Opinions de Nin's Restaurant Norfolk
Excellent food- we had Nina's special pizza, a combo antipasto salad and a cheese pizza. Toppings were generous on the special which had pepperoni, sausage, onions, green peppers and mushrooms. Only gripe which might take off part of a star, was the crust was not cut though all the way at the edges
Years ago my wife and I and the kids stopped in to Nina's for the first time, asked if they took Discover card, since we didn't have enough cash. He said no, so we were bummed and started to leave. He stopped us and insisted we stayed and enjoyed our dinner, and just come back and pay later!!! We were amazed, and returned a week later to Norwich to pay for our great meals. When we asked how he could ever trust someone like that, he smiled and said... I knew you'd be back!!!!
We never been to norwich at car museum woman recommended Nina's. Didnt disappoint was yesterday memorial day 2022 .wonderful waitress been doing it 35 years she said. Was short some help but u wouldn't of known it. Excellent service .she was great. Food was outstanding were from mexico ny but we definitely will be back.
We live in Vestal and our son attends Utica College, so we decided to meet half way in Norwich for dinner, in your wonderful restaurant. The food and service was spectacular. I am so glad we chose your restaurant. We definitely will be back.
After visiting the Northeast Classic Car Museum, my son and I went to Nina’s Pizzeria & Restaurant for lunch. The menu was quite extensive and the portions were large. Megan, our 5★ waitress, made our visit very relaxing and memorable. She was polite and attentive. I only wish we didn’t live so far away.
I wish I could live closer to this restaurant because I want to order everything on the menu. Good iced tea and sweet n low too. Friendly service. Very clean place. Seating in booths or at tables. Cute place in a cute town.
Nina's is one of my favorite places to eat. I usually get the Marinated Chicken salad and my husband gets the Veal or Chicken Parmesan. They also have HUGE Round sandwiches on the menu. Trust me you will not be disappointed with these! They bring out hot dinner rolls, and truthfully I would love to learn how to make them. It's contemporary Italian decor and they also have nice outdoor seating.
Nina's is a wonderful place to eat, the entire staff are pleasant and professional. The food is consistently Good.. Never had a bad meal.. Always clean and seasonally decorated.. A lot of ownership pride is felt throughout... Keep up the great job...
Nina's is always a great place to eat. Great atmosphere. Great service.
Excellent food! Nina’s catered our wedding and everyone raves about the chicken parm, meatballs, and chicken francese. We’ve made a point of coming back since our wedding in 2019 for some nostalgia. Really a great place!
THE NICEST RESTAURANT EVER We came out after watching a movie and they were very nice we came in right before they closed and they took our order. This restaurant made my day 😁😁😁
Read other reviews not sure if we are talking about the same place or not. But Nina's in Norwich is not that good. The only thing that was correct was the portion sizes. Let me explain ordered a spaghetti and meatball dinner asked for extra meatballs and added mushroom and onions to the sauce. Got 2 small meatballs, and about a pound of pasta no onions but mushrooms. The meatball was mushy and no taste the sauce was super bland. It is my assumption that people in the Norwich area call this good food because they never had real Italian food before.
Food is delicious, and prices are reasonable for the large portions or even slices of pizza. Nice atmosphere.
Nina's is a typical Italian restaurant done right. The food is always good. The portion sizes are large and I've never had anything that didn't taste great. The service is wonderful too.
Some of the best pizza I've had. I would highly recommend this restaurant and plan to come back as soon as I can. We came in 20 minutes before closing and they still were super friendly and even upgraded our pizza to large instead of the medium we ordered.
The food here is absolutely delicious! Customer service is excellent. Prices are reasonable. Wide variety to choose from on the menu. No long wait for service, bathroom on premises, free parking, they except credit cards.
An absolutely amazing meal. Went with the prime rib dinner and it was cooked perfectly. I haven't been to Nina's in a long time but I must say I will now be going back regularly.
A long time customer growing up. Came for a visit last week and had the best Stromboli I've had in years!! Can't find that kind of marinara like ninas here in NC!!
My family has been going to Nina's since before I can remember...I've never gone to Norwich without going to Nina's. Good Italian food, great service, reasonable prices. If you've never been give it a try so you can say that you've been to Norwich!
