Heard they had good bagels... It was true! 2nd visit Stopped in for hot chocolate with whipped cream... hit the cold spot perfectly.
Nice atmosphere! Great social distance outside dinning. Both cappuccino and latte are great, not too milky.
I’ve been going there for years. Great place and people.
Great customer service, delicious mocha, made the way I like it. Yummy food pairing. Spacious place to sit outside
Great coffee. Great quick breakfast spot. Everything is more than reasonably priced.
Great little spot to meet with friends and have a cup of your favorite hot or cold beverage.
Great customer service. Better coffee that they roast themselves! And even better lattés, cappuccinos, London Fogs, as well as great 5 layer bars, croissants, coffee cake, et cetera. TL;DR They serve some of the best coffee drinks and pastries they roast the beans themselves.daily, are affordable (as far as Marin goes) quick, polite & friendly!
Good coffee and pastry selection (including gluten free brownies and chocolate-dipped peanut butter cookies) Lots of outdoor seating and open front walls (I.e. good air flow). Very friendly and efficient staff who accommodates a caffeine lightweight like me with 1/2 caff and even 1/4 caff requests. Lots of regular customers which to me reconfirms they’ve got things pretty much dialed-in.
Need to claim your table if eating there. Autumn special tea beverage was excellent. Batista and check out are very nice and efficient. Depending on time of day, might be an order wait but never too long. If you want water, you need to ask for it when you order.
First time I have ever been there but I will definitely be back. The coffee was nice and strong and the flavor of the coffee was so good it didn't need cream or sugar. The flavor stood on it's own. Thank you for having such good coffee.
Had a little mix up ordering through the website. I ordered for a different location than anticipated. Tammy took care of me and squared everything away! Staff is super friendly. I got the frittata and it’s delicious! They even provide some hot sauce for those of us that like to add some spice! Ya’ll made my morning! Thank you!
One of my favorite independly owned coffee shops featuring baked goodies, coffee, and looseleaf teas. Some vegan and gluten free options. Outdoor seating is spaced well for privacy or bringing a dog.
Coffee is very good. Similar prices to other local coffee. Cortado was very good. Lots of variety specialty coffees available. Multi pastries and breakfast sandwiches.
I love Marin Coffee Roasters. They are always very friendly. I hope one day they would start offering Coconut Latte (Sol Food recipe ) have you tried it?That’s the best coconut latte in town BUT they don’t have it Decaf. So please please pretty please make Decaf Sol Food’s Coconut Late.
Nice atmosphere, nice employes and great coffee. Lots of choices. Out door seating is nice.. Saw lots of people ordering food. Looked delicious so next time I will order breakfast
Great place! Large variety of breakfast dishes and sweet and savory treats and so many coffee choices! Efficient and friendly service. Inside and outside seating. Highly recommend their lemon bars.
Coffee & espresso drinks are really great quality. Baristas are all really skilled (I would know as a former barista lol) & REALLY work hard. Shout out to the girl who made my soy dirty chai this morning, the foam was creamy & decadent, the espresso sweet & the chai the perfect amount of spiciness. Just P E R F E C T. ✨
Food is really good. Fair price for quality of food. This is now my go to location for a super burrito. Staff is always friendly and patient when I am placing my order. Restaurant is clean, nothing fancy. Outdoor tables available.
Novato is fortunate to have several excellent coffee roasters and Marin Coffee Roasters is one of them. Located in a sunny, vibrant shopping center they have the most wonderful staff serving an assortment of divine pastries, plenty of lunch items, and a wide selection of coffees, teas, and cold beverages. Lots of goodies to choose from! MCR is always busy but the lines move very quickly and whatever you order is served with a smile. Ask the accommodating baristas for specialty coffee recommendations as they are very creative with a delicious result. :)
The ice white mocha & chocolate croissants are my fav! Best coffees at Marin county's The owner and worker are very friendly and nice too! 10/10
Always great coffee - my current favorite - Winter White Chai Latte, made with almond milk - they have great food and snacks too! Today I decided on a berry scone to accompany my coffee - Delish!
Like the rest of Novato, MCR is very chill but delivers an excellent product. Their staff is at the top of the heap! Friendly, helpful and courteous has always been my experience interacting with MCR staff. The only thing that might upstage their staff would be their coffee. If you are burnt out on over roasted coffee that tastes too bitter then MCR is the place to check out. Additionally their treats and pastries leave the other corporate entities in the dust. If your looking for a more refined and personable coffee shop experience check out MCR. You won't be disappointed.
I own a coffee roasting company, so I frequently try coffees from other roasters. Walking in to Marin Coffee Roasters I was greated by Tammy (coowner) and was treated so warmly that the coffee was almost unimportant, But, the coffee is great!
Great place i grab my coffees to go usually. They have seating plenty of fun here love the people who work here so nice
Terrific coffee joint that I have been coming to for years. It dominantly still has the same ol' staff. It probably is my favorite local Marin County coffee joint. Also available is a pita bread sandwich for a small lunch which is actually substantial - and delicious.
Great coffee spot with reasonable varied breakfast options, coffee, tea, espresso, fridge with juices, great fresh bagels, pastries, and really friendly bubbly staff! Great way to start the day:)
Great coffee and sandwiches, cool plaza/atmosphere and very nice staff
The chai oat latte here was so good! On the sweeter side, but after a long bike ride I could do with the extra sugar!

