What I like best about the Surf Club is the Mojito and dancing to Gone Blonde whenever they play there. The coconut shrimp is also very tasty.
Had the poke bowl there, apparently it’s one of the best I have had so far!!! Did not expect that from a sports bar!
Nicely redone. Giving it a chance so starting with 5 stars. Live music on weekends. Upper Terrace is nice. Drinks are in a can for $5-6 9 for draft
Professional Partner Program held its 2nd business mixer at The Surf Club, and wow, what a fantastic experience! Meeche, our event manager, was an absolute dream to work with - this gal knows how to make magic happen! Everything was set up perfectly when we arrived, allowing us to focus on networking with our 30+ guests. The Surf Club is a fun place for events. Whether you're on the top deck with those killer views or in a reserved area on the main floor, you're in for a treat. Our group was spoiled with top-notch service, delicious cocktails, and their new menu? Let's just say our taste buds were doing a happy dance! If you're planning an event and want it to be smooth sailing, Meeche and The Surf Club are your go-to duo. Trust me, you won't be disappointed! Here's to many more successful mixers at this awesome venue! 🎉 #BusinessMixer #TheSurfClub #EventPlanning #OceansideCA
This place really has it all! Great place to stop by for a delicious lunch, play a game of pool, and maybe even have a drink for happy hour. Open concept restaurant close to the beach with a lively surf vibe. You can even bring the kiddos- there's a couple arcade games in the back! Come back in the evening and head up to the rooftop bar for some fantastic live music and drinks under string lights with a few outdoor heaters to keep you comfy. Great view and I was really impressed with the band too! We loved it and you will too!
Stopped by The Surf Club Oceanside and enjoyed a delicious poke bowl and spicy chicken sandwich – both were fantastic! Our waitress was super friendly and made the experience even better. Went on a Sunday and the live music really elevated the atmosphere. Great food, great vibes – definitely worth a visit!
Great food, wine and beer Staff really good with suggestions and great service We sat outside on ground level and the staff member put on the gas heater for us as it cooled down Awesome tacos, super tasty accompanied by a Mexican style lager 😎🍺 We found this was very close to ‘The Top Gun’ house as filmed in the 1986 original along with replica GPZ900R (that’s the UK name for it anyway!) which inspired a friend of mine to buy the very same one, hence added a few pics of that in case it’s useful to anyone 🏍️
Service was fantastic. Rachelle was an amazing waitress, attentive and knowledgeable, as well as knowing the right questions to ask/clarify and answer. I ordered water and a sugar free red Bull with vodka, chips and guac to start. The guac was fresh and delicious. The chips were the perfect amount of crispy and salty. For the main course I ordered the two tacos, carne asada per Rachelle's recommendation. I greatly approve, the carne asada was favored to perfection as well as cooked to perfection, including the hint of the lime squeezed over it was fantastic. Then to add in the Diablo sauce sent it way over the edge into greatness. If you like spicy this is definitely the route, it isn't overbearing on the spicy level so it is great for additional flavor with a slight spice sting but quickly subsides. Also another great feature of the restaurant is dog friendly, however, as anywhere else I hope your dog is trained and not reactive. Customers are very friendly and love when there are dog(s) nearby. I will definitely be back for more.

Shay is an amazing bartender, we came in during happy hour and she served the best drinks recommendations 🍹 plus her amazing customer service!
This place was incredible! Shay at the bar gave us such an incredible experience! We stopped in for happy hour based on the sign out front and we will definitely be back! Shay is professional, personable, and quite funny! Food came out in a timely manner. The view is great at the bar, and the liquor selection and cocktail program is great! The prices are very reasonable too! We took the train down from south OC and this was such a great stop. I look forward to coming back!
I’ve only been for drinks on the rooftop bar for live music. I love the vibe and the house margarita and Paloma are delicious. Drinks very reasonably priced considering proximity to the beach, food appears priced for tourists.
It's by the beach so atmosphere is great! June is very attentive to the customers. Food menu is simple but good, it's a bar after all. Beer and liquor selection is great! Definitely recommend for visitors

The Surf Club is an amazing venue for a cozy dinner or to hold a company event. We held our annual company meeting at this site with great success! The food was absolutely delicious whether in the restaurant or catered for our meetings on the terrace with an ocean view lunch. They were able to successfully accommodate meals dealing with several food allergies of our guests at quite affordable pricing. The morning buffet breakfast that is included with each hotel room guest offered a vast variety of items. It was impressive as well as tasty. The restaurant offers a relaxing ambiance with savory dishes. Again, at reasonable prices. The service is exceptional from the Banquet Manager all the way through the ranks. Our every request was addressed with the most pleasant of interactions. As a local resident of North San Diego County we will be frequenting this establishment often and recommending it to our out of town visitors. It is a jewel of a choice whether to stay as a guest or enjoy a meal out. This has recently become a Marriott property and a venue truly up to their high standards of comfort and quality....
We gathered on the rooftop to celebrate my friend’s birthday, and it turned out to be an incredible evening. The atmosphere was electric, with the warm breeze and twinkling city lights surrounding us. A live band played uplifting tunes that filled the air, setting the perfect backdrop for our celebration. Laughter and joy echoed as we danced and mingled with friends. This rooftop venue, with its stunning views of the Oceanside Pier and vibrant energy, was an ideal spot for an unforgettable night of music and friendship.
We enjoyed our lunch at the Surf Club Oceanside. The food was good, especially the lobster roll and the fish and chips. Beer selection is nice, with a dozen draft options. Still, service was slow, for taking the order and serving the food. Although seated in the center of the restaurant, we could feel fresh air on us and had to put back our jackets on

