Next door to the hotel we were staying at with many options for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, we only went for breakfasts. Quick friendly service, tasty food and good prices, certainly half of what the hotel next door would charge. Really enjoyed eating here.
This place was amazing. My food was out very quickly and the service was phenomenal. The atmosphere was also New Yorkish.
A typical New York diner by all appearances but the food was genuinely excellent. I had one of their burgers which was perfectly prepared, and their fries were truly spectacular. The fries tasted a bit like a great NY pretzel, and I thoroughly enjoyed them. The staff was lovely and kind, the meal came out exceptionally fast, and everything was fresh and delicious. Couldn't more highly recommend a stop in here.
Was in search of good food and an authentic American Diner and got exactly that, the food was amazing and very quick.
Absolutely do not go to a chain fast food restaurant in NYC, that kind of franchised, soul-less food you can get anywhere on the planet now. Make the most of where you are and have yourself a proper American breakfast. This is where families, business types and construction workers get breakfast. Not the cheapest, but then you don't go to New York every day. Authentic and great food. Yes the eggs are cooked to perfection. Highly recommend.
Best breakfast, friendly service, good Colombian coffee!!! Loved it!!! Saludos paisanos, René
Awesome little spot in Midtown. Great service and yummy food. Breakfast all day!
The food was delicious and staff were very attentive and friendly
Plenty of Breakfast options. Food Quality is excellent. Service, top notch. Courteous and efficient staff. Considering the fact that it is a part of New York City , the prices of various dishes are quite reasonable. All in all, an excellent experience and a very good value for money
I had a breakfast here and what the experience it's been! The place was packed, in a good sense - we were surrounded by people rather than sitting in the empty room. Waiters were doing magic given the number of clients - very attentive, nothing was forgotten from the order, everything came on time, fresh coffee poured when needed. The food was fresh and tasty. I will definitely have breakfasts here next time I'm in NY!
We had a wonderful Christmas eve lunch at the New York Luncheonette. The staff was so welcoming and kind, especially our server, Olga. The food quality and options were top notch.
Went for breakfast after the great reviews here and in TripAdvisor and I was not disappointed!! The place was almost full at 9 am on a cold winter Thursday . The food was delicious and the service super friendly and efficient.
Amazing breakfast spot! The sausages, scrambled eggs, and pancakes are delicious — cooked to perfection. What really makes this place shine are the people: super friendly servers and talented grill cooks who create a joyful, welcoming vibe. Great food, even better atmosphere!
We stayed 7 days in New York and found this on our second day. We went back every day for breakfast. Staff was very friendly beside the hot weather and the busy times. The food was fresh and very delicious. Price was good for New York too. We be definitely coming back once back in New York in the next year and recommend everyone we know to go there. Thank you guys for a fantastic service
This place represents the gold standard for its type. The meals show attention to appearance and flavor. The plates told the story - the food was excellent. The staff was incredibly welcoming, and were eager to address all inquiries. They make the dining experience seamless.
Great restaurant, easy to get in, we went twice and had two large parties and they didn’t question it, all the food was perfect, the Rueben was just one thing and it was amazing, service was really nice and very reasonably priced
Stopped by after a parade today. Had the most delicious tuna sandwich on soft white bread with lettuce and crisp bacon I've ever had, with perfectly cooked fries and a great fountain soda Coke. Diner perfection! Staff was very friendly and attentive. Clean, quiet atmosphere. Looking forward to going back to try their breakfast. Really enjoyed the experience.
We love this restaurant! We stay at the Lexington Hotel which is a couple of blocks away when we visit NYC. We have breakfast there daily on our visit. The food and service is excellent!
We had a great breakfast at a reasonable price, our coffee cups were never empty. Staff and clientele were also nicer than the typical New York experience.
Great place for breakfast. Everything was delicious, great cheese omelet and hash browns. My first time but will be back!
A fantastic American diner. The food is good quality and reasonably priced. There can sometimes be a line out the front on busy days but it moves fast. We came twice while we were in town. Shout out to the owner Chris for making us feel welcome. He genuinely showed that he wanted to provide a good dining experience.
I recently visited New York Luncheonette and had a great experience! Food: The breakfast options were delightful, with generous portions and fresh ingredients. I particularly enjoyed the pancakes, which were fluffy and delicious. The only downside was that a few items could benefit from a bit more seasoning. Service: The staff was friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. Our server checked in on us regularly, which added to the overall positive experience. Atmosphere: The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, perfect for a casual meal. The vintage decor gives it a charming vibe that adds to the fun of dining there. Overall, I highly recommend New York Luncheonette for a tasty and relaxed breakfast. I look forward to visiting again!
