You know this place is consistent. Whether you’re coming for the namesake dessert (yes, that whiskey cake) or the food, you better not leave without giving the whiskey cake a proper nod on your way out. It had been a while since my last visit, probably around the time the Woodlands location opened, but it’s just as good as I remember. This spot is great for a meeting, a Sunday dinner, or any time you want fresh, thoughtful food. Many of the ingredients are grown right on the lot, and you can truly taste the difference. I had the Rotisserie Farm Bird, and it's rare to find a meal that’s both comforting and energizing. Every bite felt like it was hand-delivered by a chef who genuinely cares about what they do. The chicken? I’m convinced it was raised in a God-fearing home, nestled somewhere out in the countryside, raised by two well-educated parents who instilled in it discipline, purpose, and a love for clean living. It drank spring water and went to bed early to be its best self, and that showed up on my plate. The whole experience, from the food to the staff, feels like it was made with intention. And the pricing? Honestly, it feels like a steal for the quality you're getting. A solid 6/5.
Our first visit to Whiskey Cake Kitchen & Bar was like stepping into a home designed with care—every corner warm, every detail thoughtful, and every feature worth showing off. The chicken and waffles felt like the foundation of comfort, sturdy and familiar yet refined. The pork chop was a beautifully constructed mainstay, juicy and layered with flavor. The Smoked Old Fashioned was presented like a signature fireplace, smoked tableside with dramatic flair, and the Whiskey Cake itself was the finishing detail—the crown molding that sealed the entire experience in perfection. But what truly made the evening stand tall was our server, Faith. She wasn’t just delivering food—she was building the entire experience, brick by brick. Her attentiveness was the strong framework that held everything together. Like a realtor who knows a property inside and out, she highlighted the best “features” of the menu, explained them with ease, and anticipated our needs before we even realized them. She had the polish of a well-finished home and the warmth of a lived-in space, striking that rare balance of professional and personal. Every interaction was thoughtful, and every detail she touched turned good service into extraordinary hospitality. Faith didn’t just serve us dinner—she guided us through an experience that felt welcoming, seamless, and memorable, leaving us without a single want. She made us feel not just like guests, but like valued residents in the space she was showcasing. Whiskey Cake Kitchen & Bar isn’t just a restaurant; it’s an experience built to last. And with Faith leading the way, it felt less like dining out and more like discovering the place you’ll want to come home to again and again.
The drinks and food were great. Our server was really attentive and friendly. I wish we would’ve got a picture of the dessert but we couldn’t leave without trying the whiskey cake itself and it was amazing. We came in a little after 11am which was when they opened and there was no wait time but it did seem to pick up pretty fast. Would definitely come again.
We usually go to the San Antonio Whiskey Cake but tried the Woodlands location and it’s quickly become a favorite! The food, atmosphere, and staff are outstanding. Justin is the best!! He makes every visit feel like catching up with an old friend. Must-try dishes: Ribeye for Two, Steak Frites, Pork Chop, Fish & Chips, and the Goat Cheese appetizer. Drink picks: Guava Gimlet, Margarita, Sangria, and the Espresso Martini. And of course… don’t skip the Whiskey Cake!
We had a great experience at Whiskey Cake! We tried the goat cheese fondue to start, and it was amazing—super creamy and full of flavor. For mains, we got the pork chop and steak frites, and both were cooked perfectly. I’m not generally a fan of Bourbon, but I tried the Bohemian Rhapsody and it was really refreshing and well-balanced. Everything we ordered was delicious, and the atmosphere was great too. I’ll definitely be back!
The food was absolutely wonderful. The wife and I both got New York Strips, and both were cooked perfectly medium rare. We had the potatoes and Mac and cheese, and both were great (especially the Mac and cheese!). Our server Mason did a great job throughout the evening and was attentive and quick. Will definitely be coming back for a nice date night. The food was absolutely wonderful. The wife and I both got New York Strips, and both were cooked perfectly medium rare. Their food is a little on the "different" side which is honestly refreshing sometimes. I always enjoy my food and drinks when visiting. They have one of the best Spinach and Artichoke Dips I've ever had, though the crackers that come with it almost taste stale, but I think it's the way they're made. I've tried the tator tots, chicken melt, Steak Frites, and their version of a Philly Cheesesteak. All have been great! Our bartender, Megan, was extremely knowledgeable on bourbon the last time I visited and the experience was thoroughly enjoyable!
