Opinions de Dad's Cafe Brentwood
They have the best omelets. They're very flavorful. They actually mix a lot of the ingredients into the egg, so you don't just have some ingredients wrapped in straight egg like most restaurants.
Stopped her for Fathers Day lunch and the food is to die forMeat was delicious, mac n cheese has hint of pepper and melts. The pork was great to and the bowl with beans and rice are delicious and Im not really even a beans person.
Great service Really good food
My wife and I go to Dad’s at least 4 times a month. It never disappoints! The food is delicious, the servings are large and the service is friendly and efficient. The owner is always there overseeing the operation and making sure that all goes well. We love the atmosphere with the quiet 50’s music playing. It’s like a trip back in time. We are so happy that Dad’s was able to survive this past year and wish them much success in the coming year!
Decided to stop by here to get some food. The one thing I that always makes me go 5 stars... customer service. The person upfront at the cashier's drawer/taking orders... she was very friendly and professional. - Prices were fair. - Portions were well above what I expected and food was great. - Parking is shared with other businesses, so might be busy. - Inside, seems like enough space for a lot of people. - Tons of options to choose from.
Since writing this review things have changed the food is now good I have tried a few things on the menu but my all time is the country steak. I don't know what happened but the food is not what it used to be been going here for years, I order the same food and my food tasted like it was re cooked when I requested for a new one I got a different taste maybe even a different item I don't know. The customer service is definitely not the same either new waiters maybe I was just so used to the old waiters who knew just to fill my cup of coffee with out asking. Along with all this the prices are hiked too high and there is now a sharing fee charged ridiculous cant even afford to come here every week anymore just too expensive now.
First time here and loved it! The waitresses were very friendly and attentive. I had the chicken portobello sandwich with garlic fries which were absolutely delicious!! The price is also reasonable. Nice and cleanly establishment. Definitely would love to come back!
Awesome hometown cooking. Friendly quick service. Excellent atmosphere with wonderful oldies but goodies music playing. Only thing I would like to see more is the employees do a little bit more cleaning when time allows. Especially around the windowsills.
I've probably gone to Dad's five times a month since they opened and never left without looking forward to coming back. The quality of the food, service, and prices are fine. I've been with 50 people in their back room and amazed at the smooth and efficient service. (BTW, Thursday's soup de jure — Cream of Chicken & Lemon — is one of my all-time favorite dishes.
Large group, service was excellent; had our own waitress which made it run smoothly. Each couple had their own check...so simple. Food was delicious and served warm and fresh
Most excellent service here! I was surprised how busy they were and still had the time to come to our table and make sure all coffee was filled and everything was good. We came here for Sunday breakfast and we all enjoyed what we ordered. My omelette was a generous portion filled with lots of bacon. My husband had steak and eggs. He said it was delicious. My son had pancakes and scrambled eggs. They looked so yummy. We will be coming back soon!
Came here on a Saturday morning. It was pretty busy, and a lot of people came in with huge parties. Fortunately, I was here to place a to-go order. Upon entering, it's a pretty warm and cozy vibe. I was helped right away, and the lady was super nice and helpful in picking what to order. While waiting, they have little old-school sticker machines and toys that you pay .50 - $1 for. It just brought back memories as a kid. Selection isn't the same, but it just brought me back. I ordered: 1. Dad's Breakfast sandwich - the sandwich had a thick slice of ham, thick bacon, and cheese topped with an over medium egg. It was a messy perfection. It hit the spot. 2. Corn beef hash and eggs - So simple but delicious. I liked that it didn't come with the fancy chopped bell peppers and onions on everything. It was definitely what I needed. Surprisingly, I finished it all. The potatoes and corn beef hash was perfectly seasoned that i didn't need to add ketchup or tapatio. 3. French Toast - We didn't eat it until we got home, and it was fire. Their syrup was amazing as well. The bread was fluffy and not overly eggy. 4. Pancakes - just like the French toast, it did not disappoint If I am ever in the area, I would definitely want to come back. Highly recommend.
Admittedly, I ate it all. Too much food, but very good! Denver omelet, hash browns, sourdough toast and coffee. Great service, reasonable prices. My new standard for breakfast. Great job, Dad!
We ordered the eggs benedict. It was really good. Came with hash browns that were really good. Nice and crispy just how I like them. They will make them just how you like them. This spot has had a few different restaurants over the years and so far this is the best one! I recommend you give it a try!
Tasty breakfast with excellent service, thank you!

