Opinions de Maharaja Niagara Falls
Went to this place with my boyfriend hoping they would have some vegetarian dishes, which they did. The food was amazing, and our waiter was really nice and friendly. A very good alternative to all the overpriced chain restaurants in Niagara Falls, definitely worth a visit if you enjoy Indian food
We had great time and great peoples and the food is just delicious. Owners hospitality is all worth it and is beyond exceptional. Just ask for it and they'll give it all in terms of quality and service.
Just came from this spot. The best Indian food I have ever eaten in my life, and i eat a lot of it. I don't leave reviews but I had to this time because this place in incredible in food, service and ambience. I highly recommend it.
During our dinner their was a couple who wouldn't stop talking about how good the food was. We hadn't received our dinner yet but listening to them was making us more hungry that we could hear our stomachs growl. Finally! Dinner arrived and because our appetites had grown because of the couple next to us, this was the best food we had had all day. Thank you for quenching our hunger
We are vegetarians and searching for good indian cuisine when in Niagara and zero'd down to here, not many reviews but gave a shot and it was worth, decor was good, pretty spacious and food options were ok (not very big booklet but sufficient enough to please), food served to us was fresh and hot, we tried shahi paneer and nan and food was delicious. At time of writing review, it is 60 days old and owner was very kind. Please note that they add 15% TIP to bill so read your bill before leaving.
We went to Guru and that was a big mistake. Instead we went to Maharaja Grand and had a marvellous time with our waiter and with dinner. The drink menu was elaborate along with the waiter being able to concoct any drink we could imagine. My group was so happy as our night could have been so terrible at the other place.
The hostess stopped my family while walking by. She introduced us to the idea of indian cuisine for dinner and what a gem of a place we found thanks to her. Everything we had was so tastey that it's hard to write about it without craving more.
The food taste and portion were excellent. Had such good foods in a long time. The price was reasonable for the quality and taste. Was happy to tip.
Hidden inside this Indian Restaurant was a wonderful Steakhouse! My Rib-Eye was melt in my mouth delicious! And the next time we are in Niagara Falls, we WILL be going back to this restaurant. Almost worth the hassle of a TSA-style 'massage'.
Your visit to Niagara is incomplete without a visit to Maharaja Grand! The ambiance, scrumptious dishes and real value for money has gives this restaurant a full five stars. This is truly five star dining and a place you want to take family, friends and colleagues. I have been to Maharaja Grand a few times and am slowly getting through the entire menu. The food has always exceeded my expectations and here's why: Ambiance The restaurant has opened a few months ago and the Owner has set the bar very high. Not only is the decor classy, but the restaurant is immaculate, with tasteful music and lighting. Dining here is an experience and the service is warm and congenial. Starters All appetizers are hot and fresh, portioned nicely and great for sharing. Of the three vegetarian starters, the paneer pakoras are my favorite and are presented really nicely. Enjoy! Main Courses Where to start.... Only the best of chefs know how to cook Malai Kofta, Daal Tadka (Yellow Daal) and Bhindi Masala well (my favorites). Maharaja Grand has nailed it. All the dishes are scrumptious and truly tantalize the palate. All dishes can be customized to be mild or spicy, but the standard spice levels on these dishes are perfect. There is also good value for money in ordering these main courses. Sometimes we stick to dishes we know, but here you will enjoy all the main courses you try. The Chef's Tandoor This is the biggest problem I have with this restaurant. All three tikkas are so different and SO GOOD, that I cannot choose. You really will enjoy all of them and this is definitely a must have (Paneer, Mushroom and Gobhi Tikkas). Accompaniments From the raita, to the rice and biryani dishes - all will compliment your main courses. I particularly recommend the raita-yogurt as it is rich and creamy. I always order it. Desserts I am so glad that all the desserts here are cooked in house and absolutely fresh. At other restaurants I've tastes so many prepackaged and frozen desserts... After a hearty meal, you may lean on not ordering any dessert - but don't make that mistake! The Ras Malai is a must have! It is creamy, perfectly sweet and topped with sliced almonds. You can thank me later. :) All the dishes I have recommended are vegetarian, but I know that whatever you order here - will be of the highest quality and the freshest of ingredients. I am very particular (and naturally a little bit tougher with my reviews) and so this review is a testament to the exquisite dining experiences I have had and continue to have at Maharaja Grand. Bon Appetite! Mahesh
Good food and the servers did what they could to keep up with the monsoon of indian families rushing the door screaming and yelling about not getting food in 10 minutes. It's a wonder why people like this even leave their homes. If you come to a restaurant on a holiday weekend Saturday and you're on vacation, CHILL THE F OUT, relax & enjoy the wonderful dinner you are provided
Had a wicked time at Maharaja Grand. It was the second time trying indian food ever and the waiter was very pleasant and helped us with ordering. What an experience because the first time we didn't know what to order, but this time, it was out of this world. Ask for help if you don't know what to get.
