Beautiful, cozy & intimate atmosphere. Went there last night and had the tortellini pasta. It was phenomenal! Im inclined to say it was the best pasta Ive ever had.
Right from the start, this was a great experience. We didn't have a reservation but they were able to fit us in at a table on the patio. The food was great, the atmosphere was great, the servers and management were great. We will definitely be back.
Beautiful, rustic, cozy place! Service is ultra warm and professional. Food was excellent. Had the polpette and buratta ravioli. I must say I do not think it was stuffed w burrata as it tasted and appeared to be regular cheese filling but everything was delicious nonetheless! Olive oil w the bread was good! And the creme Brule cheesecake was awesome, not too sweet. Excellent experience all around. I'd give my server 10 stars if I could ✨️
What a special find. Delightful Italian restaurant with amazing food and wonderful service. Our lunch was fabulous and the meatballs appetizer was like no other meatball preparation I have ever been served - Polpette Al Caccio E Pepe - deliziosa! The location is wonderful with beautiful water views. We will be back Grazie
Tonight 8 ladies celebrated two birthdays! The night was excellent! The service at Cafe Petti was great! We had appetizers, pizza , sandwiches, and seafood dinners! Drinks too! The gelato was amazing ! I know we will visit again! Thank you Cafe Petti!!
My husband and I love this little place. The service is always spot on and the food is delicious. Outstanding lobster bisque soup and fresh pizza. 12:00 is the perfect time to relax and enjoy a cocktail - comfortable with great view. Hope you like it as much as we do.
We met friends for lunch who were heading south from New Paltz. Great place. Terrific pizzas and salads, cappuccinos and home made gelato. Beautiful space, amazing view of the Hudson, absolutely wonderful service. We will be back.
Cafe Pitti was a small place, but their food was outstanding. Service was above and beyond. We sat on their deck that was enclosed with a tent. Great view of the Hudson River. Also VERY CLEAN! Portions were adequate. I highly recommend this establishment for a good meal.
Atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. Service is impeccable. We had a veal chop there which was the best I’ve ever eaten. It seems they use the highest quality foodstuffs and ingredients. Highly recommended.
Had a great experience on a quiet Sunday night. Food and wine was great, brick oven pizza was yummy as well as the crab cakes and meatballs apps. Staff was super friendly and attentive. Will be back soon.
Cafe Pitti never disappoints!! Everything gets cooked in the wood fired ovens to perfection. 4 great meals last night - NY Strip, Red Snapper, Salmon, and a great goat cheese salad. Emma was our server and she was perfect. Highly recommend.
I took my mom here for her birthday. The atmosphere was elegant and comfortable and the food was delicious! The staff were very friendly. I’m from Westchester and I would definitely come back again!
Loved the cozy atmospher and friendly service. Food was great, highly recommended. Unlike other places, music was not too loud we could actually enjoy talking to each other.
Food and views are fabulous, the staff are incredibly kind and knowledable.
Excellent food. Attentive service. I usually don't like Italian food, but this has become one my favorite places. Would highly recommend.
Newburgh is the halfway meeting point for our family, so we have tried most waterfront restaurants... but this one wins! Hands down - the best experience. We had a lovely time with delicious food and excellent service. The menu is varied, and all the plates are made with love and care. If you want a fine dining experience with high-end, authentic Italian food, make your reservation today! So great. We can't wait to go back.
Staff was welcoming and friendly. The place is very warm and inviting. Open space with a view of the Hudson River and Beacon. This would be a great spot to visit especially during Spring, Summer and Fall to get amazing views and enjoy the good food with some friends. They have a bar and another section with additional seating.
The best way to describe this restaurant is that it’s like a warm hug. The owners Jose and Giselle have mastered the combination of great food and the best hospitality you can imagine. The menu is a beautiful combination of different types of dishes and they have a perfect wine and beer menu to match. Do not leave without ordering their gelato. This is a perfect spot to have lunch or dinner and enjoy their cozy interior.
What a hidden gem this place is! The food is incredible, freshly made, and not overly seasoned. All the food is prepped in the kitchen that is visible from the dining area. The restaurant is clean and welcoming. The service is incredible as well. We feel at home here. We come with our 11 month old and they are always so accommodating. I highly recommend this place to anyone. It has a beautiful outdoor area as well. I’ve tried some of the other restaurants on the water and they are hit or miss this place is solid every time. Thank you :)!