Service was great! The food was delicious. We got wings, cauliflower wings, chips and yummy salsa, brie, and the Pastrami fries (so good and different). It was all very tasty. Gone Blond was a lively band to listen to and many were dancing.
This is one of the place where you leave with $60 less in your pocket and feel like you were robbed. The hostess was pretty sour and kept chatting with her coworker before finally acknowledging us. The place was pretty empty, only 3 other tables. But despite that we waited over 30 min for our food (even though people who came later got theirs). The server was very sweet and clearly felt bad. She mentioned that the menu is new and maybe the kitchen was confused. Not really sure what’s confusing about fish and chips so who knows what really happened. Anyways, food was nothing to write home about. Pretty basic.
First Visit—they are confused about their food menus—tough time figuring out what is and what isn’t offered at this space (downstairs) or the rooftop. Service very slow and not attentive. Guacamole is ok—odd though as it has a bunch of weird cheese crumbles on top and other toppings (unsure what all were). Salsa is smoky and spicy—quite delicious. It’s nice they allow veggies instead of chips. Double Burger without the bun was good and very filling. Atmosphere is so so, even the rooftop is just ok—not great seating. That said, it is fun dancing outside in the evening on a cool night with a good band. Management needs to do a very job of dealing with the patrons wanting to reserve tables (seats) on the rooftop to watch the bands. A lot of unpleasant arguments and anger amongst those in attendance makes for an uncomfortable experience.

We went to the rooftop lounge at Surf Club to check it out and hear live music. Lots of seating, one band playing, one setting up (mostly blocking the stair entrance which seemed unsafe imo). They offer draft cocktails $13-$15 which are basically the size of a Dixie cup, see pic. When you pay and the suggested tip pops up as 20%- 22% for that over priced tiny drink that was poured from a tap and it feels pretty insulting sorry to say.
This place is dirty and extremely overpriced! They charge $15 for 0.5 ounce of champagne, mostly juice. In my opinion, they take advantage of vacationers! I ordered a soda and side of fries for my son, a mimosa and a beer. I paid $38. We will never go back and we love close by!
The food was barely edible. We ordered two drinks and two different meals, and the only good thing was the spicy Paloma. The other three items were blah. Two drinks being the spicy Paloma, and their signature old fashion. The Paloma was good, but their old fashion at a one ounce pour was horrible. Ended up getting their smash burger and the fish tacos. The Smashburger was burnt and just not good, but I did eat it because I was extremely hungry. The fish tacos were subpar at best. With all that being said, it is not a new restaurant or bar. It is basically just Hello Betty with a new name, and same disappointing experience. So no I do not recommend this place. Go else where for better food and drinks

BEWARE: PEANUTS IN THE GUACAMOLE! NOT DISCLOSED ON THE MENU. I have a peanut allergy and ordered the chips, salsa, and added the loaded guacamole. I took one bite of the guacamole and immediately began to feel my throat tingling (thankfully it was not a large enough bite for my throat to close). My friend asked the waitress if the chips were fried in peanut oil, or if anything contained peanuts. She did not know and had to ask the kitchen, who confirmed with her that there were peanuts in the guacamole. The waitress was also surprised to find out there were peanuts and that it was not disclosed on the menu. She wrote herself a note to inform the manager and directed us to the hotel lobby for Benadryl (mine was back in our vehicle). The wait staff was nice, however, I was surprised that no manager came to check on us or apologize for the ordeal. Not disclosing peanuts as an ingredient, especially when it is such a common and aggressive allergen, is extremely irresponsible. I was also surprised that nothing on our bill was comped or that a manager did not come to remedy the situation. I tried calling the restaurant the next day to follow up on adding something to inform guests of the peanuts in the guacamole, but could not get through. Additionally, I wrote to the restaurant via their "contact us" on their website on Saturday, but still have not had anyone reach out or follow up (it is now Monday evening). I hate to leave a bad review, but this is serious and people going to this restaurant need to be aware. I added a photo of their physical menu and website menu to show that nothing is indicated. Their menu even has a peanut note at the bottom for other items... just not the guacamole, ugh!
Food was very mediocre!!! The lady who brought us food was very rude!!! My fish and chips came with cole slaw and I asked where it was and she said sorry it’s all out and didn’t offer me anything else. She said “we don’t have anything else” with a rude tone when I asked. Not worth coming here. My friends burrito was SO DRY and not good.
My table of 3's order took forever, items were changed by the chef without our knowing, and The Seabird ( multi story building blocking out the sunlight) doesnt help with the ambiance. Portion sizes for apps were subpar but expected for a place so gentrified, do not expect too much as far as consistency you may have a good time if you're looking for something else on the menu. WOULD NOT COME BACK VOLUNTARILY
