The food was absolutely fabulous...hats off to the chef. I had fish tacos with a crispy slaw and a mango salsa and my sister-in-law law had the fish with jasmine rice and broccoli. We both had the lemon raspberry cheese cake for dessert. Our server was sweet, helpful and around just enough. We sat out on the water for a late afternoon lunch and thoroughly enjoyed the view. The boats in the harbor were beautiful and we enjoyed the wilfe a d flora as well.

Everything was really good with nice presentation and great service. Cocktails were very well done also and tasted great. Atmosphere is very clean and comfortable with great views.

Found another gem this weekend. As is our habit now, my father-in-law and I went out for a drive exploring new places. On the way back we stopped for a late lunch at Wickford on the Water. Valet parking out front made it much easier for my mobility-impaired FIL to get in the restaurant. Big 👍 for having valet service. We started outside on the harborside dock and on a better day this would've been beautiful. Rain, however, drove us inside. But there was nothing disappointing about the move indoors. We found a quaint, nautically themed dining room. We both started with the New England Clam Chowder. I had the Blackened Cod on a bed of white rice with seasoned broccoli and Dad had the Summer Grilled Cheese with bacon & tomato. We both agreed the Chowder was a winner. Creamy with the right amount of clams and a healthy portion. My Cod was one of the best pieces of fish I've had in quite some time. It tasted like they had just reeled it in off the docks in back. And while I'm not normally a big fan of broccoli, the seasoning and grated cheese on top made it a net plus on an already fantastic plate. Dad's grilled cheese (Swiss & Brie) was in his words "the best grilled cheese I've ever had".

Our second visit, and we loved it again. We had various dishes of seafood and meat, and everything was really good. The hot lobster roll was delicious. The cod was really good too, as well as the fish and chips. And the burger was tender and juicy. I had 2 different cocktails, and they were well balanced

Our waiter, Sam (I think was his name,) was phenomenal! Very attentive, offered some great recommendations on the menu and just overall great waiter!!

We absolutely love coming here! It is a must whenever we are in town. The food is great and the staff are always friendly! You can’t beat dining on their beautiful outdoor deck and patio. We even love to bring our dog along! Highly recommend for good food, views, and drinks!

I have been here before and there is definitely a reason I keep coming back every time I am in the area. The waitstaff is very kind and accommodating, the food comes out timely, and even with my dietary restrictions, the chef is understanding and accommodating as well. I love sitting at the bar and having a working lunch. It certainly feels like you are in your own home on the water. It's cozy but not super squished together. Truly an inviting space. I got the Lemon martini and the blackened fish. So good!! You can easily spend less than I did too. The prices are certainly on point with the quality, atmosphere and service. Their salads are also really good and I was also contemplating the Turkey & Brie. YUM!

We are frequent visitors to Wickford village. We live in Connecticut and it was our first dining experience in the village. Weather was good so myself and my wife decided to have lunch in this restaurant. We preferred outside on the deck to have our food. Our hostess was Amelia , very friendly, courteous and helpful. Ordered fish and chips on the recommendation of Amelia and it was good choice. My wife ordered Cod. Again it was perfect choice. Good portions and finely cooked. Really enjoyed our stay by the water front and our meals. Visiting again definitely.

What a great first stop after getting off the plane for our first trip to Rhode Island! We had to have some new England Cod which DID NOT disappoint! Tried this crazy thing called unsweet tea haha also delicious. The cheesecake was phenomenal, I was a little surprised by a lent menu but it looked great and the view was just perfect. Thank you for the warm welcome

Outstanding overall experience! What an amazing setting on the water. My Connecticut lobster roll was wonderful; my daughter loved the fish & chips. Their mango coleslaw was exquisite. They do all the little things perfectly! Paired my meal with a great local beer plus their choice of music was great. Best dining experience I have had in years!!

