ever! Service was great and no wait.
Walked in for breakfast and was greeted by the most charming host, Pierre. The decor is also very charming. We sat by the window and had coffee and orange juice. I had the cheese and bacon omelet with potatoes and toast. The omelet was fluffy, hot, and full of bacon. The potatoes had a good seasoning. My husband had three eggs with homemade corn beef hash and potatoes and a bagel.
Awesome place to stop by. A must have. Family friendly, great food great quick service. Everyone was helpful and courteous. A definite go to when in New York. Monto (floor manager) was great and very entertaining.
Great spot away from the hustle but with a view of the Times Square lights. Great food and attentive team make for a great NYC meal. Treat yourself to a special breakfast!
This bakery is amazing! The food is always fresh and delicious and with great quality. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, perfect for enjoying a good time with friends and family or even by your self. The staff is friendly, attentive, and provides excellent service — mainly the waitresses Dani and Jessica. I will definitely come back!
The restaurant offers a very pleasant experience from the moment you arrive. The atmosphere is welcoming, well-organized, and comfortable, making it ideal for both family meals and gatherings with friends. The service was attentive and efficient, with polite staff who were always willing to help. The dishes stand out for their great presentation, rich flavors, and high-quality ingredients, and they were served within a reasonable time. The menu is varied and caters to different tastes. Overall, it is a place worth visiting and one I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a good meal and excellent service.
I visited the restaurant for lunch and absolutely loved every dish! Everything was delicious — the pasta and the sandwiches were perfect!! Thays’ service was amazing, and we had a great conversation with the owner, Ofra, who was incredibly welcoming and shared the whole story behind the place with us. I highly recommend it, definitely the best place we visited on our trip.
I went to Roxy this week with my family for breakfast, and it was beyond amazing. From the moment we walked in, we were treated with genuine care and respect. The hostesses seated us right away, got our drinks quickly, and took our order without any delay. The restaurant was decorated beautifully with Christmas decorations everywhere, creating a warm and festive atmosphere. I ordered the waffle with fruit, and it was huge—perfectly cooked and topped with delicious whipped cream and fresh fruit. Everything was fresh and satisfying. Overall, the service, atmosphere, and food were all outstanding. I’ll definitely be coming back to Roxy more often.
I went to Roxy this weekend and had an amazing experience. The restaurant was beautifully decorated and had a festive, welcoming atmosphere. I ordered the pastrami sandwich, and it was incredibly juicy and full of flavor. The service was top-notch—my order was taken as soon as I was seated, and the food arrived quickly. Overall, everything from the atmosphere to the food and service was excellent. I’ll definitely be coming back.
We loved this deli!! It was the cutest little street cafe for breakfast. We ended coming by every morning of our trip. It’s quiet with a perfect panoramic glass view to watch the city street. Also DO NOT sleep on the chocolate croissant! It was to die for, sadly I ate it all before I got a pic lol.
Great for families! Food was delicious. Service was very friendly and quick. Great location. We were so happy to stumble upon this place and we’ll definitely be back. My 6 year old was very happy with his giant bowl of yogurt and his bagel. It’s usually hard to find something on a menu he is happy about but he was super excited about his breakfast this morning!
The most amazing food I’ve had ever. Breakfast was so relaxing for my family, very chill and cozy atmosphere. Many people came out to talk to us, checking in if we were OK and the food was good. Many choices for breakfast and it was all drool worthy. Our food came out in ten minutes, oh my! Really nice decor all around, you could tell this place has been running for a while. Overall, amazing restaurant! Anyone in New York City NEEDS to go.
Out of all the delis this wasnt close to the best, but the sandwiches were good and service was ok. There is a ton of complaints about cost and 20% tips, but this is MANHATTEN, and its in TIMES SQUARE! The overhead has to be insane. The sandwiches were bigger than my head so theres that, we shared
Pastrami on rye with Swiss, saurekraut and Russian with fries, $27.99. Delicious. Wine was skunked, the server did replace with fresh glass. This is a great location with lots of windows overlooking the street. Dirty windows. Filthy. Do yourself a favor and clean the damn windows. Also, the hole in the bathroom door would be better repaired, then plugged with paper towels.
Visited Roxy at a late night. Average entree is like $20 to $30. Including a drink, each person should pay around $50. Suitable for a group of family. You won’t feel awkward by crying baby at this place. Food is around the average. It’s not a surprise level food but you will feel ok. I really enjoy the seat near the window. It’s a chill spot with a view of pedestrians passing by. Overall, I recommend Roxy to tourists who want to have a meal and take a rest.
Looking for a diner to eat at. Walked by and it looks cool. I'd say it's geared towards tourists so prices might be a bit higher but it's Manhattan. Food was good not great. Automatic Gratuity on the bill. Be aware...
Wandered around pretty late at night trying to find a spot to eat and got pulled in by the owner or manager here. We had a lovely time. Extremely friendly staff and the food came out quickly. A few items we wanted were unavailable, but that could be due to the hour. The penne alla vodka was good given the deli atmosphere.