First time I have been to Nina's and I had the chicken riggies. Absolutely awesome and their house made Italian dressing was excellent as well, I highly recommend trying it out for yourself. Melissa was my server and she was very good. Casual family atmosphere was very pleasant and welcoming, next time I'm in Norwich, I will be going back to Nina's for sure 😃
Very nice and friendly pizza, sandwich, and dinner spot. Very large portions, interested wait staff....even has a salad bar!
Our waiter wasn't exactly friendly and the service was very slow. Considering it was a Sunday and very few people in the restaurant service should have been much faster. Parking in front is almost impossible but there is parking in the rear. We ordered 3 large pizza's. The food was amazing, it more than made up for the lack of service. If you are ever in Norwich, I suggest you stop by.
We love coming here when we are in Norwich. I brought my son niece and her friend and my nephew. The portions were huge and well worth the money. The staff was very attentive and kind. Thank you for making our meal wonderful!
I've been eating their since I was a kid that's over 50 years. It's a great Italian restaurant if you're around the Norwich ny area stop by say hello and have something to eat you won't be disappointed at all.
A wonderful local well rooted Italian pizzeria and restaurant. Nina's will not disappoint! Not only is the food amazing , the service was outstanding!!! We were passing through after a volleyball tourney. Not only did they accept 9 worn and stinky hungry adults, we felt warm and wanted. They treated us very well. We all left very happy, full, well served and the newest fans of Nina's. "We will definitely come back" was said by all
Lovely night with family food was delicious, our waitresses was nice and friendly she brought the kids pencils and paper to draw while waiting on our Lovely dinner.
We were staying in Norwich overnight and gave this place a try on a take-out pizza. The service from the friendly owner was excellent, including free sodas to take back to the hotel. Give them the opportunity to serve you if you are in the area!
Without exaggeration, Nina's Pizza absolutely makes the Best Pizza in Central New York. All kinds - plain, pepperoni, loaded, Sicilian... The crust, cheese, sauce & toppings combine for a wonderful meal... And that's just the Pizza. Chef once made upon request Rigatoni Pommodoro - it wasn't even on the menu! Nina's Pizza alone is a great reason to visit Norwich. Excellent atmosphere, reasonably priced. 👍
People told me I had to hit Nina’s on my work visit to Norwich. Although the pizza wasn’t the type I prefer, it was good. The restaurant is much bigger inside than it appears outside. My waitress Claire was a sweetheart.
What a wonderful find! As native New Yorkers who recently moved from Orange County, we were on the lookout for some great pizza. One evening, exhausted from moving furniture, we happened to come across this restaurant. The tantalizing aroma of the food led us to try something other than pizza, and it was the best choice we could have made! We wholeheartedly recommend this spot for its delicious food, reasonable prices, excellent service, and charming atmosphere.
My bride is gluten free so we have a hard time finding her good food. The pizza above is gluten free. She said it is the best gluten free that she has ever eaten. They also offered two gluten free pasta selections. I on the other hand will eat road kill. They didn't have R.K. on the menu, so I settled on Ravioli and Sausage. It also came with warm bread and a side salad. The staff is excellent and the place is very clean. You do get the impression that you are in old school Italian restaurant. Parking is free on the street and though I haven't used it they tell me that there is off street parking out back. Nina's is about 15 miles from home and worth the drive.
This was a great find! We just moved to the area from Orange County and, both of us having originally been from New York City when we were kids, of course wanted to find good pizza. We wandered in one night after having just started moving our furniture exhausted. The food smelled so good we opted to not have pizza and boy was that a great choice! Highly recommend their food. Good food good prices good service. And very quaint atmosphere.
We happened to stop by Nina’s on our drive to Cleveland. It was a wonderful experience. We were greeted with a very warm welcome, and the owner and pizza chef were terrific. The pizza was fantastic. The irony is it happened to be a second birthday today. Please go if you get a chance.
