I absolutely loved this taproom! Great selection and they made the best michelada i think i have ever had- made with kimchee!! A must when in the area!
A gem! Everything is perfect here- vibes, service, prices. Loved the weekend happy hour and the shandy as well as oatmeal draft. Highly recommend the sandwich/flight combo! Such a great deal. Will definitely be back!
Probably one of my favorite “taprooms” In the bay area. The staff are amazing, especially Tiffany. Super personal, make you feel like you’re their best friend from the moment you walk in until the moment you’re leaving. Everyone has good banter (even the other patrons are so well taken care of you could literally start a convo with anyone and they’re down). They are puppy friendly so you might get some surprise sniffs, but definitely worth it 100%. I’ll keep coming back forever and ever.
Great little stop on a Sunday stroll. The weather was beautiful so we opted to sit outside but indoor seating is available (with proof of covid-19 vaccination or a recent negative test). The servers were helpful and attentive, drinks were good and our small bites plate was tasty. I loved the touch of pepper on the butter. Will visit again
Hands-down best beer in the Bay Area, and I know that's saying a lot. I even enjoy their fruity beers. They rotate often and always manage to impress me. The labels are the most beautiful too. Spoil yourself and order a full board flight with every kind. The snacks are also on point.
Romantic but casual, timeless but fresh. Rose’s is the best addition to Temescal in ages. The beer is phenomenal and varied. The food is well curated and changes often. Both are very reasonably priced! Excellent date spot or for a small group of friends. Staff is friendly and helpful and it’s rarely too crowded.
Nice respite from the trials and tribulations of Telegraph. Bright and airy space that has a good amount of seating. Very small food menu, eat elsewhere for more than nibbles. Good selection of beers for all flavors and tastes.
Great and quickly changing selection of small batch craft beer. Some nice small bites as well including choices of olives, almonds, peppers, bread, and meats. Cozy spot to have a conversation and from what I hear it is wholly owned by a couple that built everything from the beer to the barstools.
Bright & dreamy ambience and fun & helpful staff. Had some sample beers & played some fun card games. Will be back!
Great traditional and new interpretation beers - the brewers are obviously fine artists in the craft. Bread from next door, and butter, so good! Homemade kimchi for the micheladas, oh gaw yum. Beautiful space, and I love Rose's bouquets. The purveyors are super friendly and cool here too, bonus! Oh, and get a mug. Support the arts, and drink them too.
This was at least my fifth trip here and we arrived a few minutes before they opened they graciously served as cold beer before the official opening thank goodness as it was a very warm day for Oakland anyway the service was great and I love the selection of beers hard to decide which too I'm going to have at every visit looking forward to trying something new next time
Lovely IPAs, that's the only style I've tried so far, and they now have an easy online order/pick-up process. Happy to support local brewers.
ordered a flight of 6 drafts and loved each and every one. Quality, tasteful, interesting, drinkable beers - every one. small bites (charcuterie/Mezze) are all high quality also: olives, bread, hummus, chorizo, etc.
Always nice to stop by Roses'. Nice atmosphere and friendly service. I miss living close by but always stop by when we are in the neighborhood.
If you're looking to visit the area or are a local, this is a charming boutique brew room you do not want to miss. Especially great with good friends or to socialize with new ones.
Remarkably good all around. Every style was solid. Homey decor. Nice music. Friendly staff (even helped us find a way to change a diaper!).
Wonderful house brewed beer, other fine beverages in a beautiful setting with amazing staff; great spot for drinks
Place is good, beers and tons of seating. Food selection far more adequate than it needs to be, overall recommended.
Love this spot in temescal! Perfect little wine bar to nosh and enjoy people watching on an excellent part of telegraph ave. And when I was there last they had gluten free crackers to substitute for the bread on their snack plates!
Sorry to see this beautiful space closing as of Saturday, November 29th, 2025. Glad to have experienced it a couple times, and looking forward to our neighbors creating more comfortable and welcoming spaces like it in Temescal and elsewhere in Oakland.
Love Rose’s! Last week we went and shared a beer flight (yum) and tinned scallops and a veggie-goat cheese sandwich. Oooh, that jam! Fig I believe.
Stylishly Oakland wine bar, with clever bar snacks like furikake popcorn. A very millennial, hipster vibe similar to SF Valencia Street. Excellent spot to grab a drink while shopping or strolling around in Temescal.
Ok I def thought this was a Natural Wine bar when I first walked by purely based off of vibes But it’s a fun taproom with unique flavors & a super tasty&generous charcuterie selection Had the Vanilla/Lime Hard Seltzer, would def try something else next time but glad I tried had a unique flavor. Vermouth flight was a fun try, I’m not a vermouth gal but my friend is and they enjoyed ! The charcuterie was the highlight, you could mix and match with lots of diff flavors and for $23 that’s a lot of good and filling stuff in there.
Stopped by for a glass of rose and some bread on a Monday late afternoon. The patio catches the setting sun which is nice. Service was very friendly. Their bread and cheese was superb, as was the rose. Good spot for dates, journalling, you name it.
Just happened upon this place. Saw the name and wondered if it was owned by a woman. It is. Staff were friendly and welcoming. The beer brewed here is excellent.
I stopped in here for a quick afternoon drink. I was impressed by the warm and friendly staff. I had the limeade bellini which I can't recommend enough-- just one of their amazing house-made cocktails. The inside is beautiful, airy and light.
Fantastic beer and snacks, love the atmosphere. Thanks Jules for the fun beer facts
Roses’ taproom is a cute lil instagrammable spot with fancy beers to sip while ya chat about how far you’ve come since PBR. It’s a nice environment, but a little small so maybe not the best for a big group - more suited for a few coworkers for happy hour. Only complaint is happy hour ends at 5, so ya better plan on leaving work early if ya wanna get there in time for $1 off.
Best place in Temescal! Fun fruity beers with well balanced quality flavors. Friendly and attentive staff and a great aesthetic. The bathroom is always free and is there anything more satisfying than being able to pee when you need to at a crowded cool bar?! There are enormous plants everywhere!! I can’t believe they have such large Monstera’s! What’s their plant secret? How do they water them?
Excellent beer for just opening. Flavor profile matched notes. Tasty bar snacks, may not be for everyone but I particularly enjoy anchovies with good olive oil and bread.
Really delicious beer and an awesome happy hour snack board. Great outside seating area as well.
Loved this cute place! The bread, butter and fig jam were so very yummy! I will definitely be back sometime.