Simply said, this spot is 6 stars for quality and class. I loved this place. It was really really pretty inside like a dining room in some palace in Rajasthan. The chandeliers hanging from the ceiling was fitting to the theme of the establishment. The food was incredible. The price, depending on what you're used to was just fine by us. Quality food is not as cheap as other indian restaurants are definitely not serving Salmon Masala, Tandoori Lobster and Large Tandoori Prawns. Amazing! Thanks for the delight of eating with you.
I visit Maharaja Grand once a week as they have wonderful service and even better food. Walter is my favourite server. I have tried all of the other indian restaurants in Niagara Falls and this is by far the best food and ambience of any. I highly recommend it.
We went to this place thinking it was just another Indian restaurant. We were so wrong. The staff was very hospitable and helpful in selecting our dinner. I have discovered such amazing flavours in Indian cuisine after my visit here. I highly recommend this spot!
We ordered some take out. Started with a few aloo parathas. We asked the server to make sure our food was authentic. When we arrived back to the hotel, we ended up calling back and ordering so much more food. It was DELICIOUS! Finally a place that has that magic touch. I wish you all the success in your venture. Cheers!
If only all restaurants were created equal. Every restaurant would be in the mould of Maharaja Grand. The foods were outstanding. Not so much spice that your mouth burns. If you want hot just request it. It's made for everyone. Very good taste
We stumbled on this Indian Restaurant and were blown away by how delicious the food is. I had the BEST mango lassi I have ever had in my life! Our server, Priscilla, was professional, witty, knowledgeable and could read our table well. I had the Aloo Gobi, and Samosa. Delicious, well presented, and the perfect amount of spice.
Hey all of you Indians who write negative reviews of this place, STOP BEING SO CHEAP. ALL I HAVE READ ABOUT IS THE AUTO GRATUITY AND THE HIGH PRICES. My family stopped in here, we were first shown the menu and the prices written directly on the menu. We noticed that the gratuity is added in and it was disclosed on the menu. WE ACCEPTED AND ENTERED AND HAD A FABULOUS MEAL. PROBABLY THE BEST INDIAN DINNER CANADA WIDE. And I say that having the ability to afford to go eat anywhere, anytime. IF YOU CANT AFFORD TO EAT CORRECTLY, THERE ARE SOME S***HOLES AROUND THE CORNER THAT WOULD PROBABLY FIT YOU WELL.
Amazing customer service and delicious food. I am glad that I selected this restaurant to celebrate my friend's birthday. Thanks a lot Wally (Our Server) for making our day extra special. Butter chicken was great .
Prices are a little higher than we are used to at home but average as compared to anywhere else we went around in niagara falls. Very professional staff, great place and great food. It is worth paying a little extra. Our Server Lovish was absolutely amazing!
Was walking down the strip .. and came to maharaja grand... the host was nice and very welcoming. The server was very knowledgeable of the menu. Food was amazing, I requested my food to be extra spicy since I love me some spicy food. I was very impress thw food that it never lost its flavor.. I would totally come back...
Upon entering this restaurant the ambiance is exceptional and welcoming. The food is phenomenal and the staff are friendly and attentive. I will definitely be coming back here for great food in Niagara! This is by far one of the greatest restaurants here.
Amazing food! Butter Chicken has become our new addiction...we refer to it as the "Orange Magic" Service is always friendly and welcoming. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the Falls...as a local or tourist, it's a must try!
Amazing dining experience. Service was great and very personal. Wine selection was fantastic and prices were reasonable as well. The rogan gosh was the one of the best I've ever had. Easily the best place to get Indian food in the Niagara region.
