The atmosphere is the first thing you will notice about this place. The downstairs and upstairs are both beautiful. Service is absolutely fantastic, friendly and polite as soon as you walk in. We had a reservation but they were not busy and we could have gotten a table right away regardless. The cocktail were masterfully crafter and delicious. The service again was so fast and polite. Everything together made for an absolutely perfect dinner.
Great across the board. Left in a wheelbarrow I was so full. Only thing I didnt love was some of the ceviche was a bit fishy. Everything else was great. Highlights were the bone marrow octopus and short rib.
This modern Mexican spot in Turtle Bay is a hidden gem in the city. Walking into the restaurant, the stunning decor transports you to Tulum and the vibe here is perfect for a nice group dinner or a date night. Service here is fairly quick and timed perfectly as you enjoy each of your courses. For appetizers, we got their guacamole and tuna tartare which came with these thin chips that I absolutely loved, and sauces that paired so well with each dish. We also got their quesobirria, which was absolutely phenomenal and I could've ordered another one with how delicious it was. And, we got their short rib for our main to share with elote on the side, and I'm so happy I got it. The short rib was so tender, soft, and flavorful. And, the corn paired so well with the dish. Wish I had room for dessert to try more of their menu, but I left very content with everything we got. Highly recommend you to check this spot out!
Tán NYC is absolutely magical. From the moment you walk in, you’re surrounded by the most beautiful tropical greenery and golden lighting that makes you feel like you’ve escaped the city and landed in Tulum. Every dish was perfection vibrant, flavorful, and plated like art. The short rib melted in my mouth, the corn appetizer was unreal, and the cocktails were crafted with so much detail. The staff was warm, the vibe was classy yet chill, and everything felt effortlessly luxurious. Definitely one of my new favorite restaurants in New York City. 🌴🍸✨
We had a good experience at Tán yesterday for our anniversary. The atmosphere was amazing and the food was delicious. They provided two glasses of champagne for free since we said it was our anniversary when we made the reservation. They treated every detail with heart and made us feel welcomed and happy.
I had an amazing dinner at tán in Midtown! The restaurant has such a modern and welcoming atmosphere that makes dining here feel special. The coastal Mexican flavors were vibrant and delicious, and every dish was beautifully prepared with so much attention to detail. The seafood was especially fresh and stood out for its bold and creative flavors. Service was excellent—friendly, attentive, and made the whole evening smooth and enjoyable. It’s a great spot for a nice night out, and I’d definitely come back to try even more from the menu.
Just WOW !!! I’m not really a person who leaves review but this one had to be said. Our server Javier was detailed & explained all of our dish, he made us girls feel comfortable & gave us a Luxurious service. The ambiance felt like Tulum the food was amazing if you like spicy food, tacos this is your spot ✨ very aesthetic place to take pictures.
TL;DR - lovely ambience (date nights or group dinners); delicious food, and fantastic desserts Was not quite sure what I was walking into since the reservation made by the company’s office manager. And because the menu did not have a lot of vegetarian options, I was skeptical about the place at first. However, upon arriving, one glance at the ambience of the bar (ground level) and the dining space (first floor), and you feel relaxed; Elegant but cozy! Great selection of drinks (which I will certainly try during my next visit). The chips in the apps tasted fresh and not the kind that you get from local grocery stores (probably due to the house blend seasoning) The food ordered was varietal; salad, steaks, veggie enchiladas…and all plates were wiped clean! And lastly, the desserts! Incredible! Would go there just for those (and you should too!). We couldn’t decide so we ordered all 5 and there were no leftovers.
I had the pleasure of visiting TAN in New York City, and it was truly a wonderful experience. What made it even more special was the opportunity to meet Bianca from TAN’s Corporate Team, who was visiting from Denver. Her warmth and professionalism reflected the spirit of the brand perfectly. TAN itself is an absolute gem—elegant yet welcoming, with a stunning ambiance that blends modern aesthetics with cozy charm. The interiors are thoughtfully designed, the lighting is perfect for an evening out, and the overall vibe is just right whether you're there for a casual dinner or something more special. The food and drinks were exceptional—each dish beautifully presented and packed with flavor. The staff was attentive and courteous, adding to the overall experience. If you're ever in New York and looking for a place that delivers both style and substance, TAN should be at the top of your list. Grateful for the lovely evening, the delicious food, and the inspiring conversation with Bianca.
Oh my Gosh, this place!!! Love the ambiance on the first floor. If you want a romantic date, that's the place with amazing drinks and food with excellent service! Ceviche was super fresh along with guacamole. Ask for their side salsa selection ( it's the best). Short ribs was my favorite! Beautiful place with nice lounge music and cozy decor. Book table in advance!