We go here for a slice and share a drink every time we come to Norwich. Really good pizza... Like really really good. We have had some appetizers too which were also good.. Garlic rolls and chicken wings which were excellent. Cant wait til we have the time and extra money to sit down for a nice dinner one day. All the food ive seen served looks and smells delicious and appears out of the kitchen in good time. They also got a wood fired brick oven now so you can order charred pepperoni pizza which is amazing and possibly the only way I'll ever eat pizza here again. Thanks to the front end for answering all our questions and being very friendly. Great people all around!
Thank you Nina’s and Company for your warm and welcoming family atmosphere and outstanding meals. I’m so glad that my party was able to enjoy the evening and the perfectly prepared entree’s we each had. Your Chicken Piccata and Veal Parmesan are second to none, perfectly cooked and delicately seasoned. Looking forward to visits and trying new dishes in the future. Our compliments to our Chef on Christmas Eve 2023 and our lovely Server Michelle and Emily. Your restaurant is a hidden gem.
This is a great place. It was our second time meeting friends there. There is more parking off the alley on the backside of the building. The food is delicious. We each had a different item and all enjoyed theirs. The portions are ample. Their bread is made fresh, served warm and was great. The prices are moderate. The server was great, and attentive.
A great place for Italian food, wide variety on their menu very reasonably priced... Good place for one or two or groups of people....
My apologies on a 2 star rating . Idk how or when that happened. I've visited here for a big gathering dinner and I've stopped in for lunch with DW. Both times the food was great, service was excellent, and the staff was very friendly. As the name implies, this is much more than just a pizzeria. A large selection on the menu. Very impressive selection of homemade desserts. I would never hesitate to stop again when I'm in town.
I was more than pleasantly surprised when I ordered from Nina’s. I moved to Norwich about two years ago and haven’t been able to find a place that I would consistently order from until now. The spaghetti sauce is amazing and the garlic knots are probably the best I have ever had. We called on a Saturday and it was super busy so their was a bit of a wait for pick up but I’m so glad we waited. 🙂
I'm not from this area but have visited twice so far. Both times we've eaten at Nina's and were very pleased. On our first visit I shared a meat pizza with family and loved it. And on the second visit I had their stuffed chicken alfredo and it's my new favorite New York meal! Absolutely the best. And on both visits the friendly staff was amazing. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to a friend.
The pizza is the best I’ve ever had in New York, we tried many things on the menu and they’ve all been fantastic- even the vegetable sides were awesome, it’s great quality food cooked right. They have a new salad bar with great pickings- this is a great place to stop if you’re hungry, you’ll be happy- or if you need a pizza or dinners to go- it’s an easy family pleaser with something for everyone
I came here to buy 2 pieces pizza for lunch. I picked white garlic sauce and Nina's special. Both of them tasted perfectly. The customer service was friendly and professional. The transaction was quick and simple.
Excellent Italian food with great dining and great service. We will be back!
We really enjoyed our dinner. The food was hot and delicious, and the service was very good.
Great place that offers delicious food at a reasonable price! I grew up in the area and have gone here for years with little to no hiccups. The small amount of times we have encountered a minor mistake, they were quick to correct it and make up for it. Thank you for providing a top notch pizzeria and restaurant in the are for years! Their dining room is also a great atmosphere to have a sit down meal in.
We have eaten there a couple of times recently. Everyone was very friendly. Service was good and quick. Food was very good
Omg.... Love this place. Great sandwich, great dishes. Service was fabulous. Will definitely be coming here whenever I am in the area again. Might decide to be in that area again just to snag a snack here. Love the bread on my sandwich, and just a fabulous place to eat. UPDATE 8/30/24: Had to downgrade the service and atmosphere portion of the review. Today I went in and spent over 100$ on a meal for 4, and while we were still eating, a server... Not our own, came over and started counting how many take home boxes we needed. Didn't ask if we were finished (we were not, and our food had only been delivered less than 15 minutes before). Just counted boxes, confirmed it with the 13yr old child at my table and brought back the take home containers. Talk about feeling unwanted at an establishment. I tried to explain to the woman behind the counter that it was unacceptable behavior and got "Sorry that happened" as a response and she went back to her computer terminal ignoring me. I really enjoyed the food here again, as did my family, but it's hard to want to eat somewhere where you feel like you aren't wanted around. In 50 years of eating out, I have NEVER been treated like that by wait staff. So, this place may be permanently off the list for eating as my response.
