Opinions de Dosa Hut Niagara Falls
Loved the food here, and the service was great. We really enjoyed it. Wish we weren't just on vacation here, so we could eat there all the time.
Had an amazing experience at Dosa Hut with my husband today! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm hospitality, especially by Ravi, who made sure we were well taken care of. The ambiance was cozy and calm—perfect for a relaxed meal. Now, the food! Everything was absolutely delicious. The fried idli was bursting with flavor, and the aroma dosa literally melted in my mouth. The chole bhature served with chickpeas, was divine. Each dish was incredibly fresh, with aromatic spices that made every bite a delight. The masala lemonade was a refreshing touch to complement the meal. Honestly, every dish was spot-on, and the quality of food really stood out. 10/10, no complaints at all! Highly recommend this place, and we'll definitely be back. Really highly appreciate it!!! there's convenient parking at the back, making it super easy to get to!
This is our favorite go-to place for dinner everytime we come to Niagara Falls. Whether its North Indian or South Indian, both cuisines are absolutely fantastic! We have tried going to other restaurants, but no one comes near to this one- especially because it is 100% vegetarian. The service, taste, quantity and quality is amazing! I wish I could give more stars!
A Must-Visit for Dosa Lovers! I finally found the authentic dosa taste I’ve been searching for. If you’re craving Indian food in Niagara, this place is perfect to satisfy your taste buds. They have every option, including Jain dosa and Swaminarayan dosa. The ambiance is cozy, though it can get a bit noisy when it’s full. The staff is incredibly friendly and cooperative. This might be a new spot, so let’s support this business and help it grow. There are very few places that offer the taste you love like this one does. Limited spots for parking but it's free.
To be honest, I had no idea what Dosa even was before trying it for the first time tonight with my friends from India. They help me to explore food from their own culture and I love it. I had the Paneer Dosa and it tasted awesome. Aloo Tiki was my appetizer which I’ve had before but it was really really good here. I was confused as to why I wasn’t given any silverware but my friends explained it’s customary to use your hand and pull it apart and dip so I just washed my hands and went for it. I really enjoyed the food and I’ll for sure go back again! Parking is a bit hidden between the building but it was also provided behind store. Neelam served us and she was a kind woman.
Prompt and efficient service. Food came quickly - hot and fresh dosa (yum!). The green pepper dosa was quite salty but the masala dosa was well balanced. 🔔 Perhaps it was nearing their closing time, I felt rushed to order and then to pay (there was still a big table where their food hasn’t even come out so it’s not like we were the last table or anything that we were holding back).
Visited Royal Dosa Hut and was pretty impressed by the food. The Aloo Paratha and Gobhi Paratha were on point—flavorful and authentic. However, the service left much to be desired. There was a sign at the counter offering a free dish for posting a review, but even after asking multiple times, it felt like pulling teeth to actually get it. Definitely room for improvement in the service department. Would come back for the food, but they need to step up their game when it comes to customer service.
A Shady Experience with Hidden Fees – Avoid This Place! My family and I visited this restaurant last week, and while the food was passable, the billing process was an absolute nightmare. The server didn't even bother to present our bill; instead, she just asked if I was paying with credit or debit. After I confirmed credit, she handed me the payment machine with a charge of $108. However, after I paid, my card was actually charged $111. I immediately asked for an itemized bill, but she only gave me the payment receipt. It wasn't until I insisted on seeing the detailed breakdown that she finally went to her POS system and printed it. To my shock, the actual bill was $98, and with taxes, it came to $105. When I asked why I was charged $111, she casually informed me that the extra amount was for credit card fees. This was infuriating! There was absolutely no mention of these fees beforehand, nor were there any signs posted anywhere to inform customers. To spring a 5% credit card fee on someone without warning is nothing short of a rip-off. It's predatory business practice, and it's no wonder the place was practically empty when we were there. The service was also incredibly slow, and despite my usual practice of tipping in cash, this experience left such a sour taste that I didn't feel she deserved a tip. I strongly advise everyone to avoid this establishment; their business practices are incredibly fishy, and they clearly prioritize squeezing extra money out of customers over transparency and good service.