Nothing but great things to say about this place! We were headed out of town and stopped by Whiskey & Cake for brunch, and I’m so glad we did. From start to finish, the experience was excellent. Zara greeted us warmly at the door and promptly took our order. She was very kind and made us feel welcome right away. When we sat at the bar, Todd took a moment to chat with us about the drink selection, and not long after, Bralen came by with such genuine warmth. He offered even more options and suggested a fun little menu scavenger hunt that added to the vibe. Savannah brought out our to-go bag with a smile…just another example of the great service here. I’ve included a few photos of the Peach Cobbler French Toast and the signature Whiskey Cake, but the Farmer’s Breakfast was so good, I forgot to take a picture. (That’s saying something!) Honestly, I could turn this into a full article if I started describing the food in detail. It’s rare to find a place where the food is as excellent as the service, but this is one of them. You can tell the team here truly cares, and it shows. Clean, professional, and clearly well-run. We’re already looking forward to coming back.
We had a rather large party of 18+ and only gave them a 1 day notice and Issac Lambert, the GM made our night memorable! He was so accommodating and really went over the top to make sure we were comfortable. I was very impressed with how they handled a bigger party. Preston our server was awesome, she made sure we all had what we needed and allocated the proper help when we were all needing things at the same time. She served us in a very timely manner. Thank you for such a great night! We will be back because of you 2!
Went for brunch, very relaxing atmosphere, the lighting and decor were very contemporary. The food was delicious and the presentation was great. The jalapeño biscuits with gravy were fire! Their "ketchup" was put of this world! The crab Benedict was so delectable! Whiskey cake always a winner, and the chicken melt on sourdough was the bomb! Since its a scratch kitchen, no issues with bloating or having that over full feeling. Definitely coming back!
Nice place and atmosphere! Had the chicken melt pictured here with crushed avocado, peppered bacon and side of salad. Service was friendly and quick even on a Friday night. Loved the candlelight vibe so much we even purchased one of the scented candles to take home. Enjoyed viewing the library style liquor display with sliding ladder behind the bar.
Some of the best steak, definitely one or if not the best salad ive had 10/10 recommend. You will find easy parking, Friendly & attentive staff. Healthy options. The whiskey cake is a MUST very rich & delicious: they make their whipping cream fresh in house pair it with their French Press coffee. They also have a very nice bar area with a unique setting as there is a latter for the bar-tender to climb and grab a variety of wines and spirits whichever you choose. We will be coming back ☺️.
The food, drinks, and overall atmosphere were excellent. The dining room was beautiful, the bar was stunning, and the restaurant had a pleasant, inviting scent. The host and servers were friendly and welcoming. While service was a bit slow with check-ins and the food took some time to arrive despite the restaurant not being busy, it was well worth the wait as everything was delicious. The menu is relatively small, which initially gave me pause, but I ended up appreciating how well-curated it was. Overall, a great dining experience and a place I would happily return to. Very HIGHLY recommend this place
Always fresh and delicious food! We had lunch after attending the Jr Holiday Market, on a Friday. Service on this occasion was a bit behind but I understand as our waitress was the only one in our busy area.,❤️We started with 2 appetizers on this visit, artichoke dip which we all agreed that the crackers were too salty( go back to chips pls) and the hummus with veggies and pita (that is always the Best!) I opted for the soup( sweet potato with a small spice kick) and chicken crisp salad that was Amazing! Of course we had to share the Famous Whiskey cake! 🍰Sorry for the missing pics!
Very good! We forgot to get the pretty picks, but worth it. We had the spinach artichoke dip, then both got The Switchup. My husband got the half Ruben half sweet potato soup, and I got the half chicken melt and half sweet potato soup. Good drinks, good food, and love the way it’s decorated! We spent $20-30 per person with appetizers+ but the meal was $10-20 per person!
My husband and I absolutely love this place!! We’ve been here a couple of times now, and it’s always incredible. The service is top notch and the food is absolutely delicious!! The whiskey cake is probably my favorite dessert I’ve ever had (and they do an excellent job for celebrations 🥹). We even had two managers come by and greet us. Great experience, delicious food, and amazing drinks!! Can’t wait to come back soon!
Whiskey Cake Kitchen & Bar provided a seamless dining experience where nothing was out of place. The menu offers a unique, farm-to-table approach that is both delicious and deeply representative of the local region. Every dish was plated with stunning attention to detail. Most notably, our server (who assisted us on Sunday around 5–6 p.m. in the front-left section) exemplified the highest standards of service and hospitality. Her professionalism was so exceptional that it warranted a 35% tip. A premier destination for those who value discipline and quality in the kitchen.