I often find myself wanting to back to my childhood and enjoy a typical New York diner. This place is wonderful it has a very homey atmosphere. The classic American diner vibe. Portions are generous. It reminds you of a better time in america. 🇺🇸
Great food.Great Service. Great price. Couldn't ask for more. Good dinner experience. Service was fast and attentive but not rushed. People came, ate and left so there was never a long wait, if ever. We enjoyed it so much the first time we went back again!
Out of state-ers (Tx). This was just down the way from our hotel. The establishment is quaint and cozy, a very nice break from the rush and hubub ourside. The food was fresh and delicious, very obviously made with profession and love. So glad we stopped in!
This place is a treasure. Fast, friendly, efficient, and exactly what you expect from a breakfast spot. I brought my family here on a whim because it was across from our hotel. It was bustling but the line moved fast. The staff is like a well oiled machine, getting you your food quickly and moving people in and out as a team without rushing the process. I came back when I was in town on business by myself and sat the bar. Was amazed to see how they handled traffic up close, how quickly they turned around my requests, and how much the crew was clearly enjoying each other. They’re not reinventing the wheel here, but honestly this fast, friendly, no BS breakfast is exactly what you would expect from a midtown diner. Shout out to the grill guys who were absolutely crushing it. Recommended!
A brilliant little place which we found by accident. Proper diner food and great service. We arrived at around 8:45am and it was quite busy. We were seated immediately though. There were several groups of people all enjoying breakfast but the noise levels were not intrusive like we found in other places. Service was quick and efficient. Nothing was too much trouble. Kept the coffee topped up too 😁 Would highly recommend for proper food in a local atmosphere.
Like all crazy jet-lagged Europeans we got there at 7 am. Very cozy, friendly place. Vast choices, portions bigger than one would expect. One from Europe I guess. My omelette was Western with extra cheddar cheese. My son had California wrap, which was probably the best choice. Very tasty. Good pancakes with maple syrop too. Oh! house cofe is very good. Enjoy once you’re nearby.
Ate here twice over the weekend and food and service was pretty good. French toast was okay, pancakes were really good, and the sole fried fish sandwich was really good. Was not a fan of the bacon, They made it crispy as I requested but it tasted burnt. I overall, I definitely will come back next time I'm in New York. Better than the hotel breakfast next door
Classic bustling diner. Excellent service and friendly staff working very hard to keep orders on track. Fantastic freshly made pancakes and omelettes. I will return!
It is a nice place for brunch, lunch or dinner. It was so cold outside so I asked for the chicken noddle soup and was pretty good and tasty. The Wrap was also good and a good portion. The customer service was nice and kind, they speak English and Spanish and you need the vaccination card to get a table. I really enjoyed it!
The breakfast was pretty good. I got the two egg plate with a muffin instead of toast. They toasted the muffin, and it was pretty good. The "home fries" weren't good, so I didn't eat them, which was ok with me. The eggs were ok. The coffee was ok. The service was good and very fast. This was my first trip to NY, so I don't have anything in the area to compare to. It was close to our hotel. If I were close again, I would go back for breakfast again, so I do recommend it.
My buddy and I were strolling around looking for a reasonable restaurant to sit down in that wasn’t named Starbucks. We found it. Service was perfect. Never felt rushed but never felt ignored. Prices were what you expect for two breakfast plates, even though I have to imagine their rent in midtown must be sky high. The people working in the restaurant were very nice. A man even came outside looking for me because I forgot 45 cents on the counter. All told a VERY enjoyable experience. A place to sit and talk and take your time. In midtown. During the lunch rush. 👍
Good burger and great fries. Reuben wasn't so great (personal opinion - others may love it). Ice cream was so good we thought it might have been made there.
Service here is outstanding. Fernando was on top of our every need.
New York Luncheonette has that classic New York diner vibe that’s getting harder to find. It’s been around for decades, and you can feel that local history when you walk in. We stopped in for brunch and the food was straightforward and satisfying. The bacon came out perfectly crispy just like we asked, the portions were generous, and everything was exactly what you’d expect from a traditional diner breakfast. Nothing overly fancy, but just solid brunch food done well. The crowd felt like a mix of tourists and locals, which makes sense for a place that’s been part of the neighborhood for over 30 years. It’s also a great spot if you want a quick sit-down meal without committing to a long brunch experience. When there’s no line, you can easily get in and out in under an hour. If you’re looking for a classic New York breakfast spot with history and dependable diner food, this is a great option.
This is a bustling, downtown Manhattan diner with old world charm, a fast paced environment and efficient service. I went a little off book with my order and they were happy to oblige even during a busy lunch service. A convenient, go-to spot with lots of variety, if you’re looking to grab a quick bite to eat.