We visited for the first time today. We live about an hour and half away and went there with a Mustang car group. There were about 30 of us! The waitress did an amazing job taking care of us. Our food came out quickly (and pretty much all at the same time) and it was amazingly delicious! Huge portions too and decently priced. Highly recommend!! We will very back again!
There pizza very good. I like there sauce it's very garlic sauce and has lots of levels of flavor. To me they have best pizza sauce in the area it's definitely quality. This is after eating here about 8 times already. Staff is friendly. Two huge slices and a fountain drink for around $8 is cheap nowadays. Be ready for a nap because they don't play with there portions.
Our server was Sammy, she was so extremely nice, and not in an overbearing way. The food was priced very well, and was delicious. The mussels appetizer are spectacular, the sauce is addicting. Great vibe inside, half is a pizzeria, half is an upscale restaurant. Definitely worth the trip.
The food was enjoyable and the chicken cardinale was cooked well. However, the service was lacking and they appeared to be experiencing problems in the kitchen. One waitress was asked why service was so poor and she responded with a statement like, "We have a full house but we hear this all the time." A business should strive to perform exceptionally well at peak, and it sounds like they're understaffed or poorly directed. But again, the food was really enjoyable!
The food was ok ,had a large pizza wasn't bad . But what really got me was a six dollar budwiser and I had 3 the menu doesn't have a drink price on it. Never again nothing special about the place I could see it if it had go go girls dancing. Lol
We got take-out one night while visiting Norwich. The pizza was spectacular and the wing sauce was really tasty. Service was fast and friendly. They even donated a portion of the sale to the high school booster fund!
This place was good. The mac and cheese bites were delicious, and I enjoyed the cheese tortellini. My chicken parmesan wasn't that good, barely any cheese, drowned in sauce, and the chicken was cut strangely. I'd come back, but I'd order something different.
Italian dishes are very good, best tasting in the area. Pizza is also great quality. The atmosphere in the restaurant is warm and inviting and nicely decorated. They can accommodate large parties and have nice outdoor seating available. The staff is very friendly. Lunch hour can be busy and take some time, so be cautious on your time.
The food was good and the portions very generous! My cobb salad was very fresh. The staff was friendly and welcoming. Our server was very attentive and accommodating. We will definitely go back when in Norwich again.
Great food awesome bread!! Service was quick for a Sunday. Would have been 5 stars if I could have customized a pepperoni roll but I had a build your own calzone that more than made up for it. Portion sizes were great but there is no kids menu so there's no planning kids meal before the server comes to take the order
I sent here for a date. Nice atmosphere and friendly employees. I ordered stromboli and didn't know it came with mushrooms. I don't like mushrooms so I picked them out. Otherwise it's a nice place and if I do come here again (Which I might if she'd like to go here again.) I'll make sure to ask for no mushrooms. Thank you!
Our meal was very tasty and we would order it again. Our waiter Lon's service was attentive, helpful, and friendly. I would ask for him again. The dining area was clean, and it had a warm atmosphere. We have dined at Nina's multiple times and have never had a negative experience.
Expensive; $3 a slice of plain cheese pizza. Antipasta could be a little better...charge u an extra dollar if u pay w card....little ridiculous I think. Pizza is ok. Not the best place but also not the worst place either.
Absolutely love this place. Growing up in Norwich this was always the spot to go for great food and superior service. Tonight though was not the night for superior service. We ordered 10 slices at the counter and than sat for service for drinks and desserts. I informed the server that we didn't need menu's as we already ordered to save her some time. Instantly she got an attitude. She said, I guess you don't need plates and started picking them up. I said well you can leave the plates, ai would like some bread. She told me the bread came with dinners and collected all the plates. She came back a few minutes later and said I will give the bread but it normally a dollar each. Throughout the night she was short and after getting us drinks, never came back. But I still highly recommend because its usually great.
My family had an impromptu dinner gathering at Nina's last week. The waitstaff were fantastic and patient as we didn't arrive all at once. I can't remember the name of our "head" waitress, but she was truly awesome. The kitchen staff must've been quite busy with preparing our food and did a wonderful job getting orders out in a timely fashion. Big thanks to everyone involved!