The works bagel was delicious. Coffee was great. But the lovely woman at the register was the star of the show bringing such a positive happy energy. Would definitely come back!
This is my favorite local coffee shop in Marin County. Always come here 2-3x a week. Everyone is friendly. They make delicious coffee with seasonal drinks. Really good pastries and bagels. Great atmosphere and people working here. When it’s a nice day, I enjoy sitting outside with my tuxedo latte. Lots of people sitting outside chatting or just enjoying their coffee and drinks. Great coffee shop.
Great place for morning coffee and a bite. So nice this morning with the indoor and outdoor seating. Morning bun, cinnamon twist and egg-drop. Yummy 😋
Love this spot and location. Great food selections and coffee. Big patio for outdoor seating.
I literally go there all of the time. One of my fave places to be and I bring my dogs (which I keep outside) and I LOVE THEIR COFFEE CAKESSSSS and I usually get a chai or a peach green tea lemonade
Was just stopping through town on a road trip and had incredible customer service here. Being from Seattle we ordered our drinks in a way they were not familiar with and the staff gave such attention to detail to make sure they got it perfect. The drinks and food were delicious, and the service was fast and friendly.
I visited the Ignacio location, where the owner, Tami, is cheerful, friendly, and actively involved in the community. Sarah, a team member, is exceptionally excellent. It’s incredible how much a personal touch can make a difference. Thank you, Tami, Sarah, and the entire team for all that you do! The staff as a whole is friendly, approachable, and knowledgeable about their products and offerings. The shopping center features handicapped access, and the cafe offers both indoor and outdoor seating options. They also provide Wi-Fi. The breakfast/brunch items are tasty. I especially appreciate the generous amount of cream cheese on their bagels. I prefer this local coffee shop over the major coffee chains due to its better service. I highly recommend it and visit regularly.
This is better than the Seattle place. Lots of room. Lots of breakfast choices and all fresh, not frozen. There was s mall issue with my order and they immediatley made it right and were amazingly nice. My matcha was great. Will come again.

Friendly service, nice selection; but beware of the breakfast burritos, which are consistently cool/lukewarm in the middle.
In between visits to Joseph's some repair and Nugget Market, we decided to sip a couple of cafe au laits on the comfortable well-spaced patio and split a piece of pumpkin bread from Marin Coffee Roasters. They have a good selection of cakes, pastries, croissants. I've been in friendlier places but overall enjoyed our visit; one particularly good feature is that MCR is situated at the deep end of mall parking which means that there is little traffic passing by.
A nice comfortable place. Limited inside seating, very nice outside seating. The brewed coffee could be better, but is quite drinkable. Other fare is fairly standard.
The coffee is delicious and they do their own roasting which is always a plus, they are generous with their shots just let them know how you like their coffee. Friendly and courteous baristas. Lots of pastries varieties they offer. Plus they got got sandwiches and quiche on the menu. I like supporting local business. Definitely recommended for an amazing cup of coffee if you are in the area.
I tried coffee here, the Iced White Chocolate Latte. Oh my! I can’t explain how perfectly amazing it was. I hadn’t had a satisfying cup of coffee in a while and this was just on point. I asked for it to be made light on ice and sweetness and they made it a 10/10. The service was great. The staff was super friendly and gave me suggestions. The only thing I was disappointed in was the breakfast burrito with chorizo. I think it was a frozen one just warmed up so it tasted weird and stale. Will definitely go back for the coffee.