Good food & service. Beautiful ambience. It took some time for food to be served but was worth the wait. Thank you Walter for your wonderful service and making us feel special on our anniversary. We shall return every time we are in Niagara Falls.
The manager or who ever he was had to actually ask a person at a another table to to put on his shoes. Since when is this acceptable behaviour to leave your home and take off your shoes in an establishment. Some people just have no clue. Anyway, regarding the dinner, we had a great time here. The food was particularly good and Priyanshu, our waiter was very sweet. Thank you for a lovely time.
Excellent place for tasty North Indian food. We were seven in all .. Walter was a really nice host , helped us with the menu and portions. Authentic food, excellent Nan and Rogan Josh. In a place like Niagara Falls where most places serve passable food for ridiculous prices.. this was indeed a welcome change.
Excellent food and service. Our waiter, Walter was great. Food is a tad spicy so you might want to as for mild if you don't like it really spicy. Butter Chicken the best I've had. Will go back for sure!
Ate here last week. This place is nothing short of fabulous, the food was absolutely perfect. Very tasty and delicious. Prices are very reasonable given the overall dining experience. When we first walked in I knew it would be good, just looking at the layout of the restaurant and how everything was done you just get the impression that the owners really wanted something fantastic. I will recommend this restaurant highly to all my friends & family. As far as I know there are two other restaurants nearby but atmosphere inside doesn't even come close. Highly recommended & will definitely return.
Great place to eat for families. Staff was very accomodating to our needs. Brought out the kids meal first and kept them happy with ice cream at the end. The food was exceptional and tasty. The service was superb. Will definitely be back again!
Excellent place to eat. Great ambience. Delicious Indian food and not to forget the service which was top notch. My review is not complete without mentioning the hospitality/warm provided to visitors by the staff/ chef which is excellent. Special note of thanks to Manager as well.
Service was a bit slow this evening but I can understand as it is a long weekend and the restaurant was trying to accommodate all of the guests in a timely fashion. Every where in Niagara Falls tonight was about a 1.5hr wait. We were happy to be seated in under 30 minutes at Maharaja. The food was really good as expected. The only downside was the few tables who were very rude to the staff because they "were hungry now". Why can't such people just goto McDonalds. Why wait for a table if you are in a rush. Typical South Asian Sense of entitlement.
The restaurant was hard to find although it was actually staring at out face. Once in, OMG it was such a pleasant experience. The staff were great. Owner is a nice guy. The ambience was just splendid. My entire family had an amazing time and to add to it the food was of the highest standards. This coming from an ex-Taj guy :-). Don't miss this one if in Niagara. Perfect if you're on a date. Just classy. I've been to Niagara a million times and I'm never going anywhere else ever again.
This is our favourite restaurant in Niagara. Definitely recommend this wonderful place. The food is amazing and the service is friendly yet professional. Thank you Naveen for making our 5th wedding anniversary so special with a surprise cheese cake. We will come back soon.
Lovely place on Clifton hill. The staff is extremely warm. We went there a half hour before they closed and they did NOT make any faces. They were welcoming and did NOT rush us into ordering fast or eating fast. The food was delicious; not disappointing at all. We ate here on two different days and enjoyed every bit of the food. The young lady and the Sikh gentleman were a delight. Thank you for an incredible experience. 🙂
The Guru sucks. Virsa sucks. Cheetal sucks. Passage to India is garbage. Moksha tries their best but they suck too. All of these above mentioned places lack the one thing a restaurant requires to make it good. That is service. These places hire young Indians who are clueless about the menu, dress inappropriately. Maharaja Grand in the Exception to this all. Classy, professional people who are there to know their job which is what I like. 5 star ⭐ for them because they know their business
We reached this restaurant now apparently called by a different name - "The Guru" after a long tiring day of walking up and down the clifton hill amusement hub and a journey behind the falls. The owner (apparently) was gracious and understanding, found us a place right away, despite there being atleast 3 large groups of people in the restaurant already eating. The service was prompt and they checked periodically to see if we needed anything. Pleasant music playing all the time and great food. We had plain fare: a couple of Naan's, yellow daal tadka, jeera rice and I personally went for the Mango kulfi (delightful). However, we were so pooped from all the days' activity that we made a quick night of it but we will be back for more - especially since there were many other folks who own eateries around this place who were more than happy to eat here and recommended we eat here too (we were trying to find food in their places but they directed us here - AMAZING!)