What a wonderfully unique place to encounter. Brandon brought us to our seats and was so kind. He was helping out the hosts. It's always nice to see a hands-on manager that isn't afraid to help their staff. At the table it was so nice, dining in candlelight with a nice meal and a great bar menu. The meals were so simple, yet full of flavor. My husband got 'that face' you know, that disapproving face someone makes when you say something they don't agree with when I ordered the brussel sprouts for an appetizer. He was pleasantly surprised at how fantastic they were. He said they were the best brussles he's ever had in his life and honestly, I agree with him. For our mains we had the rotisserie farm bird and the chicken and cheese melt (on gluten free bread) Their gf bread truly tasted like real bread! Raven was our server and took great care of us! We ended the night with The Whiskey Cakes signature dessert.... the Whiskey Cake. Beyond exceptional! The only con was the parking. It's sort of a nightmare on the weekends!
I’ll admit, I visited Whiskey Cake about three years ago and was NOT impressed. I was reluctant to go back but my bestie insisted and I’m glad she did. They have changed so much since my first and only visit. The food options have evolved and everything was cooked to perfection and freshly made once ordered. Service was great for a busy weeknight. Will definitely keep Whiskey Cake in my restaurant rotation wheel. :)
Took my wife out for dinner and this place was amazing. Like most places now, they have a text message option for waiting for a table. The atmosphere was great and the whiskey selection is awesome. The food was amazing as well. Our server checked on us constantly and his food recommendations were on point.
A must visit restaurant if you’re in Houston - around the Springs/Woodlands area. 🍽️It’s a farm-to-fork and garden-to-glass restaurant🍽️. Which means 90% of their ingredients are locally sourced and all their juices, simple syrup etc. for drinks are freshly made!! The food was high quality, portions were normal, not ‘Texas size’! Our table ordered deviled eggs, the charcuterie board, chicken and waffles, shrimp and grits. And their famous whiskey cake. Plus lots of drinks! Everyone was happy. The ambience is very warm. The decor seemed to be modern farmhouse! Overall a great dining experience. Great if you are celebrating a special occasion.
The food was wonderful. Our server was very knowledgeable of the entire menu and helped me get a meal that agreed with my eating habits. My wife enjoyed her blackberry cider and we finished the night with their famous whiskey cake. When getting appetizers, don't forget to leave room for your meal. With options to eat outside and a comfortable ambiance were you could relax in with a glass of wine.
OK ladies and gentlemen, this place is delicious! They have a tremendous amount of different Whiskeys!!! To me, it's kind of like Whiskey Heaven. I love my whiskey so this is my new place. They have whiskey flights in case you were wondering!!! The food is delicious and has very unique ingredient combinations. The Apps average $13/e and meals around $22/e. Bring a date or bring the family. This place has great vibes. Outdoor seating all year long and a wonderful staff. And yes!!!, DOG FRIENDLY!!! I have had the Deviled Eggs, Chicken Meatballs, and brussel sprouts. Just absolutely mouth watering Apps. I've also tried the Farmers Market Soup. That was very unique, and like it says, UNEXPECTED. I don't usually do mussels but these sounded quite interesting and I ate 5 of them! That tells you, if you want to step out of your comfort zone......TRY THEM!!!! Just want to give a shout out to Justin for always keeping me company as I typically dine alone. Travis is a bar tender as well and is friendly but quiet. I soon hope you break him of this...lol, jk. So I had to add to my experience. They update the menu and I had the Mushroom Campanelle. OMG, Vegetarian mouth explosion!!!! So tasty! It's a must have.
Superb food. Great flavors. Fresh ingredients. Well prepared and presented with flair. Drinks are awesome, but a bit pricey. The bar is an experience! The ambience is excellent. The wait staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Overall, a great dining experience that we will repeat!
Service was top notch, atmosphere was amazing and the food was great. Personally I am not a huge fan of goat cheese, however that fondue was the bomb! The pulled pork in the sliders was really tender and flavorful as well. The waffle in my chicken and waffles was perfectly fluffy and sweet. The chicken was fried perfect and my sunny side up eggs were exactly how you’d hope they would be. We also tried the Whiskey cake (not pictured) which was amazing! Super sweet toffee flavor and fluffy. If you are 21+ I highly suggest grabbing some drinks here because the cocktails were superb! Overall really great place, slightly on the pricer side especially for portion size, but given all the other great things I will be returning!
Came here today for a friends birthday lunch. let’s just say, this place was amazing. the service the food and the management. had a misshapen with some food manager came out immediately apologized then came back once again! just coming back out again even if the server said we were okay was awesome. I will be returning to this place! the market place soup is to die for and I’m not a huge fan of sweet potato’s my son also had kid Mac and cheese and he’s super picky and he loved it! food 10/10 Service 10/10 Management 10/10
We have been to whiskey cake several times over the years. We have celebrated many special events here, including our wedding rehearsal dinner. We like to bring friends and family when they come to visit from out of state. We have never once had a mad meal or service here. It's one of our top favorite places to go. Very kid friendly too which is a plus since our family has grown since we got married in 2022. We love that the patio is dog friendly and they menu gets fun additions all the time. The goat cheese foundue is my favorite thing on the menu. Love that the stuff is sorced locally if possible. I also appreciate the fun non alcoholic creations they offer. One thing I'll say, my husband still talks about the garlic ribeye they had several years ago that is no longer on the menu and he wishes it would make a come back.
