Visited Mr. Purple and really enjoyed the experience. The rooftop has amazing views of the city and a cool outdoor space that includes a swimming pool, which adds to the whole vibe. The atmosphere feels lively without being overwhelming. I was also pleasantly surprised that the drinks weren’t super expensive, and they actually tasted great. Definitely a nice spot to hang out, relax, and take in the skyline. Would recommend visiting during the summer to enjoy outdoor space!
Mr. Purple is a very nice and spacious rooftop restaurant and bar. I love the fact that they have a pool which was nice. My friend and I enjoyed ourselves at an event we attended here. I would definitely come back again.
Good music, good vibes, good views I like to go here every Saturday with my friends, My favorite place and The bartender here David F he so nice, lovely and makes delicious drinks. He's also very friendly and easy to talk to.
Perched atop the Hotel Indigo on the Lower East Side, Mr. Purple stands as one of New York City’s most stylish rooftop bars and nightlife destinations. The design is sleek and industrial-chic, with reclaimed wood, metal finishes, and loft-inspired décor that perfectly complements its downtown edge. Guests are immediately drawn to the sweeping skyline views, which stretch from Midtown’s iconic towers to the bridges over the East River, making it a quintessential spot for sunset cocktails. The venue features both intimate terraces and a lively main space, including a poolside deck that elevates its exclusivity. Music is curated through dynamic DJ sets, striking a balance between lounge sophistication and high-energy rhythms as the night progresses. Cocktails are crafted with precision, with signatures such as the bottled Moscow Mule and the tequila-based Mr. Purple being consistent favorites.
Went here for their new brunch experience last weekend and had a great time. Fun rooftop party vibes and a classic brunch menu Absolutely must get the Bagel with Lox featuring that beautiful tompkins square bagel and locally sourced smoked salmon. They have all the brunch cocktails or check out their perfect espresso martini. Great for a date or group brunch
I had the absolute best experience at Mr. Purple the other night! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was perfect. What really made my night, though, was the incredible service. My server, Elma, was beyond amazing. She knew the menu inside out and gave spot-on recommendations for drinks. Between the great vibes, top-tier drinks, and exceptional service, it will become my new go-to spot. If you go (and you should!), definitely ask for Elma, you’ll be in great hands!
I’ve been coming to Mr. Purple for months, and honestly, the place wouldn’t feel the same without Ricky. She’s not just an incredible bartender, she’s the reason the night hits differently. Ricky has this rare way of making you feel instantly welcome, remembered, and taken care of. Your drink is always perfect, the service never feels forced, and the energy she brings behind the bar is unmatched. You can tell she genuinely cares, and that kind of service is rare. The views are stunning, the vibe is iconic, but Ricky is the magic. She turns a great night into an unforgettable one. Once you’ve been served by her, you get it.Thank you Mr. Purple for having someone like Ricky behind the bar. She is truly one of a kind and the reason this place feels so special. Her energy, care, and attention to detail make every visit memorable. Places are made great by people like her, and you’re lucky to have her.
Came here on a weekday while visiting NYC was a bit quiet but Elma was my server and made my experience so amazing. Not only was she super personable but recommended some amazing drinks, she even invited me back for the summer when the rooftop is open. I ended up staying longer than expected ! Will definitely be back and bring some friends. Views were beautiful as well.
I had an amazing experience dining here thanks to yogi! From the moment we were seated, he made us feel welcome and taken care of. His attentiveness, warm personality, and knowledge of the menu really stood out. Every recommendation he gave was spot-on, and he managed to balance professionalism with a genuine friendliness that made the evening even more enjoyable. Service like hers elevates the whole dining experience. You can tell he truly cares about his guests and takes pride in what he does. I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending this place to friends thanks to the outstanding service he provided!
ricky created an amazing experience for us when we visited this spot! it’s a gorgeous rooftop bar with comfortable seating, great views, good vibes, and stellar service (thanks to ricky). she made me the best lychee martini i’ve ever had and was happy to chat with us when we were at the bar. watching her work was amazing: i could see there were some regulars that had come back because she greeted them all by name, and she made new guests feel welcome. she was friendly, efficient, creative, and just simply knew what she was doing. it was a pleasure to visit with ricky and i’ll definitely be back whenever i’m back in town, hopefully on a night she’s working!
