Solo traveler. Stopped in for an early dinner and surprised by an awesome Happy Hour menu. Clam chowder was awesome even if not in a bread bowl. Shrimp cocktail was fresh and flavorful, and the crispy fish tacos were amazing and plated beautifully! This is a fun atmosphere with covered outdoor dining. I visited at Christmas time and this was the most festive business which reflects the mood inside! I wish I could go back to try more 🦞! Thanks for a great dinner Woody's! ❤️❤️❤️🔥🔥🔥
We went on Taco Tuesday at happy hour, which meant that there were some really good specials for food and drinks. The staff were upbeat and positive, enjoyable to talk to. Everything was good. We tried a lot and everything was a win. The scaliwag Shrimp tacos had bacon and breaded shrimp on them. How the taco was assembled was a new combo for me. I really liked it and would definitely get them again. I like the vibe of the place. It has a timeless local vibe. Like it has been there for a long time. It matches the views of the ships outside your window. You'll see a new yacht, but right next to it is an old fishing charter. I recommend giving it a shot.
Let me start with the obvious: Anyone who knows me knows I do not like Newport Beach. Or the OC. At all. Newport, Newport Coast… the whole scene is just not my vibe. But Woody’s Wharf? I will cross county lines for this brunch. Happily. Repeatedly. Sometimes we even make a whole staycation out of it — book the Marriott up the street, walk down to the marina, and let the day drift by. This time we only drove in for their holiday brunch, and let me tell you: it was absolutely worth the trip. First of all: Bottomless brunch means bottomless — and get this — it’s FREE with any brunch entrée. No fine print, no two-hour limit, no weird restrictions. Literally bottomless until 3:30 PM. You can sip, socialize, reset, and go right back for another round. It’s a rare thing these days for restaurants to actually stand behind the word bottomless, but Woody’s does. The service is always top tier, too. We usually request Peter because he is consistently phenomenal — friendly, attentive, and somehow manages to keep the drinks flowing even during peak rush. The whole team just gets it. And then, of course… my obsession with boats. Sitting at the marina with the sun hitting the water, watching boats glide by while you enjoy brunch? It’s exactly the kind of coastal moment that feels like a tiny vacation, even if you’re only there for a few hours. So here it is, my honest truth: I don’t like Newport — but I love Woody’s Wharf. It’s the one place down here that has earned a permanent spot in my rotation, and if I’m willing to drive (or stay overnight!) for it? You absolutely should too.
Here’s a 200+ character review for Woody’s Wharf: We had a good experience at Woody’s Wharf overall. The food was enjoyable and well prepared, and the portions were satisfying. Service was okay and the atmosphere felt relaxed and casual. What really stood out was the great waterfront view, which made the visit much more enjoyable. Overall, it was a nice place to sit, eat, and enjoy the scenery.
Came in for a company party. My first time stopping in. Great food very fast friendly service all staff was on point. Great atmosphere they had karaoke going that night fun place to eat and socialize. Fish and chips were amazing same with the shrimp and pasta.
Great experience for lunch. Blackened mahi sandwich was out of this world! Excellent service. Great views. Mai Tai was made proper! Highly recommend.
Wonderful food, location, and the staff is superior. I always enjoy eating here. Great parking for my boat as well.
The food was good and the bartender made sure I got a good table twice, I really appreciated that. They also got a really good happy hour
If you’re a martini lover, this place is an absolute gem! Their martinis are perfectly crafted with just the right balance of flavor and sophistication. Whether you prefer a classic dry martini, a smooth vodka variation, or something with a creative twist, they have something to satisfy every palate. Definitely one of the best spots for martinis—highly recommended!

Everything was excellent! Good prices, great bartender & servers. I highly recommend for a chill experience.

We had a great experience here at Woody's Wharf. Our server, Micah was witty, helpful, friendly and made sure everything was smooth. We had the first and chips as well as the Ribeye steak and it reminded me of the time I visited the UK back in the 90's. Definitely recommend based on food, service, atmosphere.