We went this morning. Dosa weren't as per our expectations. Sambhar didn't had any taste. Masala Dosa stuffing was bland. Red chutney was spoiled and smelling bad. The only thing we like was filter coffee and service of the lady and of course there was parking facility back side of the restaurant. Disappointed ☹️
BEWARE ! RED FLAG!! This was our worst dine in experience ever in Canada. We ordered rava masala dosa and asked to make it crispy. After waiting for 40 mins we received a scrambled dosa and when asked why is it like this. The manager replied in a very rude way and didn’t accept that it was the fault of a restaurant. He kept insisting that as we ordered crispy and crispy dosa is like this. We didn’t eat anything here after this. Just horrible, mood spoiler and a Must Avoid ! ***Any review with more than 1 star (as 1 star is the lowest, doesnt allow 0 stars) for this place cannot be organic and must have been paid for.
Had Menduvada, Mysore Masala Dosa, Paubhaji Dosa and Chhash- Did not enjoy the food at all. Menduvada tasted bitter like it was fried in old overly used oil. Mysore dosa was extremely extremely spicy. Upon giving the feedback, I was told thats normal. Being a dosa lover myself ITS ABNORMALLY HOT. Paubhaji dosa was decent ngl. The server never even apologized for this once.
Worst experience ever!! I wish I could give them zero! Initially when taking order, the server was in so rush that didn’t even let us finish the order and after that finally the food arrived she spilled it over the table and never came to clean the table. Not finished yet! Finally after finishing we told the server that we didn’t open the water bottle so don’t charge us for that!! She asked us to go back to the table and bring the water bottle back to her. Not sure if she wanted to confirm if we really drank the water out of it or not!! Anyways after that we were told that they charge extra if we pay using debit or credit…at the same time there were some other people who were charged extra by them and they paid by card and the guy (owner maybe) wasn’t willing to pay them back to their card and wanted to give them cash and they ended up swearing at each other and called Police! Even the owner of the restaurant said that to the people who were complaining that they are only worth of giving him 1 star!! Seriously?? Never coming back to this place ever and won’t recommend it to anyone as they have no manners!! You would get no smile but a look from the server as if we should be guilty or something as she would have to serve us or work!!
Service was not good at all. Don't know how to talk properly. Not even smiling at all. Put the dosa in plate on the curry and chutney, which ruin the dosa for obvious. The quantity of thali was also not even worth the price which was $19. Then after all, he was expecting a tip from us. Service needs to improve!
The restaurant is overpriced for the quality of food and service. The manager/owner accidentally spilled hot sabji on me, ruining my jacket, t-shirt, trousers, and shoes with permanent stains. While he helped clean up, they didn’t offer any compensation, just saying, "It happens." They give free sweets for 5-star reviews but don’t handle real issues professionally. My friend even found hair in the food, but we let it go. When I politely asked for a 10% discount as a goodwill gesture, they reacted rudely, with one even threatening to call the cops. In the end, they gave the 10% discount with no gratuity but were extremely rude. Many reviews mention the same behavior. The place has potential, but they seriously need to improve their customer service.
Beware of this place , worst food and worst service, we ordered dosa and paneer parathas , in the name of sambar they serve only water and frozen food have more taste than this. Staff behave like that they are doing some charity on customer by serving. 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻. Avoid this place
This is not at all South Indian food. Their idle is so hard that you need real strong teeth to eat it. Doesn’t seem like a fresh idle. Sambar no at all tastes like a South Indian sambhar. It’s more like a moong daal water and does not taste like fresh. Chutneys are ok. Coconut chutney tastes more like a yogurt. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone. Free Parking is behind the restaurant.
ZERO STAR wouldn’t recommend BEWARE! Some reviewers might have posted good reviews just to get a free sweet from them. (There is a sign posted on their front counter for this scheme.) Value for money- No Food Quality - Under average Their prices are similar to that of a fancy place but in reality, it is a pathetic place to have any meal. Average food Others have mentioned good things about cholle bhature. We tried it and it was average for the price we were paying them. Same was the case with dosa. Sambar and coconut chutney barely had taste in them and felt like they were over diluted with water. We had a Masala Soda which tastes so bad . And we refused to pay for it. Would not recommend to step in here unless you're extremely hungry and have no other option available.