It's hard to find a good American breakfast anymore but this spot was great. American classic diner atmosphere, good food and big selection. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I can definitely see becoming a regular customer here. Good job guys!
Had a wonderful breakfast here. We both ordered the basic breakfasts and between us sampled different egg styles, hash browns vs potatoes, ham and sausage. It was all delicious and really a cut above. Wonderful service as well.
We done and standard cafe fair but it was done correctly to order. Service was top notch our serving person checked in with us regularly, and when she went on break she let us know, introduced the person covering for her and asked if we needed anything before she went on break. The atmosphere was pleasant and comfortable. Temperature was set at a comfortable setting. The coffee was good location was clean.
The new ownership is really good for the restaurant. Loving the changes.
Great food. Ask for danae to serve you. She's great
The food was a little pricey but they served a full plate. The coffee was good. The service was excellent. I will definitely be back.
I went this weekend and the food was alright, the place was not to packed for it being Sunday so we got sat very fast which was good! The real only bad thing was that the waiter never gave me a coffee refill so i ate the whole food with 1 cup of coffee. Still I would recommend the place.
First time having Dads Cafe. California Burger was perfect. Wife Patty melt. Just right. Son.. Eggs Benedict loved it but would like a little more Hollandaise. Fried Zucchini was great. Service was outstanding. New favorite place.

Food was good and the server was very attentive. But why did they try and seat us at the back table near the back door, and it wasn't crowded?! Since we were the only African American patrons in the restaurant, I took it personally. Maybe wasn't meant that way, but Dads Cafe, be aware of the visual aesthetics.
Decent diner food, kind of pricy but you will leave full. The interior could use a refresh/deep clean.
This is a hole in the wall place, but don't let the exterior fool you. Dad's cafe has delicious food and very kind staff. Dad's Cafe serves massive portions at great prices. You really can't go wrong here with their large selections of American food while listening to old school music of yesteryear. Think of Mel's Diner with a more relaxed feel. My husband had the country fried steak and I had the steak salad. We shared an order of jalapeno poppers. All of the food was delicious and we even brought the leftovers home. We will definitely be back.
I had a veggie omlette which was good but their potatoes are awful, dry and tasteless. They taste and have the texture of frozen potatoes instead of fresh. I would suggest to the manager to make some tasteful home fries to go with the meal to step it up a notch!
I go to Dad's at least twice a month. The food is made from scratch by the owner every day and it's really good. My only issue were the enchiladas; the sauce is a marinara sauce instead of true enchilada sauce. Not a good combination. (I was later told by a friend that it's the way they're made in Honduras).
When I went to dad's cafe, it wasn't busy at all, seems like business is slow? But food is good and enough to stuff your stomach. Waitress was so nice, and atmosphere wasn't bad at all!
Great food. Comfortable and simple good old fashioned diner. The front door has a sign that says masks are required, and all the employees are wearing them . . . except for Dad. Come on Dad, follow your own damn rules and wear your mask. I know it's your joint but wear your mask and be a good role model for your employees and customers!
I have eaten here many times over the years. Food was good as usual Service was excellent Atmosphere was good The dining room is getting a little old and needs a little face lift.
Huge portions, great food and excellent service. Restaurant was clean and had good music playing. Milkshake was ridiculously expensive and small. $5.25 for a small shake. Otherwise, everything was very tasty and we will come back.
Wow! This place was jumping on the 4th of July! Nevertheless the cook and wait staff were on top of it. My bacon was nearly perfect (so crisp it falls apart in your fingers) and my hash browns and toast were yummy. I don't eat eggs but order them scrambled if they come with my meal and my husband eats them. The only issue we had this morning was my eggs came over easy which just about caused me to lose my lunch, er, breakfast in this case. If not for that this visit would have been 5 stars.
We keep hearing about Dad's Cafe, so finally decided to try eating here. The menu looked like average fare with fair prices. Ordered the Eggs Benedict and had avocado added. It was pretty good, not stellar, and not much of a portion. It came with a choice of hash browns or potatoes, and we chose potatoes -- they were just alright. However, customer service was extremely friendly, and on it other than not having a drink refill -- but that's not a big deal even though they weren't swamped. Would return again with out-of-towners or perhaps a business lunch.