Came here for dinner with my boyfriend and the atmosphere was really nice and our server was very accommodating as I'm a vegan and he was kind enough to ask the chef about all the vegan options! The food was very delicious although the prices are on the high end, but overall it's a great place for some good Indian food :)
Frankly speaking the food was not the best wanted to eat paratha but parathas were like khakras. Not thick and not stuffed fully. Veg biryani was like pulao, not really like a biryani. Mojito and lassi were great. Chai was really good which was complimentary offered and service was just amazing humble and courteous towards customers and with absolutely amazing positive attitude. Siting space was just mind-blowing. I won't mind and try some other stuff which would be their specialty. So will visit again and try other stuff and may leave a review again.
You get authentic punjabi food for the buffet and South indian food for ala carte. It will cost you 15 dollar per meal. I liked the food . But as far as recommendations, if you cannot survive without Indian food, you can visit this place, my personal opinion is if you are here in Buffalo only 1 thing should be running in our mind Chicken Wings 😋🍗.
Tooo expensive and very usual or normal taste. I would like to visit many other Indian cuisine restaurants with better taste and a very lesser price (comparitively) in that area. No doubt the service was good (no complains on that)
The prices were overwhelming. There’s a tax charge, a tourist tax, and tip was included in my bill. My boyfriend and I ordered a chicken tikka masala paid $22, Naan $4 a piece (2pieces), ginger ale ($5), two pieces of gulabjamun $7. Our bill was about $65. Ripped off to the max!! However , beautiful restaurant, clean and well kept, friendly staff.
HIDDEN SERVICE CHARGES, Since we tipped the server, the SERVICE CHARGE seemed unnecessary. Try other restaurants if u can. Based on the quantity and the taste of the food, the price seemed very expensive. no onion or pickle is served with food.
The food was meh and it didn't have the taste of real Indian food, it tasted bland. Also the food was overpriced for the quantity they served. The two stars are only for the friendly service and the presentation of the place. And honestly everything else was not even remotely good. Would not recommend and will never go back again.
Dining here is very Expensive, specially Drinks. Try to go early, as serving takes time. I got chicken Tandori for my appetizer, and i did not like it as i could make out that it was re heated in micro and tasted weird.
The food was ok. Yet the service was weird, this guy had an attitude, not welcoming at all, with a loud voice. Lack of respect to customers. Another thing in the bill, there was a mandatory %15 tip. ITS A TIP, u cant force the customer to pay it. It's up to him/her to decide if you deserve a tip or not. The place was dirty, the glass ware was not clean, we had a fly dining with us. Never coming back, a lot of Indian better places around.
Summary: I didn't feel it was worth the money. We were the only ones in the restaurant and yet the service was slow. The food tasted alright, but didn't come out in time properly and most of my family had upset stomachs the next day. The server was very nice and gave us recommendations on things to do after but the overall experience was sub-par and too pricey for the quality.
Food was good. Service good as well. Not exceptional though. Worst part was that customers are forced to pay 18% tip which is calculated in the bill. It's written in fine print on menu. You wouldn't know if you don't read it as management doesn't inform you as well. On top of that when you make a payment there is an option for tip as well. This is kind of a cheating to customers. Isn't tip supposed to be an optional gratitude towards service? It shouldn't be a forced charge.
It's a neat and well-maintained restaurant; however, the quality of the food needs to be a lot better. The Biryani served should not be sticky and should include the essential spices. Please concentrate more so that customers enjoy the food in exchange for the money they spend.
Unsatisfied with what the restaurant had to offer us in terms of food quality and service. Frankly it is over priced and service doesn't give justice to the peice customers are charged. We ordered a non-veg thali and chicken biryani. It took well over 30min to serve us the dinner but when they served I was shell shocked to see the quantity I was given for the chicken biryani. I was charged $16 for a chicken biryani which isn't enough for one person. Moreover the food didn't feel it was warm and was cooked then and there but felt more of less like it was cooked long time ago. Over all felt like prices were over charged for the service and quality given to customers.
