Found this whole in the wall with my fiancée and we really enjoyed it for lunch. We had pad thai and yellow curry , spicy eggplant and chicken , very delicious and the prices were great with the lunch special. Server was friendly and gave good service. 👍
Personally enjoy the all smiles service, and the plates are served well with tons of flavor. Prices are a little high to go there every week for a peasant such as I, but well worth the dish's flavors.
We had the Spicy Eggplant with Chicken and the Pad Kee Moa with Shrimp (spicy level requested). They were excellent. Very friendly hostess . We will be back.
Great cozy family owned restaurants, and I have not had anything I don't like or enjoy. The plants are beautiful and the service is first class and quick.
The lunch Pad Thai was great.
The soup is so good.
Best Thai food around. I love their pad Thai and egg rolls. I'm a vegetarian, and love that you can get any dish with tofu or vegetables. I've always had really great service
I usually order take out so I can't comment on atmosphere. But the food is outstanding!!! I recommend the sizzling hot plate!!! So delicious!!!
Yummy food. Superb service. We really enjoyed this place and the dishes were great, especially the curried!
My go-to for Thai. They can be hit or miss, but the miss is still better than most places around. Small, cute, and clean, and the staff is very friendly and helpful.
Exotic Thai is my favorite Thai food place around. I enjoy everything I get - sizzling plate with chicken is like having chicken satay with tons of vegetables and rice... Soooo yummy! Their pad Thai is great... Shrimp pad Thai doesn't have much shrimp though. I have also had their rad na, sweet and sour chicken, crab rangoons/wantons, spring rolls, soups, and mango sticky rice. All so good!!! Their Thai iced tea is bomb. And the little restaurant is also nice atmosphere with good service. I've had dine-in, and take out. I've had their lunch menu and dinner menu. Everything is so delicious.
Great local Thai restaurant best I have had! Waitress “B” and staff are amazing. Cool vibe, outside seating too. next to pickles and Sharky’s, easy on and off freeway Large Free Parking
Wow the very best in the thousand oaks area. Yummy. They even offered bowls for our pickup. Lovely people. And Freshness is outstanding
This particular Exotic Thai Cafe has 2 different lunch special menus, but this one is my favorite of the two. You get 2 entree-type choices as well as rice. Delicious. Highly recommend for lunch eat-in.
I really loved this place! Atmosphere and staff are very friendly and helpful! Food is great!
We went for lunch….food was delicious, service was awesome! The yellow curry was so tasty! Great authentic atmosphere….Highly recommend!

We enjoyed Asparagus and snow peas a la carte. It,'s made with chicken and shrimp. Or you could have it vegetarian style or select your choice of protein. And, we had Pad Thai with tofu. A popular dish ...made with thin rice noodles, egg, onions, bean sprouts and crushed peanuts. Made with chicken and shrimp, or you can order it vegetarian-style or with your choice of protein. No MSG. Then, we enjoyed a desert... Sweet sticky rice with mango's. Delicious together. The rice is cooked warm coconut 🥥 to enjoy together with the cut-up pieces of mango's. Yum💚🥭

Best and most flavorful spicy eggplant with chicken dish in town - we always order it with extra eggplant because they know how to cook it to perfection! Yummy pad thai and spring rolls. Great selecrion of Boba tea drinks. Serving sizes on all their dishes is perfect - we’ve ordered for straight pick-up/take out and we enjoy dining in, and their serving sizes are consistent👌🏽 We love how they decorate the restaurant for every holiday and season - always festive ans fun, and their indoor collection of plants really add to the exotic oasis atmosphere. Servers are attentive and there’s never a delay. Great local place for excellent Thai dishes!
We took our family visiting from North Carolina to the restaurant exotic Thai. They like Thai food and found it to be as good if not better than the one they had in Wilmington, North Carolina. Personally, the food is great. Service is wonderful in the atmosphere is just right.
We have tried Chicken Dumpling, Tom Yum Soup ( shrimp and chicken), Fried noodles with chicken - all items are well prepared and value for money. Ambience is ordinary and nothing fancy. Service is prompt. Highly recommended. Specially for above food items, you will never go wrong.
highly recommend this place!!!! food was amazing! i ordered spicy fried rice with chicken and was very very good!!🫶🏻❤️
Food is so good here! I especially enjoy their lunch special. I get the chicken curry lunch combo for $12. It comes with a half order of their chicken curry, your choice of steamed, brown, or purple rice, a garden salad with ginger or peanut dressing, and one egg roll. It's a really good deal and filling too! My order was ready in less than 10 minutes. I usually come here for take out, and I've only dined here once. The staff is friendly and I've never had an issue with the service or the food. Highly recommend if you're craving some good Thai food!
Sat outside near the fountain, dog offered water by the server and the yellow curry with purple rice lunch special was just right! Great service!
Great little nook for yummy Thai food! We tried the glass noodle soup (large) and it is full of delicious chicken and vegetables. Just enough white pepper to bite, but mild enough for a sensitive stomach. We also ordered the lunch special pad thai and sweet and sour chicken, and the portion is huge! Taking plenty home for another time, which makes this a great value.
I have been coming here for the last 10 years or so and have never had a bad experience. I come with my elderly grandfather who is often rude and impatient. The server at exotic Thai is always so kind and patient. She is one of the best servers I have ever had in my life. She is the tall, skinny one. One of my all time favorite restaurants just because of the consistency over the years. Garden spring rolls and pad thai so good.
We ordered enough takeout for two days of meals and our experience was excellent. Mongolian beef, pad Thai, vegetables with shrimp, spicy green beans. Everything was fresh an delicious! Packed up beautifully and with care taken. Even the coconut ice cream was packed on ice. We’ll definitely be ordering more.

