Opinions de Stage Door Deli New York
Huge selection, good food, reasonable prices,, nice folks behind the counter. Cheeky warning signs posted to anyone who dares try and graffiti the bathroom. (It was pristine.) Only note is that each of the paninis comes on pita bread - that was a surprise to me. Other sandwiches have bread options.
For me its the best Deli in NY. Love your pastrami and the Columbian Coffee, the flavoured Coffee, the Iced Coffee. We came here every morning for breakfast and we loved it. Greetings to Ramon, Jose and John. M, R and F from Germany
Stage Door Delicatessen offered us a nice respite after a day of walking around the city and visiting the Ground Zero Memorial. I was very hungry and the menu had so many choices as well as grab-n-go items in the refrigerator cases. The pastrami on rye sandwich was delicious and satisfying. There was plenty of seating in an air conditioned environment. The staff were very friendly and cheerful, it felt like a neighborhood place with wonderful people taking care of visitors.
BEST SANDWICH OF MY LIFE! We both had the pastrami and corned beef sandwich and it was phenomenal! The sweet Italian man who I'm guessing was the owner, was jovial and welcoming. Prices were fair also. Desserts are delicious too! You won't be disappointed!
Delicious pastrami sandwich and great service coming from the owner Pete, will be back again for sure!
The pizza was absolutely delicious! The crust was thin and not sauce heavy. Perfect! They also have homemade desserts like cannolis and baklava that looked really good.
Food was great. We had the Cajun Chicken Wrap and the BEC on a bagel. Waffle fries were alright, although Chick FilA probably does them better. Service was lightning fast, and the employees were very polite and helpful. Granted, this was in the late afternoon. I'm not sure how they are in the morning. I'd definitely come back here again.
I’m not sure if this place is family owned, but it feels like it. You could tell that the guys who work behind the counter take pride in the restaurant. We went three days in a row for breakfast. Everything was amazing each time. On one trip we got toast instead of the fries that we ordered and that was resolved in minutes. You HAVE to try this place! The made to order items are customizable. If you want it, they probably have it.
Came here yesterday! Was very busy but we got seated quickly. We ordered a whole pizza with pepperoni, and a Stromboli. The pizza was great but the main reason I come is for the Strombolis!! They are very delicious and fills you up quickly as well! Couldn’t take a picture because it was too delicious to even take one!
Food was delicious, service was very friendly and welcoming. Amazing, hope to have time to go back
Best deli style sandwich I’ve had in a very long time. I got the no.3 (Pastrami, Corned Beef & Slaw) and was very impressed with the authenticity of the restaurant and the way they prepared the meal. Very efficient service, large selection and very high quality food. Come here for a sandwich when you’re in the area and you will not be disappointed!
Small restaurant but the food is delicious. I regret for my only 1/2 day in New York so I only tried 2 sandwiches. And I loved what I havd. The large size coffee I asked for 8 sugers...which was quite sweet...LOL. Hoping to try out more different sandwiches and food on my next visit but I pretty sure I will ask for 4-5 sugers on my next coffee. :-P
Super friendly staff. Service was very fast. Facility was spotless and the sandwiches were extraordinary. Highly recommend.
My husband and I ate here a few days ago and had a really nice experience. The wait was short and the staff was friendly and efficient. We got the prosciutto and cheese pizza and Sicilian with pepperoni. We loved them both but the prosciutto pizza was the clear winner with us both. We also got 2 humongous frosty glasses of Yeungling and split a towering slice of chocolate mousse pie. It was to die for!
1st Deli breakfast in NY, friendly and patient staff, plenty of delicious French toast, eggs and bacon. Wife had a lovely bowl of porridge with strawberrys and all at a reasonable price. Thanks Stage Door.
I admit finding consistent quality here. The kitchen uses fresh food and presents it beautifully. Every dish satisfies and the servers are consistently helpful. Workers here provide pleasant service in a great family atmosphere. The restaurant excels in all categories.