Our waitress and the food was incredible. But we ask another waitress for sugar and she was extremely rude and slammed it down on the table. Then another girl that was apparently waiting to clean tables kept walking by shaking her head at us and looked at her non existent watch like she wanted us to hurry up. Very rude younger staff.
The food was great, lasagne was delicious. The waitress was friendly, and courteous. The support staff was lacking in any ambition. Had eat the appetizers on the paper place mat, she didn't listen when ordering drinks. She couldn't even stop when talking to us, asked questions as she walked by and didn't listen to our answers.
Very slow service! If you are looking for a quick bite, get a slice at the counter, but the table service was so slow, we almost left! The pizza was ok, it has the toppings under the cheese, which makes it interesting, but I did not prefer the taste of the sausage. Check out the drink prices before ordering- we ordered 2 milks for the kids, only to find out on the bill that each milk was $4!!!
Ordered the Monday pizza special, pizza, wings and garlic knots, wings weren't ready, by the time everything was ready, and 5 minutes to home, everything thing was cool, not warm not hot, cool, I gave them a 3 because there is always room for improvement
Early dining at 3:30PM a couple days ago. I did not catch the server's name but she was accommodating and very personable. The Italian antipasto was quite large and fresh. Loaded with meat, cheese and all of the other ingredients expected. Bread on the side was fresh. The dish of arancini was soggy, notwithstanding the marinara. A la carte order of meatballs was served lukewarm and mushy. Borderline raw with no crust whatsoever. Quite unpalatable. A la carte order of sausage was overcooked, crunchy, dry and a chewy mouthful. Difficult to rate higher when basic Italian staples are presented subpar.
I asked for jalapeño and received bell peppers instead, pizza also wasn’t cooked all the way. Never got my pizza remade, and was STILL CHARGED for the incorrect pizza I did not eat. My fiancé got a wood fired or whatever it was pizza and it made him sick for the rest of the day.
This is our 2nd time trying Nina’s, the first time we had the huge sandwiches which were delicious. The second time we had the spaghetti and meatballs. I do not recommend that one. It was just tomato paste on top of noodles with the meatballs. It had absolutely no flavor whatsoever.
A fair new York style slice Might not recommend specialty slices 8 slices and 4 bottled teas came to over $50 for my crew's lunch
We stopped in for a quick slice when we got into town. We weren't looking for a full lunch so figured a few slices would hold us over. The overall appearance was nice, plenty of seating in the back and front depending on what you plan on doing. We didn't want waitress service so we sat at the tables just up front. We were greeted but I wouldn't say they were overly friendly but we ordered our 3 slices and a few drinks and sat down. Just be aware if you're a tipper at the counter watch the screen they have flipped the tip scale from largest to smallest so you would naturally think the 18 percent is on the left so pay attention. The pizza was a little doughy and could definitely have been cooked some more, the pepperoni wasn't crispy or cooked, the slice lacked flavor as well. It wasn't terrible but could definitely be better. unfortunately even when we left I said thank you and have a good day to zero acknowledgement
Not sure how to rate this one. The restaurant is very nice. Always has been, but the waitresses and counter girls, well they've always been the same too. Stuck up snobby females that think the world revolves around them. Food is good, it's a nice place, but they could use some upgrading with the females there.
Called order in. Gave my name. Was given a price and a time of 45 minutes. Went to pick up food. Had nothing of me calling. Threw food together. Pulled bread apart and called it a garlic knot. Understand your busy. But so are the people ordering from your restaurant.
Food has always been good here.. When you tell a customer it will be 45 minutes and it turns into 2 hours not good. People have to work and have better things to do than stand around in front of a cashier for an extra hour and 15 minutes. I would not have been disappointed if they just could have been honest on the phone and said look we are short of help and it's going to be a couple of hours. We all run businesses and I get it. For God sakes just be honest!!!
