Opinions de The Botanist New York
What a wonderful restaurant! So glad to have found this gem for unconventional brunch. The mains are all bowls with soup, curry, etc. shared the curry and Tibetan mama and they both were excellent. The server was incredibly helpful and gave great advice. Topped it off with a brownie that was The healthiest brownie I’ve ever eaten, and also among the most flavorful! Will definitely return to try some of their other excellent options as well as their cocktails.
Everything was very good! I can tell they source high quality ingredients for their food and drinks.
We got a few things to try and share, and they were also delicious the brownie with cashew cream, amazing! We both got the build your own bowl and the coconut curry is so good. If I lived in New York City, I would be eating here all the time. You can get gluten-free vegan deliciousness with a nice variety. The food feels healthy and nourishing.
Lovely ambiance and menu. My fiancé and I ate at this restaurant a while back so not sure what we got, but at the time I wasn't deeply impressed. But now after the fact, I crave going back. The food was seasoned very well and had very distinct flavors. A great spot for people looking for actual vegan, whole food, meals!
Amazing vegan restaurant!!! It is so easy to night out and drink every night in NYC but this restaurant offsets our eat outs. Love all the healthy and delicious items on the menu. The bowls are amazing. A mezze plate with two different hummus and coconuts is top notch. Wish this place opens in LA too!!!
Le Botaniste was the first organic, plant-based, carbon-neutral restaurant in New York City. We enjoyed our first visit at Le Botaniste! It surprise us with delicious, satisfying, plant-powered organic meals that are good for the body and sustainable for our planet! I am not only appreciate the concept of this delicious restaurant, I like the interior design as well. You should try it, you will love it!
I just loved again this place! The menu is short but with different types of dishes, and great great flavour! Also, very carefully and beutifully served. I tried this time the half soup of the day (squash) and the half bowl (I picked the bolognesa pasta), I really enjoyed my lunch! Also the place is very clean and lightened, very appealing to be and stay. And the personnel is very kind too! I talk to the colombian coocker who was serving, he was super kind!!
Why is there not a line out the door and down the street for this place? Simply put, it is magical. Every single item we chose was delicious, expertly prepared, and nutritious. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful inside with a pleasing botanical-apothecary theme, plenty of seating, and whistle clean restrooms. Even the bowls were beautiful abs the trays were mesmerizing- we couldn’t stop staring at how beautiful they were. We loved our experience so much and will definitely return.
Vegetarian cuisine is a high art. unusual combinations of delicately cooked vegetables with herbs and spices. incredibly delicious desserts with nut sauces. wine..! This is an aftertaste and tartness, rare notes. interior: a combination of classic details with stylish accents. a real 3D feast for the senses! try young coconut spaghetti and buckwheat brownies!
One of my favorite restaurants in the city! Healthy, delicious, flavorful and colorful food which is easy on your gut and wallet. Great price to portion and quality ratio. Variety of options, all can be modifiable to your individual taste. A heaven for vegetarians. We have loved every item on the menu, including their vegan desserts. Best part is that they also serve wine and some great non alcoholic, sugar free drinks. What else could you ask for? The ambience is casual and modern, self service and the staff is friendly and polite. Great for hanging with friends or for grabbing casual healthy food in the city.
This place is wonderful! Our server, Jamal, was helpful and friendly. He offered us suggestions, as it was our first time visiting. The entire menu is vegan. We ordered the Mediterranean Pasta, Tibetan Mama, Omega-3 brownie, and the botanical lemonade. The food is delicious, and the prices are remarkably fair. We will be back!
consider this a vegan answer to Dig: a place that sings the many pleasures of vegetables, through spices, herbs and cooking methods. saag had the right texture and the bowl came with a hefty serving of the main along with some perfect additions. As an Indian I’m not going to say that this is remotely authentic to the spinach curry that we are used to. I did add a lot of hot sauce. but, if you are open to trying someone’s translation of saag, it is well worth the journey. I will be back to try more!