The community needed a restaurant like this. Their customer handling was impressive. The dishes satisfy alongside attentive waitstaff. The location provides comfort and ease. I think everyone should try this place.
Most things here are typical for a NY deli BUT THE BAKLAVA… omg absolutely divine. So flakey and buttery and fresh tasting ingredients. Best I’ve ever had. Cheese cake slices are not bad either, I liked the red velvet.
Great food. Welcoming staff. Cool place not too far from memorial and museum.
The food here delivers exactly what you hope for. The staff demonstrates kindness, warmth, hospitality, and proficiency. The food impresses along with the service and setting. Stage Door Delicatessen is perfectly excellent. This restaurant creates a memorable occasion.
An amazing little deli near the World Trade Center that has amazing food! We just happened to see it and sat down for breakfast, and we are so glad we did! They have a full menu and prices are incredibly reasonable. I understand why there is a constant stream of patrons. Don’t miss this is you are in NYC!
I can't imagine food tasting better than this. The entire staff is attentive to needs. Their food exceeded typical exceptional standards. The design elements appeal to those who notice such things. We anticipate many return visits.
On my visit to NY I wanted a pastrami sandwhich and this place did not disappoint. Great place! Highly recommend it! A big plus it looks very clean. Lots of places in NY are old and dingy, this place was very clean.
Let me tell you something… I ordered the breakfast catering for my employees, pancakes, eggs, sausage, bacon and home fries and my team loved it! Not only that, these were BY FAR the best pancakes I’ve ever had. Must try!!
Exceptionally clean and comfortable seating area. Quick service. I got the pastrami on rye - reasonable portion size. Mine came with two pickle halves and a bag of Utz chips. I got a Dr Browns Cream Soda and a cup of ice. The total bill (May 2024) was $18.50, which seems pretty reasonable considering the tourist area. I would definitely come back.
As Europeans, my wife and I learned what a real American breakfast is here. Everything was excellent without any complaints. We were there in the morning and it wasn't crowded, we were served very quickly.
I stayed at the Four Seasons just around the corner and this deli was so close. Quintessential New York with pizza, bagels, pasties, oatmeal - all so good. Nice and friendly people working there. So good the first time that I had to go back a second time!
Decent food, not insanely priced, affordable coffee, 24 hours, and there’s seating. Every time I’m working at World Trade Center I stop here. Love this place.
This place serves food that makes me want to tell everyone I know. Others accurately described what to expect. Their kitchen selects good products and serves generous amounts. Workers here handle special requests easily. I confidently recommend attention this thorough.
Ordered a turkey bacon egg & cheese. Perfect. I knew there had to be some place around here with a bacon egg n cheese for less than $10. They did not disappoint, and the staff was nice. A+ for me.
A hidden gem in the Financial District!! We stumbled in this Deli when looking for somewhere for some breakfast. A massive choice of different food, not just breakfast! We had pancakes, bagels and coffee. It was all very fresh and very good sized portions. I would definitely recommend if you're looking for a quick bite, in a nice relaxed environment with friendly people serving.
I used to work nearby. Every once in a while, I would get a bacon, egg and cheese on a toasted plain bagel with a coffee, light and sweet. It’s been YEARS now… But I still think about that sandwich about once a week.
Food was good. The bun on the chicken sandwich was a bit dry but the rest was good. The Ruben and the pastrami were warm and juicy. The cook did not understand much English but the main guy was really nice. We also had pizza, it was pretty good but came up to almost $12 for 2 slices. Not much of an atmosphere as it is a simple deli so that's why I rated a 3.
The food quality alone would bring me back again. The employees show exceptional warmth and remember my usual order. The restaurant maintains cleanliness and its owners show kindness, attention and integrity. The food satisfies and arrives quickly. I want to become a regular at Stage Door Delicatessen.
Wonderful spot! You'll notice the difference immediately. Personnel attend to needs, but can miss the mark. Everything shows professional standards. I want this place to succeed completely.