Overlooking Wickford Harbor in North Kingstown, Rhode Island, Wickford on the Water pairs coastal dining with postcard views of boats drifting by. The restaurant’s deck stretches right over the water, making it one of the best spots in town for a lazy brunch or sunset dinner. The menu focuses on New England seafood and seasonal comfort food — lobster rolls, grilled swordfish, and house cocktails that match the harbor’s easy rhythm. Inside, the space blends modern touches with a classic seaside feel that fits perfectly in historic Wickford Village. It’s a place where time slows down — gulls circling above, sailboats bobbing nearby, and the scent of salt air mixing with fried clams and lemon. Whether you come for the view or the food, Wickford on the Water captures that effortless charm unique to Rhode Island’s small harbors. #wickfordri #rhodeislandcoast #seafood #newenglandtravel #wickfordonthewater

I wish I lived here. I wanted to try this place last year but our visit didn't permit much exploring. We had this tonight tho and ordered the clam chowder and clam cakes. They were absolutely delicious! Staff was friendly and the atmosphere was chill. Weather was perfect for a little sunset appetizer. They have outdoor seating with plenty of heaters to keep you cozy.

Everything was delicious! I ordered the sloppy Joe and it was my favorite Sloppy Joe ever ! Even though visually it doesn't look like it. I also had the broccoli with garlic and parmesan and it was soooo good! Best broccoli I've had at a restaurant ever. The caesar salad was also light and delicious. This place is bursting with flavor and foodiness! Also the service was incredible, fast and efficient!

The food was absolutely delicious. Staff was friendly. They have great options for outdoor seating as well. We got the Calamari Balsamic for an app, and then The Jan with added chicken, and the Shannie Burger!

Good choices. Enjoyed the tuna tacos, comes with three. Friends enjoyed scallops and sides. Blackened cod not too spicy and two friends enjoyed that and the vegetables. Nice waitstaff. Sangria was good but very large and $12. It was raining but normally the outside is pretty.

Wickford on the Water is a fantastic local restaurant in Wickford Village. The ambience is perfectly seaside. The restaurant sits adjacent to the water and you can smell the salt air as you sit outside on the deck. Tonight we started with some drinks. I had the raspberry mule(of my gosh is it delucia deliciously tasty), my wife had the red sangria which was awesome, my daughter had a Shirley Temple and my mom had a cabernet-J.Lohr. Our apps were: 2 cups of clam chowder, 3 shrimp cocktail, and balsamic glazed calamari with a half dozen clam cakes- which actually had clams inside. Our dinners were a cheeseburger, fish and chips, salmon and fish tacos. The food was so good it's almost a sin to talk about.

Stopped in for dinner drinks and apps...best calamari I've ever had and I've had alot. I'm the Sam Malone of calamari. We enjoyed the atmosphere the view and the service, our server Sofia was awesome! Definitely going back here again. Highly recommend going out of your way to stop here.

On our tour of New England we landed in the town of Wickford, RI for an evening because USA Today listed it is the number one small town in America. We walked downtown while we waited for our table at Wickford on the Water. The service was great. The food was delicious! I ordered the lobster cobb salad which was out of this world. Everything on it was the Beast it could possibly be. It was not a cheap salad because of the lobster meat but it was 100% worth it. I highly recommend dining here on your way through RI or more frequently if you live closer.

What an amazing eating experience! Was seated on the back patio by the water due to having a puppy. Great area of shaded tables, view of marina and breezes. Ordered Prince Edward Island Mussels and can honestly say it’s the best mussels dish I’ve ever had! Girlfriend ordered Ahi Tina Tacos and was very impressed. The Berry Lemon Sangria was delish too!

We came to Wickford in the Water for two dinners while staying in the area. Outdoor deck is great if the weather is good. They do have some portable heaters. Inside is great as well. Our servers Raven and Halie were friendly, appropriately attentive, and made our experience even better. Enjoyed the fall food and drink menus, especially the fall Sangrias !

Great location in the quant village of Wickford, RI. Friendly staff- our server Niles was great! The food is fresh and delicious. I recommend the fish tacos and a blueberry lemonade sangria to accompany it-so refreshing.

One of my favorites in Wickford. I love it here. I have to admit that I got a lobster roll and as good as it tasted it was only lightly filled with lobster for $29 I wouldn't order it again but everything else was superb. Great ambiance and views.

