Amazing pizza spot with pinball games and a metal theme . Oh there's also a grip of beers n ciders on tap if that is your thing . Its also 2 blocks from Jack London Square. The blueberry pie is my bomb btw . Can't stop thinking about it . They do a good job of balancing the flavors here. This is one of my current favs The one hitter is enough to feed the average person but pizza monsters like myself should probably bump it up a bit . Whole pie is a custom . One hitter pies are maquahuitl. They do karaoke here some nights . Have cool movies playing . Good mix of music but generally on the heavier side.

Thought about coming here for a long time. Finally did and I’ve now been back a couple times. Photos don’t do a service as the style is hard to describe. Too thin for grandma or Detroit, too thick for ‘tavern’ or bar pies. Too crispy of a crust to say handmade. Combine that with the cornmeal crust, and it’s kind of its own thing. Sauce skewed sweet.

We had such a great experience at Hesher’s Pizza & Taproom! While waiting on our to-go order of the Cheese Master regular pizza, we played a round of Uno from their giant game closet—literally a chest with drawers full of all kinds of games. We even finished our game right as the pizza was brought out to our table! The atmosphere is awesome—inviting, laid-back, and fun. Between the pool table, pinball machines, and all the board games, there’s something for everyone to enjoy while hanging out. As for the pizza? Absolutely delicious. The Cheese Master hit the spot, and I loved that they included small sealed packets of red pepper flakes, cheese, and more on the side. Fresh, flavorful, and perfectly made. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. Overall, 5 stars across the board. Great food, great atmosphere, and great people. Highly recommend Hesher’s if you’re looking for a fun spot to relax and enjoy top-quality pizza!

Just moved to the Area and this was the best 1st impression. Other than a NY slice this is definitely one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had. Great customer service as well, I called in at 9:45 and they still served me fast!

With Forge now gone, I tried a lot of pizza around here in JLS, and unfortunately not a lot of it is better than frozen store bought pizza or the crust is like dry wall, and I was afraid to try Hesher's as I lost hope, maybe pizza just isn't Oakland's thing... But I was very wrong, not only is this better than the once existing Forge, it's great one of my favorites now. The crust is perfect that perfect middle ground of crispy yet not too thick not too thin, the sauce reminds me of Chicago pizza (taste), the cheese stays in it's place, and the toppings are objectively placed. Behind the punk aestethtic and baggies of cheese that look like... well. Is someone in the kitchen who really cares about the product they're putting out there. Literally just trust me on this, if you're looking for good pizza, Hesher's.

I stumbled on this place looking for an ATM and was intrigued by the environment. When I entered, people played Warcraft board-type games, pool tables, and pinball machines. I decided to stay and try one of their small pepperoni pizzas and enjoy the games. The food came out quickly, and it was delicious. I decided to play on the pinball machines, and they have an app where you can upload money and play if you don't have coins. I thought keeping their customers engaged in their restaurant was a cool feature. Come check this place out if you want to chill and play and have a bite to eat.

Chinmay Surpur

This is one of my favorite pizzerias and taprooms in Oakland! The ambiance is unique and eccentric with a darker/macabre vibe (really beautifully done). There’s a pool table and plenty of old school arcade machines. Their cider is amazing and they also serve beer here. They also have board games and blocks for kids. My favorite thing has to be the pizza though. Absolutely love the pizza here, probably my favorite in Oakland. Check it out if you’re in the area, you won’t be disappointed!

Amazing pizza, my new go-to spot! Love the interesting pizza combos. Ordered the Hesh law and Coffins choice, flavors were top notch, really soft yummy dough. I like the small size for when I want a quick dinner for one. Definitely give this place a try.

Amazing!! I loved this place! Their hard rock music, their pinball machines, their pizza, and definitely their cider. They have almost 30 different options, and you can try them in 4-shot packages. Go go go...could not recommend this place enough! They have board games, too, BTW!!

this is a great place to meet and hang out. its a 2 for 1 deal. The pizza place is in the cider bar, the cider bar hold the pizza place, but they are two different companies. They have like 40 difference kinds of ciders, and 15 different kinds of pizza. So there will be a flavor combination for every kind of taste. The people there are super cool as well, a must visit while your in jack london.

The pizza here is incredible. We love the meat fungus! They also have a great selection of board games and are surprisingly kid friendly.

Such a cool place! The pizza was great, and the drink selection is awesome! We saw a bunch of friendly people playing board/card games, and really enjoyed the horror movie theme that night!

Heshers Pizza has been a long time to go for me and they were a great addition to Crooked City back in the day. I love that you have "The False" on the menu, but would love to see a couple more vegan defaults too! Good food, beer and cider. JLS just needs a bit more life injected which hopefully comes soon!

The pizza is really good and the ingredients are all super high quality and very fresh. lots of vegetarian and vegan options. There's pool and pinball if you like games as well. Big beer and cider selections, indoor and outdoor seating. Hesher's has got it all!

Excellent square pie pizza. Inventive house topping combos. Hilarious branding and parmesan packets. The space is filled with punk and metal posters. Occasional punk metal shows in the dining room. Outdoor seating.

I would say that the pizza was created from Satan himself. It was so good I felt like I was doing something wrong. We got the pepperoni honey pizza and it was almost like Detroit style pizza. I always knew that Detroit would be derived from hell. JK but for real this environment is super interesting and is themed on heavy metal. The beer was focused mostly on ciders and was cool that I could get a flight. I would say that if you are cool with something different and are down with metal, show face here. Pro Tip; I saw a couple bring their first date here. I would maybe not do that. Maybe just your homies and play board games. 7.3/10

Came in here after the Regal movies and I was thrilled because of my experience in Long Beach at the 4 Horsemen. While a cool spot, my full size pizza was so small. It tastes like a Trader Joe’s pizza, with such a small portion size. I’m sorry Bay Area folks but this isn’t quality.. this is robbery and there are way better spots then this… I could have replicated this experience by going to my liquor store and buying Trader Joe’s pizza at my own place. This place is more of a brewery. IMO overpriced and not worth, could be better. $60 bucks for a basically 3 slices of pizza deemed a regular pizza and small drinks. Has pricy beer place tho.
