The food and drinks here are delicious. We had a variety of seafood which was all very tasty. I ordered the scallops that were perfect! And that view during the day or going into the sunset is breathtaking.

We were celebrating my daughter’s college graduation. Our party of 7 included my 4 year old, we arrived and first great experience was the friendliness of the valet attendants, right away opened the door for my wife and kids as well as for me and guided us in the right direction to the restaurant. Since the restaurant is in the “Balboa Bay Resort” we walk into the lobby to be greeted with a smile by concierge desk which also were kind enough to continue guiding us to the restaurant. Once at the restaurant our host Josh was amazing offered either inside or patio seating, we chose patio which has fire pit and amazing marina yacht views. Our server Patrick took really good care of us from start to finish. Our appetizers clam chowder, crab dip, and our main dishes were Chilean Sea Bass, Pasta, Sandwich, and chicken tenders for my little one. Food was delicious and plentiful. Overall will be coming back and recommending it to my friends and family. Thank you

Recently had brunch with a party of six. Two people ran about 45 min behind, but our server was patient and kept our drinks poured and appetizers coming till they arrived. For appetizers, we had two different chicken wing flavors, and both were so delicious! One was a garlic flavor and the other was a sweet & spicy Asian inspired flavor. I'd definitely come back just for the wings, except that everything else we got was delicious as well! I ordered chicken & waffles and let me tell you how amazing this dish was! It was so beautifully presented with so many different flavors and textures in a larhe wooden board! I was so happy with my choice! Everything on my board was absolutely delicious and so creative! It was a work of culinary art! My husband ordered a burger, which he raved about. Everyone else ordered a variety of dishes, which they were also very pleased with. The servers were extremely professional, courteous and attentive. We can't wait to come back for more enjoyable meals! The atmosphere was peaceful and family-oriented. There were no rowdy drunk brunch crowds at all. Everyone in there were friendky country loving patriots. ❤️ 🇺🇸

The view of the yachts and bay is amazing while eating my free range chicken wings. I also tried their striped bass entree and it was excellent. The Caesar salad was good, a dryer salad with not much dressing but it worked well. The macaroni was great with bits of bacon. Just fyi, it’s at a hotel so Parking is mainly valet. Overall the spot is a great spot to take a date or your parents. Yolo

It's a very cozy and pleasant place with friendly service. The food is also really good. If you decide to have a delicious lunch on a Sunday afternoon, you won't find a better place. I recommend it with a calm heart. You will love it.

Visited on a Tuesday afternoon for a birthday celebration. It was a little chilly outside but they have heaters. This is perfect option for a summer day to enjoy the Marina. I had the Mac and cheese which was outstanding. The hamburger was also good. But the Mac and 🧀 again was very cheesy and very good you have to try it 😋

I've been to A+O Restaurant | Bar a few times now and I've always had a great experience. The food is a little bland but still delicious, the service is excellent, and the atmosphere is very inviting. I recently went there for dinner with a friend and we all ordered different things. I had the Strawberry Summer Salad, with the request to make it vegan. The salad was fresh and flavorful, but I did find it a little bland. I would recommend asking for a few different dressings to try to make it more exciting. My friend ordered the Ceviche, and enjoyed the raw fish cured in fresh citrus juices, and thought the seasonings, julienned red onions, salt, and cilantro were perfect to her liking. Here are some things about A+O : The food is delicious, The service is excellent and friendly The atmosphere is very inviting and well-maintained The views are beautiful and relaxing Live music that is fantastic and not over-powering Overall, I had a great time at A+O Restaurant | Bar and I would definitely recommend it to others.

This place is amazing came here late in the evening. Met a couple of the bartenders; most awesome people there. Theres a nice fireplace outside. Food is really good. I ordered the burger and fries. 10/10 bartenders and food.

We had a great Christmas evening experience at the A&O Bar. Amber, our bartender and other staff took very good care of us. A&O is in the Balboa Bay Resort which has beautiful views of the Bay from its floor to ceiling windows. We started with the fresh baked focaccia which was accompanied by olive tapenade, house made ricotta, honey, lemon oil, & salt. Next we moved on to the delicious perfectly prepared A&O burger and a side of sauteed broccolini. Ever dish was perfectly prepared. A great restaurant to dine at in the Newport Beach/Balboa area.

During our recent stay at The Balboa Bay Resort, we dined several times at their in-house restaurant A+O. We usually shy away from hotel & resort restaurants, as the quality of the ingredients & the selection of entrees do not rise to the level of local standalone restaurants. That was not the case with A+O. We were pleasantly surprised by the variety of dishes offered and the freshness of the ingredients. Our server each night, just by chance, was Jose. He knows how to please a customer. His service was impeccable. Kudos to Jose & the A+O chefs for excelling at their craft.

My server was so slow. Took 2 hours to have dinner. I ordered scallops. I got to my second one and thought oh my word this is bitter! Eventually found the server and let them know my scallop was burnt black. Getting service was really hard.

We have recently purchased a home in the Newport Beach area, and have been checking out the local restaurants. We decided to try this one because the photos of the Marina view patio looked very coastal, and inviting. We had a reservation for 5:30 PM, and showed up at 5:25 PM. We checked in with the hostess. When I had booked the reservation, I had noted that we’d like a table on the patio, if possible. The hostess was going to seat us in the main restaurant as she said there was no space on the patio - which was fine. She then determined that a patio table just opened up, and they would just clean it off for us. Great! So, we waited…and waited… We watched other people get seated ahead of us… and waited some more. Around 25 minutes later, the hostess finally brought us to a table on the patio. I mentioned to her as she was seating us, that I wished she’d told us it was going to be a 25 minute wait, as we’d have been happier to just sit in the main restaurant. She apologized, said she wasn’t sure how long it would take to get the table ready for us. Anyway, very nice patio…fire tables, and vibrant. It was a slightly chilly evening, and there was a heater above us. We asked a young man in a suit (manager?) if he could light it for us, and he did. Within one minute, it stopped working. 😒 We then waited… and waited some more … No server appeared …anywhere. We looked over at the group that had been seated 15 minutes before us, and we could see that they were all looking miserable, and had not been served more than a glass of water yet. This was not the experience we had hoped for. We knew, just based on how it was already going, that they were very clearly either understaffed or completely disorganized or both. Who knows how long it would take to place an order for a drink, never mind to actually get food. We decided to cut our losses, and just left. Very disappointing.

I’m so over this place. Used to live to here for a drink and burger. Was a nice place to relax. Surprisingly they jacked the valet rate from $6 to $25. Also the price for shot size glass of a black label scotch is $25. The lost my consistent dining business forever.
