The best Mexican food I’ve ever had. First bite makes you do a double take. The owner is really kind and helpful as well. The fish and steak super tacos (two different tacos) were amazing. The nachos were really good too but the tacos were the star.

One of my fav Mexican food spots! Flavor is consistent every time. Must have: Steak burrito Steak nachos Fish taco Watermelon Agua Order ahead so you can avoid the lines. Street parking but there's always a spot. They accept cash and cards. Love their extended hours on the weekends. Beware that they are not open on Sundays. So, plan ahead.

First time here and I am for sure coming back. Out of all foods, burritos and agua frescas have my heart. This place did justice to both the burrito and fresh agua fresca. They have about 5 agua frescas to choose from including Jamaica, watermelon, and pineapple. I can remember the other two. I had a regular chicken burrito with the mild spicy and black bean option. It came with guacamole too! There was a perfect blend of spicy, sour, and savory flavors. The watermelon agua fresca tied everything together with its sweet and refreshing taste.

Cool little spot. I ended up going due to the good reviews and it did not disappoint. I ordered steak fries and ended up waiting 20-25 mins for them. Well worth the wait. They did not skimp on anything. The meat was really good as well. Will be returning.

This place is a godsend for halal adherents. Their birria tacos are out of this world. The sauce was just the right level of spicy and the meat was well cooked and perfectly spiced. The crispy cheese layer on the tacos just added to the overall flavour. They serve it with a red creamy chili sauce and limes. I appreciate that they do not skimp on key ingredients and are generous with their servings. Also tried the Chicken Flautas which are similar to chicken spring rolls served with sour cream, refried beans and rice. It was nice. Also liked the Hamaica which was thankfully alcohol free. It was a sweet and sour hibiscus iced drink. Looking forward to trying other items on their menu.

Hana Estalilla

I ordered two regular tacos with steak and no onions. Sorta expensive, but they tasted great and the size was reasonable. Their hot salsa (I think it was salsa?) went incredible with it. It was enough to make me full. Good food! Of course, Maya Halal is not really a restaurant, but a take-out place. There was seating outside, but only three small tables, which were not in great condition. So, (while the employees were polite), you aren’t really getting any service or atmosphere here. Overall, 4/5.

The guy who took my order was kind of a drive the prices are reasonable. I've been waiting to come here for like at least a year now I really wanted to support a woman of colors business but I probably won't be back again I got this super steak burrito and it was just so Bland and just not at portion-wise it was huge but it was lacking flavor. The sauces were okay the orange one is kind of spicy but it wasn't my cup of tea I wouldn't go back again to this place probably. And also they have a thing on their window that says that to check your food there because they don't give refunds if something's wrong with your order and you leave.

the vegan burrito with refried beans was not my favorite AT ALL. i also dont really like the red sauce (not bc its spicy but bc the flavor isnt my favorite) but my boyfriend loved his carne asada burrito (lady boss)

I’m sad and disappointed. After reading all the great reviews, I was expecting some delicious food. The grilled chicken in my tacos was very dry. The tortillas were hard. Nothing else on them but onions and cilantro. Definitely not worth $12. I may come back and try something else. I would like to have a good experience. The customer service was good.

Walked over here tonight in the rain, first night in oakland. I didnt even get to the menu. Bad attitudes, bad service. I smell hipster arrogance. Hard pass. I will never go here again. A waste of time and energy to be insulted. What is it? No thanks. Train your workers to serve the customers and answer direct questions like how much with 4.99 not look at the menu. Just bad service.

Try this place out for the first time because a coworker told me that the food was good. Went by to get a chicken burrito super when I got the burrito the burrito had too many beans on it with the bean juice no sour cream very little chicken and when I called the manager back to let him know that I had no sour cream very little cheese too as well. He gave me attitude. I would never go back to this place again and I will tell all my friends not to go here step your game up quit cheating people, Out of Chicken and sour cream……..And the beans was too salty