We ordered at 6pm. We were told 1h. When the food arrived 1.5h later it was cold except the garlic bread that was so burned and garlicky that we threw them out. The tortellini Alfred was less than appetizing and the stuff shells were bland with overcooked noodles. Just sad to say. We have ordered from here and this experience is one that will make us think about ordering again. It was 44.00 that would have been better spent at pizza hut was the degree of disappointment in the dishes.
I cook better food for my Dog. Seems the quality at Nina's has gone downhill all the while the prices have gone uphill. No disrespect to the wait staff, they're great. The cook (wouldn't rate as a chef) on the other hand, not good. Sorry, but Ive been eating there 20 years and see the change.
I ordered a calzone with a dozen wings When I order a calzone I expect the whole thing but what I got was half of it I paid full price for 1 and got half Just so they could sell my other half to someone else for full price lAST TIME I GO THERE Just another rip off resteront.
Stopped by last night to pick up dinner on our way home. Unfortunately I have to say it was the worst meal I have had since I moved here over 25 years ago. A veal and a chicken parmigiana sub. Veal was incredibly tough and the chicken was so over cooked it was inedible - never before been able to say a parmigiana sub was dry!!!!! Not to mention paying $25.00 for two sandwiches one which went to the dogs
When I walked into this restaurant I immediately told them that I never been here and then I asked for a menu. I went and found what I wanted and asked to be sat down outside in the back she made me order at the desk and continue to tell me to go sit outside and wait for my food. There was no server or anyone to help us and it took over an hour for food which I only ordered Buffalo boneless wings and bruschetta. Then when I walked in to ask where my server was she informed me that I didn't get one because I ordered at the desk and that I needed to get my own water.
Recently moved to the area and have had many good meals from Nina’s such as spaghetti and meatballs, stuffed shells, linguine, lasagna, and pizza that is hit or miss. Tonight I decided to take my parents here because of my past good experiences. Unfortunately, it went embarrassing wrong. My father order linguine and red clam sauce, which I have had before and told him how delicious it was. My boyfriend and I received our meals a good 15 minutes before my parents meals came out, which was ok, they are busy, understandable. But the waitress asked my father for a second time while we were sitting if he ordered red or white sauce, he said red. When it finally came, it was very clearly white sauce. When we asked her about it she insisted it was red sauce (LOL). Since I have ordered it before I clearly knew this wasn’t true. We sent it back, and they “fixed it” by adding some marinara on top of the white sauce. It was disappointing to say the least, and nobody offered any explanation or condolence.
Customer service has gone downhill quite drastically. Lately in the last six months of coming, the wait staff tends to be unattentive and pushy as if they dont want you there. It really seems as if it depends on your age and if you're local or not. The pizzeria staff were far more serviceable then the actual wait staff. During the current visit I essentially had to serve myself with the help of the pizzeria staff. (Also no A/C which leads to the inside dining to be almost unbearably not worth it)
First time and last still wondering where I antipasto salad is since it was missing. Also buffalo chicken wings pizza doesn't have BBQ sauce. I believe in supporting local but when you spend 60 bucks and can't even eat the food1 star
Last night was the 4th time my wife and have eaten at Nina's and that was probably the last time we will eat there. Our first 3 times we were very, very impressed with the Saturday special, prime rib. Last night which included my son, we all ordered the prime rib with potato and corn for vegetable. Our waiter said the salads came with the meal. But anyway my son and I ordered Caesar salads and my wife a regular salad. When my son and my salads came I noticed it was the same lettuce my wife had, iceberg but with Caesar dressing. I chalked it up to the usual Italian restaurant cheap salads that come with the meal. The bread rolls were very good. Then we were brought our rib eye's. That's where the stars started to traveling down to the one star. My rib eye was cooked medium like I asked. It was warm as well as the Au jus. My potato was almost warm and the side corn was awful canned corn, I mean awful. My wife ordered medium rare and got a cold medium and her baked potato was under cooked! She sent the prime rib back and her potato and I sent my potato back as well. The potato they brought back to me was underdone. They should have just warmed up my potato I sent back. My wife's potato was not cooked again and her rib eye was again medium. My son's rib eye was supposed to be rare and I noticed when the plate was put down I did not see any blood on the plate. He did not ask for it to be taken back though. His potato was good. After out second serving we asked our waiter to speak with either the owner or manager. After at least 10 minutes they sent the head nurse when I asked for the doctor! The head waitress listened to our complaint and said she would comp 2 of our meals. When the check was presented it had the salads that we were told came with the meal and not an extra charge. So I told the head waitress that my son and I both ordered the Caesar salads and got iceberg lettuce for a Caesar and indicated that Caesar salads are with Romaine lettuce. She took the salads off then. Quite a disappointment after our previous visits. My wife said they probably sent the pizza maker to the back to cook! I guess we will have to find a different restaurant in the Norwich area.
