Opinions de The Molly Wee Pub New York
The food and service at Molly Wee were excellent. I had the turkey club for lunch, and it was freshly made and really delicious. The atmosphere was great, especially if you’re a Rangers or Knicks fan. I’d definitely recommend it and will be back again.
Cormac was the most amazing bartender I've been served by in a very long time. He made us feel welcomed and at home and nothing short of amazing hospitality. He personally sang me happy birthday when I said I didnt have a cake the day of! It's not very often to get good hospitality anymore but cormac definitely made my boyfriend and I feel so special. Talk about a diamond in the rough of NYC.
What a nice place! The food is great. I had the Reuben and my friend had the bacon cheeseburger. Both were large and delicious. The corned beef was tender, no gristle. The fries are large and chunky and yummy. I will definitely return! It is a comfortable size inside. Sports tv's at the bar. I would feel very safe going there by myself. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff.
Late review, this was back in July 2024. I was in the city on a work trip. Flight was canceled and it was late and storming. The bartender welcomed us in, immediately provided excellent service. This place ruined Guiness for me anywhere else in America so far, because it was the best I've ever had. I also had the fish and chips which were fantastic. We (my co-workers and I) enjoyed it so much, we went back the next night.
I came here for the first time today. This is such a charming little Irish Pub. The place is clean and the waitstaff was very friendly. They have a decent sized menu with reasonable prices. I got the Bacon Cheeseburger with Fries and it was delicious. The bartender here also makes a wicked Margarita. This place is in the perfect location since Madison Square Garden and Penn Station are close by. I recommend checking this place out and I will definitely be back again.
After getting a seat at the bar it took 10 minutes before the bartender asked what I wanted, service was definitely slow in the beginning. It got better by the third drink. Ordered some food , sliders & fries ,it was very tasty. Place was packed. Anything going on at the garden it seems a-lot of people pre game it at this bar. Loud & busy bar.. If you like crowded & loud this place is for you.
We always eat here before a knick game. Service by Allen was the best. Such nice man. Turkey club as one reviewer said, was delicious. However there aren't many choices for vegetarians. Hubby said veggie burger was too salty. But the fries were great. Thank you, Allen.
Good spot for a drink if you’re going to Madison Square Garden, Penn Station, or staying at the New Yorker. Google Maps is confusing when listing bars/restaurants around this area. However, this place is open and easy to find. Drink prices are normal for the area. I’ve seen some complaints about the staff, but everyone was courteous during my 3 visits. Food is mediocre at best. There is a deli on the next block. Lots of people coming and going from MSG.
The place is nice and I wanted to drink some whiskey and sit by the window and watch the city life. Well you can only sit at the window of you are 2 or more people even if the place is dead and they have basically no whiskey selection even though they are a Irish pub. My guess is they make their money from the location not offering good service.
if you want your server to treat you absolutely horribly this is the place to go! My entire family came to the restaurant and they treated us awfully. Our server was extremely rude and our food was luke warm. there are 1 million restaurants in New York City and I would suggest going anywhere else. I never wanted to write a review this bad but I would never recommend anyone going here.
About two weeks ago, after school, my friends and I stopped by for a quick drink. We didn’t plan to stay long and were short on time. We waited around 15 minutes for a Corona, a margarita, and a Guinness. While the bar didn’t seem particularly busy and most other guests already had their drinks, this felt like an unusually long wait for such simple orders. The bigger issue came afterward. A woman we assumed to be the manager approached our table and placed a “reserved” sign on it without saying a word or even making eye contact — as if we weren’t sitting there. She did the same to the table next to us. We exchanged confused looks with the other guests, who also agreed that this felt disrespectful. We weren’t being overly sensitive; it was simply awkward and uncomfortable. Shortly after, the same person came back, leaned on our table, and stood over us without addressing us at all. Again, no explanation, no eye contact — just an uncomfortable presence before walking away. When my friend later asked a server about the reserved sign, the server directed her back to our table. She then explained, rather reluctantly, that the table was reserved for later in the evening. I told her that the issue wasn’t the reservation itself, but the way it was handled — placing a sign on an occupied table without saying anything, and hovering over us without communication. Her response was something along the lines of “Was I supposed to explain it to you?” though she spoke very quietly and unwillingly, so I don’t want to misquote her. She eventually said the table was reserved but that we could stay, in a tone that felt more like a reprimand than hospitality — almost like a teacher scolding students. It was honestly more awkward than intimidating. She also attempted to shift the blame onto the servers, which felt unfair, especially since the servers themselves were genuinely kind and polite throughout. This was probably the first place where I chose not to leave a tip — not because of the staff, but because of how the situation was handled at a management level.
Rude service. I don’t think the server said you’re welcome once when we said thank you. Seemed like everything we asked for was an inconvenience to them. Would not return. Too many bars in the city to bother with this. Apparently silverware for finger food is like potato skins is an odd request. Pub itself was fine and atmosphere would’ve been good is there was any semblance of service. Should have went home instead of here.
I have personally experienced racism at this bar, and I strongly advise staying away, especially if you are Black. The environment is not welcoming to people of color Black individuals are not allowed unless accompanied by a white person. I also had a troubling encounter with a bartender of Mexican descent who poisoned my drink while the white supervisor aces him to do so. As a Black woman who served in the Navy, I am familiar with the signs of poisoning, and the reaction I had afterward confirmed it. Sadly, I have been living in this neighborhood since 1983, when my elders paved the way for us to call this place home. Yet, even after five generations as a Black New Yorker, I am still facing racism and hostility. It's disheartening to see that, after all these years, things have not changed.