Very nice rooftop bar with sweeping views of the city. They have a great selection of beer, well drinks, and cocktails. Wonderful staff. I had such a fantastic experience with Ricky. From the moment I sat down, she made me feel welcome and taken care of. Her drink recommendations were spot‑on, the cocktails she made were awesome (make sure you try the lychee tini), and you could tell she's a pro. What stood out most was her personality — friendly, attentive, and effortlessly professional. Even when the bar got busy, she never missed a beat and made sure I was having a great time. It’s rare to find someone who can mix great drinks and create such a comfortable, enjoyable atmosphere. If you’re visiting Mr. Purple, do yourself a favor and grab a seat at the bar. Ricky is a true gem and made the night unforgettable.
Mr. Purple is such a vibe. The views are incredible, the drinks are beautifully made, and the whole atmosphere feels like the perfect mix of stylish and chill. it just feels special without being stuffy. Huge shoutout to our server, Courtnee, who made the experience even better. She was attentive and genuinely fun — the kind of service that turns a great night into a memorable one. She had perfect recommendations and checked in just the right amount.
I was first introduced to Mr Purple by a friend visiting from LA but I didn’t accept the offer. I immediately regretted it when he sent photos of the view and shared his experience. Since then, I wanted to visit but didn’t want to go there alone.. Then my friends and I heard about the matinee disco party and we finally planned a night out there. Would you believe I ended up there alone because my friends went to another spot? I decided I was not leaving because the staff were very nice to me especially Ricky!!!!, and the drinks were amazing! They all ended up coming to Mr Purple that night… after they realized I was having more fun… and we’ve been there a second time since. If you ever feel like having a night out with friends.. or by yourself in a place where you are safe and welcomed with great service ..I highly recommend Mr Purple!! Ask for Ricky! She makes the best cocktails especially French 75!!
We had an absolutely amazing experience at Mr. Purple in New York. The rooftop views were unlike anything else, truly breathtaking. I also want to give a hugh shoutout to our wonderful server Courtnee. Thank you, Courtnee, for making our first visit so special and for recommending The Formula for our meal. The steak was cooked to perfection and literally melted in my mouth. Incredible food, outstanding service, and all delivered with a warm, genuine smile. I'm so happy we had such an unforgettable dining experience-thank you, Courtnee!
came in today for a drink with a girlfriend and we thoroughly enjoyed it! Wasn’t too busy or loud around 6pm. Drinks were good, and the views from the rooftop are beautiful! We enjoyed a special where you get a steak, fries and martini for $35 that our server Alma recommended and it was great. Will come again
What a hidden gem! Sami & Susu is charming, intimate, rustic place where one wants to come back again and again. You feel welcomed from the moment you step inside. Dim lighting ambiance is perfect for a romantic dinner or friends get-together. Lets talk about THE FOOD. Freshest ingredients, creative menu and unique flavors! Every dish was delicious and memorable. The dips (seemingly a common staple of many Mediterranean restaurants) were so tasty and flavorful! Tuna crudo with brown butter - must try. Sweetbread, beef cheeks, risotto - every dish was "This-is-my-favorite"😃 Chicken with tzatziki- juicy, tender, succulent, and perfectly seasoned with spices. Well curated wine list made the evening even more unforgettable. Cannot wait to be back to try other dishes. Oh, do yourself a favor don't skip the chocolate dessert:)
The hamachi crudo is one of the best dishes I’ve eaten in my life. I had to close my eyes to really savor it and focus on all of the beautiful elements. Divine. The chocolate mousse was also exceptional. Never would have thought to put a touch of olive oil on the top. Very, very good.
