This is a great Korean gem in Korea town in NY. We were blessed to be seated quickly. The waiters are attentive. Food is wonderful and you do not have to wait long for it come out. I will definitely be back and highly recommend it to everyone.

such yummy food! went around 6pm right before the dinner rush (5 min later there was a long line) so recommend going a bit early. i got the c1 and it was very soothing and delicious. the side dishes were good too! service was quick and all servers were super polite. not pictured but the tea they serve you at the end of the meal was really good.

Been coming here for a few times in the past 3 years. Very Korean place. All staffs are super warm and nice. Great hospitality the moment you step in. Servers go beyond to make sure guests are enjoying. Food is tasty, authentic and large portion. Great selection of appetizers (free, included in every meal) and keep on coming. I have always been ordering LA Galbi. Beef is well marinated, tender, juicy and perfect temperature. Naenmyan is al dente. Make sure you add the mustard sauce and white vinegar to taste — important to get a kick. Pick a few simple words in Korean will take your visit more interactive.

place had a chill vibe. food was good too, just what i had in mind. service wasn’t super attentive but honestly I didn’t mind that at all, if you call them over they’ll come so it works out. only thing is double check for allergies because nothing is stated clearly on the menu and they don’t ask. only had a combo meal (veggie bibimbap w soondubu [no spicy]) so i definitely have to come check out more dishes

Psst.. go during lunch special hours. Peaceful and quiet. Staff is friendly and doing the best they can with all the online orders. The Food, chef kiss it was DELICIOUS! I got the lunch special bossam and soft tofu soup and it was so good. I needed a soup during these cold seasons. They have complimentary side dishes which was delicious, some hot tea to help with the weather, and a sweet tea at the end. This is a great spot if your looking for a balanced meal thats affordable. Will come again

I ordered seafood bibimbap and it was great. Side dishes were refilled with no delay. We all enjoyed our meal. It was a great experience. I certainly recommends this place.

Excellent location, cozy ambiance and the most delectable Korean delicacies make this one of our favorite stops in the city. Everyone is super kind and attentive, little respite in the middle of city chaos. We will be back soon! 10/10.

Reserved for a group and loved the quiet area in the back. Authentic Korean food, great quality, and super friendly service. Had a great time — highly recommend!

i only gave the service and atmosphere 4 stars because i haven't been there physically. i ordered delivery from here twice and both times i was highly satisfied. it was absolutely delicious and i loved their selection of banchan. the first time i had yukgaejang that was booty smackin delicious. the second time i got the galbi and spicy nangmeun. the galbi was delicious but ngl i make a better marinade at home. it was still juicy and soft though! the nangmeun broth was on point

Had the seaweed soup. It is a very simple dish but you’d be surprised how many places mess it up. This place was great and authentic. Definitely recommend stopping by if you want good authentic Korean food!

Kunjip absolutely lives up to the hype. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm, lively, and authentically Korean. Korean. I’ve been coming here consistently for over 5 years, and the food quality has always been reliable Every dish comes out fresh, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. The BBQ meats are high quality and cooked just right, and the banchan selection is generous and delicious. You can really tell they care about consistency and staying true to tradition. I highly recommend BBQ Combo #4—it’s been my favorite lately. The service is another highlight. Our most recent server was incredibly kind and friendly and genuinely made us want to come back. Portions were solid, prices felt fair for NYC, and the overall experience was just excellent. Whether you’re coming with friends, family, or visiting from out of town, Kunjip is a must-visit spot for Korean food in NYC. I’ll definitely be coming back.

One of the OG korean restaurants in K town. I haven't been here in a while but dropped in with the wife for a dinner. This place you have a decent chance of walk-in which is great. You can get a pretty standard menu and side dishes here but we really liked the octopus and braised beef dishes. Some side dishes were really good like the sweet pumpkin. It's not a fancy or a special spot, but a good steady spot when craving k food.

I had an incredible meal at The Kunjip in Manhattan. It’s been a long time since I’ve felt this full and satisfied at a Korean restaurant. We ordered the pork bulgogi stone pot rice, soft tofu stew, pork soup, and beef fried rice, and everything was flavorful and perfectly cooked. The side dishes were outstanding too — especially the gat-kimchi and japchae that came with the meal. Everything tasted fresh, authentic, and comforting. I was genuinely impressed. Highly recommended, and I’ll definitely be back!

Small family owned Korean bbq. Upstairs nicer than downstairs. Great waygu beef with great side dishes. Beer and sogu flowed easily. Group of 6.

