Super popular, super convenient, super tasty. A vast array of room temperature items packed with pleasure and ready to eat or take out (with hot items like miso soup too). A host of Asian/Korean specialities, including chicken, pork, seafood, and vegetarian. Nice deals. Efficient and friendly service. Paying cash nets a discount. I come here every chance I get.

Great Korean take out open late at night when I needed it most. Cheap for NYC.

Great location if you’re in the mood for simple self-serve/takeaway Korean cuisine. Lots of pre-made options as well as buffet style a la carte. This place is packed during lunch and dinner hours. It is self serve so don’t expect extreme cleanliness and top notch service. If it gets too crowded just get takeaway and go by Macys to find seatings.

This place has everything! Yes everything, it is very convenient when you are running out time to get foods. Grab, heat up in 1 min, eat and go.. We grabbed all different items, there were all good! Feel like eating homemade foods!

So good! Quick and healthy. The food was seasoned well despite the low price point. The beef was savory, japchae was chewy, rice was fluffy, shumai was shrimpy, and the greens were refreshing. The egg was lacking salt but was still good. The kimchi was more bitter than I prefer. $14 for a lunchbox with this much food and variety is a steal. The drink brought me to $19 total with tax. They offer 8% off for cash - definitely remember that next time. The vibe is great for solo eaters on their lunch break. They also have a wide variety of other entrees, sides, and drinks. Each item has a prepared date to indicate freshness which is helpful when selecting your meal. I’ll definitely be coming back here again!

felt so lucky discovering this place! They served to-go dishes, or called ‘dosirak’ in korean. Everything packed in boxes. The menu varies, you can find common korean dishes such as jjapchae, kimchi fried rice, bibimbap, bulgogi, egg rolls, etc. They also have special menu each week. Price mostly range from $5-$10. Very good value of money given the location. Microwaves are provided. The place is always crowded, but the tables are not that many. Recommend: jjapchae! But i will come back to try moreee.

I went to this joint to get a fast lunch during my layover in New York. They offer homemade Korean food that you pay per order. My order consisted of mapo tofu with fried rice and a side dish of small kimchi and I had to pay for around $12. Such a nice bargain and the food is also tasty! I also like the lady at the cashier who was very friendly. If you pay cash they will give you 8% discount!

A very good place with ready-to-eat food at really cheap prices, ranging from 6/7 to 11 $ per dish. Some of the food is still hot, indicating it was prepared recently, and it tastes so good. There is the ingredients and expiration dates indicated on the food, plus the place provides microwaves to heat your food. A convenient spot for a fast lunch!

Various options to choose from. I choose tteokbokki, Chicken and kimbap platter with a side of Milkis. Quick and tasty meal if you are confused on where to eat in Ktown. Will definitely come here again.

lately, i have been in the vicinity of Ktown and have been at Woorijip bc it is convenient and the prepared foods there are consistently good. the layout of things is pretty simple: seating in the front, registers toward the front, stacks of shelved boxed food neatly organized, refrigerated units of drinks and cold eats further back and further seating in the back. this place is super clean, always brightly lit, and has a simple welcoming vibe to hungry masses on west 32nd st. you can dine in here if you got the “jab” as they have a couple of tiny microwaves to warm up your food OR you can simply takeout. it’s basically cafeteria style eating in a neat organized tasty way. this is also a great way to intro noobs to Korean food: 1) bc there’s a good amount of variety of foods and sizes and 2) bc the quality is good and consistent. sometimes, i just come here to pick up a side of kimchi as i am kinda an addict to this pickled eat as a side when i make dinner. other times, when i am too lazy to cook—the boxed varieties of Korean foods and other Asian eats hit the spot. recently, i had the clean rice noodles with bulgogi & spinach. the flavors are just what i wanted: savory, a little sweet, a little spicy, and full of comfort. the bulgogi is obviously shaved in—no big pieces, but it works bc this is a simple dish. while the packaging makes it seem small—this is an ample serving when it comes down to it. trust. boxed meals range from $5-$12—the rice noodles with bulgogi was $7 + tax. there are also a variety of smaller dishes like soups and sides in the $2-$7 range. choose your own adventure! the staff are pretty nice and have been hospitable even when the lines are long and it is super busy. and trust me, it’s always busy in Ktown, just try waking through any time of day or night.