Beautiful place... front river view is amazing. Quiet and peaceful... Atmosphere is like a beautiful sunset. The Wood oven just makes food different and special. I came to this place 6 years ago. And now it had improved a ton . Gise, the waiter gave us an amazing experience super friendly with us, had a good attitude, and just gave a good vibe Highly recommend the Cafe Pitti one of the best.
Love the atmosphere here, feel like at a small town in Europe. We only had desert here, because I saw that they have my favorite gelato flavor-chocolate with hazelnut! We’d like to come again for dinner next time. The outside area, where there is great view, has gas heater, good for cold weather.
The restaurant is excellent. The service was great. My server was very attentive. The food was delicious and the plating was appealing. I really enjoyed their New Enhland clam chowder and the lamb chops. The vegetables were a wonderful addition to the meal. I loved the atmosphere and even the ecclectic mix of music playing while I ate. I shall return.
We came to this place after a good walk for some affogato and it was delightful and the view was breathtaking and beautiful!!! We enjoy our coffee and cheesecake!!! You have to come for yours
The atmosphere and service are top tier! The food is so delicious, it's a great place to take friends for a special dinner or go for a date night.
This was a very nice clean restaurant. The food was excellent and service was prompt and friendly. When we went it began to rain and they kindly allowed us to move tables twice and help me with my scooter( I have a broken foot). The staff was informed about the ingredients and the specials they were offering. I had the Mahi-mahi with roasted potatoes and my had rib eye with brussels sprouts. The food was the best I had in years. The view makes the best conversation topic. Thank you for your great service.

Went to another restaurant, next door, which was crowded and had a long wait. The hostess of that restaurant recommended this restaurant and said it was every bit as good as theirs. Arrived with two friends and we wanted to have a conversation while we had our lunch. The chef came to my table to verify the waitress' recommendation for my diet, as it is a very complicated diet that I normally speak with the chef by telephone when choosing the restaurant. Reading menus on the Internet is not enough to be sure I am complying with my diet. I had fish, one friend who has dental problems had their ravioli, and my other friend had their meatballs. Also, one of my friends a frozen dessert that is made in the restaurant. The ambience in the restaurant is outright beautiful and romantic. The waitstaff service was excellent. The restroom is immaculate and beautiful. I can not recommend this restaurant enough!
Such a nice addition to the neighborhood. The staff is the most welcoming and very helpful. We had a great celebration here and the food was also very good
I took the Pride of the Hudson cruise close to the restaurant. We had a cheese pizza as an appetizer, it was really good! I had gnocchi with lobster it was incredible! I had the chocolate lava cake with Gelato it was unbelievable ! It was a wonderful experience with very nice and attentive staff.
I went to Cafe Pitti for the first time a few days ago with two friends, and we were all very impressed with the food, service, atmosphere (both inside and outside). The menu has wonderful options and the staff was so friendly and attentive. A wonderful fine dining experience on the waterfront!
Great small dishes, good pizza, excellent service and wine list. Beautiful view of the Hudson river. Must try.
Fantastic! The service is top-notch — friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The waterfront setting adds a beautiful touch, and the food is fresh and tasty. A perfect spot for a relaxed yet special meal.
Best meal we've had in months. Restaurant week, so you get 3 choices app/main and dessert for $29. A bargain. I had a salad and husband had a salad with calamari, and said it was as good as what he had in Nice, France. Lunch was a steak sandwich, delic, I had a pizza, delic and apple strudel with gelato for dessert. Lovely outdoor area heated, very friendly staff, and can't wait to go back for a lobster roll. Honestly, you couldn't beat this meal or atmosphere.

Service was great and food was spectacular. Everything was very tasty and the portions were good. We had the burrata, the carpaccio di manzo, the lobster bisque and the summer mist salad with grilled shrimp. For dessert we had the chocolate lava cake. Every single dish was very delicious. Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the price. It felt a little overpriced for the amount of food we got but would still really recommend this place and will for sure be coming back.