I had an amazing Korean BBQ experience at thekeunjip The quality of the food, the variety of banchan, and the overall atmosphere were all excellent. We ordered samgyeopsal and pork galbi, and both were outstanding. The samgyeopsal was thick, juicy, and perfectly fresh, crisping up beautifully on the grill. The pork galbi had a deep, well-balanced marinade — not too sweet, not too salty — and every bite was tender and full of flavor. The side dishes were also great: the scallion salad, kimchi, radish cubes, and steamed egg all paired perfectly with the BBQ. The bubbling soup on the side added that cozy, authentic Korean comfort touch. The grill setup was clean and well-maintained, and the staff was attentive throughout the meal. The owner was especially kind and welcoming, which made the entire experience even better. Overall, this place delivers a truly satisfying Korean BBQ experience — excellent meat, delicious sides, and warm, attentive service. I would definitely come back again!

The Kunjip is one of my go-to spots in K-Town! The service is always fast and friendly, and there are so many food options to choose from — everything I’ve tried so far has been delicious. 🍲 It’s right in the heart of K-Town, which makes it super convenient to stop by after shopping or hanging out. The only downsides are that it can get pretty crowded during peak hours, and some dishes are a little pricey. Still, totally worth it for the quality and experience. If you love Korean food and don’t mind a busy vibe, this is the place to be!

I always go here with my friends after class and The Kunjip has NEVER failed me with giving amazing food, alcohol, energy, and vibes! Andy is the best server, so you're lucky if you get him! If you want to get drunk while getting good food, this is the perfect place! Also best banchan (side dishes) forever!

On a rainy day, took a walk to Korea town. Felt like eating something hearty and went to the Kunjip. Best decision of the day - I had the gam ja tang which was sooooo delicious. The meat was so tender and broth rich and flavourful. Paired with such lovely fresh rice and assorted ban chan. It was the best Korean food I've had. Lots of Koreans frequenting the restaurant, including more senior customers, which means the food is legit!

We have been to kunjip maybe 30-40 times in past few years and it has never disappointed. Been here first with some Korean friends who took us and mentioned it’s an authentic experience, which is true and makes the place special. It’s not fancy place and simple one but clean and good food which is most important. We always like their japche noodles, pancake, budge chigae, beef broth chigae, bimimbob. Sorry for all the spelling mistakes, but you know what I mean. We also love their side dishes which come complimentary at beginning of meal. One thing- or sure why they stopped giving the tasty steamed egg as a complimentary starter which now only is for bbq customers- found that bit bad way to treat regular customers. Also some of the other complimentary starters are now downgraded also to cheaper stuff. So I took off one star in service for all this “cheapness” let’s say. We used to give a high tip anyway due to all the extras in past and it was nice perk but anyway rest of dishes are tasty still. It’s $25 per person if you don’t get any alcohol.

The Kunjip was the perfect spot to have dinner after a New York Rangers game. The fact that the walk is so close to MSG made it an easy choice to go to. The food was delicious, and the Korean Barbecue was some of the best food I've had at a Korean restaurant in a long time. The service was excellent, we got a table immediately and were able to place our order in a reasonable time. Our waiter was great, the food came fast, and our drinks were always full. Every time our drinks got low, the waiter asked us if we wanted more drinks and brought them to us. Which is appreciated, thank you for that. The Kunjip will be a place to visit again the next time we are in NYC.

Stopped by for a light dinner and the place was still busy even a bit past weekday dinner time. We ordered the Deon Jang and Soon Doo Boo, both were flavorful, well balanced, and not too salty. The side dishes were great, and we also received complimentary steamed egg during the meal and sujeonggwa afterward, which was a nice touch. Overall a very satisfying experience, though it would have been even better if they offered a military discount.

The restaurant has a second floor and although it was crowded, I went for dinner on a Thursday with a group of 8 and there's was no wait time. As do most Korean restaurants, there are unlimtied side dishes given at the very beginning and I remember the squid was really good. The items were prettt pricey, but the portions were large and extremely fulling.

My go to for Korean food! Some dishes are a hit or miss. Like the bibimbap doesn’t usually have a crispy rice bottom but I always come here for soy marinated crab! Good samgyetang and rabokki too. Service is not always the best when it’s busy but it’s okay

We’ve been to Kunjip twice now, and overall it’s a very solid Korean BBQ spot in New York. The food is good—definitely not the best Korean BBQ I’ve ever had, but also far from average. It sits comfortably in that strong 4-star range. We ordered the BBQ Combo #4, which was a good choice. The meats were flavorful and well-prepared, and the portions were satisfying. Along with the combo, we had steamed egg, soondubu (tofu soup), japchae, salad, and all the usual banchan—everything tasted fresh and enjoyable. The steamed egg and tofu soup were especially good. We also ordered lychee juice, which was refreshing and paired well with the meal. Service was good. The lady who took care of us was friendly and attentive, and the manager seemed very welcoming and funny—gives the place a nice, family-owned vibe. The restaurant design is okay—about a 4 out of 5. It’s not super modern or newly renovated, but that’s pretty normal for NYC, and it doesn’t take away from the experience. One thing to note: reservations are highly recommended. Even with a reservation, you may still wait 20–30 minutes, sometimes longer, especially during busy hours. Overall, good food, good service, and a classic Korean BBQ experience. Not perfect, but definitely a place we’d return to.