Service was good. No free refill on soda they give cans but free refill on Arnold Palmer. Food was ok got 1- steamed dumplings for appetizer they were ok I prefer pan fried 2- wonton soup with bbq pork was good but not much pork. 3- satay chicken so good loved it 4- bbq pork and chicken pineapple fried rice best part of the meal Only reason not 5 star was the soda not having refills
Good Thai food made fresh, and Good prompt Customer service (ask for Ms. Apple or Ms. Bee). To-go order made on time accurately. Menu has Good variety too. Reasonably priced.
Been coming here for years. Part of the local Exotic Thai chain now individually run & owned by each of the partners. I've eaten at all of them & while the menu is very similar this one is just a cut above the others. Small place in a small mall near Starbucks & Sharkys with friendly, welcoming staff. The Conejo Valley has a number of good Thai restaurants and this place sits up there among that group. Try the tom yum noodle soup. It's a standout. You can order it all day here whereas it's only available during the lunch menu at the other Exotic Thai branches. The garden salad here is really crispy & fresh with a nice sweetness from the peanut sauce dressing. The mixed vegetables here with shrimp is excellent. I keep trying to find somewhere in Thai Town that makes this dish as good as they make it here & never found anyone that comes close. Have them stir-fry in some fresh serranos for a flavorful kick.
The family loves it. Best Pad Thai in town. My son loves the chicken satay skewers. The Pad Kee Mao (Drunken Noodles) is my favorite. Very friendly staff.
I passed this restaurant by many times and thought I would give it a try. Had their Larb and Pad woon sen. It was really good. Restaurant had a nice ambience and servers were attentive and helpful. You wouldn’t know it, just looking from the outside. I think the local community knows about this place as it was quite packed for lunch.
Since almost everything I have had here was sweet, I am not a big fan of this place. However, the place is really clean and they have pretty cool lunch options with purple rice with an added $1 maybe, which is pretty good. You have good tea options too like ginger, Jasmine etc which they serve in a kettle. Overall very cool if you have a party of 5 or so, since you can collectively order and not have to deal with the 'sweet' pad Thai alone. 😉
I just picked up a yellow tofu curry to go. It was over $18 with no rice. Only had potato and tofu in it… Definitely OVER PRICED

I have been coming to Exotic Thai for over 15 years. I am disappointed to say the food is not as good as then and just gets worse. The Green curry shrimp was thin and watery ( like a soup ) and not so tasty.
Excellent pineapple shrimp Curry! The brown rice was prepared well. Everyone in my party enjoyed their meals. ... Wow did this place change. Ordered curry takeout and they gave me no rice. I called and they said "new owner, we don't provide rice with curry". Come on! Also, they had no option in the app I used to order to purchase rice with curry. To top it off, the curry was nearly tasteless. New ownership is not good for this place. 😕
Oue recent experience reminded me why I dont spend my own money here and i love Thai food, just not this place. We received a gift card so decided to get takeout. We ended up spending $80+ $10 tip for takeout. What you see in the photo is what cost $80. Absolutely regret tipping because whoever packed it put the Garden Spring rolls on top of all the hot curry and ribs. They are meant to be served cold. So we tipped them to make bad food even worse. The curry is flavorless and overpriced at $17/ea. We had yellow and green. Both with a miniscule portion of chicken. Probably less than 2oz per order. Even with three entree orders we only got 1 serving of rice. Ended up having to make our own rice at home. We wont return. Even if I ever get another gift card here ill just re-gift it to someone i don't like.