I got a to go order of black tea, blueberry pomegranate smoothie, an apricot bar, blueberry coffee cake and a plain croissant. Everything was good except the croissant which was like a gas station croissant 😆 no hate though, I’ve ate lots of them lol I’m just curious of the choice, since all the other baked items were relatively good. Anyways, good price, great atmosphere, good drinks (the smoothie was really good)

Pleasant location. Friendly staff. Great ownership. Regular coffee is inconsistent and often bitter. Espresso drinks that I have sampled have been good.
The egg in my jalapeno begel reminds me of something you get at a free breakfast in a cheap hotel. The bacon tasted like sweat favoring without any of the nice meaty flavor. If you come here I wouldn't recommend getting the food. The latte and cappuccino, on the other hand, was very good. They managed to make a oat milk capachino very foamy how I asked.
Great service and selection of coffee, teas, and snacks. My macchiato was served with EXTRA milk and EXTRA foam though 😕. It was huge!

While I enjoyed the atmosphere and attitude of the shop, and my pastry was delicious, I was not impressed with the barista station. I've worked as a barista for several years, and there are basic hygeine practices one must follow to avoid cross-contamination of milks and maintain the sanitation of the espresso machine. The wand was encrusted with old milk, as well as the receptacle. All it takes is a swipe with a wet rag and a clearing of the wand to clean it and avoid contaminating people's drinks. As for the receptacle, it needs to be washed with water between every drink made. It really grossed me out that these basics were not done, and I had a hard time enjoying my drink as a result.
Small coffee shop with pastries including gluten free options but the drip coffee was terrible. I usually take it black but even two Stevia couldn’t save it. Extremely bitter flavor. Staff didn’t even ask if I wanted dark or medium roast. Have a feeling she gave me dark. Maybe their beans are good if one takes them home and grinds them but their available coffee to drink was terrible. Only good thing was the price. Not bad for the size.

Ordered Cappuccinos and when the barista handed over the drinks, she called them Cappuccinos but filled with milk and at best would be a bland Latte.
THIS COFFEE SHOP SERVED ME A LATTE SO DANGEROUSLY HOT IT MELTED THE LID. I’ve been coming to this coffee shop almost everyday when discovering it a month ago while caring for my sick grandmother in the area. I’ve never had an issue - until now, and what unfolded has been not only frustrating but deeply upsetting. On my recent visit, I was served a latte that was scalding to the point of being dangerous. The coffee was so boiling hot that I couldn’t drink it but the little bit I did try burned my tongue severely. By the time it cooled enough to try, the plastic lid had melted due to the heat, spilling hot coffee which didn’t even taste like coffee all over my car. I suffered a severe burn to my tongue and was left with a mess I had to throw out entirely. This was beyond unacceptable. The cup was made of paper, not equipped to handle such extreme temperatures, which raises serious questions about the safety standards of this establishment. I reported the incident to an employee, who apologized and promised me a refund. I appreciated their initial response, but after a week of waiting, no refund was issued. When I called to follow up today, I was met with shockingly unprofessional behavior. The employee I spoke with didn’t know what I was referring to, so she asked a coworker for assistance. To my disbelief, I overheard the coworker telling her to “just hang up on her.” Yes, you read that correctly. Instead of resolving a legitimate customer concern, the staff thought it was acceptable to mock me and ignore my issue entirely. I was polite throughout this process and simply wanted the refund I was promised. Not only was the refund still not issued, but I was treated with utter disrespect. When I called back to escalate the issue, I was again met with a dismissive attitude and empty promises of a callback—which, of course, never happened. This lack of accountability and blatant disregard for customer safety and satisfaction is astounding. For reference, there are laws in place that regulate the serving temperature of hot beverages to prevent injuries. The fact that this business disregarded those safety standards, resulting in severe burns to my tongue and property damage to my vehicle, is not just negligent—it’s potentially illegal. This is no longer about the refund. It’s about the unacceptable way this business treats its customers and their complete failure to adhere to basic safety and service standards. If I do not hear back by tomorrow, I will be filing a formal complaint and reporting this as fraud. I no longer feel comfortable supporting a business that disrespects its customers, ignores legitimate safety concerns, and allows its staff to engage in unprofessional and abusive behavior. If you value your safety and your dignity, I urge you to avoid Marin Coffee Roasters entirely. You deserve better coffee and better treatment. This place is not worth the risk.below I have included picture of the aftermath of my burned tongue below. My apologies if the image below is disturbing.