Hometown atmosphere, good food, great service. I liked it and I'll be sure to be back.
Service was very good. New management/owners has done a great job!
Under new ownership so time will tell food needs improvement for sure

This place is so hit and miss. Sometimes it's great and others, like my experience tonight, I couldnt even finish the meal it was so bad. Steak sandwich that was 90% gristle and purple in the middle (ordered medium) and French fries that were all "bottom of the bag". It's convenient and priced fairly so we keep coming back. Breakfast served all day and is usually pretty good unless they are slacking on changing the cooking oil and everything tastes like burnt onion rings and over used oil. Very friendly service.
Stopped in for a quick bite after being in the area for an appointment. The food was good and came out quick. The price was reasonable. The restaurant has a retro feel to it, reminds me of the old Lyon's from the 70's. My only complaint is that I had to ask for a refill on my coffee, even though the waitress refilled my fiancé 's ice tea!
The stuff we had was pretty good food not bad! Great staff very friendly

This place has some good food, BUT that is the only reason I gave it 2 stars. The service is super bad, all these servers forgot there smiles at home. I don't love my job, but no one told me to work where I do so I act happy because customer service is just as important as everything else.m
Picked up take out from Dad's while in town for a wedding. I appreciate them being open during these times, it must be difficult operating under these restrictions. That being said, the breakfast was pretty weak. We had bacon, eggs, and pancakes. Pancakes and bacon were decent enough, but the eggs were basically inedible. Not sure what happened, hopefully this is an infrequent problem.
Came for breakfast on MLK Day. Freezing temperature inside the restaurant, no soap, nor paper towels in the women's bathroom. I am actually shaking it is so cold in here. Food was good but potatoes were cold. Seats are all torn as well. We won't be coming back.
So they didn't give me a full orange juice. I ordered three waffles with chocolate chip on top, strawberries, and whipped cream. $42.19 in total. Half filled whipped cream. Not worth the purchase to be honest

My wife’s waffles came out cold. My food wasn’t all that great either. We had to ask for everything we needed, napkins etc. Our waiter was not very prompt at all. Pretty much left us alone the whole time and checked on us only once. We got our check after we walked up front and weren’t given our check after I asked for a to-go box which is usually the que. The place is not what it used to be and we will not be returning.
This was an unfortunate experience. Waitress was slow and wasn't good at her job. Orders were messed up, one child never received his food, and the other was given his pancakes but never brought syrup. Asked 3 times before ultimately just leaving.
I would like to say that the food here was really good. I very much enjoyed the food. That being said that's the only thing I could enjoy and to be honest it was hard to after what the service put me through. Upon arrival I was queried on my appearance. Innocently so for the most part from the younger server. After who appeared to be the "superior" she was shadowing came around that's when I was really singled out by the other server. We requested a table in a vacant part of the dinner first and foremost because of the initial reaction already sparked interest and attention of who was already there. When we were seated and after a continual interrogations of sorts we ordered and we're served. By the time I got to get to eat my French onion soup the bread was gone, cheese a puck, and was room temperature. Still good though. By this time my server had brought two other servers over to view my appearance and comment on my features. When my boyfriend and I were served our food our server brought out three other workers from the back. A cook, a hand (I think) ,and a bus boy. All the time " apologizing" to keep interrupting us for them to gawk at me. By the time we finished our meals I was just humiliated by this woman in front of a very aware restaurant. In short. The food was good. Service was horrible and entirely unprofessional. I will not be returning. Which is sad. I liked their food.
Went about a week ago. 2 people ahead of us were seated no issues. When it was our turn the owner or manager asked my wife and i for our Vaccination cards. He never asked the other people seated before us for proof. We pulled them out and he just said ok. Didn't bother looking at them. What was the point of even asking for them. Rather take my business to Black Bear dinner . Just wanted to flex his power. What a clown
I'm Very Disappointed! I've been in this place like 12 times. The usual waitress were not there today. I asked for the meat lovers scramble the waiter didn't understand me he had to go get a menu a d I pointed to what I wanted. I asked to have vegetables added to to it like I always do. The waiter did not understand me he got my order wrong. So he took it back and brought it back and it was wrong again. The owner came to my table and he was notably mad. He asked me not in a nice way what was wrong. I was embarrassed because everyone could hear him. So I said that it was okay I'd prefer not to eat so I got up and left. As I was on my way out he followed me out mad telling me that don't come back that I always do that. This is the first time I ever returned anything. He proceeded to say in a loud voice I don't need your business. Even when I didn't say a word to anyone on my way out. Someone like this shouldn't own a business. He obviously doesn't know how to control his anger! I really liked this place but after this I won't return or wouldn't recommend anyone else to go there.
