Opinions de Birdie Bar Northport
Had such a great evening. The spring rolls were crispy with the perfect amount of chicken in every bite. The atmosphere was charming and clean. The holiday decorations made it feel very comfortable. The staff was extremely attentive which was amazing with the amount of patrons packed in this quaint spot on a Thursday night.
Birdie Bar is the place to be. As soon as you walk in, you feel you are in a classy Manhattan lounge. It is the gem of Northport. We had the spring rolls, short rib nachos, tuna tartare, and a few delicious cocktails that were all made impeccably and with the utmost detail and presentation. Kyle, the owner, is a charming, welcoming, presence that caters to your every need while there. The bartenders, waiters, and hosts, as well. We cannot wait to go back to Birdie Bar for our next night out or happy hour! Thanks, Kyle!
Took my wife for lunch the other day @ BB and it was decorated very nicely for Christmas. We had the wing combo as an app and the Thai Chili OG wings were delicious. I had the smashburger that was very tasty but a little messy but who cares. Staff was extremely pleasant and I felt it was a nice cozy atmosphere. We will be back
What a hidden gem on Long Island. We will certainly be back. The service on a busy Saturday night was exceptional and very personal - our server Glenn was very attentive. The food was delicious and so flavorful and the drinks were perfectly made with care and made you feel like you were on vacation. The atmosphere is perfect for a date night - the decor is fun to look at and classy. We were treated so well by the staff and awesome bartender Brent and we will gladly return again and again.
10/10 all around! I’ve been here twice and both times were out of bounds. The staff is all attentive and friendly. The food comes out quick and is absolutely delicious. To call this just bar food is a complete disservice. It’s so elevated and everything we’ve tried so far is absolutely delectable. On top of it we came for a date night and I asked for a rose and they gave us a whole bouquet. Now that’s top notch service ! We will back again and again.
BELIEVE THE HYPE! What a fun new spot! Beautifully decorated, great music, and the food is over the top! What we got and all were amazing! Apps: Burrata and tomato salad Spring rolls Sliders Birdie wings Bread and butter Main coarse: French dip (amazing) Steak frittes Blackened halibut Dessert: Ice cream sunday Berries and cream Drinks: Old fashion Fake ID (mock tail) Daze and confused (mock tail) Trust me when I say it’s worth the wait!
Waited a while and finally tried this gem out tonight. Been a big fan of robkes for years and this restaurant did NOT disappoint. Wow!!! Starting with the bar, all the drinks were spot on. EVERY. TIME. A few of us even ordered multiple of the same drink and it was always consistent (which sounds silly to mention but definitely important). Both of the specials they ran tonight (ribs and burrata) were delicious. I had the skirt steak, and I am VERY picky about my steak. This was out of this world. Sliced and seasoned beautifully with a side of the most amazing house fires. My friends and I were all beyond happy with what we ordered. Our waitress was attentive and sweet. Definitely a great night and will most DEFINITELY be back.
My wife and I recently had the pleasure of enjoying a mom-and-dad date night at Birdie Bar in Northport, and it was nothing short of fantastic. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and a welcoming atmosphere that set the tone for the evening. The food was exceptional. I ordered the French dip, which was tender, juicy, and had just the right amount of kick. It’s clear that the kitchen takes great care in crafting each dish. But the real standout for us was the mocktails. As my wife is six months pregnant, she was thrilled to find that their mocktails are not just an afterthought but a true work of art. Each one was beautifully crafted, and she absolutely loved it. The staff were all incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed without being overbearing. The ambiance was perfect for a relaxed and enjoyable night out. We highly recommend Birdie Bar for anyone looking for a great meal and a wonderful experience. It’s definitely a spot we’ll be returning to!
One of the best chill bars/ restaurants on Long Island, I love it because I can enjoy a great cocktail and food without feeling like I have to dress snobby and act snobby, just a place for locals to come and have a good time! 10/10 recommend hits every time
This place is really cool! Real Long Island vibes in a coastal town. Check out Downtown then grab dinner and a quality cocktail here! Would highly recommend the espresso Martini as it was the best I have ever tried. Lively yet intimate vibes
Love it, today was the first day I went there. I had the flounder piccata, absolutely fresh and delicious. Extremely friendly wait staff. Thank you for a wonderful experience.