We recently moved to Norwich and were recommended to try Nina’s. I have been very ill having had multiple surgeries (at an expense), and my husband and I never were able to celebrate our anniversary… So, we had an evening to ourselves and decided to try Nina’s. We perused the menu online and noticed the chicken dinners come with traditional red sauce on their pasta. Therefore, when ordering I made sure to be very specific and requested no red sauce on the pasta for the chicken Marsala for my husband and chicken francaise for myself. I requested the dinners just be made over pasta with their sauces. We both selected salads with balsamic dressing and specified NO ONIONS. My husband picked up dinner, which was just about $50 for the both of us, that was really a treat for us that we haven’t been able to do in a while. When I opened my chicken francaise there were chunky onions all over it. I called and spoke with same girl, Heather, who took our original order… I remember her specifically because we share the same first name and when I first called to order, she asked me to hold, put the phone on what sounded like the counter and hung it up about five minutes later. So, I had to call back to place the order. She was also a little rude when I jokingly said, “Oh, I think you may have hung up on me.” Anyway, I explained my issues and stated nowhere on the menu does it say there are onions in the francaise sauce and I have never in my life ate chicken francaise that had onions in it, let alone chunky onions. Heather got very flustered and handed the phone to someone else, who never identified themself, but basically told me they would not replace my meal because they put onions in their sauce. I am from northern New Jersey and frequently visited NYC often and when dining out, I tend to judge a restaurant by their chicken francaise… Again, I have never had onion in it in my life. So, I explained that I have food allergies and dietary restrictions medically. I also pointed out that I specifically asked for both salads without onions. One would think at this point Heather should have pointed out they use onions in their sauce at this point, but I guess times are tough and Heather must not have common sense. Nope, this woman got indignant and nasty. I also explained we were new to the area and this was our first time trying their restaurant. Didn’t matter. Too bad. She could’ve cared less. So, I told the woman on the phone (I’m assuming an owner or some type of management) that I would be sure to leave a negative review and we would never order from their establishment again. Thank you for ruining the first dinner I was able to order out in over 6 months after being so sick, and thank you for ruining our anniversary dinner. I think the customer service was very poor and ridiculous that I had to pay $22 plus tax to throw a meal in the garbage. This is not how to retain customers, especially those with allergies and dietary restrictions. Nina’s you should be ashamed of yourselves. I cannot in good faith recommend this restaurant to anyone due to their lack of respect and not owning a mistake by not listing onions as an ingredient in this dish on their menu, especially considering onion is not a typical ingredient in this dish and my medical issues. Btw, the chicken Marsala was subpar, in my husband’s opinion. This is the dish he tends to judge a restaurant by. Therefore, he has many chicken marsala’s to compare it to. There is only one piece of chicken with the entrées and my husband said his chicken was rubbery. Very disappointed to say the least. But, shame on us for not reading the negative reviews first and going off a word of mouth recommendation. I have since noticed Nina’s condescending replies to any criticism or negative review. Very poor business practice and looks foolish. With that, I will go out of my way to tell everyone I meet about my negative experience with this restaurant.
My first trip to Nina's a few months ago was wonderful. Not this time. Pasta was over done, mushy consistency Chicken had a breading that tasted awful. No lemon flavor. Chicken was overdone and didn't taste fresh. Salad and salad dressing tasted good. Order was ready when promised. While waiting, saw a disgruntled customer come to front unable to find waitress to pay check and response to customer by front staff was, can't help you, go back and look for your waitress. Person behind pizza counter had dirty clothes, handled garbage cans, and then handled pizza and rolls with bare hands.