Affordable for the area. Fun, high variety cafeteria style food spot. Nothing fancy -- affordable, a tastey eats; no frills. Plastic containers or buffet are your options. I plan to come back!

probably some of the cheapest good food you can get in manhattan. everything’s delicious, i can’t recommend this place enough. perfect for a grab and go meal. you can def get a meal under $10, and i feel like if you go up to $15-20 you get more than enough.

A variety of Korean food with authentic taste and decent portions with reasonable prices. You can easily grab a box you want and can even reheat it in the microwave there. They also have warm soups too. Time and money saver indeed.

I stopped by Woorjijip in Koreatown, Manhattan, and picked up a couple of veggie sides as takeout. The *bean string* was a highlight - perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of flavor and less salt. However, the *cream curd rice bun* was on the sweeter side... The location is convenient, and the spot was bustling on a Friday afternoon, which speaks to its popularity. Overall, Woorjin seems like a great option for Korean-inspired eats; there are several take options or you could just wst in. I'd recommend trying the bean string if you're a vegetarian and in the area! 🥗👌

I took purple rice, stir fried fish cakes and seafood soft tofu stew. It wasn’t really that spicy but overall it was pretty good and everything was fresh.

It's good. Well-mannered cashiers, quick and easy. I wish the portions were a little bit bigger but otherwise I'm satisfied.

classic no frills cheap place to eat! great value for food and very tasty. beef kimbap was 4/5, spicy pork bowl was 5/5, tteokbokki was 2/5, wouldn’t recommend that much. the spicy pork bowl filled me up and was super cheap!! love this place im coming back and trying more stuff defffff 😛

A quick pick me up spot to grab some Korean food before you go and drink! They have a good amount of Korean dishes. Drinks are also sold there BUT soju can only be drunk there. Beer you can take out of the restaurant/market.

I just popped in for a snack. I chose the shrimp tempura roll with spicy mayo sauce and a canned coke, but there were tons of other options that looked amazing. My roll was very good. I was here during lunch time so it was busy but the line was short since there are many registers. There is plenty of seating so it was easy to find a seat. I will definitely return.

We craved for Korean food and saw long line up at the restaurant at Korean Town on Friday night. So, we went to Woorijip in hope to get a quick dinner. The store was packed with lots of people. It has good selections of Korean food with affordable price: Kimbab, Japjae, fried rice, sushi, Korean drinks. There were seating area at the front & back of the store but it was packed. So we had to wait for other people finishing their meal & got a table. - Kimchi fried rice: delicious & flavorful fried rice. It had a good balanced of sourness from the kimchi & savory spices. - Inari sushi: the sushi pieces were big. They were good. - Beef bulgogi kimbap: the portion was pretty generous for the price. The kimbap was good - filled with lots of beef at the center. - Spicy gochujang chicken: it was good but I wish to be more spicy & crispier. The chicken meat was juicy and the sauce was good.

As a Flight Attendant, you often have to pick from a group of words if you want to eat on layover and didn't have time to meal prep. Fast/affordable/healthy/easy/nearby/variety, you often only get to pick two. I'm so happy that I found a place in downtown NY that meets all of these categories. The food was delicious, the selection was wide, lots of healthy options, quick, and didn't break my wallet before payday. You can eat in or take away, microwaves are available to heat up the food, and even later at night there was a great selection and people bringing fresh product out. I easily found everything I needed for myself and my crew and was able to rush back to my hotel and feed them after a long day of flying. The people who work there are exceptional, very kind and welcoming. I want to especially say thank you to Rue, who was super sweet, and so nice to talk to. She was thorough and friendly, and very kind. I look forward to my next layover in NYC, because I will absolutely be coming back and bringing my crew with me next time so we can share a meal in the store.