I love everything about this place. Huge thank you to Chef Antonio for simply being the kindest human. Birdie bar holds a special place for me. Staff is always on point. I recommend everyone comes here 😊
We had such a wonderful experience at The Birdie Bar last night! Our server, Drew, was absolutely outstanding. From the moment we sat down, he went above and beyond to make sure our family felt welcome and taken care of. His personality and sense of humor kept us laughing the entire evening, and he checked in often to make sure everything was perfect. Food was amazing! And the drinks were delicious! Would definitely recommend & will be returning!
We went there after going to Robkes for lunch just to check it out and had a delicious drink and drew the bartender gave us an amazing brownie desert. FYI Robkes food was incredible also. Great people high quality food. Will be having lunch here next!!!
Food prices and service were great. Unfortunately when I was there they had a fly issue there weecon the middle of dealing with that took the overall experience down a little. I'm sure they well hand that handled soon if not already. Definitely suggest going.
Wonderful restaurant and bar in nopo! Got the espresso martini (delicious) and their specialty drink— peach mule (also delicious). The French onion soup was amazing— had a great topping of fried onions. The chopped smashburger salad… 🤤 we were recommended smashburger by our lovely waitress and cannot say enough. The Caesar salad was okay. Didn’t have time to grab dessert but hope to be back to try more from the menu. Great service and cozy atmosphere.
Birdie Bar totally blew me away. The place has an awesome vibe — cozy, stylish, and beautifully decorated for Christmas. The food was delicious, the mocktails were on point, and the staff couldn’t have been nicer. It’s the kind of place you leave already planning your next visit. Highly recommend!
The atmosphere was so cozy and decorated for the holidays. We were seated without reservations. The food and service was amazing. Highly recommend this local establishment.
Loved this place; everyone in my group enjoyed everything they ordered! The cinnamon buns were delicious and warm as described. 😋 the pumpkin spiced espresso martini was my favorite; I made it a face. I can't wait to go back when they have more fall items.
Such a great spot for food! Quick service and always refilled glasses! Food was absolutely super! One of the best spots for a smash burger and fries on Long Island that I’ve had! Very bad parking though.. had to park across the street.
Birdie Bar truly has it all… ambiance, exceptional food, and top notch service. I visited for the first time yesterday, and it was a flawless experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was lively and welcoming, the food was outstanding, and to top it off, the Knicks won! It couldn’t have been a better night. I am so happy that we were seated at the bar, best view of the TV’S!! Drew provided impeccable service.. he was attentive, friendly, and genuinely knowledgeable. It made the experience that much more enjoyable. Attached you’ll see the shrimp scampi special and the chicken picante entree. They were absolutely delicious!!! Perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. The chicken was butter soft!!!! I can’t wait to come back and explore more of the menu. If you’re looking for a place that checks every box, Birdie Bar is it. I’m already looking forward to my next visit!! Thank you!!!
Birdie Bar is fantastic! Great food, amazing drinks, and top notch service. Can’t wait to go back!
We stopped by for drinks and apps prior to a show. It was suggested to us while we were visiting the area. We sat at the bar and the staff was attentive, charming and ready to offer suggestions and to answer our questions. They had one mixologist and he was very good at his job! The drinks were tasty and exactly as described in their menu. We tried the tuna tartar and it was fresh and delicious. The decor is mostly golf related as you would imagine from the name Birdies...decor was tastefully done. This is charming spot for drinks, apps and we will be back to try the dinner menu.

Well dont know where to start... From the awesome servers to the atmosphere this is a definite place to have on ur list. We had the Rib Eye special with the Mac and Cheese. This is a knock your socks off meal cooked to perfection and the creamy Mac and Cheese was amazing.