We visited this restaurant and had a really good meal — the food was great. The place was nice and quiet, which made for a relaxing experience. Service was good, friendly and attentive. Everything was clean, which added to the comfort. Definitely somewhere to keep in mind if you want a quiet, solid meal.
Old-school New York City diner in Midtown. After 36 hr fasting for a medical procedure, I needed someplace nearby for a good breakfast and this fit the bill. The omelette wasn’t the best I’ve ever had but since I was starving, it tasted delicious, home fries were good and the bagel with cream cheese cheese was tasty. Typical New York City diner style service from a hard-working crew looking to do their best. I will say that an ordinary egg breakfast for two coming out to $50+ (including tip) was a little bit eye popping but this is the heart of Midtown Manhattan so it is what it is. Can’t say that I would definitely recommend it unless you are at a hotel in the area and you need something convenient.
We came here for brunch today, and the food was great! We ordered the pancake lumberjack with bacon, french toast lumberjack with bacon, country omelette, and Mediterranean omelette. The pancakes were fluffy, and the omelettes and french toast were both good. The portions were large, and the service was quick and attentive.
This place had high score at several sites, and it was near our hotel so we tried it. This place is hectic, where the waiters are running all around you, bringing food to the tables and clearing the dirty dishes after. I had a pancakes which were quite nice. My friend took o e egg with potatoes and toast, but he wasn't that happy about it. And they were even wrong with his check. Overall, place has good atmosphere but food can get better.
A bit disappointed after all the hype. We had pancakes and the tuna melt. Pancakes were fine but nothing special. Tuna melt was cold in the middle, actual tuna salad was dry. Fries were kinda cold as well. Service was wonderful. Really wanted to line this place more. They were given awards for helping during 9/11 and President Obama went there etc. but it was just okay. I'll try it again and order something different just to see if i can have a better opinion.
We came here based on a recommendation, and honestly, we expected a bit more. While the food had good flavor, the overall quality felt overpriced for the portion sizes. The water tasted strongly of chlorine, there was no Wi-Fi available, and the furniture looked old and somewhat worn. On the positive side, the staff was always attentive and friendly.
Server was ok, but brought the wrong kind of eggs. (Was friendly replacing them). Two sandwiches were very below average. We barely ate them. Fries were good. Would not recommend.
Please dont be fooled by the 4.5 rating. The food is mediocre at best. Coffee is way overpriced. Pancakes were ok. If you want eggs and bacon dont go here. Get an egg sandwich at the corner vendor. Will never come back here
Very meh breakfast. Small portions, NYC prices. Should have gone to Madison Restaurant a few blocks over instead where prices are also high, but you get a little more for it. Came here on Sunday morning and barely got a seat at 930am. Would have expected better, but I think its just closer to tourist hotel rooms, so they come by proximity. We ended up getting a Pancakes with a side of Bacon strips and a California Omelette that had Avocado and Bacon. The omelette was served with their form of hash browns and inedible toast. The pancakes were actually decent, but those are pretty hard to screw up. Props to their individually packaged butter not being frozen. However, the omelette was overcooked, the toast was a brick, and the hash browns under-seasoned. Sadly, service was excellent, but that's not enough to bring me back.
Came here for lunch with a friend yesterday. We were greeted quickly and our waiter was very friendly and attentive, which was the highlight of the visit. Unfortunately, the restaurant had an unpleasant smell when we walked in. The fries were great, but the sandwich I ordered was very bland and lacked flavor, especially for the price. The fountain drinks also upset our stomachs later. Both my friend and I ended up feeling sick afterward and I even threw up later, so something didn’t sit right with us. I ended up having stomach cramps the rest of the day as well — possibly from the deli meat. It’s unfortunate because the service was really great, but the food quality and overall experience were disappointing.
Came in for breakfast. Ordered oatmeal with blueberries and a side of ham. The oatmeal was luke warm. At least the blueberries were plump and fresh. The ham was slimey, wet, cold slices of boiled lunch meat ham. No attempt even to sear them well on the griddle. Yuck. I couldn't eat them.
I ordered Steak & eggs. I don’t really know where was the Steak!! Just a couple of beef slices Not a Steak !!!
Everybody loves a good diner, this is not a good diner. My single, standard waffle in the "lumberjack breakfast" was half cooked. The Ham with my meal was two slices of deli ham, warmed up. The menu says that you can get up to three refills of your 6 oz cup of coffee for $3. I got one cup of coffee and the promise for some more which was quickly forgotten. There are so many tables and chairs crammed into this small space that I'm surprised the fire marshal hasn't put them on notice yet. They started busting the table while we were still sitting there, hustling us out the door.