The store is very clean and all of their food is fresh and comes at great prices. I got the chicken katsu and for less than $15 I had enough food for two meals. The rice was really good, all the vegetables were super fresh, and the meat was well cooked and tasted great. This place has such a huge variety of options I was in there for like 20 minutes just trying to decide what to get. Overall, I highly recommend if you’re a local because it’s so convenient, but if you’re a tourist looking for an “experience” there are other places to go.

Great spot for a quick and affordable Korean meal! Plenty of options to suit anybody’s taste as well! A bit limited seating so best for takeout unless you’re there during the less busy hours!

This casual takeout spot in ktown sells almost all korean bentos under $10 (extra 8% off if you pay in cash)-- utterly unbelievable in the most expensive city in the world. At this price point I really didn't expect much, but they were actually pretty delicious. Most of the bentos are still warm, and you can microwave them at the self-service corner. There are also plenty of seatings for you to enjoy your meal. * Inari Sushi $4.5 The assorted rice enveloped inside the tofu pockets hit the sweet spot. This was cheaper and tastier than the inari I bought at Wegmans. * Crab Meat Jeon $6.5 Five big pieces of jeon were packed in a box. Each jeon was stuffed with crab meat, scallions and corn. Well seasoned, not too oily. Of course it wasn't comparable to those served in a restaurant, but they were good enough to satisfy your cravings. *Banana Milk $2.5

I love woorijip!! Its so fun to come pick out food, theres lots of options in containers and at cheap prices. You can reheat and eat here or take it to go really easily. The fried chicken, spicy noodles, kimchi fried rice, and kimbap are all delicious. Its clean inside and there were lots of staff at checkout, so no line. Lots of drink options too. Its convenient being in ktown and close to penn station

This is succch a cool concept in midtown and I feel it’s super convenient for people who commute everyday to work. Freshly packed, ready to eat, premade lunch boxes to go that are also healthy. They’ve got a ton of options to choose from and there’s something for every dietary preferences. They don’t have a lot of processed food items instead from what I saw it was a lotta protein, greens and fresh fruits and veggies. Their menu keeps changing and every food counter had the time and date each box was packed and until when it’s good to eat. They have a minimum $10 for card transactions. There were a few tables inside to sit and eat too, nothing fancy because this is more of a grab n go kinda spot. I got the japchae and it was super flavorful. I thoroughly appreciated it and next time I’m in town I know where I’m going again.

Woorijip is my comfort spot in NYC and if I’m in town for an event I do my best to eat here at least once! I walked 20 min from my hotel just to eat here lollll It’s comfort food of your choice (my default is mackerel, purple rice and miyeokguk with any type of kimchi as a side), and the microwave they have to reheat certain items is great! I love the affordability of the dishes and that everything is prepacked in case I have to take it to go 👍

S
Shana Young

This was my first time in NY and trying this food. I watch a lot of K-dramas and was dying to try some dishes. I Googled Korean buffets and this place came up. Yet it is not the kind of buffet you would expect. The only thing that is hot is the rice. They are pre-packaged and after paying you use a microwave to warm up. Bags are 5 cents and seating is limited but was very satisfied.

S

This is like going to a Seven Eleven in Asia where the bento boxes of delicious meals can be picked up and devoured on the go or seat and enjoy! The price is very reasonable but the taste lunches above its weight! Excellent food at excellent price!!

R

When I want cheap and fast Korean food I come to this place. Almost everything is spicy and they have a good selection of Korean food and alcoholic beverages such as soju, sake and beer. Warning if you buy the alcoholic beverages you may not the it to go have to finish it in the restaurant/food hall. Staffs are friendly and nice. Atmosphere feels like a food hall or a buffet place, their decor is horrible but yet comfortable. Overall great concept for the pretty cheap Korean food.

