I approached Shades of Green Pub one afternoon to reserve some tables following a Film Premiere I was having at Regal Union Square. I was immediately met by JP, the owner who introduced himself and showed me the place including the Irving room. The Irving room in Shades of Green was the perfect fit for what I was looking for, a large spacious room with tables, TVs and good place people can gather. So I reserved a few tables with a going party count of 10 people at the time. As the weeks inched closer to the premiere, that number grew from 10, to 20 to 30 to 40 people attending the post premiere party. Communication between myself and JP was smooth, timely as he was totally accommodating the entire time and reassured me we would not have any issues. He was right! On the day of the event, the tables in the Irving room were reserved and ready. For the next 3+ hours, my guests had an absolutely fantastic time. We had our own server who took amazing care of everyone. He was kind, respectful, never showed frustration and was attentive to everyone’s needs in light of dealing with a very large crowd. Drinks from the bar came very quickly as did food from the kitchen which was delicious. JP followed up personally during the party to make sure everything was going smoothly and accommodating which it was. The film premiere after party at Shades of Green Pub on a busy college football Saturday afternoon was an absolute success thanks to Shades of Green and JP. Without a doubt I would book them for any future events I have in the area, highly recommend them to anyone as well as plan to stop in time to time for a beer and a burger. Thank you again to all staff and JP for making the day so special for everyone who came out. A+ and 10/10 all around.

Very cozy place with a nice vibe. Not sure if its always like this or if we lucked out on the day but it wasnt very loud inside and we were able to chat easily. All the drinks were great and reasonably priced.

Hosted an anniversary party for 50 people and everything was amazing. Planning everything with JP was easy and straightforward. The staff that worked were all amazing. They really made sure everyone was taken care of and worked hard to ensure everyone had what they needed. Everyone had a great time and enjoyed the food. This is definitely a good place to host an event.

JP and staff took great care of us when hosted my birthday party here! there were around 50 of us and service was amazing. the staff went above and beyond to make sure we were all taken care of. shades of green is truly a special place for everything from grabbing a drink after work to hosting an event. get down to shades asap!

Shades of Green has always been the happy hour spot for my coworkers and I. One day, one of them proposed that we have the holiday party at JP’s (the owner) establishment, and I’m so happy we did! The service was impeccable. The food was great (typical bar food) but REALLY fresh and fabulous. JP worked with us in the midst of the Covid-19 surge here in NYC. We had a lot of cancellations and an open bar package set up, but even with a smaller group then anticipated- Shades of Green opened their doors to us and allowed us to continue with our original open bar package. Our holiday party was fun and memorable thanks to this place. 10/10 highly recommend ❤️

Walked in here to kill some time as the line for The Hellp show at Irving Plaza was literally wrapping around the block. I'm not really a beer guy, but always get shy ordering a glass of wine at these types of places as people look at me like I have 3 heads. I try to blend in, I try to become the bat. I got a Kona Big Wave, as I've heard people order that before and it has a cool name. It was actually kinda bomb, I may be a Kona Big Wave kinda guy moving forward. Is that respectable? Or will people know I'm disguising as a wine guy? The bartender was the man, and informed us he loves when there are shows on Monday, as Shades of Green gets packed when it's normally slow. Average pub. Didn’t eat there but the drinks were fine and there was a lot of seating available

Nonexistent service. We sat for a good 20 minutes with only half of our party’s drinks and no one taking our order for anything.

It's a bad experience because the price is reasonably because the area but the bartender doesn't have the good actitud for a good service looks very mad and doesn't talk I don't care pay 11 dollars with tips for a beer but respect the customers, I understand bartenders can be stressful but give a little bit of respect. It's a tall guy in the bar and a course never back

The guy works here very rude. Went there for a meeting, just seated up on the table and he came 3 times pushing for drinks! Even though people are drinking on the table already, he kept saying, everyone has to buy drink to stay??? I don't drink! So.... This is crazy.... Be aware of going to this place. The whole place is empty. As you see in the photo!!! And place is not properly cleaned.
