What a wonderful dinner we had last night! (Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures.) The restaurant is small, but we arrived around 5:30pm on a Sunday and we were the only people in the dining room area. I recommend calling ahead, which we will do in the future. We were a party of six. Our server was a delightful, knowledgeable gentleman who saw to all our needs. I requested a mocktail of any kind, and the bartender made me something delicious and tangy although they do not have cocktails on the menu. We had the fried calamari appetizer - I can't deal with tentacles, but there were plenty of rings so I got to partake. They were perfectly, lightly battered and fried. The dishes we had were: Baked Ziti (I think), Fettuccine Alfredo, Lasagna, Pumpkin Ravioli, and I had the Clams in White Sauce. Everyone said their meals were delicious, and my clams and fettuccine was delicious! The clams were still in the shell, and were huge and tender. The pasta and sauce was perfect. David said the pumpkin ravioli was amazing, but I did give him some of my fettuccine because he is a big eater and he didn't have quite enough. Mine was way too much so it was perfect. For dessert we had 2 cannolli (BEST we have ever had), some kind of ice cream inside a chocolate shell, tiramisu, and a chocolate mousse cake. All were really, really good. We will definitely be eating there again when we visit our family in Springs. The service, the amazing food, the chef coming out to visit with us - all made this a great experience!
This charming roadside take out and restaurant goes way beyond expectations. The dining rooms are proper and attractive. The atmosphere is more European bistro/cafe/trattoria than NY Deli. The service is very good. The Italian/American menu is extensive. And the food is outstanding and a great value. Highly Recommended.
I can not say enough amazing things about Cappelletti. The food was absolutely outstanding, the service was amazing and the people who run it are the best. My husband and I are year round residents of Sag Harbor and just had our fist meal here. It blew every other place out of the water. Between the portion size and the quality of the meal, you truly can not go wrong. You will not be disappointed!!!
This place is a 10/10. My wife and I had the focaccia sandwiches. You can make your own and we asked for chicken cutlet, fresh mozzarella, tomato and pesto on focaccia and it was out of this world good. The focaccia is fresh and incredible. I have no photos for this review because I inhaled the sandwich in seconds but take my word for it.
EXCELLENT!!! I was impressed. This is the nicest pizza joint I have ever been too and I’m going to go again. It was so good that I think if they mess up next time I will give them a pass! 🤣 I went late afternoon and was their only dine in customer for about 20 min so the service was superb, most people were doing pick ups - they had a really busy pickup counter. I got the mushroom, onion and potato soup - tasted the potato skins too, I loved that part. Rosemary flatbread came with it, it’s made in house, all the bread is except their sub/hoagie sandwich bread. All soups do have chicken stock.. even though I wish that wasn’t the case…but very considerate to inform me. Owners kid is vegan so they have dairy free options. They have hepa filters, for some reason they told me that lol 😆 Great owner has a very charming nature about him Women chefs The place is freaking awesome, I had such a good experience - I nearly went back for dinner. Lots of people ordered the pizza to go. So I would suggest pizza and soup. Good music too!! And they know their customers, lady working the register is on it, getting the orders out while the owner smoozes the customers. I was by myself so I got to see everything. They have a back room too that would be nice for a party of maybe 20 people. However, I would be very wary about parking in the front, people go too fast around the bend and it makes it hard to back out, next time I will park in the back or try back in.
Our server Carla was AWESOME from beginning to end.. We arrived around 2:30pm on Sunday, 11/04/23 & we weren't sure if we were going to stay since we were the only customers.. But Carla & the sincere smiles on everyone's face helped with our decision to stay.. My wife & I both believe that food touched with love makes your Heart want more even when the belly is full.. Each morsel was Delightful.. We will be back..
Great italian restaurant in Sag Harbor. We had a take out on the weekend - the place was busy with a well stocked bar. The staff/manager was extremely friendly and chatty, making the interaction and the food pickup a bit more enjoyable - picking lots of foods for a party of 15. The food was delicious and everyone enjoyed (the quantity was more than substantial leaving some leftovers for the next day lunch. Would love to visit and dine in next time.