Beautiful place to enjoy a meal in scenic Wickford. Outdoor seating facing the water and boats available. The chicken dinner was flavorful, tender with not a crumb left on the plate. Highly recommend a visit

GF Clam Chowdah. What can I say? Not many places can a celiac eat proper Chowdah. Great food in general and GF options galore.

I love this place ❤️ My husband and I celebrated our anniversary and the birth of our baby at this spectacular restaurant, and everything was 10/10. We'd been there before, but this was the first time we've used their new patio area in the back, which was excellent. The atmosphere and service are exceptional, the staff always smiling and very helpful. Their new menu is incredible; you really wouldn't know what to order with so many delicious options. I would definitely come back again and again.

We had a wonderful time at Wickford on the Water today! We just stopped in for a light lunch and we all ended up ordering soup. The lobster bisque, although delicious (so much butter!), was a little short on lobster. The clam chowder was everything chowder should be. The best thing about our visit was our server, Sandy. Thanks for the

Waterfront spot in wickford village. Outdoor seating was quite pleasant with harbor view on beautiful Sunday afternoon. - Prince Edward Island mussels $25 Sautéed mussels served in garlic butter sauce with caramelized onions, tomatoes, garlic bread. Full of flavor and tasty, but a bit too salty and mussels were rather small. Garlic bread was perfectly grilled, unlike most places serving them hard as a brick! -Avocado chicken $26 Cilantro lime marinated grilled chicken rubbed with spices, over coconut bacon scallion jasmine rice, avocado corn salad. Was delightful, small portion though. -Fish & chips $20 Liked how it was lightly battered and fresh, but again small portion. Would love to return to sit at the bar for drinks with harbor view.

Beautiful view of Wickford marina/inlet, waitress and assistant were good. Mussels very flavorful and cooked perfectly, my son's chowder also very good. He loved his mahi mahi sandwich, my wife and I enjoyed the blackened cod with coconut rice and broccoli.

The lobster wedge salad had lots of blue cheese dressing, lots of blue cheese crumble, and lots of bacon- that included lots of fatty bacon bits. I picked those out. The lobster was delicious. The mussels were my favorite- so delicious but be warned they were very salty- I like salt and even I thought they were a bit too salty. The bread that was served with the mussels was perfect! The strawberry salad was standard (it had a glaze on it plus the vinaigrette on the side. I would definitely return for the mussels. We let our server know that the chef should know the mussels were VERY salty- we’ll see about next time. The drinks were strong, good, but I needed a bit more pineapple juice to manage finishing mine. The key lime pie was fantastic!

Great place on the water. Portion sizes are good - what we should be eating- so don’t expect a huge meal. Food was good - service was prompt and friendly - didn’t blink an eye when we asked for separate checks. I had the bruschetta chicken sandwich. The hummus plate was good and the shrimp salad was fresh. Reservations are quirky- outside is first come first served - inside takes reservations but it must be held with a credit card and it is charged if 20 if someone doesn’t show up unless you change it more than 2 days in advance. Food wasn’t that good to have that reservation policy and in the summer they would be able to fill the tables, in my opinion.

Nice atmosphere. My party had the dijon salmon - good; tuna melt - so so (it came not hot enough) lobster roll - good; veggie burger - good; PEI mussels were a hit. My friend who ate the veggie burger said it had a very good taste. Good water views. The waitress said that there's an otter and a heron that come around some times. Maybe you'll see them; we didn't. Also the back deck seems to be where people with dogs go. Good info in case you don't like dogs or want to bring one.

We chose this restaurant for it's outside seating as we had our dog with us. We enjoyed our food, their chowder was very good and enjoyed the other items we ordered. They offer a dog menu and my dog enjoyed his chicken breast he ordered.

I got clam chowder and it tasted fresh and yummy. Daughter had grilled cheese and beautifully sliced apples. Grandma got a salad. On a sunny day, sitting outside is perfect. Waitstaff very attentive and a great place overall.