I went twice here. One was in 2022. Then they used to offer a very good quality Buffet, with a lot of options. Beef, chicken, goat were all halal. The second time was on May'21. Experience was not good. Most of the meat items were gone, filled with south indian vegetable cuisine. We only had lamb meatball curry, not much tasty. Other foods were below average. Don't want to go again.
The restaurant is not so good. When you order for something it takes way too long to bring the food to the table and they don’t even ask you for water. Maharaja Mughal briyani is too sour and 15% tip is already included when you go to pay the bill. I highly suggest not to go there.
Worst experience ever. Too pricey. Asked for extra naans and was told that our kitchen is now closed..how come they close their kitchen at 10:30 when their closing hours are 11 pm. And there were more customers also in the restaurant. No maharaja feeling. Poor service. I would have rated ZERO IF POSSIBLE. Above all they add up 15% of the price as a tip MANDATORY TIP** If they would have provided great service I don’t mind the tip but when they can’t fulfil customer order why are they adding up the tip in bill as mandatory even without asking anyone. When I approached the owner regarding this, I was told that this policy is written in their menu card and I was shown that. Seriously man, that was at the bottom in so tiny letters that no one pay any attention to that. They are looting people. Money makers only. Ruined my whole Falls experience.
Don't understand why 15% gratuity was included in the bill when we were only 4 people dining. Bigger groups I get it but not when it's a family of 4. Food was ok. Nothing special. Considering the place was empty, took over 20 mins for the food to be on the table. Highly NOT recommended!!
Worst Food, borg gravy were over salty, on the name of naan they served pizza dough when we explain the situation they said it’s perfect and everyone has different tastebuds (no one eat salty food) extremely rude manager. We ordered sweet lassi - yoghurt was sour and it was very salty. Highly overpriced, ridiculous place, the worst adjectives will be short to describe the place and its employees. Don’t go in its ambiance, its not worth of even a single penny. Worst part was that he didn’t even apologetic about anything.
One of the worst experience of having indian food. We ordered shahi paneer and garlic naan and both were equally awful. The curry tasted like tomato puree and had no flavors to it. The garlic naan ordered was not at all soft and had no garlic flavor on it. I wouldnt eat there even for free.
Awful service. They charged gratuity and tip without letting us know first. The portion size compared to the price was small. I will bot be returning to this restaurant again.
Want to waste your money on unworthy food after wasting a lot of time??? In addition if you are not done and want to turn off your mood by interacting with the manager/owner who shows you attitude for being his customer??? He will make you feel like he's doing you a favor by providing food for free even after charging you tremendously high prises for his food which you wouldn't want to eat ....... Then go for it
so expensive, they charge for service fee and so many taxes when I just ate two dish. The rice is $25 which comes in one small bowl which is not even enough for one person. They should reduce the price or for that price give more quantity. They always ask us to do google review 4.0, when they should change things up.
Went here to go on a dinner date the atmosphere was lovely.. The staff were bang on. However when I was using the bathroom I saw multiple rats the size of border collies running near my feet .. I would not suggest for anyone to go there. God knows what we ingest.
Worst Food! Their naans were sour. I ordered kadhai paneer, butter chicken and daal makhni. All dishes tasted like they were 2-3 days old
They said it will take 20-25 minutes to serve the food and we got it after an hour. Also the food was not good and too spicy. Some of the customers were arguing with the staff about the rotti.
This place serves worst food, we ordered paneer tikka and malai kofta both were extremely salty, sweet lassi which was not sweet on any scale. Further more, once you place the order, they take about 25 minutes to serve (worst) food. Finally after paying the check (which was outrageously high), the manager ‘confronted’ us telling us that ‘everybody has a different pallate’ (buddy no one has an appetite for salty food!), he was not only rude but didnt even apologize for ruining our evening. If potential customers are reading this, I would say stay away from this place. Food: 0/5 Service:0/5 Hope the management does a better job.