Went to see the trade center and it was super rainy. We were gonna go to BK to get a chopped cheese but the weather said otherwise. Stopped at this place and ended getting a chopped cheese. Was pretty good! Fries were crispy and right too. They have a lot of options. Stop in if you're in the area. From what I saw, you can't go wrong. They serve beer there as well!
This place is an absolute gem in Manhattan! We loved it so much that we ended up eating here twice a day during our entire stay. The food is fantastic — especially the “hot food” section, which tastes just like home cooking. I can’t recommend this place enough!
An iconic Deli in downtown NYC just steps away from One World Trade Center. I was nearby one morning and popped in for my go-to favorite: a bacon, egg, & cheese on and everything bagel, toasted and with ketchup. This bad boy was delicious. Loaded with eggs and a lot of bacon. Toasted just right. To my surprise this place was slammed but the service was quick. They have plenty of indoor seating too, which is rare for a deli in Manhattan. Highly recommend!
Had a roll with scrambled eggs, sausage and cheese - didn't care for the sausage they used, but the sandwich was good. Service was really good. Was a bit worried because everyone says that you need to know what you want because they'll yell at you. We found the staff very friendly and helpful in explaining what the process it. Highly recommend, great stop before you head to one world trade or 9/11 memorial.
As soon as we walked in, they directed us where to order and pay. I got a bagel with strawberry cream cheese (I think it was plain cream cheese with strawberry puree and it was delicious). I picked up a banana and juice too, and it was under $10. We ate in and it was very comfortable in there. Would highly recommend. We went around 8:30am on a Saturday and it wasn’t busy.
This deli is elite. Open 24 hours, and they’ve got the whole operation down to a science. I pulled up late, expecting a wait, but they had my sandwich ready fast as heck. The menu is stacked—so many options that it almost feels impossible to pick just one. I went with the corned beef pastrami loaded with coleslaw and Russian dressing, and wow, that combo hit hard. The bread was fresh, the meat was stacked just right, and that sauce pulled everything together. It was messy in the best way possible. You can tell they’ve been doing this for a while—everyone behind the counter moves with purpose. It’s that perfect mix of chaos and efficiency that only a real New York deli can pull off. Crushed it right before walking across the Brooklyn Bridge, and it hit the spot perfectly. If you’re ever in the area and need something quick, hearty, and legit good any time of day (or night), this is the move.
I recently dined at Stage Door Delicatessen and had a very good experience overall! Food: The sandwiches were outstanding—loaded with fresh ingredients and bursting with flavor. The matzo ball soup was also a highlight, perfect for a cozy meal. Service: The staff was friendly, but the wait for our food was a bit longer than expected. They were attentive in checking on us, which was appreciated. Atmosphere: The deli had a warm and inviting atmosphere, with a charming decor that made it feel like a homey spot to relax. Overall, I would highly recommend Stage Door Delicatessen for anyone craving delicious deli food. I look forward to coming back!
They serve some amazing food here! I got a chance to order from this establishment a few times, and their food really blew me away. Thank you so much for serving some delicious food! You guys made my tummy extremely happy. 😄
This place is fantastic. Menu is huge but has all the staples. Portions are generous and it’s delicious! Order at the counter and then pay at the cashier for faster service. Authentic NYC deli experience, highly recommend!
We were tired and hungry after a long day and needed a break so we stopped in this deli and it was so very yummy. The service was top tier. The man at the front is so friendly and we received our food super quick. 10/10 recommend!
Great atmosphere. I stopped in to take shelter from the rain, but once I saw the wide variety of food, I couldn’t resist trying a few things. One of them was the palmier (elephant ear) cookies — the best I’ve ever had! The staff was very friendly and helpful, which made the experience even better. I’ll definitely be coming back.
Absolutely Loved Stage Door Delicatessen! We were on a family trip, staying at a nearby hotel, and we ended up getting something from here every day. A couple of days we had breakfast, one night we had dinner, and at least one night we grabbed a late-night snack. The prices were great, and the portions were even better. The bagels and sandwiches were excellent. You could eat every meal here for two weeks and still not try everything on the menu. The staff was always friendly, helpful, and in a great mood. Next time we're in NYC, we'll definitely be stopping by again!