I visited here on Friday night with some friends on the patio. Our server was Savanna (?) This was mine and my boyfriend’s first time here, although our friends come here often. We had the goat cheese, crab fritters and they were so good! Over all I think we spent 200 dollars with 4 people. Everything was amazing! Savanna was extremely attentive and even joked around with us when my boyfriend was being goofy. (He accidentally dropped honey mustard on the ground everywhere, sorry about that.) Despite his shenanigans, she made us feel at home and we had a lot of fun. We loved the food but we’ll be coming back because of the service! 100% recommend coming here!
This place was great! As someone who has recently gotten into different bourbons, I found the selection and prices fair. They had some bourbons I hadn’t tried before, and I appreciated not having to pay over $100 on the secondary market for a bottle I might not enjoy. My bartender was also fantastic and recommended a bourbon flight that was reasonably priced. I got to try Weller 12, barrel-select Eagle Rare, Stagg, and others. The food was also delicious—the pork chop was spot on! I’ll definitely be back.
Great food. Even better whiskey offerings. Not much of a whiskey guy, but loved sipping some Codigo Anejo. Brussels sprouts awesome. Pork bellies awesome. All meals awesome.
Booked a table on a Sunday night through open table, showed up a little early and they were ready to seat us within minutes. Had a server who has been our server a couple times. Easy going, great suggestions. Fast service and communicated effectively. He let us know status of our apps when we ordered three. The food came out hot and by runners which is great for speed and for hungry customers. Fried tomatoes were delicious. Hot crispy, great dressing on top. We always love trying the deviled eggs as they change every once in awhile, and the goat cheese with sourdough was amazing and piping hot. We got two dinner salads with a lovely vinaigrette on top. Fresh greens as well, and we split the pasta dish, and overall it was all delicious. No complaints at all. Along with clean bathrooms and a relaxed yet social atmosphere. Great place for date night. They also have great drinks, good beers on tap and local selections as well. Highly recommend coming. We prefer the booth seating for date night, but high tops are great for larger groups. Thanks whiskey cake! We love going for happy hour and do a little tapas action, however I still think prices are great regardless of when you arrive. Probably not a very kid friendly atmosphere, in my opinion. They also play great music. Lots of alternative rock from my high school days.
Absolutely amazing service from our waitress!!! She was an absolute treat- we were celebrating a birthday dinner & had a party of 5 on a Sunday evening. The restaurant wasn’t too busy, but we had a reservation which they were able to seat us early for. All of our drinks were amazing, and they even did the mimosa flights even though it was normally a brunch deal. All of our food was delicious and plenty of gluten free items marked on the menu! Will definitely have to come back to try more items on the menu!!!
Whiskey Cake has been our go-to place for taking clients out for great food and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. The menu is consistently solid, the dishes are well prepared, and the overall experience makes it easy to have good conversations over a great meal. It’s a dependable choice when you want quality food without it feeling forced or formal. We keep coming back, and our clients always enjoy it.
After shopping at this plaza we looked over and noticed this restaurant. We didn’t know we would be delighted with such great food and service. The aesthetic is very open and inviting, along with the service. Our server and manager were all so warm and friendly. Now the freshness and taste of the food definitely put the icing on the cake!
I’ve gone to the location in the Dallas area plus this one and both are good! The staff is great and I really enjoyed my impossible burger and fries. I did go around my birthday and was able to try the whiskey cake which is surprisingly pretty good. I did go during the week around lunch time and had no problem getting seated immediately. Whiskey cake is one of my new go to favorites!
Definitely a must try! I had a lunch date with the hubs and we are definitely coming back. The service was a little slow, but the food and drinks were amazing. Love the fact that they use local farmers for their ingredients. 11/05/22 Update: birthday dinner party of 11: still fabulous! Our waiter Thomas was amazing. He knew the menu very well, and was able to make recommendations. He provided great customer service. The new whiskey braised beef was delicious, and of course I had to have a smoked old fashion.