R
Ritch Sternbach

To sum it up in one word- disappointing! The host staff were excellent and so was the wait staff. Very attentive to our needs whether it be water refills, beer refills, or simply clearing empty plates. Unfortunately the food overall was a huge disappointment. The only item that was good was the loaded tater tots. The balsamic calamari was soggy and chewy. Seared tuna tacos were quite bland although the tuna was seared perfectly. The fish tacos were equally bland with literally a handful of cabbage on top of fried fish strips. It desperately needed something to spice it up or bring out some flavor other than fried fish because the Mango salsa was only a spoonful of cubed mango. The tequila lime chicken was decent but again seemed to be missing a boost which the lime crema did not provide. For dessert we all split a slice of chocolate cake and key lime pie. The chocolate cake was good because it was not too sweet. And all of us enjoyed the key lime pie immensely. Overall I would easily trade the ambience of eating by the water for an tasty meal...

The outside tables at which we were sat were a bit close for a guy using a walker, but we managed. The buratta appetizer was very good, although the peaches were not ripe. My Ceasars salad was okay# but the lettuce was warm and wilted. The fish and chips were not good. The fish batter was too thick, too greasy, and a bit overdone. The homemade tartar sauce was a pass. It needs a tart bite to it, like with onions or citrus. It tasted too much like the greasy breading already on the fish. Thankfully, the breading mostly fell off the fish, making the fish edible and tasty. It's not a memorable experience except to avoid it next time in RI.

Pleasant atmosphere and great service, the staff in the high top area by the harbor are super nice and efficient. There is some great captain’s daughter IPA on draft, but that’s where the goodies stop. The fish tacos were heavy and overwhelmed with the flavor of fried dough and the balsamic calamari were a bit goopy. The cooked lobster roll on brioche bun was not very flavorful, it seemed wrong that the lobster ended its days for this.

So the food is good. The issue I have is that they don't give you enough portion for the prices they charge. I ordered french toast. They served three small, thin pieces of bread. We've dined here twice for lunch and spent one hundred to one hundred twenty plus dollars. I also ordered a mimosa. When the server brought my glass to the table, it was half full. We most likely won't be back unless it's for the bucket of mussels. They were fantastic and worth the price.

After visiting a local beach, Wickford on the Water popped up as a Google suggestion for beach bars/restaurants. Very cute restaurant on the water with harbor views. Good place to stop after a beach day. It was very packed with the weather being nice out so my friends and myself grabbed seats at the bar with the views. I ordered the watermelon margarita, I thought it was ok, kinda basic. Presentation was simple, no craft cocktail. Parking is on street parking.

Live in town and have been going here occasionally for the past several years. The food is hit or miss depending on what I order. Ditto the ambiance - outside and the back room are nice, but the front room decor seems cold and minimalist to me. Today I had the salmon and the feta dip. The dip was excellent. The salmon was ok, but was supposed to come with mashed potatoes and instead came with white rice (they did not tell me about the change). The salmon was also supposed to come with roasted veggies and these were mostly partially-cooked carrots. The service was very nice throughout.

This restaurant was one of our top places for my friend and I to go. However, things have changed the last few times we have been here. The food is average including the lobster roll . We sat at the bar twice in the last month and not only was the food average but the two bartenders we encountered were unfriendly at best. So unfortunate because it's on the water and it could be so much better. We have learned our lesson and will not be back.

Beautiful location. Very good food and beautifully presented. However, unlike others that wrote reviews, we did not receive good service. M- a smile and being somewhat nice to your customers costs you nothing and would actually improve your compensation at the end ;)

Beautiful, crisp interior. My food wasn’t very flavorful unfortunately, & quite pricey for what I got, but my partners was much better. Service was subpar. I think it would be worth visiting again, maybe we just caught them on an off day…