Ordered online for quick, convenient pickup. Everything was well packaged for transport and delicious when consumed. The lemonade is really out of this world, but everything was great. Our party had smoked salmon and cream cheese on an everything bagel, chopped cheese, and reuben. We'd do it all again.
Delicious fuss free breakfast place with plenty of variety of food for children and adults, and the friendliest cashiers! I got an everything bagel with egg and cheese and it was a great breakfast to start off the day before exploring new york city. Swing by and fill your bellies at this great breakfast spot!
Being my first visit, I was indecisive in what to try - the staff were extremely friendly and I went for the pastrami sandwich. Beautifully succulent with warm melted cheese and rye bread. Great vibe and banter between the staff - makes a difference when the chefs are happy. Fortunate to have found this little deli!
Very welcoming service I had Roast beef sandwich with lettuce tomato n cheese it came with a packet of crisp and pickle. My son had a Pastrami sandwich also came with crisp and pickle Drinks you order separately There is seating available and restroom downstairs. We both enjoyed our food, my son said his Pastrami was very tasty 😋
Stopped in for some pizza and a brew. I also got the spinach roll. The food was good and the beer was cold so there were no complaints there. Then I went downstairs and treated myself to a canoli. The shell was crispy with a very good cream filling. All of the employees were very friendly and I received excellent service. Would definitely come again!
This place has been here for a very long time. The food is consistently delicious! For the area the prices really aren't bad at all. I have eaten here a bunch of times over the last decade and the sandwiches are some of the best I've ever had. The staff is always friendly and respectful. The coffee is pretty good too, I find it much better than some of the small coffee spots in the area. Wanted to give a small update. Tried the pancakes today and easily one of the best I have ever had! The consistency and quality of this place is so good!
Really nice staff. Good variety of options. I got Pancakes with Nutella and strawberries which came to £13.09 which would be a similar price to uk for a more expensive breakfast. It did taste good and it was a fairly big portion. The apple juice was also nice and cold. You could have French toast instead of pancakes if you wanted to.
When traveling I usually rely on reviews like here on Google to help me pick where to eat. I found this little gem in New York while visiting the World Trade Center memorial. The reviews were good so we had to try it out for ourselves. The pizzeria is at the top of the building so be ready to climbs some stairs, no elevator sorry. We decided to try some New York pizza. I would have to say this is one of the best pizzas I've had in New York by far. There are lots to choose from it was hard for us to decide. Since my wife and I could not decide on one they allowed us to do a half-and-half option. My wife wanted the Hawaiian pizza which came with thick pieces of ham and lots of pineapple it was so good. My pizza came with lots of veggies and it was outstanding. One more thing I had to try was the New York cheesecake. You definitely cannot leave without trying a piece of one of their freshly baked pastries. Everything looks so good and fresh I didn't know what to get. We sat down to eat but if you're on the go they do have fresh pizzas hot and ready for you to grab a slice. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The place was clean and accommodating. I like the fact that they have big windows so you can see the view. I enjoyed it so much I had to introduce myself to the owner owner and tell him he was going to receive a 5 star rating from me. Make plans if you are in the area, you can't miss out on this place. Also the name says deli and on the bottom of the building is a fine deli which we did not get to try out but I hear is also very good. I guess we will have to leave that 1 for the next visit.

Fabulous breakfast, wonderful staff & outstanding service. So pleased to have read other recommendations otherwise might not have made the effort to go. Highly recommend breakfast here!

Good place for quick meal or take out.Friendly & prompt service.Extensive menu options fot bf,lunch or dinner.
Lower Manhattan fixture for decades, located just North of the World Trade Center. Reasonably priced breakfast and deli sandwiches and lunch options. Old school NYC eatery that isn't a chain downtown that is a rare find these days.