The food is good but the service is absolutely terrible they are never at the front desk and even when they are open, they refused service for who knows what reason she just shook her hand and waved me away. Don’t know why but just rude
I wish there was a zero star option for this scamming restaurant. I went to this Newbury Park location Exotic Thai Cafe for lunch, by myself and they tried to scam and upcharge me. Rude server seats me at a table of 4 but 2 other people were already seated. When I was trying to place my order she tells me higher prices for items listed on the menu at a lower price. Ridiculous service. Worst experience ever.
On the positive side, nice decor and the only Thai place in Newbury Park. The problem with our service, however, was so bad we will not return. We ordered common items, waited a long time for water, an extra long time for our food, and when it arrived, they gave my wife chicken rather than tofu. When I pointed that out, they took my plate to the back, picked off the chicken, and replaced it with tofu, and brought it back cold. :( And no apologies for such a long wait.
The service was bad. Ordered seafood and tasted awful and smelled rotten. Told the waitress about it and she brushed off and charged for it. Four of us got food poisoning from the Seafood fried rice. Will not recommend any of their seafood plates.
I ordered online. When I came to pick it up there was one person in front of me. 25 minutes later I got my item that was sitting on the front desk nice and cold. Guy at the register saw me, made eye contact, and then turned around and went into the kitchen/back for a solid 5 minutes. I'll go the one in Thousand Oaks on T.O. Blvd instead.
Ordered vegetarian item if rice noodles and did mention to server who first served us vegetarian and no egg meat etc. The noodles were served with some eggs. Did mention to second server the lady behind the desk and a cold sorry. No offer to take it off the bill. Not going there again a I offer to replace it
Lady at the counter was very aggressive and pushy regarding a tip. Quite off putting and spoilt the experience completely. Especially when the base price of menu is already quite overpriced
I've been coming to this place for 6 years and never had an issue with them until yesterday. My family ordered three plates of fried rice seafood. The squid was rotten and smelled awful. We asked the waitress to take off one of the plates off our check, because the food smelled disgusting. They did not want to and both waitresses were extremely rude to my mother. My mother did not eat her plate and did not touch it at at all. The waitress kept arguing with my mother, accusing that there was no rice on the plate when there was a full plate of food there. It was the worst customer service I've ever received there. I'm not ever coming back. I don't reccomend anyone eating here. My whole family got sick after eating here and we currently are still sick... I would give this place a 0 rating if I could!
The restaurant delivered last nights leftover food. Everything except one item tasted weird. The restaurant did not follow instructions. Instead of adding egg into the noodle, they fried it and placed it on the side. None of the items had salt in it except appetizers. Also, this is not authentic Thai food. The reviews on Doordash are not real.
Got delivery thru Grubhub. Food tastes okay, but there’re a few things I’m really not happy about… 1. I noted for Medium spiciness for both dishes. They both turn out to be not spicy except for the jalapeños in there, which are way TOO spicy when you eat it, but everything else not spicy. I was not expecting that. 2. Both dishes have vegetables, but they’re so hard and raw. I think they are barely cooked. 3. Like I said both dishes are supposed to have vegetables and no meats. But in one of them, I ate a piece of shrimp shell. Would not be good for someone who has seafood allergy. :(
Mixed feelings about this visit; Service was lacking and my understanding is it was intentional, and for that there is simply no excuse. So despite the quality food and atmosphere, service and overall rating will stand at 1 out of 5.
When I feel like curry for dinner, I go to Exotic Thai. Preferably the location off Kanan Road/Lindero Canyon though. This location, while much closer to home, has much lower quality standards. At my most recent visit, I was served Tom Ka Gai with a chunk of ginger as big as my thumb, and the potatoes in my Karee Gai were undercooked and could have done with being sliced in half. The curry itself was unusually thin as well. My Pad Thai was a bit soggy (still reasonable though). My Pineapple Fried Rice had only a single shrimp. When I placed my order, the employee taking it kept trying to predict what I was saying (out loud) and thus I had to correct her three times. Hopefully they correct course in the future, but they should definitely take notes from the excellent quality and service of the Kanan/Lindero location. EDIT: I've come back twice since my initial review, and they have gotten worse. Ordered the pineapple fried rice, received it BURNT. Their prices are absurd enough on their own, but compound that with 0% QA and you've got nothing but a recipe for disaster. Sorry, y'all lost my business, and referrals, for good now.

We ordered drunken noodles, it was greasy and missing the flavor dish supposed to have. The quantity was not good either, not the typical american thai portions. Order was takeout. It had jalapenos for spice and no other flavour. Loved sab e lee in San Diego, i guess you cant find that authentic thai in TO. Tried the same in thai peruvian in Camarillo it was little better than this. Just stir fried vegetables and rice noodles.