J
Jaime Guajardo

Super smart way of having food ready to go. The food was super tasty and worth it. We were able to quickly eat there at a reasonable price. My only complaint is how little beer there was in the bulgogi. It looks like there's a lot, but the meat is a thin layer that's spread at the top.

D
David Alvarado

No frills, inexpensive Korean restaurant. I had the spicy pork bulgogi and the Kimchi Fried Rice, which was the best one. Both of the dishes were tasty and fresh. Would like if they had more microwaves to heat the food.

Woorijip is your go-to spot when you want tasty, no-fuss Korean comfort food that hits the spot every time. It’s casual and super approachable — think quick bites, fresh ingredients, and that homey vibe that makes you feel like you’re grabbing a meal straight from Seoul’s streets. Whether you’re craving bibimbap, spicy tofu stew, or classic kimbap rolls, everything is flavorful and made with care. Perfect for a casual lunch or takeout that never disappoints. If you want authentic Korean eats without any pretense, Woorijip keeps it simple and seriously delicious.

My BIL used to live in the city and brought us to this spot pre karaoke. It was affordable and food was pretty good. We were able to get 5-7 different food items for about $40-50. I’d totally come back even in passing. Btw Soju and Beer are available!

If you're looking for quick, grab & go, cheap, but still quality, then continue reading. The price ranges from $5-15 depending on the dish; def a decent price in this busy location, and the average time to spend here is 15-30 mins max so that you can get back to your trip on time with a full and happy stomach. Located in Ktown in NYC, they have a seating area to dine in and have various options to choose from kimbap, vegetable noodles, kimchi fried rice, bulgogi, seaweed, rice cake, pancake, soup to anything at other Korean restaurants; you def will find it here in a different version. Constantly in and out and busy front and back, it seemed quick, maybe less than 5 mins, to reach their cashier when you get in line. The most important thing is the microwave; they have 2 of them to warm up your food; I can't eat cold, and gladly they have this.

R
Rachel K

Always packed but for a good reason! You get a tray and start picking from a long line of packaged ready-to-eat, authentic Korean dishes- all for amazing prices. Highly recommend going at least once!

Let's Go

A perfect place for a quick bite. WYSIWYG - what you see is what you get. There are so many varieties. The prices are low compared to normal sit down restaurants. But are they good? I think so. The oysters cooked with eggs were delicious. The ox bone broth soup was yummy. The small side dishes were as good as any Korean places I ate before. The bulgogi was good but not great. The portion is good, but the beef lacked little flavor. Don't expect a freshly made and served dish in a scorching hot stone bowl, but you ain't paying 2x the price either. My meal would have easily costed 50% more at other places. I would definitely go back again if I am in the area.

Woorijip marries convenience with wholesome food. I picked up food around 10am for lunch and snacks in my train ride. Many of the trays on the shelves were empty but steadily being stocked. The dishes brought out were still slightly warm from being prepared earlier that morning. Each shelf was marked with date and time prepared for food safety reasons. The flavor and preparation of each dish was perfect and thoughtful. The check out process at the counter was efficient and friendly. The clerk added rubber bands to each of my containers to secure the contents. I'd go here often if it were closer!

This place is an institution. If you want your quick fix of Korean food and in a hurry or just a quick stop with friends to chat and mingle. They even have alcohol here. There’s a discount if you pay with cash. My go to items are the jap chae and tofu soups. The jap chae can be a little sweet but I’m not looking for the best Korean food here.

K

I'm a long time patron of Woorijip. It used to be a well kept secret! I remember when they used to have a small kitchen where you could order simple fresh cooked items in the back. I go here about every other month and buy a ton of items to last me a few days - some rice, soup, tofu, bean sprouts. All those yummy banchan dishes that I make into a meal. I'm glad it's still there and it offers even more variety of dishes than it used to. It's been pretty consistent and I hope it stays that way. I love going and getting what I want, and it always tastes as good as always.

cheap eats! some of the eats we got were dry but nonetheless worth the price. items ranged from $2.50-$10+ and were fair! got all my lunch for 2 people for around $32! would go back again, staff was kind and helpful. lot’s of seating too, def recommend for a quick bite or meal!