I’ve been to this Korean BBQ twice now and both times were excellent. The food is delicious as most KBBQ’s are. The Soju (apple & peach) are very tasty and everyone loved them. They have taken care of us very well each time. You definitely need to make a reservation. And you better show up on time because they’re extremely busy and most likely will give your table away.

Great location. In K-town. Close to countless shops, bakeries, shopping, bbq and more. City view from 2nd floor which is perfect for people watching, kinda relaxing. Standard Korean restaurant decoration, and they kept everything fairly clean. They serve traditional Korean food here, not the fusion kind. Galbi was delicious & cooked just right. So was the spicy kimchi pork and tofu. Tofu soup was good. Fresh made rice, yum. I was a bit disappointed with the steamed mando (dumplings). The dumplings filling was bland and were over steamed falling apart, couldn’t even pick up without any dumplings falls apart. Ordered hot sake, and they forgot about it until my husband had to remind the 3 ladies that work upstairs , while they were just gathered by the computer for a long time and no one was checking on any of the customers. Service was ok, definitely can use some improvement. Value was good, dishes are reasonably priced. Do recommend to check this place out, just be careful what you order.

Came by last night for dinner, food was pretty good! Japchae was my favorite, cold noodles were refreshing (Korean style you can add mustard and vinegar, regular was fine for me) and tofu stew/soup plus spicy pork bibimbob were all good for sharing :)

Our complimentary banchan is different from the next table, not sure why. Lunch special is a good deal, and you can get a pretty decent lunch for less than $30. The service is rushing; they rushed you by giving you dessert juice and cleaning up table while we are still eating. Won’t come back again in general.

H Wang

One of my go-to spots in Korea-town, NYC I love how every meal comes with 5–6 tasty banchan (Korean side dishes) — they are flavorful, and change often. I had the broiled mackerel, and it was amazing. The lunch special gives you half a mackerel with fresh-made rice and a hearty stew for $19.95, I also had the whole fish for $30.95. Truthfully, for the variety, flavor, and nutritional value, it’s hard to beat this place. Great portions, quick service, and a cozy, authentic vibe. Highly recommend. Tip: Talk slower and clear to the service attendant, I experienced their Korean much better than English.

There is one middle age lady with ponytail. Super rude and not welcoming. It’s like she is in her menopause and everyone is her enemy. Below poor attitude. Rude ! Food was ok and the other servers seem to be a bit better. But this middle age pony tail woman shouldn’t work if she hates it so much. I wouldn’t spend money to get this attitude. Just thinking about it makes me mad that woman I ordered a lot and spent over 60$ and really felt like not tipping but at the end still gave 18%. I think I should have gotten 25% tips for being treated so badly and making me lost appetite

This was my go-to place in Koreatown until I had a stressful experience last night. Servers were rude. We asked to refill 2 side dishes. We've been here plenty of times so we know they're refillable. The server came back and gave 1 of the 2 side dishes. As he was about to give the other one, the old lady server came to him and stopped him and said something to him in Korean, and they just left without giving the other side dish. We were left hanging with no explanation. If they came with extra charge, they should've told us and we would gladly pay more. If there was a language barrier, they should ask a server fluent in English to explain and not leave us hanging, otherwise it was rude. Water was also not offered so we requested it by the end of our meal. The tall guy slammed it on the table, and we were surprised since it never happened before. We decided not to give any tip this time because our experience was ruined. The same tall guy chased us with the receipt and said, "Is everything all right? You need to leave a tip". I responded that we had a bad experience here so we're not leaving a tip, to which he replied, "I'm sorry about that. We're going to talk to her, but you still need to give a tip because we share it with others." He was cornering me along the staircase and was clearly not genuine about the apology and wanted to just get it over with. I ended up just checking the lowest which was 20% because it was so stressful to me. They should know that they're not only serving food but comfort as well, and we always leave a generous tip especially if we dined in. But this time, we felt the discrimination and I wonder if I would get the same rude treatment if I were of different race? It was disappointing, especially since I always eat here and even recommended it to my family and friends. Please AVOID this restaurant if you want to eat good food and relax after work. Not worth it. 100% not coming back.
