Tacos should not be complicated and Henry's is one of my favorite places to go. I just love their tacos and their take on the soft taco. Their hot sauce is hard to beat. For reals. Very kind of old school. FYI...cash only but they have an ATM in the back patio.
Fantastic tacos. We usually get 3-4 tacos each and sit at the one of the outside dining areas. They also have their house made taco sauce!!!

Amazing tacos, amazing people, wish there was more room to park so everyone could come here.
Surprised to see people hating, I think its because Henry's is so far removed from street tacos and that realm (no wall of salsas, simple shells, just ground beef, no limes, no things to put on it like chopped onions/cilantro). But coming from Texas, their kind of tacos are common, and are exactly what I wanted. I love that the menu isn't crazy, they do what they do, and they do it right. And if I highlight one thing, they actually shred their sharp cheddar cheese. It's not pre-shredded, not coated, just a great flavor. Try em.

Henry's Tacos is a good place for a quick bite to eat after walking around the other shops along tujunga near here. They have a few tables outside to sit at which are nice when in the shade. I had a couple hard tacos and loved them. All the ingredients tasted fresh. The ground beef had a great flavor to it and the Crunchy Taco Shell was great quality and didn't fall apart. The employee that took our order was poliete and helpful. Only downside that some may find is this is a cash only business. I will definitely stop by here in the future when I am nearby.
This place was recommended by someone who grew up in the area. It lived up to the hype and reminded me of the tacos my Greek mom made for me growing up. I'm already plotting what I'll get there next time I go.

Unfortunately the service quality and food hasn’t met expectations. I have been eating Henery’s for over 40 years. I still stop in for their coke with crushed ice, taco and burrito. Their taco sauce is still scrumptious!! It was a neighborhood taco stand for us kids that served us food with love. The staff was always fantastic and friendly. So It’s in nostalgic thing for me to do
This place is super basic and straightforward, just look at how simple the menu is and you'll see that there aren't tons of options and customizations here. It's simple tacos and burritos, but if you like no frills, it's very satisfying. The prices are super cheap (cash only) and the portions are small, but I just discovered this place a week ago and have already been back a few times. They basically have ground beef, beans, shredded cheddar, onions, lettuce, tomatoes, hot sauce and tortillas (or hard taco shells), and whatever you can make with those ingredients. I'm a fan and see myself going back many times in the future. It's just a walk up window with some patio seating in the back, so hopefully that prepares you for what to expect.
Good American style tacos. Red salsa is the best!

Not that many options for tacos, they only seemed to have beef. The ground beef was kinda dry and I heard microwave beeps which might be from reheating? I’ve also never seen a taco place with no limes... the food was still tasty but there are better places for sure!

It was not as good as taco bell and for the price, it just doesnt seem worth it.. We tried the hard tacos, soft tacos and burrito. Even the salsa was meh. The staff was nice though.
Finally went here after talking about it for 10 years with my wife. They had moved from their long time location on the corner of Moorpark and Tujunga to about 200 feet away on Tujunga to the south. Parking on the street is impossible but there are spaces available around the back. There are 3 tables with chairs in the front and more in the back in a covered area. The menu is simple with Tacos, Burritos, and Tostadas. We tried all three. Be prepared as they only accept Cash. Service was friendly and quick. The food was good however they are small portions and of average flavor. Nothing remarkable here however the prices are quite reasonable. I would place the food quality similar to fast food quality. We enjoyed finally trying Henry's Tacos. Now my wife can stop pestering me to try this location.
I am disappointed to write this review. I truly wanted to enjoy my visit today, even with my husband grumbling in my ear about how awful Henry's Tacos is, and why do I make him take me here (because I have had it since I was a 90s NoHo kid). They didn't give me much ammo to rebuttal his arguments. First off, the hard shell tacos are different than what they used to be: way less cheese (albeit grated the same way), a tiny (roma?) tomato slice (they used to be huge beefsteak tomatoes that filled the shell), not much lettuce to fill the void of less cheese and onion, the beef and grilled onion mixture is about the same, but the kicker today: they changed the shell. The shell makes a hard shell taco and the shells tasted unpleasant and had a worse texture that was puffy and crumbled with every bite. At least you can't screw up the flavor of fresh vegetables, which they still have. The softshell tacos for $1.50 more are not worth the extra cost. They have the same amount (or less) of the hard shell fillings and the cold flour tortilla leaves so much to be desired. The cashier with too much lip filler asked us to unfold our cash (2x10,1x5,1x1) which was just odd - don't accept cash if you don't want to count it out or handle it or work at a place that is cash only. They also charge 50c for each sauce over the number of food items ordered and take that very seriously for even one more sauce (they don't count a $3 coke as an item). Save money and disappointment and go to Cactus in the former Henry's location across the street- much better with heaping piles of guac.

Very Disappointed! Another loss to shrinkflation. Quality and quantity have seriously declined. Hardly any cheese, and lesser quality. I wouldn't mind paying the $3.50 each if they were like they used to be. What a shame, Henry's was a favorite for decades. Not saying that I won't come back, but not anytime soon.
My daughter and I just ate here. We use to go here years and years ago when she was little. Always so good and on point. Today was a huge disappointment to the point I don’t think we will ever be back. The rice wasn’t even edible. It was hard and stale with zero flavor. My tostadas lettuce was so gross. I felt like we ate cafeteria food. When you look forward to your food and it’s that gross. Please do better.

I use to like this place at its old corner location. This was this first time I've visited since it moved to here and it will be my last visit. I ordered 2 beef burritos and they are not anything like I remember them from the old location. They were very small in size considering the price they charged for them. The female employee working seemed like it was a bother to serve me. You're better off going to Taco Bell or Del Taco and at least get your monies worth.
I have been going to Henry’s tacos since about 2005. I understand they’ve had their ups and downs but the tacos have always been the best. I went today and couldn’t have been more disappointed. The tacos had maybe a tablespoon of meat, a tablespoon of cheese, a little lettuce and a razor thin half slice of tomato….the rest was empty.. like 1/2 of a taco. Two of the tacos were completely in pieces. I don’t know if there are new owners or what… but it was horrible. I brought two friends who had never been there and talked it up the entire ride from Santa Clarita. What a joke. What a shame… they used to be so good.
Really lousy tacos. We got one soft and one hard shell and neither was good. Although the soft shell was particularly bad. The crispy one felt like an overpriced Taco Bell homage. The soft one with boring ground beef, cheap cheese, and a poorly folded tortilla was just inedible. The house salsa was just a mild red sauce that lacked any flavor whatsoever.
I literally just spent $7 for a 7-Eleven burrito. 🤢🤮
Apparently under new ownership. Ordered my food thinking it was the same as it had always been. Asked for two sauces per item, the woman taking my order said only one sauce. I proceeded to say I’ve been coming here for many years and I’ve always gotten two sauces. She pretended to give me the sauce handed me my bag and it broke. I asked for another bag, picked my things up off the ground went home. Opened my taco and inside was half of what’s usually inside! I called to complain and she told me there is no one to complain to because they own it now. Well I’m complaining to you the consumer. I really liked Henry’s, but I don’t spend my money at places where the people are rude, and the food is no longer at the level it use to be. Way to ruin Henry’s legacy and reputation. I won’t be eating there again.