La Botaniste is a local chain serving plant-based fare in the most gorgeous of settings. I met a friend here for dinner and we had a great time. The aesthetics of this shop really lets you relax compared to the hustle and bustle of the outside world. Upon entering, you either order and grab your food, or find a table to settle down first. My dinner was the Tibetan Curry which was pretty good but was made much better when you added some baked tofu into the mix. I felt the depth of flavor could've been deeper but was still happy with having a great hearty bowl in the heart of Manhattan be so readily available. They didn't have their full dessert options available so I'll have to try that the next time I'm back for another round.
La Botaniste has a beautiful concept and a warm, earthy vibe, but my experience was a mix of highs and lows. The plant-based dishes are fresh and thoughtfully prepared, and I appreciated the clean ingredients. However, some items felt a bit under-seasoned for the price, and the portion sizes were smaller than expected. Service was friendly but a little slow during my visit, even though the space wasn’t too busy. It’s a good spot if you’re looking for something healthy and quick, but there’s room for improvement in flavor, value, and overall consistency. I’d return for a light meal, but it wouldn’t be my first choice for a satisfying, memorable dining experience.
I really wanted the food flavors to match the decor of this place. The design is beautiful. Everything looks well thought out from the food display area to the shelving and room decor. Even the food looks delicious, but I found it bland and boring which it shouldn't be since it's based upon food from places that have very tasty vegetarian food. I had some sort of Moroccan stew that could have been Campbell's soup based flavor wise. The staff were gracious and swift. I tasted my chef friends ( yes we're all in the food biz) dishes that all looked great, but reminded me of vegetarian dishes grub the 70s where not having meat in them was the goal and not the taste.
Tbh I wouldn’t suggest le botaniste. I got the falafel and green tea and everything was very flavorless. The store and aesthetics of the place was very beautiful and homey, but it felt more like a clothing store than a food store. I felt like I was going to go shopping for clothes or furniture than eat at a place. The customer service was ok, they weren’t all that chatty and just did their job. Overall, this place felt very sterile and not a food place. Their food could use a lot more flavoring for sure. The portion size was alright and the pricing was moderate. It’s a little bit on the pricey side. Price:$11.98💸 Rating: 3/10 📝
Gone are the days when Le Botaniste would serve their cozy vegan meals with a proper portion and nice service. We used to eat in & take out a lot from this location when we lived in the neighborhood. It was always a friendly service and portions were plenty. Just the other night, on the eve of thanksgiving, less than an hour before closing time, I stopped by for two bowls to-go. I ordered the Tibetan Mama & Pasta Bolo for my partner and I. The bowls were barely coated with their respective sauces, at best two light spoons of sauce were served upon the carbs, a small scoop of veggies, and a smaller spoon of “sour cream” for the extra charge of $2.50. I felt embarrassed and uncomfortable to say something… When I walked in, the staff were in mid conversation, they didn’t even look at me until I initiated a “hello” when I approached the glass. They took my order with an aloof attitude — granted, it was the end of the day but it felt like I was at a school cafeteria being served by a stoic grumpy person and you wouldn’t dare complain about anything because they just want you to move along. Except no one else was waiting. As if this wasn’t bad enough, upon arrival home, the food was spilled inside the paper bag and it leaked unto my newly bought leather bag, which now bears an unremovable stain (the paper bag with my food order was placed inside my shopping bag where my other items were to consolidate). This goes to show that the staff did not properly close the lids of the to-go containers, and it ruined the item that I had just bought and can’t even return now. My partner, still oblivious to my experience when I served the meals for us, asked me, “did the portions get smaller? I don’t remember the bowls being so meager.” We are completely disappointed with the lack of care and attention from this establishment. There’s no reason to be cheap with portions, especially given that the food station was full and closing time was coming soon, as there is no reason to treat customers with such below average hospitality. It was literally pouring rain outside and I made the effort to pick up some dinner at of what was once one of our favorite places. For what each bowl costs (about $17.37/each with taxes), both the service and the portion make this an overpriced meal option and I will no longer be recommending this place unless they attempt to remedy this and bring it back to how it used to be. Two bowls, an extra sour cream, and a beet juice came out to $48.78, might not sound like much for two people in NYC, but it left us feeling hungry, frustrated, and ruined my new $60+ leather bag.