In addition to the other review I left about the $17 salad. Yeah, all I asked for was no onions and no olives. Guess what is ALL OVER THIS SALAD?? $17 to know that I won’t ever go here again. It’s too bad. Roma’s used to be one of the better local restaurants in the area.
Service is beyond slow. Good food but salad was a little out of date. The drinks had to be sent back twice and the plates at our table were dirty. Several people walked out in the hour I've been waiting for my food. Wouldn't recommend unless you have time to waste, or order ahead of time for takeout.
The meal was delicious, however, I do have a concern to address. I ordered a Stromboli, priced at $12. It was sectioned into three slices, with the total length measuring approximately 6 inches. While the taste was satisfactory, I cannot recommend this dish due to its cost. I am aware of two alternative establishments, Joe's and Nick's Dinner, which offer considerably larger Stromboli for a lower price, while maintaining comparable or superior taste. For a visual reference, the size of these Stromboli is akin to an entire pizza folded in half..
Went to eat here for lunch. Not a big fan of the whole "seat yourself" thing they got going on. very confusing and we had no idea where to sit. This place must be better known for its pizza, because their entrées were horrible. I ordered "stuffed chicken alfredo" for $18... the stuffed chicken was one of the frozen dinners you can buy at Price chopper. The "alfredo" sauce tasted like a jar of Ragu's alfredo... very poor quality meal for an outrageous price. Will not be returning. Also, they had one poor lady waiting on EVERY single table in the place... very unfair to her. She was scatter brained and running all over.
Order sheet chicken buffalo pizza it was all not pizza they use bread as pizza dough and pizza was falling apart i called and complain and also told them I'm bringing it back to get my money back. The manger was rude and disrespectful when I brought pizza back saying that I'm dumb and stupid because that how it pose to be. Yelled in my face and very disrespectful. Manager told me that i was not allow to come back because I was unhappy with my order. Pizza was all bread and dry and hard like rock with little cheese on it. Pizza was falling apart when you pick it up.
Do not go here! Dave(Owner) is extremely rude when I called to express my feelings about how terrible the pizza and garlic knots and garlic Parm wings were after paying $109.00 I never asked for money back nor did I want it back. I was just expressing how disappointing it was because I got the wings for my kids because they don't like spicy and there was red pepper flakes in it and he denies there was even though you can visiably see red pepper flakes and he just hung up. Then my husband called back and also hung up on him. I will NEVER step foot back in this place again. We are not the type to call and complain about food we debated about not even calling and I have never had someone be so rude I understand you take pride in what you do but I am the customer and I was very dissatisfied.I drove all the way from Oxford to give him our business because the last time we ate their it was good. If this had zero stars I would have chose that I cannot express how terrible the food was and how rude Dave was we will never be going to ninas again and that is an understatement.
The food was not very good. The lazana was dry and easy with no flavor. The spaghetti had very little to sauce that had little flavor. The Italian salad dressing had no flavor. The best part of the meal was that with ordering out they provided a fork to eat with sad.
Service absolutely awful this evening, 4/23/2025. I'd imagine because the Schull's did not appear to be there this evening. I've gone plenty of times before and it's been OK. Tonight we were a party of 2, there were only 2 or 3 other tables with people at them, so not busy at all, plus the larger dining area was closed. Plenty of staff buzzing around. We sat at the table for 5 minutes before being asked, "Do you want menus?" Then the waitress came a minute later asking if we wanted something to drink. She brought us our drinks, then never returned to take our order. While we sat there waiting my foot tapping in the slop and large pieces of bread spilled on the floor underneath the table that was never cleaned up from the customer before. We sat there an additional 5 minutes before getting up and walking out w/o any notice by the staff. We never consumed any of the water that we ordered so not to worry, we didnt dine & dash at all. You get better service at McDonald's, which is where we ended up going.
Absolutely disgusted. Bought three chicken Marsala and two ham and cheese rolls. It took over an hour to make…I was told 40 minutes. This has happened before, but I usually enjoy the food, so I chose to overlook it. Then I can’t even enjoy my food because it literally pooling with oil. $86 to not be able to eat hardly any of it.