This restaurant was superb! I cannot wait to go back. Service was great, the food was drool worthy, and the cocktails were wonderful. We were dining for dinner as soon as they opened. They were welcoming even though arrived a few minutes ahead of the official 5 pm dinner service. The ambiance transports you to the coast of Mexico. The apps and entrée was incredible. We had margaritas and more. Freddie behind the bar understood the assignment. We had a few drinks each from him and he is skilled. They have so many mezcals and tequilas to choose from. I saw some options that are not common in most places. The guacamole and salsas were surprisingly good overall. One salsa was not our favorite, that was the verde. It might appeal to others though. Do no look for tortilla chips here, not the traditionally kind anyway. They have a toasted tortilla they give you to break apart to partake in the guac or salsa. It works. Lobster tacos are small yet delightful. I will probably pass on those next time. The Branzino was prepared with two sauces by default. Yes, and yes. Just get it. We love it. Hopefully the kitchen is consistent, and based on other feedback I've read, it is. The main dining area is upstairs, the bar is on the first level steps beyond the entrance. Both have their own look and feel. The bar and lounge area is cozy and chill. Happy Hour is only available there from 5pm-7pm. The main dining area is bright and airy. The staff provide some of the best customer service, even by NYC standards. Just go.
Loved this place so much! The drinks were exceptional and wine paired beautifully with the food. The meal was a sheer delight, everything was delicious. Highly recommend the Bone Marrow and Ceviche dishes. It was such a great atmosphere in the restaurant and the service was phenomenal as well, people checking in on how we were enjoying ourselves. If you’re GF, I suggest you check the menu in advance, as there are options but some items you might expect to be GF are not, due to seasoning or marinade. There are definitely options though!
We had a birthday reservation last Saturday and the entire experience was exceptional. I am still talking about it and can't wait to visit again! The food was deliciously out of this world. I would give it a ten-star rating! Simply wow. The service was amazing, the staff very friendly, and the atmosphere dazzling. We felt like we were in a Tulum resort.
Today we were in Tan and I have to say that everything was wonderful, the food was great and the service was more than incredible. Juan served us, super recommended, if you goes ask for him and you will have the best attention. The rest of the team is super friendly. It was our anniversary today and they gave us a surprise dessert. Perfect.... We'll be back very soon❤️
The concept is interesting, but some aspects don’t quite work. The AC in the back blows very cold, while the front area, bar, and parts of the second floor feel uncomfortably hot. The space is filled with plastic plants, which makes the atmosphere feel not authentic. The second floor is much better—more open, less claustrophobic, and overall more pleasant. Food was good, and the service was attentive. No reservations available throughout Google Maps.
We came here for a 70th birthday party. I came on a Sunday so there was street parking available. There is a parking garage across the street on 49th. The restaurant is beautiful with lots of great decor. Downstairs is dark with tables and a bar. Upstairs has a large open room with a nice bar. There’s a small outdoor area with a few tables which is where we sat. It looks like there is heat lamps above for the colder months. They offer a brunch menu. I’m not sure if it’s all weekend or just Sunday. The staff were all great from the minute we worked in. The food was really good. The only reason I gave them a 4 star rating is because they ran out of a few items like regular Coke and coffee. Not sure how that happens but it is what it is. The presentation of all the food looked great. The guacamole with the corn tlayudas were amazing. It was a nice starter. I had chicken enchiladas which were great. Lots of flavor and honestly just looked delicious. I tried some of the Quasabirria which was also very good. The shredded beef had lots of flavor. They give you a few sauces to complement it. We had Concha con Nata for dessert. It’s brioche pan dulce, whipped cream and fresh berries. It comes out warm which makes the berries taste sweeter and syrupy. Overall a good experience and would come back.
This was our first time dining here to celebrate my friend's birthday. Right away, we were impressed by the beautiful greenery and the thoughtful details throughout the decor. For dinner, we ordered the guacamole, ceviche Amarillo, shrimp and crab enchiladas, and a few non-alcoholic beverages. The guacamole was so flavorful, and we loved the presentation. However, the ceviche Amarillo could have used a bit more seasoning. A pinch of salt or a squeeze of lime would have really brought the flavors together. Our first round of shrimp and crab enchiladas came out surprisingly cold, almost like they had been sitting out for a bit. We let the staff know, and they quickly fixed both of our dishes. When served hot (as they should’ve been) the enchiladas tasted so much better! Toward the end of our meal, they surprised my friend with a tres leches birthday dessert, which was such a sweet and thoughtful touch. Just a heads up, the portions lean more toward a tapas-style size. All in all, we had a great time and looking forward into returning.
The menu is unbalanced, some items are big portions, others are too small. It’s creative and appreciated to have delicious tlayudas instead of tortilla chips. Drinks are honestly weak on the alcohol, not worth the price. I liked the concept of the enchiladas, but sadly shrimps are not perfectly cooked, the texture and flavor (lack the sweetness of fresh shrimp) reveals they’re frozen. The tortilla soup is not hitting the spot, the broth is lacking depth and aroma, the tortilla strips are too thin and too long. The Oaxaca chocolate cake is a highlight and the staff are simply wonderful, kind, and attentive