Loved this place! I am pregnant so my husband and I came for lunch on New Year’s Eve and the service was fantastic! The server was so considerate that I was pregnant when I ordered my mocktail and she did a great job with spacing out our meal. Food was amazing! We ordered a few appetizers to share- coconut shrimp, nachos and the skirt steak quesadilla. All amazing! You can tell the quality of food is very high and they care. 100% recommend!
The atmosphere is fun, lively, and welcoming. It’s perfect for just stopping in for drinks, food, or a great night out. What truly made our visit was the incredible service. Our server, Ankit, was outstanding, friendly, attentive, & genuinely made sure we had an amazing time. Great vibes, great service, and great people. We’ll definitely be back and asking for Ankit again
I visited Birdie Bar for a late lunch. It was a great experience! It's clubby and welcoming. Our drinks from the bar were great, and our apps and entrees were top notch. We splurged and shared a dessert which was excellent too. All around, it was what we hoped for as we decided to try it.

Delicious food and great decor and vibe. Waitress was sweet but kept forgetting orders and utensils and dropping things. The bus boys were great and picked up the slack but there seems to be a disconnect between the kitchen and the servers. Missing plates on tables and wrong silverware or no silverware at all. Table next to us sat with their food for 5 plus minutes until someone brought them silverware. We never got our nachos but it wasn’t on the bill so we just left it. Could’ve just been our server.
Finally tried birdie bar! Food was awesome, not sure if it was an off day or not but service was close to non-existent. Sat for a long time before anyone came over, the honey deuce drink special didn't have the tennis ball garnish. Apps were dropped off without any plates. Dinner was a quick drop again without any side plates. The bartender who was waiting on our table seemed swamped but there were other employees much less busy, not sure if this is the norm but it's a shame because the food really was amazing!

Went for dinner. Great atmosphere. We went early and we were seated upstairs (downstairs was a little loud. Happy hour) quiet and comfortable. Our waiter was wonderful. Food was amazing. I had beef welkin husband had chicken both came with potatoes, so so good.
Drinks are fantastic, food is great, terrific cozy atmosphere - I love coming here EXCEPT the service is ALWAYS, no matter what day of the week or time it is, SO slow. If they had truly ONE more server upstairs it would be a game changer.

So this one is tough. My girlfriend took me out for my birthday. This place looked amazing. Small, cozy but vibrant. Decorated for Christmas beautifully. They have that vibe going, it was packed. We waited 40 minutes for a table, no reservations. I had one of the most amazing Smokey Old Fashioned I've ever had, top notch bartender. And that's where the fun stopped. For some reason one of the bartenders was our waiter at our table. We never were read the specials or had gotten bread. When asked about bread, he said he told us but we refused??? Whatever, I said bring it now and I must have not heard you. He said fine. (We never got the bread) We knew there were specials only because the very same waiter was waiting on a very important table next to us and they had the ultimate service. Not sure who they were but the way they were treated, the were very special. We didn't get the same treatment. We actually rarely even saw or got to speak to our waiter. A bug flew in my girlfriend's wine and she ended up drinking it anyway after I fished him out because he literally never came back over. We skipped dessert for my birthday and left to have it somewhere else down the road. A bad experience and unfortunately, since my girlfriend was paying, a very small tip to show the dissatisfaction. The food was amazing and I wanted to love it. I just had a bad taste. Maybe you'll have a better experience. It has tons of potential as it was very crowded. I'll chalk it up as a bad night.
my boyfriend and i came here for the first time this past summer and LOVED it, amazing food and drinks and great service! we live about an hour away but decided to come back for my birthday since it was a special occasion, and we were so excited for dinner! unfortunately though the service this time around was nothing like our previous visit - our waitress never introduced herself, never told us the specials for the night, just immediately asked “are you guys ordering any drinks?”….odd start but we figured she might be busy! our apps came and were great! but nobody cleared our side plates and instead just dumped our entrees and left them hanging off the edge of the table. super awkward and left us no space to eat. when we finished out entrees we asked to have our leftovers wrapped up to take home, and only half came back to the table, and the other half were presumably thrown out. super disappointing since some of the food had barely been touched. our waitress dropped the check on our table before we even finished dessert. and dessert didn't come out with a candle or anything! very bizarre. we felt rushed the entire time despite having a 5 PM reservation on a monday night…would understand more if they were swamped during the dinner rush on a weekend night, but this just felt unnecessarily rude. spent almost $200 and left without half of our leftovers and just a bizarre experience overall. was super sad given how far we had to drive to get to the restaurant, and how excited i was for my birthday dinner! food is great but service was pretty poor this time around, not sure we’ll be back - such a shame!