Sucked!!! Decided to try this restaurant with my family of 4 (including an infant) based on the "4 stars" on google reviews. Honestly, don't know who the restaurant owner paid for these stars. About my experience of this "fine dining" restaurant - made a reservation over the phone but still made to wait for 30mins before we were seated, another 15minutes before we were served any water or attended by a server, placed the order for maharaja bruschetta, paneer tikka masala and daal makhni- horrible food, paneer "tikka" was not grilled, just a handful pieces of raw paneer, the masala and the daal tasted similar as though the same gravy was used. Not even worth $10 and these dishes were $19 each. Portions are so small. Exorbitant!! Service was slow and the icing on the cake was the 15% tip pre-added to the bill. Ambience is horrible - stinking carpet all over including the walls, unkept toilets. Few other customers on adjoining table left in frustration too. It's a business of looting tourists. It's a bad reputation for Indian food.
8 of us just entered this nasty place to dine. My husband went down to wash first. The proprietor/manager followed him into washroom & screened assuming he used washroom as a stranger, not dining in. He refused to say who he was & continued to shout at peak of his voice. V r lodging a police complaint & identify this scoundrel who entered washroom & shouted with presumptuous discriminative behaviour.. I am glad I didn’t use washroom as he wud have daringly entered the ladies restroom with utmost indecency. I don’t consider this place safe for families, hospitable & I think this guy was drunk too. Beware, u can do without food but when life & liberty in danger, stay away from this place.
Over priced, small serving sizes, not very good. We didn't like some of the food served. They overcharged us and included a tip in the amount; $5 naan , one tandoori chicken plus two mango lasses $59. Really disappointed!!!
They are liyers!!!! we went there for New years Eve, while we were looking for Halal food 2 guys at the front door told us this restaurant is totally halal and we trusted them and we told them that we will come if you let our friends to join us and bring their food from next door restaurant, they said ok everything will be as you wish. they insisted and kept telling us to go there and the food portions are big size and enough for 2 persons. when we went to their restaurant they told us our food is in SMALL portion so order for each person separately, then the manager came and with very rude and arrogant behaviour told our friends that you could not join your friends and you have to leave the restaurant; and he even did not apologize from us and even did not accept that his employee made us to come to his restaurant with bunch of lies. after he ruined our night we realized that the food was not Halal and it was like a disaster to me as a Moslem and my friends. So do not trust their smiley faces and lies they tell you. the food was cold and really unprofessionally served.
Order their chicken biryani worth 19 dollars and find that it's just a regular rice fried with two pieces of chicken. It's a rip off. The chicken used in the curries smelled odd, they did not taste good either.Exorbitant price for sub standard food. Not recommended.
If possible negative stars, reasons you can easily find in other reviews mine experience was not any different, tipping was a surprise of all time. I talked to the onsite manager and she started explaining their unrelated reasons for tip... which was a disaster. Not recommending anyone until and unless you tell them to explain all the terms and conditions beforehand... ask them right away or get ready to be robbed literally. 👎
Total rip off. We had a carry out order and had a beer at their bar. They charged us 30 bucks as a tip on carry out food . I explained to them that it's not fair, as they didn't even serve us and we didn't even use their materials, but it made no difference to them. Their explanation was that since they served beer , they charge tip...now common , serving a beer and that too at a bar and then charging tip for entire carry out food...not fair...stay away from this unethical place.
The service was average, we ordered 4 different dishes but unfortunately they all tasted the same, one dish was a fish curry, only had 3 very small pieces of salmon. We try new restaurants since we recently moved to Niagara Falls - this place was disappointing.
The food is not palatable at all. We ordered 3 vegetarian well known cuisines and all turned out to be severely bad. I asked Manager to get it checked as they very highly sour and he replied our chef tasted each and every food before its served. That's unbelievable. I had eaten North Indian food all my life and knew that no chef can knowingly made Malai Kofta, Dal Makhani as extreme sour. So, I was sure it must have been a mistake and I was humble due to that, as everyone can make mistake. But, the manager their was totally pathetic and irresponsible. Even, after asking for so many times, he didn't consider our complain at all. Only one line was persistent: This is how we make, we have our own standards and set preparation methods. Then, I could only say don't call yourself an Indian fine dining, if you don't know how Indian Food Tastes.