Typical NYC deli/diner. Old school atmosphere with a decent sized menu and good food. Nothing amazing but the food was exactly as I would expect. Quickly served, basic but tasty and reasonable prices for NYC. Only surprise for me was they serve unsalted butter which you don’t usually see.
We got here for lunch during the cold period around NYE. It seems like there was no insulation, so we had lunch with our coats on. They forgot to make our order, so needed to wait more than ~40 minutes for our food. The food was okayish, but nothing to write home about. The 20% 'mandatory' gratuity is true, but mentioned nowhere. Very stupid.
I really wanted to love this place because the atmosphere is solid—it’s got a great look and a nice energy for a night out. However, the experience was dampened by the service. After being seated, we waited at our table for 20 minutes before anyone even acknowledged us or took a drink order. It felt like we had been forgotten in the shuffle. As for the food, it was alright. Nothing was necessarily bad, but it didn't quite live up to the cool vibe of the restaurant or justify the long wait.
It was cold outside and we tried few other places that were all booked out. This place I would not recommend. Whatever we ordered was not good, I am sorry to say but seems to be the wrong business for them. I can confirm all the low ratings in the net. You better go to the Pizza place next door.
Go to one of the many other places nearby. This place looked likes the cozy diner that you're looking for, but it isn't... The food was disappointing. The server was nice, if a little slow. The bill already had the tip added when we got it, though they reluctantly agreed to change it when we queried. Go to Astro instead!
My friend Fabio and myself got in the restaurant a little before 2:00 p.m. on Sunday for the 14th of December. Our idea was to have brunch, and we were handed a breakfast menu. That was fine, except that we were informed later by a waitress that she had given us the wrong menu and that the right menu was the lunch menu and there were no egg dishes available in that menu. We adapted and ordered hamburgers. The presentation of the hamburgers was below average, but they tasted good. Our waitress was not exactly full of charm, to say it nicely. But we were approached by another waitress called Danielle who was very nice with us and with the people that she was serving next to us. There is much work to do for this luncheonette to be competitive. There needs to be a brunch menu or at least a more tolerant schedule for breakfast on weekends.
Stopped by for some food and drinks with a friend. We were welcomed upon entry, even made us laugh. Very inviting. Ordered the bang bang shrimp, wings, fries and 2 drinks. The shrimp was horrible. Just a bunch of breading. The fries were pale, like were they really fried lol. The wings came out warm and went cold quick. No dipping sauce provided even though the menu states dipping sauce. The drinks were just alcohol. That may be appealing to some but not me. Couldn't even drink it. My table was left with dirty dishes on them when we were clearly done. Only removed when I asked for the bill. The sad part is I work across the street. I don't think I'll be back.
Service in this place is none existent. Dined her on Wednesday for lunch. No one greeted us upon entry. Waited around till someone came out the kitchen to seat us. Took our order and disappeared. Dropped off the food and disappeared. No utensils. I had to get up go find him for utensils and napkins. Later on brought the mac and cheese and ran away. Got up again to go and find a serving spoon utensil. And hot sauce. Food was basic bland. Didn’t bring check. We got up and went towards the back to find him to pay. Reciept was wrong. Added extra food items we never ordered to our check. If I didn’t review it they were ready to check. M HORRIBLE service. Double check your receipt before paying. Or just don’t go here. So sad.
My mate and me are discovering New York City. We were hungry and it looked good from the outside. Better walk to the next restaurant. The meals are expensive and disgusting. We had the Roxy and Pastrami Burger. Both were really disgusting. We had to ask for a fork. Service was just okay. But in the end you have to give 15% service fee. Wouldn’t have give so much. Better walk around.
Just awful. The place was nearly empty when we walked in at about 8am for breakfast. The lack of customers should have been sign that this was a lousy, no good place. My wife ordered blintzes and I ordered oatmeal which we thought would be quick. More than a half hour later I get an enormous bowl of undercooked oatmeal. That's it. No fruit. No butter. No milk. No brown sugar. No raisins. Nothing. It seemed clear that someone in the kitchen threw a whole box of oatmeal into a giant pot and got it wet and hot, but didn't cook it. When asked at something to put on it, the waiter said he would check. Ten minutes later he reappears and says they don't have any bownsugar or raisins or fruit. My wife's blintzes were leathery and the filling was some kind of super sweet chemical concoction. Not resembling cheese. Walking in the door and not turning around and walking back out was a waste of our time and money.
You need to change your tipping system immediately. Tips must be decided by the guest, not automatically set at 20%. A tip is earned based on the quality of food and service, not demanded. Do not add a tip to the bill without the customer’s clear approval.
Remember when Roxy Delicatessen was in the Bowtie building in Times Square? Yes? Well this version of it is NOTHING like that restaurant. Just go to another well established restaurant or diner in the area, Carnegie, Astro, Junior’s, Stage Star Deli, etc. It was so underwhelming. I had to be that person to leave a bad review for others to avoid. Hopefully the owners will take notice and do something about it. Seeing from reviews here, it doesn’t seem like it.