Roses is the perfect date taproom. Dim lights, pretty decor, fancy food, it's got it all! Plus their beers are amazing! It's a great new addition to the neighbor! Only downside is the expensively prices growlers:/
Nice vibe, friendly staff, decent selection of drinks, including cheaper options which is a plus. The real reason to visit, however, is the shrinky-dink making station.
I was back in town visiting so I grabbed some drinks with a friend. Now that I’m older, hangovers are horrible even with a sip of beer so I made sure to take my OHCap pills before drinking to avoid one. They offer a variety of beers here ranging from porters to sour. They’re either tapped from a keg or it comes in a cool, colorful can. Outdoor seating is available with heat lamps in case it gets cold (which it did lol). We ended up moving inside anyways. Not a whole lot of seating but it was enough space for the three of us amigos to chill in the back. Bonus! They also offer small bites so we ordered a combo-type plate. Basically a charcuterie board with cured meats, cheeses, and spread. We ended up drinking a few more beers than we thought but thankfully I brought the OHCap with me. I’ll skip the hangover, thanks. I’d come here again in a heartbeat next time I’m around.
Excellent wine selection! Best prosciutto sandwich and positive vibe!

I can understand why regulars enjoy this spot. But I walked in and found service to be not rude, exactly, but…not warm. Wine list expensive and esoteric; I get that it’s a taproom but then, don’t bother having a wine list. Sandwich imaginative but not very tasty. Bread was so crusty I couldn’t chew it. So don’t worry Ed (see comment above), an old white woman got the same treatment you did.
Unfortunately the staff are never friendly here. They do seem to have a nice simple menu and decent beers available.
The service was spectacular and so friendly. I was excited to try their potted meats as I have been craving rillette so it was perfect to order! Unfortunately I was let down at what was served, very oily poached pork chunks and didn’t even taste the duck confit. Definitely was not a traditional rillette and it was unappetizing from the oil and the bread that was served with it was ok, the crust was chewy (wish it was grilled/toasted to give the dish a different texture) and it made it difficult to “spread” the rillette on it. i don’t suggest sitting outside either as there is absolutely no shade during our sunny summertime season now. The cider I tried was delicious and service was friendly and attentive.

Nice atmosphere and good beer. It’s a shame that the servers were so rude. We were treated more like nuisances than customers. I won’t be going back to Roses’.
I used to love this place but now the service is not what it used to be. Rude bar tenders that ignore you until you say excuse me. I almost walked out the other day. One of your bar tenders says what do u want. I ordered my beer and later over heard the same bartender talk to someone really nice. And I'm Mexican, the person she was nice to is white. I'm not saying the bartender is racist but they definitely were giving 2 different experiences based on something.
If you’re out of business why are you still charging me for the mug club? Can I have my money back. There’s a new charge on my account today. That’s fraud
As someone who has worked in hospitality for most of my adult life, I am not usually inclined to write bad reviews. This place is an exception. The bar closes at 10pm on Friday night. The server came over and did last call at 935pm right after me and my party got a fresh round of drinks (over $100 in alcohol). Then right at 10pm the server told us to finish up our last sips of drinks even though we all still had relatively full drinks. At 1030pm the server said "sorry but it's WAY past closing and I need you all to leave". This is completely over the line. Most bars would do last call 20-30 mins past close. And no bar, or restaurant should EVER, under ANY circumstance ask guests to finish their drinks and leave unless the guests were unruly or it was past the time they can legally sell alcohol. The servers were rude, turning on lights, pulling heat lamps, and even taking the trash out of the bathroom, so when I had to use the bathroom at 1010pm or so, I had to carry my wet paper towels after washing my hands back to my table. This place should not have a high rating.
I came here with my friends to celebrate on a Friday night. The server did a last call way before the bar closed and then was really rude about getting us all out of there as fast as possible. It really ruined the celebratory vibe and left us all with bitter taste at the end of the night. Definitely won’t be coming back here.