Upon walk in the atmosphere is stunning, very aesthetically pleasing. Braelyn was honestly the reason we enjoyed our time here tonight. From the moment my Best friend Aseel & I sat down, to the moment we left, she was exquisite. She had an authentic personality & AMAZING customer service, that let alone will bring us back. Great recommendations, as well as guiding us through the menu, as we were first timers. The Ruby Red Slipper paired great with my Tavern Burger (fancy sauce is too good) food was yummy divine, loved being told everything is locally sourced & the bar does syrups/garnishes etc made in house!! We were celebrating my birthday, and she surprised us with Whiskey Cake! Your kindness and beautiful energy radiates, keep being you. Thank you again, for the welcoming hospitality. Ask for Braelyn if you want the full Whiskey cake experience.
We come here pretty frequently, like once a quarter normally. We've tried a lot of their seasonal items and normal menu items from tri trip dip, chicken cob salad, sliders, the kid's burger, candied bacon, steak frites and so on. Today we went for brunch, I got the short rib hash, my partner got the farmer's breakfast, and we split the fried green tomatoes. The short rib hash is great, very flavorful but kind of a hearty meal. The fried green tomatoes were great too, kind of a refreshing fried snack -- like fried pickles but with a crisp tomato. Unfortunately the Farmer's Breakfast was a let down, honestly the first let down for us coming here so often. Bacon and potatoes were good, scrambled eggs were kind of just wet and the biscuits were mid. So not something we'd get again, We left with a whiskey cake to go, because we were too full but it's always a sweet treat for later.
I’ve really enjoyed my dinning experiences everytime I’ve come to Whiskey Cake in The Woodlands. The whiskey selection is incredible! So many great barrel picks from the staff also. I’ve had great service from Zach, Mike, and Abby. The food is really good I’ve enjoyed the deviled eggs, smoked tri dip (which was really great) and the whiskey cake which was to die for! The service is what really stood out to me as well as the ambiance of the restaurant. Great service and the severs have great knowledge on the food items and bourbon. I’ve enjoyed the weller full proof and sagamore rye barrel picks. I was lucky enough to get the last oz of the foresters birthday bourbon as well! I’ve always left feeling happier than when I came in. They provide extraordinary food and service. I highly recommend if you’re a bourbon enthusiast who loves a wide selection and enjoys good quality food. I look forward to returning for some more! Thank you Whiskey Cake team!
We came here for the first time for brunch for my birthday and we absolutely loved everything about this place. The atmosphere when you walk in is very open and welcoming, our server was AMAZING and very knowledgeable of the menu and the food was great. The only issue was my Salmon was over seasoned which was a let down because that is one of my favorite dishes (told the server but I don't think he cared much due to him being a little busy). I was a little upset that they didn't try to rectify it but the whiskey dessert cake was really delicious.
We ordered a Thanksgiving dinner and picked it up on the 26th. We had lunch while waiting for our pick up appointment. The Reuben sandwich was fantastic! I had the Rooster Royale sandwich and it too was fantastic. Our super sweet server checked on us frequently and brought out our Thanksgiving dinner kit when it was ready. This was why I’m writing a review. The smoked turkey needs only to be warmed up along with the phenomenal sides of roasted garlic mashed potatoes, the chicken sausage poblano & gouda dressing, and creamed Brussels sprouts. The basting sauce for the turkey kicked it over the top flavor wise. The orange cranberry sauce was sweet and tart. Even the rolls warmed up with a toasty crust. All I had to do was carve! This will become our family tradition for years to come! Truly a delicious and delightful meal.
Went in at lunch and got the Rueben and the whiskey cake…. Reuben was really good, the sauerkraut was nice and tangy and added another layer to the sandwich…. Then the cake came, definitely a 2 person desert, was nice a spongy the pecans where nice and toasty and there house made whipped cream was awesome. Bar tender kept my glass full and was very nice
I can’t thank the team at Whiskey Cake enough. I called last minute to book their private dining room, and even though they were pretty booked, they made adjustments and made it all happen. The staff was absolutely amazing. Kind, thoughtful, and so accommodating. They went above and beyond in every way, and it truly meant a lot. The food was excellent as always, but it was their warmth and care that made experience unforgettable. I’m deeply grateful to the manager, and the entire staff that served us for making everything so special.
This was our first time dining and we were rather surprised at the whole experience. The food was delicious we ordered deviled eggs and the bacon for appetizers and the prime rib and Gouida stack for the entrée. Everything was amazing. Our waitress Zoey kept drinks filled and was friendly and knowledgeable when it came to the menu. Zoey i will request on our next visit. Oh and I almost forgot their hostess was super welcoming and friendly. Definitely adding this place to our List of great places to dine out.
Great place for brunch. Food was great for the 8 of us. Price was reasonable for the quality of the food. Staff wears T Shirt so more of a family style instead of upscale. Would eat here again.