Probably one of the worst restaurant experiences I’ve had in New York. I ordered a smoked salmon bagel that was supposed to come with cream cheese, but it arrived completely dry. When I asked the waitress, she told me I was “supposed to add it in,” even though there was none on the plate. After pointing out that the menu clearly states it comes with cream cheese, she walked away and returned with a tiny portion on a separate plate. The food itself was bland and totally forgettable. To top it off, when the check came, there was an automatic 20% gratuity added — even though it was just the two of us — because they decided to classify us as a “group.” On a side note, the interior was cute… but that’s really the only nice thing I can say. Overall, definitely not a place I’d return to.
This restaurant is absolutely HORRIBLE. To begin, the serve MEDINA completely passed us but greeted the customers that were seated AFTER us. We then asked her why she skipped our table and she responded with a nasty attitude. Now the food. I only gave one star because the French toast was soft and good. But everything else ordered was TRASH. My bacon was not crunchy, the eggs were runny and my hot chocolate was served warm. Shoutout to Mouni, he was really nice to us and served us with a smile. Overall I will not be coming to this restaurant again ever
Overpriced and poorly run. Over $60 for an oatmeal, two eggs, and two coffees is absurd. The eggs were wrong (over easy instead of over medium), the service was slow, and we were handed the check before I had even finished eating, making us feel rushed out rather than welcomed. One coffee cup arrived stained with lipstick, which is unacceptable and raises serious concerns about cleanliness and attention to detail. For what they charge, basic cleanliness and decent service should be the bare minimum. Absolutely not worth it. Would not return or recommend.
Do not go! Stumbled because it was cold and they had hot chocolate. It was dead yet the servers took 15 minutes to acknowledge us. Food was not good. Server messed up our order and gaslit us. We were hungry so we went with it. He knew we wanted the hot chocolate and charged us $10 each for literally basic hot chocolate. On top of that it was overpriced and they added a %20 gratuity to the bill, despite the service being terrible and restaurant being slow. DO NOT GO
When we were seated, nobody came over to greet us for 5 minutes, and it was completely empty inside. When we ordered our food, my soup came out cool, not hot. We also ordered two rubens, both were horrible. There was no French dressing and there was so sauerkraut or coleslaw. When we asked the host about it, he said they didn’t have coleslaw. So we got the French dressing, but he only brought one. The food was not good and the service was not good, don't recommend .
I really, really dislike writing negative reviews. Almost all my reviews are glowingly positive. But my dining experience at the restaurant last night was abhorrent. When we first arrived, an hour before closing, we asked if the kitchen was still open. It thankfully was but we were told our app and entrees would be put in all together. Not a super big issue, but a little weird. If we were closer to closing time, I would expect that. The service was decent and quick, but not anything wonderful. The food was edible, if not disappointing. The General Tso’s cauliflower starter we had was pretty delicious. My husband ordered the Mediterranean Beef Kebob. Immediately, he pulled out a long black hair in his rice. They replaced it quickly enough. But this dish also was meant to come with tzatziki. What they gave him was vanilla Greek yogurt. I tasted it. Then when we brought that up, they sent out two MORE containers of vanilla Greek yogurt. No dill or cucumber to be found, if that what they were trying to excuse this as. After the third one we were told “Oh, we have a new chef. He must have used the wrong yogurt.” And that was it. No follow up, no apology, no manager sent over, no actual tzatziki. My Roasted Lemon Herb Organic Chicken was meant to come with roasted potatoes and spinach. I ordered this over the salmon specifically because I did not want green beans. My chicken came with sloppy, wet mashed potatoes and green beans. When this was brought up to the staff we were told “Oh, he just replaced it with similar stuff.” I was only mildly annoyed because if I had been told, I could have come to expect different sides or ordered something else. Our waitress left before we finished our meal, which I won’t hold against her, people have to get home. But we were then left with who I can assume is the manager who added a 20% gratuity onto our bill. For two people. Who had something wrong with almost everything they ordered. We are not the kind to ask for things to be taken off the bill, or given a discount or free dessert. We do not want those things at all. But an ADDED gratuity for a party of 2 where so many things went wrong? More distasteful than the actual meal.
Went to this restaurant with my family on 12/14/25 thinking it would be a good experience based on reputation. Sat for almost 10 minutes before anyone asked if we needed drinks (8:30 at night and NOT busy). Ordered Matzo Ball soup that awful, French onion soup was terrible as well. We also ordered Reuben sandwiches with corned beef and pastrami, was supposed to come with coleslaw and pickle and wasn’t served with either. I asked the owner/manager who was also our server if he could please get the sides for us. He went back to kitchen, came back out and just stood near back. I asked him again where it was, and he told me they “were out”. I finally got up and asked him what was going on. He offered no apology and said they were just out of certain foods. The service here was absolutely terrible, food was some of the worst I’ve ever had (and I’m from NYC originally) and this manager was just absolutely intolerable. Offered nothing in lieu of the missing items, and took nothing off the bill. An awful attitude with zero remorse or gratitude for his customers. DO NOT EAT HERE, DO NOT GO HERE!