If you’re looking for a good Korean grab n’ go, then this is the place to be. There’s a lot of food to choose from whether it’s appetizer, soup, small bites to entrées. Been here a couple of times and the food is always good. You know they prepare it fresh everyday. You can’t go wrong with anything here and it’s reasonably priced as well. If you are ever in koreatown, you must check out this place. Great selection of Korean food accommodating different diets. The cherry on top is their prices. Very reasonable for the portion and location. With Kpop, Korean food has gotten a lot of hype and some stores are definitely taking advantage of that with their outrageous prices but this place isn’t. Also, they give 8% discount for paying in cash. Only thing they can improve on is the seating. Its crowded almost all the time and hard to find seating as there’s only handful tables. Overall, delicious food and friendly staff.

Delicious and affordable Korean food that is all packaged and ready to eat. There is lots of seating and microwaves to heat your food up. Lots of different stuff that all looks good this time I just wanted a quick bite while I wait for someone to arrive to penn station. I got a wild rice roll with crab meat for $5.50 and it was great

The food is always really good and refilled constantly. The service is really simplified. You select the food, stand in line, and then buy it and go back to where you chose to sit. Most of the foods need reheating so they multiple microwaves. Overall, the atmosphere is really one of those cozy places that you would look for to have a long chat with someone.

I gotta say, I LOVE woorijip. It’s affordable and tastes like homemade delicious food. My favorite dish here is probably the gochujang chicken. It has a nice combo of sweet, savory, and spicy, which works amazing with white rice. They also have a microwave and so you can reheat your food and enjoy it hot. If you spent a lot of money on k-town buying other stuff and want to stop your wallet from crying, go to woorijip.

Soooo much variety of Korean food to choose from with some pretty solid prices. It is grab and go hot meals and sides and I went with the Katsu Curry plus some Spicy Cucumbers and both were good. Of course with a readymade katsu you won’t get that crispiness but the curry was still fire.

This place is a literally gem for people who want a delicious lunch that is in the $10 range in Koreatown! The best lunchbox of chicken and crab flavor kimbap is a must order! Happy with the variety of meals and price! They also offer many sitting area and restroom! Food is always good and fresh especially the kimbap. It does get crowded in there sometimes especially during the weekends so it can be hard to find seating. Paying with cash is recommended so you can get a discount. This is a no tip establishment. There’s a microwave inside that can be used to heat up your food as well. Highly recommend!

This is a convenient, grab-and-go Korean eatery where the food is pre-cooked and ready for quick service. It's a great spot to sample a variety of dishes, especially if you're visiting for the first time. The setup is cafeteria-style, with seat-yourself dining. While I believe it's kid-friendly, expect a lively and busy atmosphere.

No frills and yummy! I go here often because they have a huge selection of Asian food (mainly Korean but others are pretty fusion with Chinese and Japanese). Very good taste and affordable too. The staff was also very friendly and helpful. I’d avoid lunchtime as the line gets really out of control.

R
Rajiv Pillai

Loved this place and the variety they offer. This is one place I can visit almost every day for a week and still not be bored. Definitely a must visit place if you love Korean flavours. The sushi was the only one which was a bit dry and didn't stand up to the others.

S

The food is pretty cheap, especially for new york. Whats 20 dollars in the h mart food court is 8 dollars here. The food is also pretty decently delicious for being pre packaged (sometimes a little bland or a little salty, but its still good), and the staff is also very fast so the line dosent get over crowded. The only downside is that its always crowded, so its really noisy and there aren't alot of seats. But its pretty packaged food anyways so just eat it outside. Overall a pretty good place to get food.