So if you dont know the back story this establishment is owned by the same family as Robke's. This may explain why there are no pasta dishes on the menu. I like pasta .. my wife likes steak and it was her birthday so Birdies we went! My wifes Old Fashioned was good. The glass was occupied by a huge piece of ice. The drink may have been a light pour. Sticky ribs were good. Fall off the bone and just enough spice. This lead us to believe dinner would be just as good. It was not. My wifes skirt steak was cooked to medium as she order. It was tender BUT it was swimming in garlic ( heavy on the garlic ) oil. So much so that the oil was trapping the juice from the steak underneath! ( see the picture attached .. which looks nothing like the picture of the same dish taken by someone else. ) I ordered the filet. I wasnt going to pay $30 for a burger or $40 for a roast beef sandwich. Chicken and fish were also not an option for me. More then a quarter of my asparagus was burnt past being edible. If you have ever eaten a burnt piece of asparagus you know nothing short of a rusty trailer hitch will get that taste out of your mouth. The steak itself was cooked to a perfect medium and wasnt chewy. But the bordelaise was not a sauce at all. I think the attempt was a red wine compound butter but i believe it was an after thought. It never melted on the steak! I was left staring at this purple blob that resembled congealed vomit. Very unattractive. And now looking back there was no starch given on my plate! Look at the photo. Truffle fries were ok. They are battered and the truffle oil used is salty. This will leave you thirsty and on the way home looking for Chapstick from dehydration. Service was ok. We never really waited for food. But given the small anount of tables there really isnt a reason a table should wait. The restaurant is an old house so seating is limited. Because of the truffle fries i was left looking for anyone to refill my glass of water even with my empty glass sitting on the edge of the table. The universal sign for MORE WATER PLEASE. The real turn off for my wife was the linen napkins. Their napkin service provided Birdie with lint ridden clothes. My poor wifes black sweater looked like a hobos worn and tattered shirt when leaving. She was embarrassed to walk out of the restaurant. Ive checked and there is a restaurant less then a mile in the opposite direction of Robkes that offers the same menu and more for the same or less in price. You would be better off going there IMHO.
Stopped in for a drink and a couple apps on a Sunday eve. Cute place, pretty packed. Cocktails were good but still nothing to write home about. Service was very good, waitstaff was pleasant and attentive. We ordered truffle fries and the Brussel sprouts—both of which were terrible-dripping with oil. So so greasy and soggy fries. Kinda like when you fry something when the oil isn’t hot enough. Like you would get a mouthful of oil when you bit into the Brussels. Unfortunately would not go back.
Went there with a reservation for 7 people. Drinks came one at a time. One was totally forgotten. We kept asking waiter for the drinks. We ordered and the food came to three people, then 2 others, then one more person's. We waited patiently for the last petson's salad with shrimp. It finally came and we ate. Food was just ok, We were asked for second drinks, which some people ordered. We told the waiter it was my cousin's birthday. The waiter said, "You want the check?" My cousin said, " We would like desserts and coffees." We ordered and they xame quickly. The bill waz paid. When we were in the parking lot, the waiter came up to my couson and wished her a happy birthday. No candle on her dessert, but thectable next to us had one. I WILL NOT BE GOING BACK TO THE BYRDIE BAR. I do love Robkeys and will go there.