Glad I waited until my 3rd time here before giving a rating as 3rd time definitely was our best experience yet. Let me start off by saying best time to come is a weekday afternoon, to avoid end of day and weekend rush as this place can get really loud and crowded during those times. 2nd, although kids may come, don't do it. My wife and I truly enjoyed just picking different appetizers and exploring drinks. This place is best enjoyed when not rushed and just taking your time. Great servers like Justin added to the great experience as he explained a bit of history for every whiskey and bourbon pick. Very knowledgeable, in fact, that we just let him dictate what to order for us lol. There was a bit of fun and relaxing vibe to trusting your server with what is good. Guided, of course, by your preference and liking as he asks about mood and cravings. Definitely a weekday afternoon chill place for my wife and I moving forward.
We really liked this restaurant! Our server Jenelle was great! They have an awesome selection of whiskeys (perfect for my husband). My drink (Tracy's Garden) was amazing! We had the flash fried brussel sprouts, they were delicious! I had the Smoked chopped chicken salad, delicious as well. My husband had the Hot Hen sandwich and that was great too! I really wanted to try the Whiskey cake but I was too full, so we will definitely have to go back and try it. I saw other people post that they thought this place was expensive but I think they're on par with the other restaurants we've been to.
Food was great, service great, atmosphere excellent. I had the bone in pork chop which was very good, however I was very shocked at how great the chicken and waffles were, that breading on the chicken made me a little jealous for not choosing that. Great cocktail choices I had the Down by the Bay...wasn't in the mood for whiskey, so this was the next best for me. It was mixed well and tasted great.
We had stopped in for an appetizer and the famous whiskey cake! Just those two items were delicious. It was such a great treat. I know the food has to be delicious and top tier. The server really educated us on the history of the restaurant also, so great service provided. Thanks my friend for taking me here.
My favorite place to eat in United States. This franchise is amazing and the quality of the food and the drinks is amazing. We ordered a salad, steak frites, pork ribs, hummus and whiskey cake and everything was amazing. To drink I ordered a whiskey special with orange bitters and was perfect 100% recommended
Shout to Chloe, Erin and Travis! They hosted our large group (70 people) and did a phenomenal job! The patio was a perfect space. Everyone enjoyed the appetizers especially the deviled eggs and burger sliders! I truly appreciate your service, kindness and hustle!
The food is aways good. Today I tried the bbq Thai duck wings with a side of French fries. And of course the signature whiskey cake and strawberries. The waiter he was very friendly great service. It's wasn't crowded I went prefect timing around 530 pm on a Sunday. It had a nice ambiance flowing through the room. I will continue to travel to all locations checking them out.
The atmosphere was absolutely perfect to celebrate an intimate birthday dinner with my fiance. Our server, Faith S, was excellent. Very attentive and just chatty enough without neglecting any other tables, while making us feel welcome. The food, as always, was absolutely phenomenal. We've never been disappointed, and will always be back. Also, we got a slice of the cake this time [yay birthday!] And oh my... a new staple to our visits for sure.
This is a place I always treat myself for my bday... I went yesterday. The vibes were a bit off when I went though... I shook it off so I could enjoy myself. Not sure what it was... I've had friendlier service.... Maybe it was us.... But anywho...this is a great place to dine. I don't just love the food but they have candles! I didn't get one this time but you should check them out 🤩😁
This was my second time coming here and the service was so much better, our waiter Travis was very patient with our large party and super attentive. The hostess team was so kind and accommodating. I got the steak frite and it was delicious we also got the whiskey cake and that was delicious as well. I truly haven't had anything on the menu I didn't like. Highly recommended for a nice night out for dinner.
Met my cousin who recommended the place since I had never been. Food was excellent. The Old Fashioned was delicious. Remy (hope the spelling is correct), our server was great. The man definitely deserves a raise or promotion for his patience and quality service. Oh, and that Whiskey Cake was glorious.
I’ve been coming here for 3 years for work regularly. The food is fantastic and everything from appetizers to the entrees are delicious. Everyone that works there is top notch. Abbe and Hadi the bartenders are absolutely fantastic and really go the extra mile to make sure you a great experience. They know the menu in and out and recommend great additions or changes to the meals.
We dropped in here for our weekly night out. We got there about 5:00 ish and there weren’t many people so we got a little worried. But our waitress Annele made us feel at home right away. I tried the bourbon flight and really enjoyed it. Then we split a hummus appetizer and the veggies that came with it were so fresh we couldn’t get over it. I like to take pictures of my food after I start eating it and as you can see my burger was scrumptious! We had an excellent time. If you haven’t been here yet, you must go. If you have, you must go back. I know we will.