During our journey through Canada, my husband and I, typically residents of Denmark, embarked on a culinary adventure. Our search for a taste of local cuisine led us to a restaurant that promised a unique dining experience. We ordered the papadichaat and Kabakpqari with naan. Our journey began with the papadichaat, a starter that turned out to be a perplexing contrast of flavors. It was incredibly sour, to the point where it was nearly impossible to enjoy. It felt as though the chef had squeezed a whole lemon into this small dish, overpowering all other elements. The lack of balance was a disappointment, but it didn't deter us from continuing our exploration. The Kabakqari, unfortunately, did not live up to our expectations either. The kebabs seemed to lack the freshness we had hoped for, with a texture that suggested they might have been frozen. They were accompanied by a bland tomato sauce that did little to enhance their overall flavor. We longed for a more satisfying and authentic experience, something that was regrettably missing. To our dismay, our dining experience took an unexpected turn when it came time to settle the bill. The server automatically added a 15% gratuity without seeking our consent. As if that weren't enough, an additional 3% service charge was tacked on, making the final bill much higher than we had anticipated. It was an unwelcome surprise, especially when it resulted in a cost equivalent to an entire meal.
Way too expensive for no reason. Food was just okay for the price. Also they sneakily added service charge in the bill and then when you pay, they give an option to tip on top of that. Lastly don’t trust the prices online they have not updated it. They are charging $5 for a plain naan.
None of the food tastes good, we ordered butter chicken, French fries, lamb curry, briyani, mango lassi, naan, and papri chaat. Nothing was worth ordering again. Overpriced Indian food, do not recommend.
Do not go ever in this restaurant. You are going to waste your time and hard earned money. Food is too bad. Do not dare to taste it. You are going to regret. Staff doesn't care about the customer, their food quality. I do not think they are going to run this business for so long if they are not customer centric and quality centric.
The service was brutual. The waitress/waiter did not pay attention. There was only two of us and he couldn't even remember who ordered what to drink. My wife's food allergy was ignored and did not get her entire meal. My rare steak came raw and cold with no knife to eat it with. Our dessert which was included in the dinner for two was not offered to us. Our bill included an almost $20 tip which certainly was not earned. Then to add insult to injury when I asked to speak to a manger this clown with a ponytail came over and tried to be physically intimidating. Then he suggested that I not pay the bill and he would call the police. Do not eat here! The worst restaurant experience I have ever had.
Worst food ever we had. Disgusting place to eat. Chicken was mashed and butter naan was over cooked and was frozen one and momos were super dry and mint chatnai was filled with water. Prices are high and food quality is super low.
Avoid this place. While the location is good, the food quality is disappointing. No matter what gravy you order, they taste exactly the same. The curries are all basically the same. The rotis were also hard and rubber like. Furtermore, a tip of 15% is included in the bill irrespective of the food or service quality. Seriously, if you can't make food the way it is for a cuisine you shouldn't open a restaurant for it!
This was the worst experience with food. Not only the food was edible but the samosa was frozen you actually can feel the ice, the BBQ chicken was so dry and burnt it is terrible only the waitresse was so polite and apologizing I really like Indian food but this restaurant gives me second thought.
We were just there and omg this is the worst Indian food in the world. They have 5 different curries but they use the same orange sauce. They have the audacity to charge $24 for some chicken appetizer we ordered which barely had any taste. The other 5 star reviews are either fake or just paid for. This place doesn’t deserve to exist, much less a star.
Food was so bad we ordered yogurt it tasted like buttermilk was so bitter and hot whereas yogurt should’ve cold. The naan’s were so hard that we can’t even chew em. Their cheese tasted like tofu. The portion of food was too less but prices were very high. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone. Service- There’s some serious issues with the service here the server working here have zero knowledge about food restaurant she gave us dal makhni without service spoon and funny thing was that when we ask her about one she said we don’t have any service spoons here. We almost waited for 40 mins for our food and when ask her how long it’s gonna take she replied she don’t know kitchen staff can tell about how long it’s gonna take. Not coming back again. Google please have another option for zero star rating because 1 star is way too much than what they deserve.
The restaurant was short staffed, with no management at all. The person forgot to take our order even after 2 reminders. We waited for our order for about 40 minutes. The food was pathetic. We ordered everything extra spicy, but nothing was flavourful. Butter chicken tasted like sweet dish, Paneer Tikka masala had too much food coloring, biryani had plain rice with 2 chicken pieces. Would not recommend this restaurant at all. I would not even give one star.
