Give this place a chance and leave a good review. Some very old reviews said the service was slow but I found it was very fast! The chicken quesadilla was fresh and good with a little salt and salsas. The mango licuado was huge and super yummy! Super reasonable prices. Gracias a Ricos Tacos 🙏
This is our second time visiting Ricos Tacos. The food has outstanding flavor and the portions are generous. The service was great as well. The atmosphere outside is something the restaurant can't control but inside was clean and food was served quickly and hot!!!
I have been coming to this place since I was 10 years old with my family the food here is amazing even tho there is a waiting time for the food to be served to the table but best believe it’s done fresh and super hot ! The waitress are good at their job they might not know so much English but kindly use a translation app on you’re device if you do not know how to speak Spanish to make it easy for the both you and the waitress during the vist . Regarding the comments on here about “ bad service “ ETC.. I will always be a loyal customer I can say this place is where I have so many childhood memories that can’t be erased 🩵 so if you are ever around the neighborhood don’t hesitate walk right in to the best taco spot in Brooklyn

Back for more delicious food today. I tried the Cemita de Pollo - excellent, but I prefer the torta. Taco de camarones - sooo good! Where can you eat that much + drink for $18? Best tortas in the neighborhood! I sometimes have the quesadillas too . Basically never disappointed. Everyone I take there is amazed by the food and prices. Extremely fresh and delicious, and so inexpensive for the quality and quantity. I like the no-frills atmosphere of the place, simple and friendly folks. Colorful interior. I like the outdoor dining in the summer. Cash only. Expect to wait a while because everything is made fresh to order, and they have to prepare deliveries as well.
Wow! I followed the Taco sign on 51st and 5th Ave and was not disappointed. I am really impressed by this place, such a helpful and kind waitress greeted me when I arrived and gave me her recs when I asked. I got the fried chicken torta YUM, the meat was delicious and fried to perfection and amount and quality of cheese, beans, avocado and other toppings were perfect! It’s cute inside, the aesthetic reminds me a lot of some of the food spots I visited in Mexico, with a Brooklyn twist- there is also a good amount of seating. Can’t wait to go back and try their other dishes! So glad I gave this place a chance, I can see it quickly becoming a neighborhood favorite for me and my family!
QUE RICO!! Food is always FRESH and made with love, Love this place!! I have been coming here since I was a little girl, My mother introduced me and after that I was addicted. My hubby and kids love it. Being a pescatarian now they have the options of shrimp Tostadas & tacos, as well as vegetarian. The salsa verde & Roja are made fresh daily also the pico de gallo ! I don't write reviews for Mexican food in NYC. Frankly, nothing comes close to Rico's. Best tacos and quesadillas I've had in NYC. I really recommend it. The staff are super friendly too. Some days they're a little short staffed but it's always worth the wait. I will be coming back over and over again.
What a great hole in the wall! The interior is definitely mom and pop store and a little sketchy, but the food is amazing! It's delicious and cheap. I find it hard to find any other restaurant that can rival Rico's tacos. Service is a little slow but they are very nice. There's is always people coming in and out of the store, but there are usually seats. The burritos are huge and can be eaten for two meals! Keep in mind that when you order takeout for soft tacos, you have to order two of one item because they do not want to waste a tray with only one soft taco.
I love the way team decorated restaurant, it feels like home. :-) Music, beautiful waitress , tacos with Tekate flavored with freshly squeezed lime juice and Tabasco sauce. It really feels like I have escaped NY and for slight moment appeared in small Mexican Town. Thank You. It would make it even more authentic if they hot chicken tamales to menu. 🙂
The food was really good. Everything came out hot and crispy. Don’t believe me? check the pics. couldn’t wait to go to work on the food. The place was small and hot. Other then that food and service 5 stars
The place was quite spacious, with a lot of seating. The food arrived promptly, and the ordering process was straightforward.
The food is fine, but there’s a serious issue for customers who don’t speak Spanish. Some of the staff don’t speak English well, which makes it difficult to communicate your order — even when you point to items on the menu. They also don’t double-check the order after you tell them, which has led to mistakes. I’ve had the wrong items brought to me on two separate visits. It’s frustrating and disappointing. So make sure to use a translating tool when u order food here if u don’t speak Spanish and let them confirm with you.
Update 4: ok, so I've been eating here for many years now, and I've only been dining in, but recently I started taking to go, and got a bad experience.. I ordered Cemita with Buche a few times and got something completely else.. seemed like cecina or some dry meat mixed eith small pieces of buche or pork intestines, definitely NOT the buche I've been eating dozens of times.. I understand one time, but not happening many times.. I don't know if it's on purpose because when you get home you won't go back to complain, but something is definitely fishy.. Superb authentic mexican food for really affordable prices.. I truly recommend the tortas.. Update: after eating here for almost a year regularly, I can firmly say that this is still one of the best mexican restaurants to eat at, in Brooklyn.. Update 2: at this point there's not much left to say.. it's been a long time, and the quality and flavor was consistent for years.. still one of the best Update 3: yup.. still amazing..
Been Waiting for an hour + just to get my food. Let's not forget that the waitress leave you alone for like 30 minutes just to order. Get better with your services. This place has been around for a while, get more staffs. Get better.
DON'T GO HERE! SAVE YOUR MONEY! The food was horrible, no seasoning on the chicken or any meat! Sause too watery! Table sticky even if you tell them to clean it, it will continue to be sticky! Wait time is horrible, had to wait 35 mintues! When you ask for a drink, they will forget sometimes! 70$ wasted for the worst food i had ever tasted! DON'T RECOMMEND HERE!
Your better off buying nachos from a food truck for the same price they Gave 2 tortillas worth of nacho chips ingredients are fresh which I could deem a + but with how little nachos they had it was laughable as well as soggy se pasan de berga con los nachos $11 un troca me dio mas
The food was terrible, A complete disappointment waited for about 40 min for my food to arrive, the tacos 🌮 were very bland lack in quality and taste, I also had a torta where the chicken was very dry and very tough , a staple to my childhood but unfortunately did not reach the standard, don’t bother coming here I recommend much better places !
Bruh, never again. $24 bucks for 4 of the most mid dry azz shrimp tacos I ever had. WITH SHELLS IN ugh. Had to throw out away. Been here 4 years a block away. It's fine so far down hill. They ain't the spot. Keep it pushing.
Ordering on the phone was easy. Delivery was prompt. They take cash for delivery but no credit card over the phone. Food was not hot (temperature wise), and there was not much flavor. The flavor we did have was from the sauces provided, but the food itself had none whatsoever. Like, how is that possible? Unfortunately I did find a hair in my taco. Presentation was good and everything was fresh so that's a major positive but I will most likely not order from them again.
Terrible service, I ordered a few tacos and I am still waiting for them 15 minutes later. HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO MAKE TACOS. DO NOT COME HERE. There are better places to eat in sunset. You can probably walk 3 min to another place.