I had not eaten all day at a work event & this was the PERFECT, filling meal for me. Definitely need a reservation btw, this place is quite small but cozy! Although, I would say it’s Mediterranean inspired, but not necessarily Med food/wine. The orange wine was a great recommendation by my server. Pita was fresh and tasty, but too hot to the touch when it arrived at my table. I had to let it cool down a bit. It went great with the labneh which was fantastic! I do wish they had hummus on the menu though. Hanger steak with the beans was very flavorful and went great with the bed of beans (I’m glad they swapped the corn as I’m not a corn person). Meyer lemon panna cotta for dessert was sour as expected, with shavings of green apple. I would return for sure!
I've been here three times now and if I had unlimited $$ I'd come every week. This is such a special little hidden gem. The food and cocktails are unique and divine and the service is wonderful The atmosphere is soft, romantic, cozy and glowy. The tuna is the best I've ever had. The beets with cheese and the dips are just incredible. And, try the cocktails...another unique taste experience. You will love it here!
If you’re looking for a casual low lighting restaurant for a date with a friend or a couple, this is a beautiful intimate restaurant. There’s music in the background, but not too loud and there’s not a lot of people. There’s seven tables and a few bar seating with delicious plates. Some highlights are the dip trio, tuna, carpaccio, roasted chicken, and the steak. Our host/server, Gabriel was attentive and amazing.
This was very good. It’s a very intimate wine bar which isn’t big. The food and wine selection are next level though. The owner/our waiter recommended a fantastic Sangiovese and even gave us a sample of Hungarian orange wine (highly recommend that for rosé drinkers in the summer). We ordered labneh, matbucha, tomato + cucumber panzanella, the chicken and steak dishes. It was all very good. I have to say my favorite dishes were the panzanella and the matbucha. Apparently they said their steak dishes with corn is tending online…the dish was very good. I’d highly recommend this spot for date nights and lovers of wine. The wine and food pairings were terrific! Don’t forget to ask your server which wine they recommend 🙂
Sami & Susu is the kind of restaurant you hope to find and experience in any large city. It’s cozy with only about 20 seats packed in a common NYC railroad apt layout in LES. The low and warm lighting emphasizing the intimate atmosphere. Service was stellar - warm and friendly. We felt cared for even when we were served our dessert and told another reservation was waiting. 😁 The food was fantastic. The first to the last bite of the pita and the muhammara dip was dreamy. We both looked at each other in amazement. The red pepper dip was creamy and rich in flavor. I want a tub of it. The citrus salad was fresh and meaty. The lamb kebab was cooked and seasoned well. The sumac onion is Everything. The Meyer lemon panna cotta was so thick, smooth and bright. All of our dishes were perfectly balanced and each bite complex and complete. We didn’t get tired of any dish which happens all too often. I have already told everyone about it which now I regret. Getting reservations could get more difficult. I definitely will return to try the other and seasonal dishes.
Hold up! Not far from Katz’s Deli in NYC is this little gem. What started as a wine bar, has now expanded to food and you don’t want to miss it! For lunch, their stuffed pita sammiches are out of this world. The lamb kabob pita was so succulent loaded with flavors, I actually licked my fingers. And for those favoring an authentic schnitzel, it is amongst the best you will ever eat. For dinner, you will find fantastic middleastern inspired dishes and salads plus a great beer and wine selection. Tell Amir Isaac says hi. Tish was here.
Simply amazing. I stumbled on across this place and it was warm and inviting so I decided to step in. They were friendly and accommodating so I stayed for dinner and I’m glad I did. The food was authentic, simple, and delicious. The muhammara was fresh, sweet and savory, and perfect with the fresh pita bread. The fluke had a delicate caramelized sauce. The branzino was perfect for two and matched well with the leeks. I’ll be back.