Got the prime rib sandwich. Awesome!. Great views allowed. My friendly service dog in also. Also on Mondays it's Martini Mondays. Good drink specials.
I was having a rough day and decided to drive from Corona to the beach with my wife. We ended up finding Woody's Warf after the sunset and the vibes were perfect. To be honest, we drove by and the scent that was coming from that place was all we needed. The hostess was welcoming. The vibes were cool and the food was way above expectations. Ive had fish and chips in several states and countries and this one was 5 stars. My wife got the clam chowder in the bread bowl and that was superb. We're definitely coming back.
Wife and I dined at Woody's four times during our three night stay on the peninsula this week. Service was great, including Michelle, who took care of us this morning before returning home. Menus offer a variety of apps, entrees and a happy hour selection that included a tasty clam chowder and superb wings. Wife's favorite were the fish n chips and the double smash cheese burger I had for dinner was outstanding. Enjoyed a nice view of the bay and plenty of TVs to watch the games on. I highly recommend experiencing Woody's on your next trip to Newport Beach, cheers.
Woody's is the kind of place that you walk into and instantly feel welcome. Bridget, one of the bartenders, is attentive and incredibly nice. She treats everyone like she has known them forever. For food, I had their delicious clam chowder - two days in a row! I make it a point to visit Woody's whenever I go to Newport!

10/10 in every way possible. Our family of 11 had dinner there last night and received the best service, enjoyed the most delicious food, all with the best view. Everyone shared bites from their plates and it was all incredible. Most of all, they treated our family so well, we’re so grateful for the experience they gave us.
Really cool place, the view is probably one of the best I’ve seen in the whole country, if you like the view of the water and the boats. The food was good, the server was friendly. Glad we went here just for the view and the wood plank flooring kind of felt like home where I grew up. Good experience, Newport Beach overall was a really great tourist location.
Food was good, large portions. Service was a bit slow, however it was very busy. The hostess was not too friendly, she seemed annoyed that we had a larger party

Free Dock available to use for dinning. Steak salad was excellent. Patio seating available for dining. View of the harbor.
Wow this place has it all with its most beautiful environment and views that surprises even the lobsters!! The service was very helpful and friendly with servers that acted like they owned the restaurant. Hats off to them!! Now the food was extremely fresh and very tasty!! Very delicious delicious. The place is kept pretty clean and even the restrooms..... hats off for that as well!! I shall be back with a greater appetite. I recommend this place!!
Woody's Wharf is a nice informal little restaurant on New Port Blvd in Newport Beach. It has a nice view of the channel which is fun to watch while waiting for your meal. The food is good. We had the fish & chips in addition to a French fries w/ carnitas, 2 types of cheese & guacamole, top with an Sunnyside up egg. It is a massive amount of food which could easily feed a party of 4 as an appetizer. The staff was nice & helpful. Overall, a good choice for a restaurant.
Fun spot. Good Happy Hour. $6 Margarita til 6 p.m.! Delicious Japeleno chips! Friendly service. Pick a table out on the covered deck and enjoy watching the rowers, etc !
We visited on a cold Taco Tuesday, thus it was too cold to sit outside and too noisy with the karaoke going. Taco Tuesday menu has great prices, but limited selections. Food was in good portion. I will try again on a warmer day when I can sit outside overlooking the lagoon and enjoy my meal.
Great location with a nice view. They have a private lot. The restaurant is a bit aged with a cozy ambiance. Seems to be more suitable for drinks while watching a game. They have plenty of indoor seating with large windows to see the marina outside. There's a nice cozy fireplace. There's bar seating as well as a couple of booth seating. Service is very friendly and welcoming. The menu has lots of options. Sadly almost everything we ordered was waaay over salty. Perhaps to get you to order more drinks. Prices are a bit high, imo, given that it was too salty. I would recommend this place if you enjoy ordering some appetizers and some drinks while watching a game. Excellent friendly service
Positives: was craving a Clam chowder bread bowl & it was delish, definitely hit the spot. Bang bang shrimp was my favorite! Highly recommend!!! Easy parking. Okay atmosphere. Heaters outside was a great touch. Negatives: My lovers food came out so slowwwwww… & he got 2 happy hour appetizers! Puzzling as they were not super busy or even slightly busy… they also delivered food to our table that we didn’t order … waitress didn’t really come to check in too often not that we needed anything but still. would love to give it another shot some day. maybe during the daytime .. hopefully it’ll be a different experience.

Went for the seafood. Food was served cool. Not even warm. Bummer. Scenery was amazing, right on the dock.
Our server/bartender was the best and took care of us and was super friendly. We ordered 2 lobster dishes that did not impress though and were overcooked and dry. Other dishes was just ok and it felt very overpriced. We ordered a $9 calamari dish that was only a handful of very dry overcooked calamari. Location was good though and had lots of parking. Place had a lively vibe may be because it was karaoke night.
Cool place nice view … but the food is not good.. its really not seasoned at all and fries are soggy and the food is basically all baked no flavor :/ I couldn’t even eat half my steak I had 3 bites and I was done… Oreo cheesecake taste like mildew… the desserts aren’t good - RECOMMEND BIRRIA TACOS & BURGER SLIDERS MASHED POTATOES pretty ok