Update— after 2 unpleasant experiences in a row here, I’ve sadly had to change my previous rating. Again, the server did not mention the loaded tot dish is burning hot. I learned my lesson last time but this needs to be said to every table that orders it. The night we went had a possibility of rain but we sat outside, which was the only option. The wind started to pick up and they had to put the umbrellas down. When we asked about what would happen if it rained, the manager said it wasn’t his concern- he just had to prevent injuries from the umbrellas in the wind. As soon as our food arrived, it began raining. My mom told them we needed to be inside. We had to carry our own food in and were seated in the corner of the bar, and trapped in by the chairs of the table behind us. Our food was cold and wet. When my mom spoke to the manager, he insisted on remaking my fish but by that point, I didn’t even want to eat there. The manager argued with my mom about what had happened and why he couldn’t move us inside (tables he said were reserved remained open the entire time we were inside). Also, the priority should be the paying customers who are there and have ordered over a reservation which may or may not show up. The fish was also burnt and greasy that night. The lack of concern for our experience and total lack of a plan for heavy rain along with the unprofessional way the manager interacted with us was off-putting. There are a million restaurants in the area and we will be choosing, trying, and recommending other options from now on. I have eaten here every time I’ve visited Rhode Island. There can be a wait if you want to eat outside but the little Main Street is a cute spot to walk while you do. I love the loaded tater tots as an appetizer. Last time, they forgot to remind me that the ceramic serving dish was crazy hot and I burnt my finger. I love their salads, the Rueben sandwich, and my favorite is the fried fish. The batter has a great flavor and texture and I love the slightly spicy sauce with it. It’s the same sauce as the loaded tots. The summer chicken sandwich was ok and I loved the aioli but I probably wouldn’t order it again. I prefer the turkey with Brie sandwich. My mom loves their salad, tater tots, tuna melt, mashed potatoes, and Cole slaw. I wish there was a dessert menu with some variety (I think they have only had one option when we’ve asked and it wasn’t something that interested us). I haven’t tried any of the more classic seafood dishes. I love sitting by the water and having a relaxing meal here. I celebrated my birthday here and my mom celebrated hers as well when we visited from out of state.

Wait Staff: 5/5 Seating Staff: 0/5 Vibes: 2.5/5 Food: 1/5 this place has been on my list to try for a hot minute! i looove the wickford village and from the outside looking in, i thought this place would be like the mooring in newport. it is unfortunately not like it and not a place i'll recommend. we came in after the wickford art festival during an in-between slow meal time on a saturday. the deck was empty with the exception of a few people at the bar and a couple tables seated in the corner facing the view. we were a party of 2 and seated away from the view next to a wall. the seating staff informed us that the deck section was over-seated. our waitress came over promptly and was super kind and the only saving grace of the experience. we watched as three more groups of 2-3 people were seated in the table we wanted. my friend went back to ask the seating staff if there's something going on and why we were isolated to a wall, and they said they need to speak to management for ten minutes then get back to us. we were tempted to leave but our server had put in our food and we wanted to appropriately compensate her service. they re-seated us but were not very warm about it. we ordered a blackened shrimp caesar salad, ahi tuna tacos, and clam chowder. the shrimp was not blackened, it was seasoned and tasted steamed. it was also $23 but the shrimp were small. for reference, newport charges that market price but it's colossal shrimp so makes sense. the ahi tuna was not seared as described in the menu and just had everything but the bagel seasoning on it. the clam chowder separated, and was not digestible about 5 minutes in. so disappointed and left feeling sad about the experience, didn't finish our food and left to another restaurant. i wish it were better because i still love wickford but :(

Sunday morning 1200. Just a 15 minute wait. Server (tad-chad-Sam?) stopped by for drink order and once after food came. He ordered hash wrap and coffee. The wrap was good but the hash brown side was cold and stale. I got the muffin bake hold the butter. He got one cup of coffee no refill. Mine came with the butter on top. When the server stopped by we told him the issues and he said “what do you want me to do?” Okay… other tables may have gotten better service- don’t know and probably won’t find out. Not coming back.

Went for dinner for my mother's 83rd birthday. My mother had chowder and clamcakes which she enjoyed. I ordered the Brussel Sprout salad. It was bitter and extremely rough. No one ever checked on us. When the check was brought to our table, our server never even asked why I didn't touch my salad...just brought our bill. I still left a 20% tip...but will not return. We were the only people in the restaurant and I would have loved to change my meal...except that wasn't even an option. And a cake was not even offered...as they never checked on us.