A

Great place to grab a quick bite. Freshly made food that is pre-packaged to be eaten either onsite as takeaway. There are microwaves available to reheat any food as well as a warmer with fresh rice and soup. Good variety for their food (rice dishes, proteins, snacks, etc.). Big drink selection as well, ranging from waters, sodas, and even alcohol. The place is a bit cramped but people came and went quickly. Would happily come here again.

N
Nikko Ong

Lots of options on shelves in the restaurant. You pick a couple containers of food and go to the cash to pay (accept credit cards). Food is tasty but a little overpriced for what it is (5 bucks for a small tub of kimchi) but a great option for a quick bite. Great location in Korea town.

L
Leon So

Decently quick and cheap food option. Love the variety and selection. Some things are a bit over prices, but most things are priced relatively well. Unless the food came out fresh, it is likely room temperature. I wish they had warming stations for the food. Despite there being a microwave, the containers are likely not microwave safe (no labeling on container). Can’t complain much for the price — decent food for a good price. Note that there is an 8% cash discount.

E
Each It And I

They give you an 8% discount for paying by cash, but I’m always suspicious of these tactics because I don’t know if they are up-charging to account for the abundant use of credit cards or if it’s a handy offset for most of the taxes imposed. Either way, the food is really tasty and I recommend the braised potatoes in a spicy sauce and the rice cake pasta rods. This place gets mad crowded anywhere near lunchtime.

*for vegetarian people*: not recommended. mostly has beef related stuff, or fish sauce or oyster sauce. there is only one thing that doesn’t have that according to staff (it was out of stock). food: can’t rate it. i went twice. first time i ate it thinking the stuff that says vegetable or tofu is fully veggie. it’s not. i was very sad to find out on my second visit. i neglected to ask the first time and it was my mistake. i think they need to label it better with ingredients :(( i am not allowed to have beef and i was so sad to find out most stuff has artificial beef flavoring and when we asked if thats veggie, they checked and said no :(( on our second visit, i made a mistake purchasing food first and then inquiring (honestly i only inquired bc my partner raised a concern about it otherwise i was ignorant). found out all this after purchasing, so it wasn’t only money wasted but sad i had what i am not supposed to. i highly suggest better labeling for ease! vibe/experience: nice space with good lighting and ambiance. you take what you want from the racks of prepared meals, pay, and warm them up in the microwave. it’s a cute concept. they are freshly made at the location. prices: reasonable for the portion sizes. expect to spend approximately $12-15 to be full! but the good thing is, you don’t need to spend all that if you’re not that hungry!!! service: it’s pretty much self-serve but people at the register are nice and active if you need help. i guess i would take some off here because if it’s lunch box style, i think better labels would equate to better service for me. overall, i would recommend this place for people without dietary restrictions however, definitely would not to those who are strict vegetarians (also who can’t have cow-based products). it’s a cute concept!

Sorry, I apologize. My previous review belonged to another food place.I accidentally pasted it here.I ordered kimchi fried rice and spicy sauce chicken. Thetaste is nice. The only concern is that the food is not hot. The service was quick, but it was a crowded food place. Overall , it is a good food place in the budget. Iwill visit again.

Awesome Korean food. Good price. Great concept. They offer many food items in boxes and a cooler full of drinks including Korean ones. You grab what you want and pay at the cashiers. If you want the food heated up you can use the microwave. There is table seating. #letsguide #Koreatown #kimchi

good place for a quick grab if your nearby. food is fresh for the majority and shows timestamps on shelves. however, quality can be inconsistent at times and is usually relatively crowded. ill recommend their kimchi fried rice & spicy fish cake.

K

Seating by the entrance and more in the back but cramped. Not for sitting long to eat so waited just a little to get a high table. Fast, casual. The shelves and cashiers are in the center of the space. Packed food ready to eat or heat up first- soups, sides, single food items to individual meals.Beverage section next to the cashiers. Liked the spicy tuna salad roll, and wildrice roll with crabmeat - @$5.50 each, bite-sized and tasty. Steamed fish with ginger was still warm, had it with purple rice $2.50. The white fish filet jeon was eggy, and the anchovies were too sweet. Tiny restroom available, key from the cashier.