This is the second time that I’ve gone here .. they did not disappoint! I had a specially made sandwich of grilled chicken, fresh mozzarella, pesto in a fresh focaccia bread. The sandwich was also frilled, served with a special sauce to dip it. Wow! It was delish! We got the sandwich to go, and it was huge! We shared one. This place is one of my bf’s favorite places. We also got a Cannoli that was creamy and over-stuffed. My bf never had one before… now says he’s addicted! Lol
Been here twice. Once to dine in and once for take out. Service is excellent and great little spot with good food. 💝 The manager/server/owner. .not sure his exact position is amazing! I think his name is Luigi. Always kind and prompt with greetings & service. Always a pleasure to stop by and satisfied w every visit so far! The space is not too large so if you have a bigger party, best to make reservations!
It's a mix of a place, with a bright fluorescent lit front for takeout and a nice setting by the bar. If the front was made less "pizza pickup" the overall vibe would be much better. The food is good and generous and the service willing and caring. The one item that is a turnoff is the 4% surcharge for credit card use and the comment on the menu that prices change without notice and one should ask a price before ordering. Really? Prices fluctuate so much that the restaurant can't reprint the menu? And about the menu...the font is so small, on a dark background, that it's really hard to read. Consider using the back of the paper so you have more space and can make it easier to read for guests.
Surprisingly poor service and 2 out of 3 dinners were not good, but my husband loved his chicken parm ( by which he rates all Italian restaurants ) and loved the sauce. I think they were understaffed and hostess was so busy packing and ringing up orders that she couldn’t oversee the front of the house. We were seated at 7:30. The couple that was seated after us, had a different server and was served their wine, garlic rolls and appetizer before us. After 30 minutes I had to ask for garlic rolls, which was chopped raw garlic in oil on bottom of basket with rolls on top - awful - but we ate the rolls because dinner didn’t arrive until 8:40 and then only 2 dinners arrived. Waiter looked surprised, checked his computer and ran into kitchen. Ten minutes later, the Sea Bass special served on risotto with vegetables finally arrived for our dinner guest. The risotto should have been creamy and flavorful, but it was undercooked and tasteless with very few vegetable pieces thrown on top. Our guest said the sea bass was good. My shrimp, clams & mussels over linguini was absolutely tasteless. The seafood was cooked perfectly but it was sitting in mostly cooking water. The linguini was dripping water when it should have been coated in sauce. Cooking broth, some herbs & white wine stirred into a roux would have created a sauce for the pasta. I would normally stop to discuss all this after our meal, but we didn’t want to delay our guest any longer as it was now 9:40 and we were the last diners in the front room of the restaurant. Also, the server should have asked if we’d have liked to order coffee or dessert. Yes, we still tipped 20% because I was a waitress and my husband a bar tender during our college years.
Not that impressed honestly. The paninis were rubber like and the chicken was thin and almost burned. Pesto was good but hardly no mozzarella at all. Nice waitress and a good location across the marina. I hear the pizzas are nice.
After having a Sausage pizza where the sausage tasted like it had gone bad and the salmon was inedible (March of 2024) I decided to give it a second try. As a kid I ate at Espresso and the food was always great. So I figured this was a fluke. I was once again highly disappointed. The girl that answered the phone (August 14, 2024) was extremely hard to understand. I asked for a Veal park and she said you want eggplant. I had to tell her 5 times I wanted veal. Then I also asked for a second hero of meatball. She said okay you want veal and chicken on one hero. I had to tell her NO!! Two separate hero’s. One veal and one meatball. Took about 5 minutes for her to get it right. I picked up the food as when I got home lo and behold it was chicken nor meatball. 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️. The chicken and veal were so dry and once again inedible food. I’ve spoken to several residents who have also stated they have had similar issues and the food had clearly gone downhill.
Had a drink here with my mother, we each had a vodka cran and the total was 40$! 20$ each drink!!! Absolutely insane! I do not recommend drinking here. Pizza is really good tho 100% recommend that.
