Black Bear Diner in Oakley, California, offers a very comfortable dining experience with affordable prices. Located in downtown Oakley and offering plenty of parking and clean bathrooms. The staff here are all outstanding and take care of you very well. You will be pleased with all the choices the menu offers and feel free to have breakfast anytime of the day.

Loved my pot roast, they were out of beef gravy, but the server offered me turkey gravy or comping the meal. Or was great with the turkey gravy, then they have me a free dessert. Great service, great food. And if their out, they are quite good spirits about using their resources. Sorry about the photos I normally can snap a good one before digging in, but not tonight.

This was one of the best Black Bear Diners I've eaten at. Very clean and extremely friendly service. Our food was served fast and the coffee was endless. The pies looked like they belonged on a cover of a magazine and the atmosphere was pleasant. I've had several chaotic experiences at over crowded diners but this was a cozy experience.

Very nice family restaurant. This is our Thursday morning go to. Everyone is so nice. Service starts with Lola greeting you with a smile and the friendly waitresses are excellent. food is great.

Got a chicken 🐔 avocado 🥑 club and the food was good but there was minimal amount of chicken in the sandwich 🥪 unfortunately. Service was great and quick service as well but the sandwich was more bread and mayo then chicken.

Evelyn is the BEST waitress at Black Bear Diner in Oakley! We haven't been to the restaurant since COVID, yet she remembered us, brought us our beverages without us telling her, extra gravy without asking her, extra napkins without asking her. It has been over 5 years. I love the fresh squeezed orange juice.

We had cheeseburgers and my aunt loved it - she said it tasted homemade. I didn’t find that it tasted homemade because it was not juicy- a little dry- but it was edible and satisfied my hunger. I am from the south so maybe my tastebuds need a little extra to meet the standard - we do love our spices ❤️ We ordered to go so I didn’t rate atmosphere but the parking lot was clean and had more than adequate parking spaces 👍🏽

I know 2 locations of the Black Bear Dinner (Los Angeles). This is my first time at Oakley. Today, too many people, the wait could take up to 50 minutes (it's something reasonable being a father's day). Good attention, I can't complain. Only one thing, I don't know whose mistake, cooking or waiter, but our food was served very, very late, more than 1 hour waiting. 2 tables They came much more after us, and they were served first (and I'm talking about tables of up to more than 7 people. ) That's my only claim. for everything else excellent,

We went around 9 a.m. and received excellent customer service from Olivia. It wasn't too crowded and they have glass dividers up between booths. All employees were wearing a mask. We were served around 9:25 a.m. which was about 15 min after placing our order. The food was good and table was clean. Overall, good experience. Minus one star for the small parking lot.

Only loses a star because of our waitress. Friendly enough just missing in action alot. Our group found ourselves looking around like prairie dogs for her lol but her co workers helped pick up the slack. The portions are large and delicious. Nice to see these restaurant chains keep their continuity no matter where your are. Large and spacious location. I love the decor and fun atmosphere.

Asked for extra dressing for salad and chicken strips. No sauce. Ordered pumpkin cheesecake that they asked if I wanted it separate or on top I said separate. No pumpkin sauce. Waited until the 4pm requirement for a specific dinner for my husband. Feel really let down and cheated. I always tip very well and it's not like they were busy AT ALL. Very disappointed. Never state bad reviews but this pushed me over the edge. 5 employees standing there doing nothing yet the order could not be anything close to what I asked and paid for. Done with Black Bear for a long time.