I have been to this restaurant. Couple of times and everything was good. However, I called to make a reservation for Thanksgiving giving and SPECIFICALLY asked if they have a gluten free menu. The woman on the phone (I wish I took down her name) said, “Yes we do. Pretty much everything can be made gluten free) I have been to many restaurants throughout LI and that is always what they tell me and we have never had a problem. Well, when my daughter asked for their GF menu she was told they don’t have one. I explained I asked before making the reservation and I was told they do. Needless to say it was too late to get a reservation anywhere else, so my daughter’s meal consisted of French fries and an alcoholic beverage. To da it was THE WORST Thanksgiving I ever had is an understatement.
Unbelievably disappointed. 6 people. No one liked the food. Service was unprofessional and sloppy. Not one of us will go back. We spent over $900. The beef Wellington was reheated. Absolutely horrible. I’m being kind with 2 stars.

I need to write such a scathing review, but after having had about 30% of the menu between four people, I can confidently say this is one of the worst restaurants I’ve been to. The food was bland and flavorless and dry. The drinks looked good, but tasted like vinegar. And probably the most shocking is the fries that came out soggy and cold. Oh and the banana split came with an unripe banana… It’s actually impressive that they managed to mess up french fries and ice cream. I cannot recommend this restaurant and for entrées that are more than $40. It’s just unconscionable. Save yourself from the disappointment and get a TV dinner and a tall boy; a considerably better experience.

The four of us went here last Saturday night. The atmosphere is really cozy and warm. However, we had a terrible time finding this place, the parking is horrible and not enough. Both bathrooms are unisex and gross with urine everywhere. You cannot tell who the servers are, they look like average customers. The prices are average. You cannot talk, it is that loud. Will not be returning.
The food was decent but overpriced. It took 45 minutes for two entrées to hit the table, despite there being only five tables in the entire restaurant. Unfortunately, the chef and owner seemed more focused on making social media content than on service efficiency. For that reason, I won’t be returning.
What a disappointment. The place is very noisy and dark. When I first walked in I got a bad vibe. The menu is all fried food , when I got my fish sandwich it was so tiny , and I don’t like to eat a lot of food but the fish was so small in the sandwich it was mostly chopped lettuce on a roll. When we first sat down my husband sat on a serving tray that the waitress left there and it was wet. The owner came over and said I will send something up to you and never saw him come back at all. The only good thing was ower waiter was very nice guy
Got there at 5:15 not crazy busy. Got a seat at the bar waiting for our table. Took the bartender 15 minutes just to come over and say hello. Then gave us the menus. 20 minutes later comes back. She exes me for a drink I order she gets it not even asking my husband. He gets a beer. Our tables are ready. We go and sit down. 20 minutes for the waiter to come over and say hello. Ordered an app so so not the greatest. We order our food. We waited until 7 o’clock to get off food. Mine was lukewarm. My husband‘s you could tell was just made because it was piping hot. I had the pork chop, which was supposed to be on the medium side. Was well done. We leave no dessert no nothing cause I wanted to get out of there. We go around the back and our waiter is in the little house over there. God knows what he was doing but as soon as he saw us, he ran back in. I live in Ronkonkoma and I just got home so you’re talking almost 2 hours to get seated a drink and food never will I go back to this restaurant again. Went to the other one that he owns Rockies and it was amazing. Not looking for anything just wanted to give my honest review. I will never know why the big hype is for this restaurant
Hard, hard pass. I rarely review restaurants however it offends me I had to spend money here. Birdie bar is exactly what I feared it would be, an overhyped local north shore wanna be Polo Bar. It took 5 years to receive even an appetizer and the staff was so kind apologizing for the wait which wasn’t their fault. The sauce for my dish never even came on the side as asked and the water refill I asked for never came until a bus boy saw I needed water 20 mins later. As someone who used to work in restaurants, there’s no communication between wait staff and bussers obviously . This place is a hard. pass. I could eat cheesy eggs with burnt sausage and burnt sweet potatoes somewhere else. I loveee that the people of northport don’t mind getting ripped off for below mediocre food and absolute poser city ambiance. Side note - the topping for cinnamon buns should not just be pure melted cream cheese with no other flavor but cream cheese. Just FYI!!!!!! 0/10 please go anywhere else ❤️❤️.