I had a lovely dinner one night here sitting at the window watching people go by. Had a little dinner and a glass of wine. Inside was moody, candle-lit, and cozy. The service was just right: helpful, knowledgeable, and popped in here and there to check in and make sure the food was good. Standout dish was the muhammara and pita! You gotta try it. It was extraordinary and solid portion size for two people. It was rich with a good amount of walnut on top. The pita was baked so well. Cucumbers dish I really enjoyed and recommend. The flavors from the fresh cucumber with the richness of the anchovies and bursts of ricotta shavings was very well done. There should be a few more anchovies though! I only had like one or two small ones. Balance was a little off because of that. Mussels escabeche was light and refreshing.
It's a big bar with dancing space on the 15th floor. I was there to dance and see the rooftop, it was some free special that night. But that night it was raining so the rooftop was closed. I just saw vague skyline through the glass walls. Overall it was nice to dance, not crowded.
Mr. Purple was a lot of fun! The rooftop view of the city was immaculate, and they had a great selection of music as well. The drinks were solid, and I enjoyed the overall vibe of Mr. Purple as a whole. Would recommend!
The food was good! But I was not a fan of the drinks. The pornstar martini was more so a passionfruit mimosa, pure prosecco! It was so bubbly rather than smooth. Any good bar serves the prosecco on the side. Our waitress and all the staff were amazing though and the view is worth the $25 drinks. Great music as well. Just really bummed by the drink.
Excellent food from Sami & Susu. My friend and I ordered the Muhamara, chicken, and delicata squash. The waiter was helpful and friendly, and the ambiance was quite cozy. My only feedback is that is was quite cramped and we had people sitting next to us at the high-top table, but understandable given rent prices in New York.
After seeing so many food bloggers say this was their favorite place, we were excited to try it. We ordered the muhamara dip, tuna tartare and the steak with corn. Everything was good, but we were not blown away it was just okay. We were expecting Theodora good with a 4.7 rating and the reviews. The dip was my favorite if that tells you anything. The hangar steak was a bit chewy and lacked flavor though the corn was delicious. The bathroom soap was nearly empty and diluted with water. I think the biggest mismatch in expectations is that the food would be fine for a $30-$50 pp resto but at roughly $100 pp it was lacking.
Food 8/10 Interesting natural wines. I really enjoyed the lamb kebab and beef tongue. We also ordered the blood sausage and pita. Each dish was unique and consisted of complex flavors. The lamb kebab was paired with tahini and cilantro, and it was also very tender. The beef tongue was soft but also nicely textured. Really enjoyed this cute little Mediterranean spot in the East Village. Atmosphere 8/10 Super cute interior, and their entrance is easy to miss. Only a few spots available, so definitely come early. Warm ambiance and light wood details. Service 8/10 Very nice service.
This was our second visit to this property, both times at sunset, this time as hotel guests. The view is breathtaking, making it an ideal spot for sunset cocktails. However, regarding the food and cocktails, both are of low quality and do not meet our expectations. We had the worst Aperol Spritz we have had. Bartenders had no clue. Additionally, the bartender was arguing with a client over a card and tried to involve me in the discussion, which was very rude and inappropriate. We had one drink, enjoyed the fantastic view, and left. Many rooftop options, avoid this one.
Only good thing about this place is the bathroom attendant Ibrahim. Came in knowing it’s a club and drinks would be more expensive, but the tequila soda I paid over $20 for was extraordinarily weak. Having learned my lesson about ordering liquor from the place, I went back for a second round and asked if they had White Claw. Bartender hands me a Surfside (a little more than $11 for the can), and then PROCEEDS TO SIGN FOR ME, TIP FOR ME, AND TAKE THE HANDHELD AWAY before I can even touch it. This was an extremely quick movement, like he is very well practiced at signing and tipping for customers while they’re putting their cards away the moment they tap. I tipped 20% on my first round. I don’t know what the average tip at this business is or if a noticeable number of customers don’t tip, but frankly, that’s not my problem. You CANNOT sign and tip on a bill on a customer’s behalf. That is outrageously disrespectful, and probably illegal. Maybe he felt overwhelmed by his ~7 customers at his nightclub bar, but that does not excuse this. Truly appalling. I wonder how much money he steals from unknowing customers per month with this kind of behavior. Dude needs to be fired