Not a bad spot for affordable and quick Korean food! Here, they have a variety of pre-packaged Korean bites from different banchan to japchae to even Korean soups. You grab what you want to eat (and/or a drink), then pay at counter. They have plenty of seating for you to sit down at as you enjoy your food. I tried their kimbap and chicken and thought they were both solid. The kimbap was a good portion and made very well. And, the chicken was flavorful (although I wish it were so squishy/soft, but hey: what can you do about pre-packaged food). Although it was good, I would say that I would rather pay just a little bit more for fresher and higher quality items. But! Still not bad for a quick bite!

Woorijip is a fun concept: grab take-out style Korean dishes and pay for what you pick. The Korean army stew with rice was comforting and flavorful, and the egg crab meat rolls were a highlight. Great spot for quick, tasty, and affordable Korean food!

Woorijip is such a gem in Koreatown!! I used to work at a Korean restaurant owned by an older couple from Busan, and this has been the only place that I’ve had in the city that matched the taste of the Soondubu jjigae the owners would serve us. It’s a close walk from FIT’s campus and makes for a great Korean meal under $20. I only wish that the seating could be more accommodating for someone looking to spend a little bit more time.

This is a place where it serves pre-cooked and pre-packaged dishes. This restaurant serves a good selection of various Korean favorite dishes. The advantage of Woorjip is that the packages are available so very little wait to pick up to eat inside the restaurant or to go. Overall, a good place to grab and go.

You pick your own food/dish from a rack but the dishes are mostly cold and u heat it up using microwave. I prefer the fried chicken and beer place across the road instead where they have hot table to keep the food hot.

This is a good lunch spot for prepared Korean food. Everything is reasonably good for what it is, but note that this place is just this side of a cafeteria. The best dishes are generally the staples (bulgogi or kimbob), but everything is B or B- at best, still if you’re looking for a cheapish lunch in K-town this is one of your best bets.

Mei Deng

Everything I’ve had here was mid and lacked flavor. Also overpriced for what it is, but I get the appeal of the restaurant - Chicken cutlet & pan fried kimchi rice box ($12): I really liked the kimchi but thought the cutlet was just okay - Honey soy garlic chicken ($4.5 in 2023): Bland - Beef bulgogi kimbap ($10 in 2023): Bland *Note: If you pay with cash, there’s no tax

Used to be much better. Food quality is meh, and prices have gradually increased. It’s cheaper than the other places around it, but it’s not cheap as in it’s a steal. It’s only social media that’s making it out to be that way.

Interesting set up. Found tucked away in the middle of the busy k town block. If you are not looking for it you could just walk right by it. Just like ok the sidewalk, inside the store also has Very high traffic. But just like the street it moves. Streams of people browsing past a sea of to go containers on seemingly temporary mobile shelving. There is a variety of Asian food to choose from. Some familiar foods, some not. Had to sift through the containers to find something I would like. Basically, Come in, get food, sit and eat or leave. Bargain prices. Quality is as expected for only 5.50 a tempora roll and 5 for spicey string beans.

Bad The place is over crowded (it’s understandable because this place is popular) and the microwave is located just right on the enter (I want to warm my food but its so uncomfortable to stand where people keep passing by- and next to the trash can) Some food is not worth it (like the zucchini, its soft and cold) Most food is cold, but its hard to reheat for the above reason The queue is long, really really long 😭 Good The price is overall cheap for this area They have sitting place (45mins maximum- but better than none) The food is okay, there are many options to choose at least If you are at the neighborhood, can’t choose what to eat and can’t afford luxury restaurants with tips- its a nice comfy place. But I think its overhyped and the quality does not meet. The owner should do better to handle such large amount of customer like now. I will come back only during week days. I hope they can improve the microwave area 🫤