The food was very good, the service is fantastic. A beautiful view of the river doesn't hurt either. We went for lunch and my only complaint is the cost. A piece of salmon, roasted brussel sprouts, squash and 4 strips of roasted bell pepper was $26. A little too pricey for my normal lunch budget. Would be 4 or 5 but that expense just didn't sit well with me.
Five of us met for dinner last night. Our order was taken after we all were settled by a very helpful young man. The one salad order was served in a reasonable amount of time. After that everything went down hill. Only after asking a couple of times were our meals served - about an hour later. When promised "about 7-8 more minutes" I got up to use the lady's room. When I passed the ovens I could see that the cook was just starting our order. A full half hour passed before we were served. 1 meal was missing - which was served as the rest of us finished our meals. We had ordered pannini's, foccia, and small pizzas. The food was tasty but the service from the kitchen was awful. The poor waiter did the best he could. BTW - it was a Monday evening and not busy. Customer service should be better.
I visited this restaurant for the first time to celebrate a friend’s birthday with a group of 14 people. From the moment we arrived, the service was excellent. The staff was very friendly and attentive, making the experience enjoyable. The restaurant is clean and beautifully decorated, with a cute and cozy atmosphere. Plus, its riverside location makes it even more charming. Food & Drinks When it was time to order drinks, I asked for a vodka on the rocks, but the server told me they weren’t serving alcohol yet, which was frustrating. However, they did have a great selection of wines, which was a nice alternative. As for the food, most of my friends ordered veal, which was delicious and cooked perfectly. Unfortunately, my experience was different. I ordered a Margherita pizza, and honestly, it was terrible—dry and flavorless. My husband had the fish, which was bland, tasteless, and the portion was very small. Final Thoughts 📍 A nice spot for a date, thanks to its great ambiance and location, but the food didn’t impress me. 💰 Expensive: A dinner for two can cost between $120 and $150. ✅ Outstanding service, but the food didn’t meet my expectations. I’m not sure if I would return, but if you’re looking for a restaurant with a nice atmosphere and great service, it might be worth a try.

Taste of food was excellent however for the price per entre was not worth it. No salad or bread. The Gnocci was excellent but next to no seafood in the dish. One or two small shrimp, two tiny pieces of lobster and a few strings of shredded crab meat.
8/28/24 Frutti di Mare was awful. Very minimal amount of fruit of the sea in this dish, could only find shrimp with a heavy doughy gnocchi noodle. My husband and I often order Frutti di Mare in restaurants and this was totally unlike any other restaurant. Very very pricy for this dish that was mostly gnocchi noodle. Very disappointing. Red wine was terrible. No bread. There were tiny gnats flying around table.
Very unhappy with our experience. Some of our food was ok or even good, some was not so good. Not worth what we paid at all. In addition the service was awful. They were not busy but it took over an hour for us to be served our dinner. I left feeling like we wasted money. Also note to any families going, they do not have a kids menu.
Nice atmosphere, on the water, and lovely waitress. The food just wasn't good. We had a burrata with prosciutto. Well, let's just say it wasn't Prosciutto de Palma. We asked for bread for the table, blah. Then we split a Margarita Pizza....terrible, the crust, the sauce, just not Italian. Will not return, sorry.
This was one of the first restaurants we went to as the world started opening up after the pandemic and we went with high expectations. Those expectations were immediately quashed when the unfriendly manager insisted we did not have a reservation (we did) and while they would deign to seat us, they would not seat us on the patio (where we had our reservation). We insisted and were rewarded with a spectacular view. The food was overcooked. The service was some where between incompetent and indifferent.
The restaurant was empty when we arrived at 1 p.m on a Friday, which should have signaled something to us. After ordering two pannini that require no special assembly, we waited at least 15 or 20 minutes. With the open kitchen we could see the cook was moving slowly and chatting at length with the waitress. The sandwiches arrived. My "Zola" which I've had many times before had palm hearts that were so fibrous I couldn't eat them. My son's vegetable pannino included exactly one small slice of zucchini and one small, very thin slice of eggplant. It was 90% bread. The waitress asked me if I wanted her to bring me more hearts of palm, but she didn't suggest remaking the sandwich. When she asked my son if he wanted her to box up the remainder of his sandwich and he said, "no," she didn't ask if anything was wrong. I'm guessing that this restaurant is on its way out, and the people working there are no longer concerned with good service or quality of food. P.S. My extended family have been owners and staff in several excellent restaurants. I know what I'm talking about.
