Opinions de Lazeez Kitchen Oakland
Wow, what a gem. Glad this place was recommended to us. The food was fresh and good and price was reasonable. Easy for gluten free options. And nice people running the place and clean.
I would like to extend my sincere thanks to your wonderful restaurant for the delicious food and the high level of courtesy and professionalism. A special thanks to Miss Nadia for her exceptional kindness and warm attitude—it truly made our experience even more enjoyable. I would also like to give heartfelt thanks to Chef Mrs. Moba for the incredibly tasty dishes. Every bite reflected great skill and love. Thank you all for a memorable experience!
Went with a friend for the first time yesterday and we really enjoyed the food. Cooked and seasoned very well and was fresh. The woman who rang us up was pleasant and helpful. I got beef shawarma and he got lamb shank so we got to try a bit of each other's meals and would say we can't wait to go back and I especially want to try the chicken. The decor was simple and clean and the bathroom was surprisingly really nice, kinda upscale with a light scent that wasn't overwhelming. I find personally that some bathrooms can have too much air freshener but it seemed like just the right amount.
The food was really really good. I especially liked the rice and salad. Rice was fluffy warm and tasty , the salad was fresh ! Lamb gyro was huge
I can’t say that I’ve had the best falafel, until i tried this place! On top of that, they have very generous portions! Love the humus and basmati rice and pita bread too. The sauces go really well with everything, especially the garlic cream sauce! The beef plate was also delicious, but the falafel here is the best I’ve ever had! This is now my go to spot for Mediterranean food!
Excellent Middle Eastern!! And best lamp cubes I have ever had in my life!!!
I decided to have dinner at this place where I really enjoyed the food—it was very fresh and tasty. The lamb cubes were particularly delicious, and the salad was also very fresh. I highly recommend that everyone visit. You won't regret it! Good luck to everyone considering it.
We found this place while in the area—it popped up in a search for nearby restaurants, and with all the great reviews, we decided to give it a try. It was close to closing time when we arrived, and it was dark outside, so we weren’t quite sure where to park at first. Luckily, we found a spot just across the street. From the start, the customer service was excellent. The person who took our order was friendly, knowledgeable about the menu (especially gluten-free options), and very helpful. We decided to share a chicken shawarma plate and a hummus plate. The portions were generous—probably more than enough for the two of us! The chicken shawarma was delicious, served over a bed of yellow rice with a side of Greek salad that I actually preferred over the ones I had in Greece. The food was beautifully plated, and it was clear a lot of care went into its preparation. It took about 15 minutes for our food to arrive—not the fastest, but absolutely worth the wait for the quality and attention to detail. The hummus plate was huge, served with pita for my non-GF counterpart. The hummus itself had a distinct and unexpected flavor—different from traditional hummus. The more I think about it, the more intrigued I am. I’d love to hear what others think! It’s definitely worth trying alongside their other dishes, but I’d say the hummus might be a bit much if it’s the only thing you get. Or it may be just me. The unique flavor is somewhat distinctive and might be too much for one person to finish on their own especially if it’s the only dish you get. You can solve that by sampling more dishes! One thing I’d love to see in the future is the option to add cut veggies with the hummus, which would be great for those who don’t eat pita. Although this is a Middle Eastern restaurant, as I mentioned, some of the flavors were different from what we’ve had before. Having just visited Greece, we found ourselves trying to pinpoint the unique spice blend but couldn’t quite figure it out. There seemed to be a hint of cloves. It was very subtle. Towards the end of our meal, our server offered us complimentary chai, which was a lovely touch and perfect for a chilly evening. We really enjoyed that. Before leaving, we chatted with our server, who turned out to be the owner. It seems to be a family-run place. When we asked about the flavor influences, he explained that while the food is Middle Eastern, they are originally from Eritrea and incorporate Eritrean spices into their dishes for a unique Middle Eastern experience. That explained the flavors we couldn’t quite put our finger on! Overall, we had a very good experience and recommend this spot. I would call it a hidden gem! It absolutely deserves more recognition. They also offer catering. We thought we could try that sometime but want to go back and try other dishes first! (Also posted on Yelp— we liked them so much, wanted to spread the word).
This is our second time dining here. Fresh, delicious, well seasoned food! The guys who work here are so kind and helpful! I will definitely be coming back!
Delicious food and fair prices, definitely check it out!
Awesome dining experience inside is very high-tech menu and fast service. Food is excellent. People are good atmosphere. They also have outside seating which we like cuz it's sunshine. Thank you. Enjoy. Hope you enjoy too. They are vegetarian and meat.

Lamb cube stew was fantastic, the chicken shawarma tasted fresh. Would come back and recommend.
Had the diced lamb and beef plate (not the sharwerma) over yellow rice with a side salad. Let me start with the rice, well seasoned, doesn’t overwhelm. The meat was delicious can be eaten without the house sauce but for me, the house sauce was the special touch and complimentary to the flavors of the meat and rice. The staff and the cook/chief were so pleasant ☺️. The portions are big so you can possibly share with two or go extremely hungry.
Absolutely love this restaurant! The food is delicious and the staff are very friendly. My favorite dish is the chicken shawarma plate and I also love getting the baklava for a sweet treat. 10/10 for sure.
Ordered the chicken shawarma wrap and plate. The wrap was a little small, but the plate was quite large and generous. Flavors were delicious, with really fresh ingredients and hot off the grill. Service was really courteous and friendly, even giving a free chai.

Enjoyed the food here. Restaurant is clean and the service was really nice. It was a peaceful vibe. Kinda made me feel like I was in Brooklyn, NY honestly. Although the area is sketchy, it has a sense of warmth and welcome inside. I took off a star because the place was not crowded at all and our food was not rushed out (Good thing), but once it did come the rice was cold. However, the issue was immediately rectified. I had the chicken plate and my wife had the lamb plate. Very very very delicious. The portion size was nice. She also got the fresh fruit juice (Mango). That was good too. We will go back again. I really loved the atmosphere and the food

A bit of a different take on Mediterranean/Middle Eastern food but really enjoyable! HUGE portions for the price (especially in this economy) and friendly staff. My only complaint was the lack of airflow inside, which made it a little stuffy even with the door open.

The food was good, I enjoyed it — but why don’t I feel like coming back?
We were excited to try the food and ordered take out. Upon arriving home one of the items was missing from the order. My partner called Lazeez to let them know and to try and remedy it and instead of being helpful the person on the phone says "let me check" and then hangs up. He hung up on us twice. My partner went back to the restaurant and they made the missing item. Unfortunately we also had requested dressing on the side for the entree but it was tossed in and my partner couldn't eat it. The lentil vegetable soup was very tasty. A little more communication and attention to detail could have made this experience a lot better though.

I was looking for a place to eat lunch, and came across this place. I am not familiar with the area restaurants. I ask the young lady what a hummus plate what does it consists of? She looked with a confused face. I repeated myself, I know what hummus is. She shook her head and walked into the kitchen.. I don't want to eat anywhere, when people act like this. At 70 years old. I've been put out of better and worse. Don't eat here trust me on this one.
I ordered 3 different items from this restaurant and none of them were eatable. Rice is too oily. I spent $70. I would say i wasted my money.
The first time I bought a chicken Shawarma plate there my daughter found long pieces Hair in her plate I went and complained about it. The owner didn’t wanna give me my money back fast forward seven months later since I live around the corner from the restaurant, I decided to give Them another chance, This time I got a chicken Shawarma wrap for my wife not even three hours later my wife waking up vomiting like the movie exorcist don’t ever go here. It has roaches and bad meat. I repeat. Do not eat there.