Very disappointed. Food is stale, cold, simply not tasty. I’m also quite annoyed by the fact they charge you extra, more than the 8% that’s labeled. They literally rounded up the amount that should be charged to your credit card, then refused to give me a to-go bag despite the (illegal) upcharge was much more than 5 cents. Petty and unimpressive place Edit: to the restaurant’s reply - thank you for the reply but the rounding did take place. It was 24.24 but I was charged 24.50. I’ve attached the screenshot of the charge here

I used to love this place, I would always go out of my way to stop in for a bite, especially when they had the hot buffet. The food was always hot and fresh and you could try a little bit of everything without breaking your wallet. Last couple times I’ve been it’s gone seriously downhill. The food is dried out and lacking flavor. And overpriced, for what you pay if you try to put together a balanced meal from a bunch of sides all costing $6-10 apiece, you might as well go to a proper restaurant in the neighborhood. To say nothing of all the plastic waste now created with this type of grab-n-go service. Sad, but I will not be returning.

I like the idea and there is a good variety of options but I got nauseous. This doesn't happen to me after eating out - my stomach can handle a lot. I got the gochujang chicken, and japchae with bulgogi. It was fairly good but my toilet disagreed later.

Iris Yung

Woorijip, big fan for many years but are you seriously putting ketchup, KETCHUP mixed with gochujang onto these rice cakes?!???!!! I know ketchup when I taste it and get that the economy isn't great, but I'd rather you put less gochujang or deduct another rice cake than to do this disgracefulness to the sauce. Also, what's up with the short black hair in the box?! No one in my family has short black hair.

MaChaNillas

Someone tell me why this place was so hyped? Food was tasteless. Spicy was nonexistent, even their packet hot sauce was not spicy. Their staff stare at you for asking for soy sauce and hot sauce as if you’re stealing it and then they only give you 1 of each for an order of 4 items, what a joke! I’m disappointed because having lived in NYC, Korean food was much better in this area.

Xiang Li
Xiang Li

The tofu banchan was on point. The chicken however, is sickeningly sweet and did not appeal to my rather East Asian palate. The Jajangmyeon tasted exactly as it should— cafeteria grade—as the sauce came on top of the noodle so the noodles can’t soak up the flavor of the fermented bean. This is a popular stop and eat place by groups of loud salary men, and for the poor ambience and average food, it’s not worth the price and it’s not a place I will want to visit again.

Д
Дмитрий Черняк

Been to this place many times since 2018, food was better when is was a hot/cold bar. But it’s good Korean spot with authentic taste. Customer service on the other hand is way worse, lady was pushing me out, when I wanted to wash my hands. Before buying food and drinks. I worked many years in customer service and restaurant business and I’m sure that kind of behavior, is unacceptable. I hope other staff has better social skills. Lost my appetite that night.

C

only people who don't actually know what these dishes are supposed to taste like are eating here. i have never had worse 유부초밥 (vegetable fried tofu pockets) and 오징어튀김 (fried squid) in my life. i wasn't expecting the fried squid to be crispy or anything but they were all stuck together and the batter on them was too thick. the soy based dipping sauce it came with might as well have been water with a hint of salt. the tofu pockets were difficult to finish because the tofu skin and rice were both awful. too thin and just sugary?? yubu should be vinegary. the rice also tasted like it was seasoned with sugar and nothing else and had flecks of burdock and carrot. nothing else on their menu looked authentic or worth trying - left embarrassed at myself for giving this place a shot.

I usually have good experiences with Woorjip, but today I went to go pick up food and they did not honor the posted sign at the counter (claiming that it was priced in error and did not include free rice). The staff also did not make any changes to the posted sign after it was pointed out that it was printed in error. While the price of the side dish was admittedly nominal, it didn’t sit right with me that they wouldn’t honor the price or correct the error.