If you are thinking about going to a diner in lower Manhattan, don’t think twice about going this one! The customer service is impeccable, from answering the phone when I checked to see if they were opened to when I arrived, From the Cooks, to the cashier and all the way to the owner Nick! These hard working New Yorkers have been here all night and still have an amazing attitude at 5am lol Recommend the freshly squeezed orange juice and the waffle fries. I really enjoy their grill chicken sandwich as well ❤️🍽 Keep up the great work guys! Sol
Food was OK, Choosing what you'd like is quite difficult as the menu is huge! Tea was good. Ate in and got annoyed at a fella who was watching something on his phone with the volume mad high, not the restaurants fault but it was kinda annoying though.
The Stage Deli is a good place to grab a quick bite. Their prices are high, the service is so so, and it can be noisy at times. If you are looking for a fast bite or a cold drink, this place will hit the spot. If you are looking for more, it will miss the mark.
Stage Dior Delicatessen they have upstairs only for pizzeria. Upstairs have only pizza & pastry with soda. Employe are nice & well professional behave. Pizza have good tests. Price ok. Only Tips written by hand writing board. Clean bathroom. I recommend to go there. my family enjoy food.
really fast service and hot sandwich within minutes! Avocado is yummy and creamy and the rolls are just ok tbh and bagels too. Theyre $8+ sandwiches but you’re paying for 3 minutes out the door ready ding 🛎 ding on ur way! coffee was mid they have espresso machine but not freshly pressed since they’re really quick service style. Friendly friendly staffs and big space inside. Heavy door, fresh orange juice and seating towards the back. Pastries and cake display for sale too. Bananas and apples.

Food was spot on and really fast. staff were helpful and patient. (Us being tourists). We stayed at the Millineum across the street. So convenient, also open very early. You can't go wrong.

Just priced themselves out of business. What they characterized as a price increase was a gouge. Special #3 goes from $13.50 to $19:00....crazy. Last time.
This was my first time here. I ordered the pastrami sandwich. It wasn't life changing, but it hit the spot! I'd recommend this place if you're in the area and need a place to sit and grab a bite.
The preparation of the food is always amazing! Reasonable prices! The deliveries are always on time. Joh has always been courteous and entertaining.

Five dollars for a cold slice of pizza? Don’t get me wrong. I love cold pizza, but did I buy cold pizza? no. They didn’t bother to heat it up

Service was very friendly. Food was good but not anything spectacular. It was affordable and acceptable. Coming from Connecticut the pizza was a little disappointing. The atmosphere was very neat with windows looking over St Paul's church. The deli downstairs looked really good and I am interested in trying the deli downstairs
Stopped in for a quick lunch of sandwich and a coffee. I got my food to go, but there is a small dining area if you would rather eat in. My food was prepared and brought to me quickly. The folks making food behind the counter were very friendly, however the cashier service was mid. My sandwich was flavorful and very filling. I found the prices to be pretty affordable compared to other spots in the area.

Tldr; decent price and convenient location, but food is mid and service is even more mid. - no instructions for where to order. It was empty and we asked and they didn't answer us, but instead shooed us over to other workers who didn't speak English? - eventually someone helped us, spoke English and took our order and payment - the menu is chaotic, the colours and pictures make it hard to read - only one pickle ): - got the pastrami sandwich, their mustard was very sweet and didn't taste good. The sandwich was warm and soft. The pastrami tender but just okay - the atmosphere is very sterile and kinda sucks, there was no one there and everything kinda hurt to look at - probably won't ever go back nor would I recommend it unless you're starving and around

I asked for all cheese to be placed on the side, they didn't do it. They didn't label the sandwiches. I requested the food to be delivered to my job at 11:30AM, The food arrived early and I was unable to pick it up from my work place lobby. Never again! I will order from Katz Deli or the Second Avenue Deli.
1 star review. Food was decent and there was a good choice. However when the bill was $47 something and you give them $60 they only handed back $2 change. Didn’t initially notice until half way through the meal. They weren’t busy and both staff couldn’t look at us when leaving. They knew what they had done. They would probably have got a $10 tip anyway but to take it without asking isn’t right or fair.