Hats Off To The Chef The food was amazing. The food was delicious. The food was simply amazingly delicious. First time but will not be the last. In town visiting my daughter for the Christmas Holiday and decided to give this place a try. And our server Gabriella was one of the sweetest most professional waitresses I’ve encountered in a long time especially in the times we are living with so much hate and evil. Thank you Gabrielle keep shining you rock. We were able to sit in the patio area we didn’t have reservations but the atmosphere was great. My family ordered the Ribeye with the house steak sauce the Steak Frites with fries topped with Parmesan and the Wood Steak Salad . Topped off the evening with the signature Whiskey Cake omg can you say finger licking good. Again, HATS OFF TO THE CHEF
We loved this place. The deviled eggs are an absolute must have. The whiskey cake.......was phenomenal. The atmosphere was fun and our waiter was super helpful, as well as entertaining. I'd definitely go back.
The Whiskey Cake in The Woodlands has become one of out favorite places to go for drinks and dinner. The atmosphere is great, everyone is nice and helpful. The food is unique and amazing!! Our favorite part is the vast selection of Whiskey and lots of other liquor options. The bartenders are so knowledgeable and entertaining to watch as they make unique, delicious creations. Justin and Abbie in the bar are just amazing!!! I highly recommend and we will always continue to return.
The food overall is ok, but that was our first visit and haven't tried food there ever since bc it wasn't very good. BUT the Whiskey Cake dessert on other hand is what's it's renowned for, so we go just for that and few drinks. Our bartender Justin was on point and knowledgeable about his liquors. Thx Justin. 3 of us shared 1 dessert with drinks Sunday 11NOV2026
Whiskey Cake never disappoints! The food is consistently incredible—fresh, flavorful, and made with real care. Every dish feels crafted, not just cooked. And the service? Honestly, it’s like walking into a Chick-fil-A but with a rustic, foodie vibe. The staff is unfailingly kind, attentive, and genuinely happy to help, which makes every visit feel welcoming. Between the top-tier customer service and the always-amazing food, Whiskey Cake is easily one of my favorite spots. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable meal and an even better experience!
We came here for the sake of a family reunion and it was honestly the best choice we could've made! The atmosphere of this restaurant was truly ideal, particularly the outdoor patio area where we ate. The quality of the food was beyond elegant, and the waiter seemed fully delighted to take our orders. The restrooms were clean and quite spacious. Although it is a bit on the expensive side, it's surely worth the highly pleasant experience. Lastly, this place is best felt when eating with a group of friends, associates, or loved ones! So go ahead and bring them over!
Five Stars All the Way! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ From the moment we pulled up, this place made an impression. The curb appeal was stunning—charming, welcoming, and definitely photo-worthy. Stepping inside, the ambience was just as impressive: warm lighting, inviting decor, and the kind of atmosphere that makes you want to linger a little longer. But the real star of the show? Jordan, our incredible waitress. From the moment we sat down until we took pictures at the end to capture the memory, she didn’t miss a beat. Jordan was knowledgeable, kind, genuinely down to earth, and made us feel like we were more than just guests—she made us feel at home. Her recommendations were spot on, her timing was perfect, and her energy was simply contagious. And let’s talk about the food—absolutely phenomenal. Every bite was bursting with flavor, beautifully plated, and clearly crafted with care. You can tell this place puts passion into everything they do. If you’re in the area or just passing through, do yourself a favor and make this a stop. It’s more than just a meal—it’s an experience you’ll want to remember (and trust me, you’ll want to take pictures too!). Highly recommend. 10/10. Would come back in a heartbeat
Desiree was AWESOME! Super attentive. Checked on me. Offered a drink they had. Ill be back

Not to risk sounding like a child, but they've got the best chicken tenders and fries ever lol Their green tomatoes are also delicious. We come here regularly and really enjoy the ambiance.

Came with some family for dinner and had a great time. The atmosphere was nice and cozy, and the service was pretty good. We started with the goat cheese fondue, and it was absolutely delicious! Highly recommend it, great mix of the tart cheese with herbs l, garlic and sundried tomatoes. Our entrées cane out a while after our appetizer, but everything was delicious! For dessert, we had the whiskey cake, and while it looked like a sugar explosion, the cake itself had a good chocolate flavor without being overly sweet. The whiskey sauce and fresh whipped cream were perfect additions. My only complaint would be the drinks we got from the bar. My margarita just tasted like watered-down juice.
This is a really nice place to try. I ordered the beef rib with noodles, and it was very tender. The inside of the establishment has very nice decor I love the look of it. The ambiance was has a nice setting. The waiter we had was very nice, and made us feel comfortable. We also ordered the green fried tomatoes, and the duck wings which are soooooo awesome. We also ordered the 3 pig sliders.