I went there to have a going away dinner, made reservations so they wouldn't be surprised of the amount of people that came and be overwhelmed. I mean that didn't matter anyways we were the only ones there. First of all the services was horrendous. Whoever hires there employees need to understand that just because you have a pretty face doesn't mean your good at being a waitress. You need to be able to connect with your customers and be a people person I mean your job consists of you being around people all day it's what you should be best at since your tips rely on great service. If your having a bad day don't let it show if you hate working there then you shouldn't be working there, what ever the reason it should not show how miserable you are especially attending to your table. Put a smile on your face and be the best waitress there is. I mean taking 20min to get asked what you want to drink is unacceptable and then waiting another 20 to receive it was worst. I swear I spent almost 4 unnecessary hours there waiting for everything, I just wanted it to be over. Maybe because of the service the food wasn't so appealing but no one ate there plates so I doubt it. Food had no taste what so ever if you like olive oil and nothing else then that's your place.
Food was great but service was awful. We had to flag a waitress down to place our order after sitting there 30 minutes. Even when we asked for the check, we were waiting and waiting and had to flag a waitress down again to ask where it was after about 10 minutes. Just a piece of paper, not food. They werent even apologetic nor seemingly aware of how slow everything was. Horrendous service, bottom line.
This place was terrible! I had a gift certificate and they wouldn't honor it. I guess ownership had changed a couple months ago but the name didn't change. The menu has changed for the worse. The person I was with had a Cuban sandwich but had to pull all the grizzly meat out to trim it. I ordered a shrimp salad that was poorly described on the menu. It made it sound like a salad with shrimp and avocado. Turned out to be a small scoop of shrimp salad in a avocado. The food was nothing to write home about, very overpriced and bad service.
This is the worst oven pizza my family and I have ever experienced. Not only is it the worst pizza, but the host who makes the pizza. He’s unprofessional and not friendly at all. He doesn’t sanitize his hands before preparing the personal pie that cost $16.22. Yes $16.22!! Don’t waste your time!!!
Wow, I dont even know where to start. I went there to see if they had any desserts I can pick up. Lady at the front showed me their fridge with not much selection. Ok no problem. Ill take a slice of the tiramusu cake. By the way it was $9. Again not a problem. Then I see her cutting off about 1 inch of my slice. I asked her why is she cutting it. Her answer was thats what we always do. Weird. Asked her what does she do with a 1 inch thick slice of cake. She had no answer. I asked again and she said we give it to our workers. Wth, im paying almost $10 for a slice of cake and you cut off a piece to give to your employees. I was completely shocked. I said I want my full slice cause im paying for it. She gave me a disgusting attitude for asking for my 1 inch piece of cake. Idk but this has never happened to me. I would recommend you not go to this place. If they are trying to skim you off of a slice of cake, im sure they are doing it to regular food orders.
This was the worst treatment I’ve ever experienced in a restaurant in my entire life. The waitress forgot to put our order in, and we sat for over an hour before they realized, then brought out the wrong food. When informed of her mistake, the waitress got super defensive and rude and blamed all of her errors on us. She continued to fight us for about 10 minutes on what time we came in, when we put our order in, her mishearing the pasta dish we ordered, etc., instead of taking accountability and just apologizing. As a disabled person, I cannot sit on a metal and wood-slatted chair for over two hours, and there was no compassion or apology for that either—nor did she comp us a single item for our awful experience. She did, however, steal or throw out the sweater I accidentally left there and went back for the next day, only to be greeted by a male employee or manager who was just as rude and dismissive as the waitress. Please do not waste your money here on subpar Italian food and horrendous attitudes and treatment. They should be ashamed of themselves.
Went on a double date - all 4 of us ended up sick through the night. Interestingly a coworker said the same thing happened to her there recently. The Italian sounding guy who works there was super rude on the phone when I called to just let them know. I wasn’t even asking for a refund.