Totally Waste of money. Had worst food in my life..Biriyani is sticky with full of colors,no flavors at all. It is better to eat somewhere else..all food we ordered are spoiled and smell like reheated again and again.Highly recommend not to try this place .Dont ever take a risk in your health.
Absolutely horrifying food. My parents and I came with great hopes to dine at the “great” Maharaja Grand dining, but we were left starving. We ordered chicken biryani, mutton biryani, and chicken kebab. All of them were drenched in tomato purée. The rice was incredibly soft that even my grandma, who has no teeth, can munch on the chicken and mutton pieces. It’s not biryani, it almost tasted like baby food. 2/10 I would not recommend. The only good thing were the servers.
I never criticise a restaurant unless i feel there is a need. I came here after looking at the atmosphere of the restaurant on the Internet. I ordered pani puri/ gol gappa. Worst gol gappa ever. Then we ordered panner tikka masala gravy and dal makhni and garlic naan for main course. The paneer was so sour that i just took a few bite and left it. Dal makhni was bland no spice no good taste at all . Garlic naan was dry and soggy and wet in the middle. Seems like it was a microwaved naan, so dry! After I told the server/ the only person in the restaurant, that the food is not good at all she didn’t even apologize or felt sorry about how we felt about the food. There was zero consideration to the feeling of what the customer felt rather she started offering us to bring new plate of naan, but the curries were so disgusting. I left the food and me and my wife ate just one naan and they charged me For the whole meal. The worst part is the server/ only person in the restaurant never apologized or felt sorry, Like i was lying. I am a punjabi and ate at several indian restaurants. I know what indian/punjabi food tastes like. Pls dnt come here!!! Worst experience ever.!!! This is not fine dining restaurant. I wasted my first marriage anniversary dinner here. Had to leave the meal in between and go at a different restaurant. Worst restaurant ever! Very expensive as per the taste and subzero restaurant ambiance.
Both waitresses need training on customer service as it was very poor when we were there on 08/11 evening. Need improvement on: Order taking, dish description and spice level, explaining on all the type of available drinks etc. Hope it get improved. We liked their food but it was very small amount for the price we paid.
Let me clarify that I only gave 1 star because I have to choose a star rating. I would not visit this restaurant again. Here’s a list of why I wouldn’t recommend visiting: 1. I took a bite of the samosa appetizer and it was literally frozen - I bit into frozen potato. Fine dining shouldn’t be giving me frozen food! 2. The chicken tikka and wings were burnt - we literally demonstrated how hard the chicken pieces were by hitting it on the plate. 3. The meat kebabs had gone bad and smelt terrible :/ 4. The bill was $240 and we even gave a tip! The only positive aspect of our visit was the waitress, who apologized tremendously (as if she was the chef). *we were the only restaurant guests in a busy tourist street (Clifton Hill) - we should have clued in*
One of the worst experiences I've ever had. Customer service was so poor. Staff members were trying to avoid us and they were like we are about to close and they said we are closing and we don't have this, this and this several times. We could literally see that they were making faces and when will these people leave. I would like to compromise with taste rather than going there once again. It ruined my whole dinner even after paying $600.
SUPER EXPENSIVE! NOT WORTH IT! NOT AUTHENTIC! Now let me break it down. Ordered food over the phone and asked for credit card to process my order- did t mind doing that, understand it might be required in a tourist town. Then I was told 15 mins it will be ready. Then we reached restaurant in 5 mins and waited for 40 mins. They took the money first which was $109.+(Included in the pictures) then 10 mins later we got the food. Reached the hotel room and tried to figure which was butter chicken($22- for 6 moderate size pieces of chicken) and which was tikka Masala($22 - 6 moderate pieces of boiled chicken breast). The sauces tasted the same and tasted like tomato sauce that's used on a lamest pizza. The chicken pieces looked like boiled chicken Brest in tikka masala instead of tikka pieces. Those rates doesn't come with rice or roti. Their roti n naan are super expensive as well n they taste like cardboard with butter. I called n went back to the restaurant and got my money back - which was good and good for the manager because she did handle the situation very well. I personally don't suggest this place.