The food was excellent. The ambiance is great but it certainly doesn't feel like a hangout spot for the long haul. The prices are steep for my budget considering what you get. The portions were just right for what you need to eat but small for the price. Chicken salad was good flavor wise but chicken was a bit dry. Some vegetarian options were available. Mac and cheese was awesome.
I recently dined at whiskey cake in Woodlands, TX, and while the food was delicious and flavorful, the service was disappointingly slow. The dishes were excellent, with fresh ingredients and well-balanced flavors, especially the Shrimp and Grids. However, the sluggish service did affect the overall experience. Despite the delay, the cozy ambiance added a pleasant touch. With improved service efficiency, this restaurant could be a top choice for foodies.
My first time at whiskey cake and I was thoroughly impressed. Walking in gives you the distillery feel and seeing the wall of whiskey behind the bar lets you know that the drinks are going to be great. Our server was amazing I wish I could remember her name. Super sweet and very knowledgeable about the menu and gave us great suggestions on food. The food was great. We didn't get to try dessert but this won't be my last time eating here.

We reserved on a Saturday. The burger we tried out was delicious, accompanied by fries. We also ordered the pork chops which were ok, but missing more vegetables on the side. Went out to eat here with family on a Sunday. Took a few minutes to get seated. Our server was really nice and friendly. The drinks were great. We ordered the duck wings, they were dry. I ordered the shrimp and grits and was not a big fan; I’ve definitely had better. Everyone else really enjoyed their food. The showstopper truly was the whiskey cake it was 10/10. Overall, I think the food was too expensive for the quality and taste of food.
First time husband and I visited this spot. He had the tavern burger and fries. I had the woodgrilled salmon. For drinks the guava gimlet was sooooo good I had to have 2, hubby had sprite. Meal and drinks were very good however waiter could have been more attentive.
Service wasn't great as waited awhile to place our order and refills were infrequent. The French onion burger was good along with the kettle chips. The whiskey cake was way overcooked on top, bottom and end so didn't taste good at all so we left almost all of it. Very disappointing based on the price.
The good first. Nice place. Crowded and active with very nice and attentive staff. Unfortunately there are a few bad notes. Rotisserie chicken was adequate, but nothing to write home about. Parmesan potatoes good. Onion burger was ok, but the patty was very under-seasoned. Fresh cut fries were delicious. But the reason we will never be back is because NO CASH! A cashless society is a slave society. Any time they can monitor your spending, they can eventually control your spending. And then I will put the tip on the card- which I never do, so hopefully the waitstaff with rise up and protest.

Always delicious, sat promptly has reservations made it clear we had 2 hours with our party lol. Either way had a great time. Some of the apps ordered never made it, now that I think about it forgot to check the bill for that. Ordered 2 whisky cakes, they never showed up either but didn’t mater it was 7:03. Table of 20 was a hard deal. We’ll go different route next year for company Christmas party next year however dinner for 2 not a bad choice.

So sad trying this place our server didnt even care to help us or bringing out our waters. Salad didnt even come with bacon when it was supposed to and had to be returned and took 10 minutes just for a salad. Sandwich was really bland and I was shocked. And our server would not even give us any attention I wish I wouldve caught her name she was blonde with glasses. Hopefully this place improves
If I could give a negative review I would. Super dissatisfied with the charcuterie board. No bread, no crackers, only a little bit of 2 cheap cheeses and sausage. The only thing I appreciated on this was the prosciutto and the honey.. but what a disappointment. Do not waste your money here if you want a charcuterie board 2go. The experience was COMPLETELY different in person
The food was mediocre. The online brunch menu needs to be updated. The mimosa flights taste horrible. There was no true mixture. It taste just like dry champagne with a hint of juice. The price isn’t even worth it for the flights due to the glasses being so small ($15.5). You can pay $15 at Mahoney’s and get bottomless mimosas. At Mahoney’s they bring you a glass of juice of choice and a bottle of champagne as requested for $15. Back to Whiskey Cake: The burger was dry and had no taste. The pancakes were the same. Not to mention I waited 15min before my waiter appeared at the table. Then another 45min before I received my food. This was my first and last time here. For me to wait that long for food and it wasn’t worth it ismh..
When we walked in, family of 5 the hostess was great! That is where the good experience ended. Just walked out after spending 15 minutes with the waitress coming to the table once bringing us tap water then disappeared without getting our drink order. Tried to make eye contact with the manager multiple occasions. This shouldn't have been difficult as we were sat at the high tops in the middle of the restaurant and he never looked our way. I would be somewhat more sympathetic if they were busy but at 2pm it was a casual crowd with plenty of workers running around.
